Long Number being displayed when people receive Texts

People who have been receiving texts are getting a long string of numbers, like 13 numbers?? what is this?? how can this issue be resolved?

Great question stacybrownie! Let's get to the bottom of this so that it's not a cause for concern. When a message is sent to/from your own number, it will display as one sent, one received. This makes it display two messages as you are seeing. Let's clarify the second part of your question. Where do you see "Verizon Message" exactly? What is the long number at the end of the text? When did this start and is it with all text messages or only this instance?

The names of my contacts are not showing up when I receive text messages, only the number is showing up. How can I fix this?

This is a HUGE iOS bug.. Following a tip from another poster, I was able to fix the issue (temporarily).
This worked for me on Verizon.
I dialed *228 on my Verizon phone. I pressed "1" to activate it over the air. I then went into task manager and killed all the running apps.. Waited a few minutes.
The next text I got displayed the number correctly!.. Until I rebooted, that is.

Did you update your operating system? If so, did it solve the problem? I have not updated my OS because so many people complained that the newer Os's had problems.

Images are not being display in people search for few users - why ?

In my farm, users having profile picture in UPSA and they are able to see in My Profile page as well.
However when I find user in People search - images are not being display for few users while for others it works.
I have checked picture property which is indexed and then I run full crawl still its same issue.
Following are the settings for Picture Property - would you please let me know why its still not being display in people search ?

have the same issue on my 9630 after upgrading to 624 version. It momentarily shows the previously callers information before showing the new caller's info.

When people receive my messages it comes through as my hotmail and not my contact

When i'm texting other iphones it's coming up on their phone as my hotmail address instead of my contact name.
Is their anyway of chaning this.

Not somewhere else, and this means there is something wrong with your iPhone.
The start new conversations from includes your cell phone number and the email address or addresses if there are multiple email addresses in the "you can be reached at" section.
Try logging out of iMessage with your Apple ID at Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > Apple ID.
Select your Apple ID and at the menu window that appears, select Sign Out.
Follow this by signing back in with your Apple ID.
If no change after that, you need to restore your iPhone with iTunes.

Try using Recovery Manager to reinstall HP Quick Launch Buttons - the procedure for using recovery manager to reinstall Software and Drivers is detailed in the relevant document on the link below.

Is there a way to prevent Itunes' volume from lowering when I receive texts and email?

Whenever I have my iphone connected to a speaker, the volume lowers when I receive a text or email. This can be very frustrating and I'm wondering if there is a setting to prevent this from happening. Can anyone help?

Tablet added, own phone number - can you send and receive text msgs ?

I got the G Pad 8.3" let tablet and it was added as an extra line, so it was given a phone number. Was wondering, since it does have it's own phone number, is it possible to send and receive texts on it using the phone number provided ? I tried just sending a text to that number, but the tablet never received it. Since it does have it's own phone number tho, is there anyway to do this ?

That is a very interesting question! While it does have its own phone number, texting & voice calls can not be enabled for tablet devices. You can, however, use apps like Verizon Messages to send texts back & forth using the phone number for any one of your regular phone lines. There are also 3rd party apps that will give you the ability to text using thier data enabled texts. View your app options in your Google Play store.

I'm in an area that has "extended" 1x coverage...and I am connected to my wifi network.
I dont receive texts if they're sent, then, if I move into an area with LTE coverage: I still don't get those "backed up" texts (which leads me to believe it's not a signal issue?)

How long has passed after the port. Usually it takes up to a week for everything to work right. Usually 1-2 days is what the strive for, but there will be times(on all carriers) where it doesn't go all that smoothly.

Is it possible to set the items number to show when combobox is dropped down. I mean that the default number of items a combobox shows is 8, and i have 9 items at all. I do not want to scroll only for 1 item. Is it possible?

Try using JComboBox.setMaximumRowCount - this should do what you want it to.
