Hi,
Max limit for each line is 72 characters.
it will be varying from transaction to transaction starting from 64 to 72.

In DeskI, what's the maximum for "Limit size of long text objects"? 2000?

In Universe Designer, we have a setting which is "Limit size of long text objects", it can control how many characters can be displayed for long text objects.
The problem is that in DeskI, we can only display 2000 characters even we set 2500 or more in Universe Designer by "Limit size of long text objects". But if we use the same Universe & same Database, WebI can show 2500 or more characters for long text objects.
So does it mean in DeskI the maximum value for "Limit size of long text objects" is 2000?

Hi Jason,
Check that the object in the universe is set to data type "long text".
Also check that the object itself is not limiting the length of the string, as well as that the entire string is actually in the database... the data type here could also be the issue.

Text Input Limit

Can someone please help me to find out about the text input limit on Nokia phones when writing blog posts with third-party applications like Opera Mini? I can't find it in the specifications. For example, I am interested in Nokia N70 ME but I also want to write long blog posts with it. Is the limit 5524 as with N80 or less? Please help as I need to make a decision in a few days. .

the maximum that you can input using opera mini, in one post is 5524 characters(that is mentioned on the top).

Maximum limit of total length of all the characters for a custom OM infotyp

Hi,
Can anyone let me know whats the maximum limit of total character length for a OM infotype.
I need to create an OM infotype using PPCI Tcode.
When I am defining the HRI Structure....when total length of all the field is exceeding 900 I am unable to create infotype....I want to confirm whether it is some configuration problem or whether max limit set by SAP is 900 ?

Upload long text from excel file into internal table

I need to upload service master(T-code : AC02) data alongwith long text.Now i have data in excel as: Service no(ASMD-ASNUM) and corresponding long text for it.
I am facing problem in getting entire lontext from excel into my internal table.It only takes till 255 characters i think.Any help in this regard woulg be highly appreciable.

what is the maximum length of your long text.
and you can try with more than 255 chars. in the internal table it will take , if you want check it.
i'm in 4.7 ,5.0 version, what about you ..

Long Text in Main Window

Hi,
I am trying to print 'Item Text' from invoice just below each item description(same cell of 'item descripotion' is used to print 'Item Text' in MAIN WINDOW ) in smartform. I had used an include text.
For Ex: long text maintained is

If suppose maximum size of cell can occupy only 3 lines of above long text , then it should only print remaining last two lines on the next page .

Alert long text not visible

Hello,
I have a problem triggering an alert with dynamic text out of a bpm. The alert is triggered correctly (I can't see any dump in tzhe log files), I can see the alert in my alert inbox, but the long text isn't filled. I'm using SAP Netweaver 2004s SP 9 (SAP Basis 7.00).
Then I tried the same preocedure in a SAP Netweaver 2004 SP 15 (SAP Basis 6.40) with the same settings, and it worked fine. I can see the long message in the alert inbox. The only differnce was, that in 2004s the alert classification 'Webflow Alert' didn't exist, so I had to create it.
Does anybody know, where the problem could be?

Hi,
Just check that the length of the message is not more then the required limit. If thats the case it sometimes does not show the message.
Else, just try re-activating that step again by making some dummy chnages.
This problem happens at times when you are using dynamic variables .

Currently iam doing an userexit. In that i want to display error messages. and if we click on message it will display the long text. My question is i want to display field values in the long text. Under the long text's &system_response& i want to display a field value.

Hi Chinna,
Within short and long texts, you can use placeholders, which can be replaced with the content of data objects using the MESSAGE statement. A maximum of four character-type placeholders are permitted; they are indicated by #&i# in short texts, and by #&Vi&# in long texts, where i = [1, 4]. If #&# itself is to be displayed as part of the text, it must be specified as #&&# in short texts and as "&" in long texts.
To add some detail on how to create variables in Long text, you have to go to 'commands' and in symbol option provide the variables like
&V1& &V2& and so on.

Long Text printing in SAP SCRIPT

Hi Experts,
I have a requirement of printing long text in sapscript.
There are 15 condition types for each item in sales order and one long text for each condition record.
Each long text has multiple lines i.e. for one long text it may have 2 lines and other may have 1 or 3 lines or etc.
My trials :
I used read_text() function mudule in a routine which is being called from the sap script to get the whole long text which has 5 lines and is stored in an internal table.
Now is there a way to transfer the whole internal_table data as a whole into the script i.e. is there a way to transfer the table from the routine to the sapscript.

Long Text Field in Transparent Table

Hi,
I have a requirement more than 3 fields in table with more than 4000 character and same data or text to print using smartforms.
I have taken string data type in transparent table but maximum 3 fields can be string data type in a table.
And after save the data in table it automatically convert into upper case but it should be same as input.
So what is the solution for this type of requieremnt means how to sovle this issue.
i.e.
field type
a    char key field
b    char key field
c    string
d    string
e    string
f     string
g    string
and so on..

GL Long text in FB50 tcode

Hi,
We are trying to add GL long text into FB50 transaction screen. None of
the existing screen varaints have this field. The structure ACGL_ITEM
does not have the field TXT50 which is the corresponding table field
for GL long text.
What is the best way to get GL long text in FB50 transaction?. Is it
possible to add from the exisitng screen variants/ transaction variants?Please help.

How about trying follow step?
1.Make the Customer Field for G/L Long Text's view.
: You make the setting in Customizing for Financial Accounting (New) under Financial Accounting Global Settings (New) -> Ledgers -> Fields -> Customer Fields
2.Assign your customer fields to a screen variant.
: You make the setting in Customizing for Financial Accounting (New) under General Ledger Accounting (New) -> Business Transactions -> G/L Account Posting - Enjoy -> Include Customer Fields in Enjoy Transactions
I have never been trying over method, but i guess it's available.

can we incesss the the number of lines in long text,right now i am able to enter only 5 line i want to make it 10......the t-code is a customized one.

There is no limit as such for entering long text lines.
In the Text editor you can enter any number of lines.
we have to fetch it using READ_TEXT fun module and to display in the report/script.

There is no character counter when I text. Will too long texts always break up into multiple texts, regardless of receiving carrier?

If over the limit for your carrier and/or for the receiving carrier, the SMS should be broken up into multiple SMS.
