Long formatting time for reports to generate output

Hi all,
Would really be glad if someone could help out on the following problem. i've a few reports that takes up more than 20 minutes to get the output. The reason being is, it only takes about 1-2 minutes before the report starts to format the pages. The formatting part would take about 15-20 minutes to generate the output. My question is why is the report taking such a long time to format 1-2 pages?
thank you.

Hieee,
Firsly determine how much time your query is taking to execute run that query (without parameters use hard coded values instead)at sql prompt. If the query it taking 20 Mins thats where your query is you go to Optimize your query.
Else the problem could be with your frames check them out

  • Long execution time for report MMREO050N

    Hi,
        I want ask a help for a report MMREO050N.
I have executed a report MMREO050N in ECC6.0, for archive 42.000 materials, but the program run a long long time,  in 24 hours the report have elaborated only 254 materiel and with this performance, the program will run for months...
    do you have any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Regards
         Andrea Ciocca

is it the first archiving program you execute?
I am just asking this as I have seen many questions here and all started with archiving of material master while material master archiving is probably the very last step in an archving circle.
Just execute SARA, enter MM_MATNR and click the button for network.
SAP will shows you which objects should be archived prior to material master.
wrong sequence of archiving has an enormous effect on run time, because SAP executes some hundred checks for each material master. And if you have a still dependend data for an material to be archived, then SAP reads a lot data before and writes error messages in the log and does not archive the material.
Even after having archived the dependend data I am still facing about 3 minutes runtime per material.

  • Extremely long display times for HTML in mail and Safari

Is anyone else experiencing similar lags in HTML rendering?
Since upgrading to Mountain Lion, I am experiencing extremely long render times for display HTML email messages in mail.   I am also experiencing extremely long render times in Safari.   I have Chrome installed on this same computer, if I goto the same website on Chrome and Safari, Chrome displays the page immediatly, Safari will take between 30sec and 1 minute.

The only way it can get fixed is if you report it to Adobe. Posting it here may not be sufficient. There is an Acrobat feature request forum here and a bug report form here: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform

I had backed up my IPhone 4s on iCloud on Jan 19. I am now trying to do another back up but it says the time required is 7 hours. It appears to long a time for 1GB of data stored on the iCloud. Can someone help me please?

To be honest, that sounds about right.
For example on my 8Mbps (megbits) down service I get around 0.4Mbps upload.  That is the equivalent of (very approximately) 3Mb (megabytes) per minute or 180Mb per hour.  Over 7 hours that would be just over 1Gb.
Obviously, it all depends on your connection speed, but that is certainly what I would expect, and that is why I use my computer for backing up, not iCloud.  So much quicker.

  • Anyone else having extra long delivery time for the late 2013 macbook pro 15" 2.6ghz 1tb model?

Anyone else having extra long delivery time for the late 2013 macbook pro 15" 2.6ghz 1tb model?
As of today feb 15 i have been waiting for 78 days. Finland doesn't have an official apple store (only authorized resellers) It was my mistake because i should have bought from apple.com. But i think 2.5 months is too long and i have no information about when i can get it..

    The low-end 15” rMBP with a 8 GB or RAM and a 256 GB SSD costs $2,000.
    The low-end 15” rMBP with a 8 GB or RAM and a 512 GB SSD costs $2,300.
With 16 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD it costs $2,500.
    The high-end 15” rMBP with a 16 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD costs $2,600.
All cost $500 dollars more with a 1 TB SSD.
So the SSD size is not a differentiating factor unless you prefer 256 GB.
If you think you need 16 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD then you might as well spend the extra $100 for the high-end model.
The high-end model will make a difference on gaming and graphics-oriented applications.
They tend to run other applications at about the same speed.
Both models are rated with 8 hours of battery life.
Benchmarks on PhotoShop comparing memory sizes:  https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5659174?tstart=30
The speed was about 10% different between 8 GB and 16 GB models.
On other applications your mileage may vary.
    Application benchmarks:
    http://www.macworld.com/article/2059215/15-inch-retina-macbook-pro-review-a-tale -of-two-laptops.html
The low-end and high-end performed the about the same on non-graphics oriented applications.
    Graphics oriented benchmarks:
On the Cinebench OpenGL benchmark the high-end was about twice as fast.
On the Unigine Heaven Benchmark benchmark they ran at about the same speed.
On the Unigine Valley Benchmark benchmark the high-end was about 1.5x as fast.

  • XML publisher report not generating output for huge XML files

Changed Depreciation Projections Report output type to XML.
Defined a Data Definition and a new Data Template (RTF) for this report.
Ran the Depreciation Projection Report to generate the XML output.
Ran the XML Report Publisher report to generate teh PDF/Excel output of the above report.
Output generated for smaller XML files. When XML size is big, the program is running for hours without generating the output.
Teh RTF template is basically a matrix report in which the number of columns in the report is based on the number of periods the report is run for.
The same is not working in the Desktop version also. The system is hanging when i try to view the preview pdf.
The XML file size is approximately 33 MB.
Please let me know if there is any way we can increase the memory size to see the output.
    Thanks,

  • Disk Utility - Format Time for 500GB (Zero Out Data)

    Hello.
Is there one length of time for formatting a hard drive with one pass of Zero Out Data? For instance, does the length of time change depending if you format with zeros using USB2, FW400, FW800, or eSATA?
    *My Format Setup*
    LaCie Rugged 500GB All-Terrain (USB2 & FW400/800)
    FW800 Cable
    GUID Partition Table
    Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
    Zero Out Data (One Pass)
I'm formatting with a FW800 connection. Disk Utility has said it will take 1.5 hours for about 3.5 hours now. The blue bar has progressed even though the time remaining is incorrect. At this rate, it will take seven hours to format 500GB.
I'm going to be formatting multiple 500GB and 1TB drives, and I'm wondering if the time I'm experiencing is normal. Therefore, it should take a day to format 1TB with one pass of zeros. Is this correct?
Thank you for your help! =)

It takes a long time to zero out data on a 500GB drive. The larger the drive, the longer it takes. I don't think the connection makes a difference, since each of your listed options are high speed. Never tried it on an external with USB 1.1, so can't give you any real time experience there. But it will take well over an hour to write zeros on every block of a 500GB drive.

  • Oracle Reports 9I generate output in excel

    Report Builder 9.0.4.0.33
I tried generating output to Excel using 10GR2 Report builder using SPREADSHEET for destype on the web and it works.
The requirement is for this one customer who is on 9I and they are asking for excel output functiuonality on thier existing reports.
Does oracle has a patch or any other way to generate the exisitng reports on 91 where we can give them a selection like SPREADSHEET in the parameter screen and it would generate the report in excel.
    Thanks
I tried by appending below to the url in the before report trigger.
    &mimetype=application/vnd.ms-excel
which works but, we give other selections to the user too where they can change the desformat to PDF or HTMLCSS...and they all try to open the report output in excel.

    Thank you Lalitk and Dennis,
My team mate wrote a javascript function on before report trigger that checks the paramter selection for desformat and append the mimetype accordingly.Hence, able to achieve the functionality.
    Thanks.

  • Long execution times for TestStand conditional statements

I have two test stations – one here, one at the factory in China that has been operating for about a year. The test program uses TestStand 3.1 and calls primarily dll's developed using CVI. Up until a couple months ago, both test stations performed in a similar manner, then the computer at the factory died and was replaced with a new, faster computer. Now the same test sequence at the factory take three times as long to execute (30 min at the facotry, 10min here).
I have recoded the execution time at various point during the execution, and have found that the extra times seems to be occurring during the evaluation of conditional statements in TestStand (i.e. for loops, if statements, case statements). For example, one particular ‘for’ evaluation takes 30 ms on the test station here, but takes 400 ms at the test station at the factory (note: this is just the evaluation of the for condition, not the execution of the steps contained within the for loop).
The actual dll calls seem to be slightly faster with the new computer.
Also the ‘Module Times’ reported don’t seem to match the actual time for the module for the computer at the factory. For example, for the following piece of TestStand code:
    Label1
    Subsequence Call
    Label2
I record the execution time to the report text in both Label1 and Label2. Subtracting one from the other gives me about 18 seconds. However the ‘Module Time’ recorded for ‘Subsequence Call’ is only 3.43 seconds.
Any body have any ideas why the long execution time with the new computer? I always setup the computers in exactly the same way, but maybe there is a TestStand setting somewhere that I have missed? Keep in mind, both test stations are running exactly the same revision of code.

Got some more results from the factory this morning:
    1) Task Manager shows that the TestExec.exe is the only thing using CPU to any significant degree. Also CPU Usage History show that the CPU Usage never reaches 100%.
    2) I sent a new test program that will log test execution time in more places. Longer execution times are seen in nearly every area of the program, but one area where this is very dramatic is the time taken to return from one particular subsequence call. In this subsequence I log the time just before the <End Group> at then end of Main. There is nothing in Cleanup. I then log the time immediately after returning from this sequence. On the test system I have here this takes approximately 160 ms. On the test system at the factory this takes approximately 14.5 seconds! The program seems to be hanging here for some reason. Every time this function is called the same thing happens and for the same amount of time (and this function is called about 40 times in the test program, so this is kill me).

  • Long encoding times for footage captured with BMD H.264 Pro Recorder

    Hi there,
I'm experiencing very long render times when encoding footage captured with the BMD H.264 Pro Recorder. Watching it encode (either through Premiere CS6, or AME) it looks like the encoding stops for periods of time. With other footage I can encode a 50 minute project in about 15-20 minutes, encoding with footage from the Pro Recorder is almost 1:1 in terms of project length/encode time.
The Pro Recorder uses QuickTime for H.264 captures, so don't know if that is causing issues. Don't seem to have the same issue with other H.264 formats.
    System Info:
    Windows 8 Enterprise (RTM)
HP Z820 with dual hexcore processors, 32GB RAM
Quadro 2000 plus Tesla for Maximus configuration
All latest updates have been installed (yesterday)
    MPE is enabled for project
Also tested on a Z800 with Windows 7 and got same results
Editing the footage is fast and playback through timeline looks great. Anyone have a suggestion?
    Thanks,
    Jeff

QuickTime is still a 32 bit process and the 64 bit PP has to use a sort of "band-aid" to make QuickTime files work right.  It's possible that might slow things down.

    Hello Jason,
the "Wait for work process" means the request was at the dispatcher queue waiting for a work process.
Probably at that time all  the DIA work processes in that instance were occupied.
    was that the case?

  • Long loading times for Safari on iPad Air with iOS8

I've had long loading times in Safari sInce upgrading to iOS8 on my iPad Air 128 GB. Are any of you having the same experience?

Sometimes I question myself, how come that iOS being held in beta for over quarter or even over a half a year, and most certainly long enough in alpha, still comes out so much raw and buggy every release? Sometimes it feels like it's only getting worse concerning the debugging.
I wanted to address the HR manager of the Apple Inc. to query him/her about HIS/HER dedication to the overall work being done. Why, the ****, does Safari get slow, why, the ****, is it unpredictable to define whether a sound stream in Safari's tab will end upon tab closure or not. Morever, why do iPhone iMessages fail to mark a message or a chain as a read one even thought you just really did it. Beyond that miriad of similar questions I have just another three, since when is it official Apple support position to advise you to wipe out your device and install everything back from iTunes, not the cloud? But what is more important, how come that support representative tells you first to back up your buggy iPad, wipe it out and restore from that backup both with iTunes? Finally, we all know how Apple does cherish it's developers, can somebody tell me how, for heavens sake, this website ever possible to exist then — Texts From Xcode?
I don't want neither need to mention that switching between tabs in iOS7 (I have had no chance to test it in iOS8) in Safari never gave you any sure answer whether your tab will be reloaded when you get back or not: whether have you copy any post before leaving, to paste back on return or not.
After all I do still love Apple, I do love people's ideas. I do love the overall outcome, but I want to tell Mr. Cook one phrase I heard when I used to be a head of a department in a medium size company and had to deal with continuous fails of the personnel and most often ended up doing much things myself, it was not the exact situation as with Apple although I hope you can trace a path: If a manager has to do anything besides managing he or she failed to manage one major issue — the personnel one.
