Lollipop UI Bugs [Russian localization]

Phone UI changes since lollipop update so some bugs appears.
1. WI-FI and Bluetooth icons can't be removed from notification panel like before. Also new profile avatar can't be removed as well. This features should be optional
2. If I turn off top cantacts service then its empty panel still exists above call list. It should have ability to turn top contacts panel off
3. Calculator has only 'delete' button. It should have regular C/AC buttons because it's not a notepad
4. Terrible 'Close all' button in task list. Can it have equal bevels on all sides?

These are not bugs in the firmware but how it's designed to look and work but i will of course forward your feedback internally.
Regarding the calculator you can tap and hold DEL to clear all.

A Flaw in Russian Localization

Hello,
While experimenting with PDF tools today, I had to uninstall and install again Adobe Reader 9. While the software was downloading, I noted a bad translation on the installation dialogue:
It reads "загрузить и проводка прогресс" which is a balderdash in Russian (something like "to download and wiring, progress"). Being a localization specialist I can guess that the original text was "Download and installation progress", but it is not evident to an everage user at all.
Please also note that the freshly downloaded and installed Reader 9 suggested installing an update (to 9.3.1 - CPSID_50570) as soon as I started it. Do not you think that it would be more convenient for the users to have the latest version of the software available right away?

Lenovo Yoga 2 830LC tablet 8" lollipop upgrade bugs

After I upgraded my tablet to lollipop 5.0.1 I am facing some issues 1. Tablet nor taking restarts successfully at any of the attempts. So always have to do hard reset to start.2. Apart from predefined lockscreen images ,in KitKat version it was possible to customize your own images as lockscreen.But now you cannot crop the images desirably and thus displaying over cropped zoomed pictures. 3. Internet data toggle needs a two step touch to connect. Which should be customized to once as before. 4. No shortcut widgets provided.5. Addition of extra home screens should be allowed.6. When switched on after hard reset, the auto rotate settings gets turned off .7. Other instabilities are there which are annoying, if compared to the KitKat performances

Thanks for letting us know about the bugs in the lollipop update. I'll wait for the stable version, until then will use the existing KitKat version. And this i also recommend to the fellow owners of the yoga tablet 2.

Scrubbing on iPad. Improvements ideas of russian localization

Hi, i'm a russian user of iPad.
When i'm watching video, or listen to music, small hint appears, when i grab a playhead with finger:
+Скорость скраббинга: высокая+
+Отрегулируйте скорость скраббинга пальцем.+
The english version is:
+High speed scrubbing+
+Slide your finger down to adjust the scrubbing rate+
English version is good enough to understand.
But, with russian version, i see usability problems:
1. There is no word "скраббинг" in Russian language. No one can understand it. I've never understood this, until i've accidentally slided my finger down.
2. Nothing hints, how to adjust scrubbing speed. When i translate russian version back to english, it will sound like so: "Adjust the scrubbing speed with fingers". Of course, the question is "How ?".
Solution ideas:
Instead of "скраббинг", to use a word "перемотка". This word is widely known in Russia.
So, the final hint may sound like this:
+Скорость перемотки: высокая+
+Потяните пальцем вниз, чтобы её уменьшить.+
Also, some visual hint can be displayed, like arrows, pointing down.

BUG - German localization / Translation of Preference

Hello,
I just tried to find the option to display the line numbers in the code editor. The german preference dialog hides this option in Code-Editor -> Zeilenzwischenraum. Zeilenzwischenraum means line spacing, the space between two lines, while Line Gutter should be translated with Randspalte, meaning a vertical space (column) at one side of the text.

Außenrandbereich is surely better than Zeilenzwischenraum, though it is not specifically a vertical space, more like a frame.
Personally I would prefer Randspalte but both translations are acceptable.

P.S.: Randbereich is synonymous to Außenrandbereich and shorter. A border (Rand) is usually at the outside (Außen), isn't it? :-) Almost a tautology.

FDM - russian locale?

Hi All,
I'm interested if Russian localization is planned for FDM?
Is it possible to customize/translate UI in FDM? Any documentation on this?

From Oracle's website, download the Excel file(Support Matrix).
In the sheet named- "Translation Support", they mentioned as "NA" for FDM - Russian cell. So, I believe- FDM won't be supported in Russian locale.

AirPort Utility 5.5.2 localization problems

Hello! Sorry if I'm writing in the wrong place. But russian localization together with the menus in the latest AirPort Utility is all messed up both for Time Capsule and AirPort Express, could you please fix that?

There doesn't seem to be a choice for AirPort Utility. Perhaps one of the AirPort base station choices would work.

LENOVO TAB 2 A10-70 lollipop issues report everybody.

Recently lenovo give the lollipop update to the LENOVO TAB 2 A10-70,but everybody has reporting serious bug's in this tablet after made the update,please can you put all your issues related with lollipop?Lenovo is not interested in bring a bug's fix for this tablet?

Omg, where do I begin? First of all I can't even bring up the **bleep** keyboard to type this response. I'm using the tablet right now to type this message in another application so I can cut and paste. Lenovo Tab 2 A7-10F Android 5.01 Lollipop ROM bugs: 1. Update initially soft bricked the tablet at boot. (Hard Reset required (Power button + Volume Down boots into recovery mode) [Fixed issue] 2. Dolby sound was VERY low. (Wiped all Dolby app data) [Fixed issue] 3. Poor Wi-Fi reception & range. (Seriously you have to be right next to the **bleep** source of the Wi-Fi signal or else it's slow as F****. [Unresolved issue] 4. Bluetooth connection issues. Paired devices take forever to sync, I have to reboot the tablet and reboot the Bluetooth device or Remove the device and Pair it again from scratch. [Unresolved Issue] 5. In portrait mode regardless of the application in use the front facing camera, if oriented on the right hand, side turns the screen off briefly several times until you rotate the screen into landscape then it stops. I can't begin to tell you how F**** annoying this is and it happens often. This tablet does not have a proximity sensor and I theorize is using the crappy camera adhoc to shut the screen off. [Unresolved issue] Looking back I should have purchased a Nexus 9. I wasted more time and gray hair than I expected and still have issues unresolved. I will never purchase another Lenovo Tablet.

HP Slate 21 Pro Kitkat 4.4.2 update issues

Nice they've finally updated us to Kitkat now everyone else is being updated to Lollipop.
Bugs now introduced with KK
1. Physical keyboard numlock. In JB it remembered I always had it on. Now it always boots up off. Change it to remember or give a settings option to start it 'on'
2. Location - I switch it off, some app/system app keeps switching it on. Never did this under JB. Fix it
3. Removing apps via 'system/app' - once the toast appears saying it's uninstalled an app, the app stays in the list and the list doesn't respond to clicks. You have to click on 'system/users' for example and then back into 'system/app' to remove the next app. Please fix this glaring BUG.

Installing MF4320d Canon on Snow Leopard 10.6.4

I've a serious headache since yesterday, when I bought Canon MF4320d.
Yesterday I connected it successful, first like scanner (using Euro-version of software Mac Scangear MF V1.20 EN.dmg).
Then I spent hour trying to connect it like printer. And finally - it works!
In printers list there where line "Multifunctional (not definitely so, I have a russian localization of Mac OS)", printing from word, printing pdf-documents - all was fine. But scanner didn't work. And I tried to install Mac Scangear MF once again. After reboot scanner was ok, but printer didn't work.
Then I tried different drivers, always cleaning system before installing new driver. (using console, sudo and rm, cleaning scanner and printer files, drivers, plists and so on).
The biggest success I've made - is printer name in list while trying to add new one. When I add it and try to print - process fail with 10322 error.
Connectign to Windows-PC work without any trouble. When I try to connect to printer by smb - error -50 raise.
I am confused by different verions of drivers. So I really need your help.

Sorry to read that the installation caused you so much trouble. It should have been much easier than that.
For your information, there is only one printer driver that is compatible with the MF43xx series and that is the Canon UFRII v2.xx driver for OS X. The printer does not support any other printer language such as PCL or Postscript so there are no other driver options available. Also the driver is not included with the Canon Driver Update v2.3 provided by Apple - it only contains drivers for the Canon inkjets.
So with the Canon UFRII v2.xx driver installed on the Mac, when you select to add the printer you have to select the Default view (press the Default icon in the Add Printer browser). The MF43xx should appear in the list - and if the model also supports faxing you will also see the model listed with FAX after the name.
Please note that for the MF43xx to appear in the Default view the printer must be connected directly to the Mac via USB cable. The UFRII driver does not support the printer if it is connected to a wireless router, such as an Airport Extreme, nor does the driver support printing when the device is connected and shared from a Windows computer.
So with the printer connected to the Mac via USB cable, after you select the printer name in the Default view, the Print Using menu will state that the appropriate software is not installed on the Mac or available from Apple. This is normal for this driver. At this stage simply change the Print Using menu to 'Select printer software' and then type MF4 in the search window that appears. This will show only the devices with MF4 in their name, your MF4320 being one of them. With the correct model selected, click OK and then Add to complete the installation of the print queue. This should then allow you to print from your apps.
With regards to the scanning, like the printing this is only supported if the MF43xx is connected by USB cable to the Mac. Also, to scan from Image Capture or Preview, you need to press the Scan button on the MF43xx. For my MF4380dn, I need to press the Scan button twice. When pressed once, the display shows Network Scanner (because the model has an Ethernet port) and pressing the Scan button a second time shows USB Scanner. I believe your model only has USB support so I would assume that you only need to press the Scan button once.

SAP GUI 7.20 printing - unreadble symbols

Recently we have uninstalled SAP GUI 7.10 and installed SAP GUI 7.20.
Now we have a problem with printing from the new SAPGUI. We get unreadable symbols from the workstation with Russian localization.
Earlier in SAPGUI 7.10 we resolved this problem simply by setting valid FontName and Character Set in Font Substituion Opton in SAPLPD.
But now SAPLPD uninstalled together with SAPGUI 7.10.
How can we resolve the same problem in SAPGUI 7.20?

ADS: SOAP Runtime Exception: CSoapExceptionTransport :(100101)

Hi everyone,
We are trying to run a PDF-based form on an ECC 6.0 system. The program name is HRULTAB0 (a russian localization specific time reporting form, if anyone ever used it).
The program itself runs fine, but when trying to print/preview the resulting PDF we get the error:
ADS: SOAP Runtime Exception: CSoapExceptionTransport :(100101)
Doing some debugging, I saw that the error comes from an exception CX_FP_RUNTIME_SYSTEM, which is raised somewhere in the execute method of an if_fp_pdf_object instance.
Could you please share any info regarding this error ?

Hi,
Some times while working with Adobe forms we suppose to get the ADS error. it means Adobe Designer Server error. This error is not coming from print program or layout. While activating the form or print program it doesnt give any error.When you access the form thru SFP tcode we will get the error.
Still we didnt get the solution for this kind of ADS error. You can contact with basis people, then they will rectify the problem.

Don't try to jailbreak it 3d party software is not always 100% qualified stuff. E.g., yesterday I've put Russian localization pack on my iPod and got a lot of "surprises": crashing keyboards & iPod apps, crappy not smoothed fonts etc.
There is also no Russian || Ukrainian keyboard on iPod. That's Ok, but adding / changing contact details in the Address Book or editing iCal event is a really weird thing. Why should I use translitaration or write everything non-native language?! That's stupid that localization doesn't include language inputs.

Keeping user interface in English while another language is 1st in the list

Hi, I am looking for a solution to UI taking the language selected first in "International" system prefs panel. I do need to have proper localization under the hood of all language-aware applications, but keep the UI in English.
Tom Gewecke had once posted a solution for a similar case with iTunes (thanks a lot btw): get info for the app and uncheck unneeded languages. I'd love to use it for Finder as well, but don't know what app to get info for in this case:)

Things were always this way since there was no such thing as an official Russian interface until 10.5.
That's not exactly true. 10.4 on intel macs also had Russian localization at some point.

But the trick with removing Russian.lproj could be my answer now like it was in iTunes. What app can I remove it from to make sure ALL menus stay in English throughout the OS?
Unfortunately there may be a lot of them. Do a search of your System folder for ru.lproj.
I think it might be easier to reinstall your OS. At the point of that process where you are allowed to customize, you find the languages item and just uncheck the box for Russian. That should make your OS just like it was in 10.4.
