Long page edits are in slow motion
I am creating a long page with text and imbedded pictures. All my edits, placement of pictures, typing in general are in slow motion like the page is getting too large. I have 9 pictures and 3 short videos inserted and lots of text. Any idea why everything is so sluggish?
Too much stuff on the page. Nobody likes scrolling down long pages and 9 images and 3 videos is way too much.
If its sluggish in iWeb, how long will it take to download in the browser? One video with a good text description is enough per page.

Automator/Workflow actions are in "slow-motion" under Mac OS X 10.6.x

after the update to SL some of my Automator Workflows dont work properly.
I do things like copy some part of sentence from a .rtf document and insert it into a input box of a website in firefox.
In 10.5.8 everything worked like a charm. But in 10.6.x the same workflow (also new created) works some times and the other time it slows down and the cursor moves like a slow-motion. Pixel for pixel and i cannot stop the workflow. I only can wait until the workflow is finished (takes in "slow-down" mode 30 minutes) or i do a hardreset. I wonder if anyone else such of this problems with automator under 10.6
I tested the same things with my mac mini that i didnt upgraded and it works like expected.
I think you can reproduce the behaviour, if you create a new .rtf document with numbers from one to twelve and make a workflow where you mark 4 letters, cut, bring firefox to front, paste into form, go to .rtf, mark next 4 letters, cut, go to firefox, paste into form, doing that until there are no more letters.
very curious...the whole automator and in particular the record action was substantially rewritten in snow leopard. and the record action is slow, unreliable and you can't trouble-shoot it. it's a wonder it works at all. the only advice i can give is to use it as little as possible. if at all possible avoid it altogether. if you do need to use it try using keyboard strokes instead of the mouse movement. for example. use command+c and command+v for copying and pasting and use tabbing to choose the correct box on the page.

This problem remains even though I keep removing it....every time I add new Title to the clip, it adds the Page Type to All my titles in the project (edit) area. I use several in my film clips. How do I fix it?
Maybe you know, but just to be clear, you can get rid of it (one by one) - by editing the "Name" field under the Info tab on the title clip

I'm still trying to imagine how anyone could find it useful - who cares what the "type" of the title is, enough to show it at the expense of the title itself? -
I have a copy of Premiere Elements 4.0 which I have been using for quite a while and I have run across a new problem that I have never run into before. I was working on a new project when suddenly my preview area started showing everything in slow motion (complete with slowed sound) and I can't seem to get it back. Even with starting a new project and rendering the work area.
The video size I'm working with is standard YouTube size 760 x 620. It is an HD file too.
My computer specs:

Dual Intel Quad Cores 2.3 a head
16 gig RAM
NVidia GTX 680 MaxCore 55 (1 gig)
1.2 tb avaible HDD space
If anyone can tell me why it suddenly decided to do this, I'd be greatly thankful.

This is all the info Media Info could dig out of the file. Looks correct to me. Doing a MPEG codec has never given me a problem before on this though. -
Google Maps features no longer work or are extremely slow
After upgrading my 1st gen iPhone to 2.0.x, many things don't work as they should. Either at all or there is an incredible delay before working.
One issue is that after you've created directions in Google maps from point A to point B, if you want to reverse the directions, the reverse (s-shaped) button no longer works.

Slow motion is skipping a frame help !!
I am trying to make a skate edit when I slow motion a trick then let it play in regular time the end of slow motion skips plenty of frames what do I doooof
Not a particularly complete answer ... ...
though from what you've stated it's not a particularly capable machine. These programs are resource/hardware intensive.
To "render" a timeline, you select a section, right-click, and from the options that pop up choose "render" that section. It means that PrPro will create a "preview" for that area to use in playback, though any time you change anything on that bit you'll need to render it again.
NOT the same as render-out meaning to export out for other use.

How can you slow mo a clip, and keep the same unaltered audio. I thought detaching audio before doing the slow mo would do it but no the audio is distorted/ and or shortened in length and cannot be lengthened to cover the entire clip again. Is there a way??????

LuisI go back to the events , take an area surrounding the same clip that is long enough to fit the slow motion clip's length. Drag it up to the slow motion clip in the project and choose audio only when the dialog box appears. then adjust the length of this audio clip to fit. Remember to set the slow motion clips audio to zero in the audio adjustment menu.
Covering the slow motion audio used to be a real pain in iMovie6 and is now one of the best features of iMovie9.
I make mostly sports videos so getting background sound from anywhere in the events is easy.

Yes, but only in that definition, no frame by frame playback as you could do in the past. No, the recording will begin once you press the record button. The TSB (time shift buffer) does not capture the begiinin of a show any longer for recording purposes. Capacity or capablities on that early recording statement? If you have cloud enabled, the daily reboot should not affect your recordings.... -
Few questions...
When will slow motion playback be supported?
Are the slow motion ranges saved in the video or is this extra information not stored in the video container?
Will the ability to save video to the camera roll be added?I'll take this feature request to product management. I can't say if or when such support will be available. In the meantime, as a workaround use iMovie to export your video with the slo-mo effect to your Camera Roll so Revel can import the processed version.

I have a 3rd Generation Nano and for some reason my songs on the ipod have slowed down. I mean they sound like they are in slow motion, like they are being played on "Tape" and someone is holding the tape making the song sound funny.
Has anyone run in to this problem and if so is there a fix?
ThanksOne of two options: iTunes 7.x is a bit sluggish to say the leat. So, either turn OFF the option in Advanced > Importing to "Play songs while importing" or don't play the CD whiles its importaning.
Whats happening is that it imports the music off the CD faster than real time - many times faster. SO whiles its reading the data in for importing you are listening to the music in real time, which means the laser of the CD player has to jump back and forth on the CD to both IMPORT the music and PLAY the music.
Easy suggestion: Start importing the music, wait til it mananges to get at least one song fully imported, then goto your iTunes Library, find that newly imported song, then play the imported copy. Then let the import do its thing. WIth todays machines, the import takes only a few minutes. THis is more the fault of how a CD player works than iTunes. -
Loading pages, esp. online, are very slow!
I have not found a problem exactly like mine among other posts and hope someone can help me. Recently, I bought an Airport Extreme card and base station to go online with my iBook G4 (10.3.9) and I am impressed with how easy it was to set up and how trouble-free it is to use. Yet, loading pages and connecting to sites and applications have slowed down. It's so slow I have gone up to the icon to "stop" the loading process and suddenly the screen is displaying the desired site (or showing a partially loaded page). "Reloading" sometimes goes on to producing the full page. Sometimes "stop" produces what I expect: a stopped search. If I hit “load” a second, third, or fourth time the page starts reloading where it left off the last time I stopped it and often speeds up and quickily connects me on the second or third try at reloading. "Loading" has become a gamble: it’s either very slow or reloading that 2nd or 3rd time goes very fast and quickly connects me! It’s like it “catches” on the later tries. I do not understand this.
After a long, slow attempt to load I sometimes get messages like "bad server response" and "failure to connect to server", (among others). Twice, there has been no response at all when I click "GO" or “Preview” or “Enter”. The first time I tried to post on this forum, I successfully previewed my post, then edited it. When I tried to preview it the 2nd time, nothing happened, and I could not submit my post either. There was just no response when I clicked the “buttons”. Then, I tried to go to the previous page and, after a while, finally got the “error” message. It is taking me hours to do what I should be able to do in less than one hour.
Working offline, processing information and loading applications and pages is still pretty slow but nothing like it is online. Spinning beachballs are nearly constant! While processing a query, I find I can get up from the computer, perform miscellaneous tasks, and when I come back, if I'm lucky, the screen will have my desired information - usually, however, it is still trying to load the page.
Searching posts on this forum gave me the idea to increase free space on the hard drive: With a capacity of 37.25 GB, the harddrive had just over 2 GB available... that 2 increased to 6.02 GB after I downloaded and ran Monolinguist (to take out foreign, unnecessary languages) and Onyx (for "maintenance" and "cleaning"). I verified and repaired permissions. I don't know anything else to do!
Can anyone help me correct this slow processing? Is it something to do with the wireless connection or it's configuration? Maybe Monolinguist took out something it shouldn't have? Maybe I didn't do enough "cleaning" or "maintenance" with Onyx? Sometimes a little knowledge has gotten me in more trouble than I could figure out how to get out of... but, I don't think I am quite there yet. I do need help! So please... "HELP!"

also, problem may not be with the AirPort, but with the high-speed router or internet service provider.
if possible, you may want to connect iBook to the internet
with the network cable first - if it works ok, problem is likely with the wireless.
if the iBook works slow even with the cable connection, problem could be software or hardware on iBook or something with the router.
also, if possible you can test an iBook on some other wireless network - if it works ok, problem is within your home network. -
My videos from my iphone are horrible when I transfer them to my PC. How can I improve the video on my PC? Can I just convert the files to WMV? When the video plays the speed is off, it's half slow-motion and staggers into normal play. The clips are slightly cut as well, the clips do not roll continuously. I'm taling about videos that are no more than 2 minutes long. I'm frustrated and I could really use some advice-my kids basketball games is what I'm recording and I'm trying to send them to my family (they are not very tech savvy). Thanks
Not it's only function but one for which it was most admirably suited, which is why I really hope someone can find a work around. I am hoping my post to the Apple feedback may prompt a useful response from Apple and I live in hope that my post here will elicit a useful response from another user. I did not miss the the text at the top of the feedback form but you presumably missed my initial text, 'someone here can explain' or my subsequent 'work around from another user'
Just in case anyone reading this has a large collection of music videos, video podcasts or iTunes U then DO NOT upgrade your iPad to iOS 5. If you are considering purchasing the iPad as a useful mobile device to experience these media organised in your iTunes please don't as you will be wasting your money. (unless someone on this forum knows of a way to undo the mess created by those infallible folks at Apple)

Just updated my iPhone 6 Plus to iOS 8.1. Currently all my slow motion videos no longer run in slow mo and I don't get the settings to set which portion is in slow mo. Anyone else having this problem?

Slow motion and other effects are grayed out
Just switched from iMovie 9 to 11, and can't take advantage of the slow motion, instant replay and other effects, because they are all grayed out in the Clip menu. Why? I do not see the "convert entire clip" option referred to in the help file. What is wrong?
Yes, that is it. The trailers are pretty scripted.
If you want to add an effect to a trailer, first complete the trailer.
Then, in the Project Library List view, right click on the trailer name, and select DUPLICATE. (This will give you a copy of the trailer in case you want to edit it some more.)
Then, with the trailer name still selected, click FILE/CONVERT TO PROJECT.
This will turn your trailer into a normal project, and you can use any of the capabilities of iMovie, including the slow motion and instant replay effects. -
Slow motion clips drastically reduce editing performance
I wondered why one project was slower than a similar sized other project (20 min). I moved the project cursor from the end of the project systemmatically towards the start. As I moved it, response got slower and slower. This was the clue. I started to set 50% clips back to 100% as I went backwards through the project and performace rapidly increased. I had both sound and video tracks in the project. Therefore, the more slow motion clips you use the slower editing will become as you progress towards the start of your project.
Did they import as a single long clip?
I would recommend dragging the long DV clip into MPEG Streamclip (a free app from Squared 5).
You can drag the long clip into MPEG Streamclip and divide the long clip into multiple shorter clips. You might divide it into logical events (all clips shot on the same day) or you could make a new clip every time record/pause button is pressed.
Move the playhead to the in point and press I, move the playhead to the Out point and press O. Then File/Export to DV. Repeat until you have all the clips.
Hint: If you know the date and time the clips were shot, give the files a name in the form clip-yyyy-mm-dd hh;mm;ss.ext where hh is hours in 24 hour time and ext is the current file extension (in your case DV).
Then use FILE/IMPORT/Movies... to import into iMovie as separate events.
That should give you good performance.

Scale batch of images - can I do it ?
