Long press home button when locked calling randon contacts.
Long press of Home button while locked activates voice control which then calls random contacts. This tends to happen when the deviced is in a bag or in my pocket. How can you modify the button behaviour in ios 5 on iPhone4?

When making a call, sometimes, my iPhone 5 , gets stuck on 'Calling' than I have to press END..but still nothing happens, than when I press HOME button, the call app keeps running in the background and it keeps saying CALLING... than I have to wait 2 - 3 minutes and call again.

You all just sold us a bad piece of equipment and have us by the tail with our contracts so none of us can get a new phone without paying full price or re-upping our contract. I just got off the phone last night with your high up tech people (you know, the hidden number we get once we tear into your support people enough), they went into my phone again and still didn't find anything wrong. I about got fired from my job for not getting my calls and texts. The BBB has now been contacted, and I feel your end should shore this up for all of us!

Crap. That's what I was afraid of...Well, since I'm away from home and not near my pc, it sounds like I'm out of luck. The problem is that I need my phone to be at least functional for making and receiving calls. There's an apple store nearby. Perhaps I can go there and have them restore it and at least I'll be able to make and receive calls until I get home and restore from my backup. Does that sound feasible, or am I missing something?

Try restarting it. If this does not work, then hard restart it which is holding the power and home button until the product ***** off. If this does not help either, plug it into the computer and restore it. Make sure you back up the device before you restore it though! Strange thing, hopefully software bug. I press the home button to check time and all that shows is a white screen. It's not the white screen of death because I can simply press the sleep button and then go straight back to what I was doing, pressing home button, etc. and it's fine. I've even taken a screen shot of it with iPhone. All that appears is my true wallpaper, as if it didn't know it wasn't already showing it. Also, it's very random. I can't reproduce. It's pretty minor as I can quickly getout of it but I want it clean.
I've restored, restored as new, reset, turned on/off, everything I can think of. Any ideas?
I also have the speaker distortion bug many are talking about (blown speaker sound).
I have a genius bar appointment Sunday so I'm curious what they say.I suggest going through the usual troubleshooting steps:
1. Reset the phone by pressing both home and sleep/wake buttons until the Apple logo appears (ignore red slider).
2. Setting > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
3. Restore in iTunes using a backup.
4. Restore as a new iPhone
5. Take it to the Genius Bar. -

I've found a new way .. I restart the phone manually. And it works. But sometimes , the Problem reappears and sometimes it doesn't . But when it does , its just too annoying. Therefore, restarting the phone manually is a temporary solution. But what's the permanent solution for it? Let's wait and hope that someone comes up with one.
And I hope this restarting hint solves your problem too.
P.S- instagram or any other app won't make a difference. That's what i think .. Cz I don't have that app on my iPhone. -

Months ago my home button was screwed up, and I was worried. I'd have to wait atleast for a week to get it repaired as I was busy with my exams. So I found a solution. Goto Settings->General->Accessibility.
Scroll down, and under "Physics & Motor", select "Assistive Touch". Toggle it on, and you get lots of options. You don't need to click the home button all the time. It is a very simple widget like stuff, that stays no matter what app you're using and you can do various functions with it. Initially, it's irritating as you see it everywhere. But it fades itself out and appears when needed. After you get used to it, it's really helpful. -

Pressing the Home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button together until you see the Apple logo and then release is called a reset.

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Moreover, the phone does not alert me when I get a text message. Sometimes I receive notice the next day that I received a call or a text message.Follow the basic troubleshooting steps outlined in the user guide... reset, restore from backup, restore as new.
