Long story short. My hard drive crashed. I want to download photos from photo library on Ipad to my new harddrive on my MAC. I lost ten years of photos from the Mac hardrive and all I have are the photos that I synced to my IPAD...Is there anyway I can restore these photos to my new hardrive....Is this even possible? help please !!!!.....

Long story short....I restored my computer to an earlier point using time machine and now all of the previous back-ups are gone. My question has to do with itunes...is it possible to restore my itunes library to the most recent backup because the restore that I did was in march and the latest backup was in may....the reason being is that there were app that i had downloaded that are in my most recent back-up, that were not in the backup I restored to. Is it possible to just restore one application ie)itunes?

Long story short. plugged my i phone into my computer and my sons itune acct. came up ithought it was mine and hit restore now i have all his stuff and mine is gone. turns out i never backed up. Help. I have a new ipad which had 238 photos and it only would share 190 with my phone. I pretty much just deleted his stuff, reset to dfault to get my clock and calendar back. The biggest problem now is my old icons show up but wont launch so I figured I coul delete them then re install them but HIS apple account keeps showing up with his account info. How do I change that to get my name and password back on there?

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your data. It sounds like you need to sign into your own Apple ID again on the iPad, then download your previously purchased iPad apps again. We have an article on how to do exactly this, and it can be found right here:

Also, you may want to consider signing up for a free iCloud account and turning on automatic backups. This will allow you to back up your iPad in the background and without connecting to a computer, so that this issue of data loss will be minimized if this sort of issue ever happens again:

not much response in here which surprises me...
Anyway... AS I am still looking for answers, I will share a couple of points that I realised...
in Airport Utility, I noticed that my iphone MAC address was actually showing as client connected, despite my phone network showing the spinning wheel next to the network name for ever and never actually connecting.
I am currently testing the router mode in Network to be on DHCP and NAT mode with a range from .2 to .200
My phone is now connected....
Everything seems to be ok and happy so far...
strange that this router and phone have worked together for at least a couple of years, the phone works everywhere else, and all other toys connect to my WIFI just fine. the list is as follow:
airport extreme
Zeppelin air
2x apple tv
2 ipads
iphone 4s
2 mac
1 pc
I have litterally just hard reset the router with a pin just now as a last resort... same...
I will leave the router as DHCP & NAT until a potential firmware or OS update... -

long story short i need to set up a password for my linksys wireless router... i tried go to linksys' website link i went ahead and set up a password using instructions from the link above...went to http://192.168.1.1/...clicked on admin tab and set up password... to test out my password i turned on/off my wireless connection on my macbook. when i turned it back on and selected the linksys wireless connection from the dropdown menu on my macbook it did NOT prompt me for a password? what am i doing wrong? why isnt it asking me for a password?

In other words, you must know this password to make changes to the configuration of the router. It is not the encryption key for wireless security. Wireless security is configured on the Wireless Security tab.

Long story short, I'm logged on to my daughters iMessage on my sons old iPod because of personal reasons so I was just wondering, will I receive her text messages? And will I be able to read the text messages she sends out? I may sound like the bad guy here but, it's for her own good that I'm doing this.
Thank you.When you associate a phone number with iMessage that is currently signed into an Apple ID it becomes tied to that Apple ID, so any other device that uses that Apple ID has access to that phone number for iMessage.
eg. I use iMessage on my iPhone which uses the same Apple ID as my iPad, as such I receive iMessages sent to my iPhone on my iPad aswell, and can respond to the same conversation on either. -
Long story short, I downloaded garageband and deleted it in the trash can and emptied it. When i o to the apple store it says that its installed but i cant find it nowhere in the iMac. Please help
Yet another example of why it's a VERY BAD IDEA to do a clean install of Lion unless you are already VERY familiar with how to tweak the Mac OS. There's a reason Apple engineers removed it as an option. To accomplish it you have to erase your disk; not for the faint hearted.
Do you have a backup? PLEASE don't tell us you did this without a robust backup.
You erased the operating machine, so your computer went to the only place it could find one, the Recovery partition. And it's minimal, so it has to download everything in small chunks to reinstall itself. So yeah, it could take 10 hours.
Here's another option. Do you still have the original disks that came with your machine? Put one in and restart from it. You can reinstall your old system much faster. Then go to the Mac App Store and your purchase history and see if you can redownload Lion (I think that still works).
And this time just do yourself a favor and install per Apple's instructions. When the machine starts into Lion, use Setup ***'t (the first thing that fires up) to migrate from your backup.

It may be same computer but if a new, empty, library has been created then it is not the same library your device was synced with...
For general library squiffiness following an upgrade or crash the easiest thing is to restore your last backup, but I guess if it were that simple you wouldn't be here.
Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup! For example grab SyncToy 2.1, a free tool from MS. This can be used to copy your entire iTunes library (& other important data folders) onto another hard drive or network share. You can then use SyncToy periodically to synchronise or echo your library to the backup. A preview will show which files need to be updated giving you a chance to spot unexpected changes and during the run only the new or updated files will be copied saving lots of time. And if your media is all organised below the main iTunes folder then you should also be able to open the backup library on any system running the same version of iTunes regardless of drive letter or path.

I downloaded itunes onto my new computer, i connected my iphone during the updating process itunes failed and i lost all my purchased music from my iphone and can no longer retrieve them. I would like to know how i can reinstate the lost music please.
When you are done with this issue, consider the computer back at the office may still
have access to your iTunes account, and it should be de-auhorized. You can do that
remotely, but be sure you carefully do not mess up your other computer iTunes libraries.

Try this ..
On your Mac open System Preferences > iCloud
Deselect the box next to: Notes
Then reselect it.
Give iCloud a few minutes to re sync the data.

Is iTunes Match still turned on on your iPhone? If not, you need to turn it back on.
If it is still on, go to settings, music app and turn off match- sign out of iTunes Store. Reboot iPhone, sign back into iTunes and turn on match. Poem music app. Does this help?
