Long time synching Itunes to my Ipod

Not sure what i'm doing wrong now but it's literally taking my 15 gig Ipod about 20 minutes to synch when I only load one new song when it would be done in less then a minute w/ the older version.
Do you know what i'm doing wrong w/ this new itunes?

You are not doing anything wrong. Many people have noticed slower sync with new iTunes version.
I have noticed during sync that there is a lot of disc activity even with only few file changes. I am guesing that it is checking the contents of the iPod against the library in iTunes before actually syncing. I timed the last sync I did, 8 minutes of very heavy disc activity followed by 1.5 minutes transfer, then 1 minute of "closing" forget what it said exactly, then I got the OK to disconnect message.

Synching iTunes with my iPod/iPhone

Something that is killing me. In my iTunes library there's a category called "Top 25 Most Played", which is updated by the times I listen to the songs in my library. When I synch my iPod/iPhone and look to this list in my devices I see that the songs are completely different when comparing iTunes list x iPod/iPhone. I restored both devices and the problem still persists. Any suggestions?

Why it takes a very long time while itunes backup my iphone?

I am using a iPhone 5S with iOS8.
When I sync it with itunes, step 2 of 7, Backing up, takes a very long time, it took more than a hour.

I received an ipod nano for Christmas. After installing the cd into my computer to download the software, nothing seemed to happen. There is no icon on my desk top. Not only that, I can no longer open up my itunes. There is no error message either. When I click on the itunes icon, nothing happens at all. Can someone help get my itunes back???

HT1386 Help Synching iTunes to an iPod

I can see my iPod in iTunes and it shows I'm synching but no dtat has moved. iPod and my Macbook ASir are both on the latest OS. Any ideas?

Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
If so have you done anything like update iTunes on the computer since it last successfully synced?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Does any media now sync to the iPod?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?

Long Time Sync - iTunes

I have a iPod Classic 160GB (1st Gen), with 117GB of 25000 songs and 21 Clips.
To manage the statistic information, Play Count ..... , I use the as defined in iTunes to sync (Manually manage the Music and Videos is disable).
My library is in a external Ethernet Hard Disk, to access the disk via Finder or also FTP i have no problems of speed, also to play songs from the iTunes through the Hard Disk no problems.
but to sync the iPod with iTunes ... it is minimum 12 hours ... it just *****
the itunes Liberary.XML has 48Mb, should not be a problem to read and write such small file.
Does anybody have similar problem?
Any clue what to do to improve the performance?

I keep Norton Utilities running constantly.
Usually, the only applications I see running in the dock are the Widget application and the Finder (and Itunes, of course).
This morning, it must have taken 20 minutes from when Itunes told me the Sync was completed. I acutally turned off Itunes and shut down my computer. I restarted the computer and re-synced the ipod on itunes.
I don't have 20 minutes to waste!

Can no longer sync from Itunes to my Ipod. It stays stuck on "waiting for changes to be applied".

I get to the part where it says "waiting for changes to be applied". And it stays stuck on there. It's been going on since yesterday. I've never had this problem before.

I downloaded the latest update of iTunes 11.4 today - Columbus Day. Went on to purchase songs. Then attached classic iPod to sync. upon attached usb to iPod, the "Do Not Disconnect" message appeared. Waited a long time and iTunes would not recognize my iPod. (10 minutes minimum. Gave up counting) Shut down iTunes and restarted. Still no recognition. Restarted computer - Wouldn't start. Unplugged USB and then it started. The only way to get computer to start up again was to unplug - now I'm worried that I've just screwed up my iPod. Upon starting back up - plugged iPod back in - sell no recognition. Am I up a creek with no paddle now? My iPod- touch is recognized and I was able to update it successfully. With that being said, it took a heck of a lot longer than it normally does post update. Was this the update that no longer likes classic iPods?
I have a brain injury and the classic is helpful at night when I can't fall asleep and I can play soothing stuff to help calm my brain down. The touch is way to bright and can cause lots of bad reactions due to light sensitivity - way too much blue light to trigger issues. The click wheel doesn't take so many moves to get to what I need.
Thank you to anyone that can help save my classic. medical bills are high and I can't afford to buy a new one. Two hours later, my classic still says do not disconnect and my computer does not recognize.

1. Try Resetting the iPod. Hold Select and Menu for 6-10 seconds - until you see the Apple Symbol.
2. Use iPod Updater to restore your iPod to factory settings.
See if those two steps clear up your problem.

IPod taking a long time to update/restore, and won't turn on!

I literally JUST bought my iPod, like 2 and a half hours ago. When I opened the package, I immediatley plugged it in to the computer. I set it up, putting in information. I tried putting my music onto my iPod, but only some of it went on. In the middle of syncing, a box popped up saying "cannot be synced". But that's not the main problem. I disconnected my iPod from my computer and then plugged it back in. I opened iTunes and it asked if I wanted to install the new update. I clicked yes and it took FOREVER to update. The bar would barely move; on my computer AND iPod! I disconnected it after waiting a long time. I disconnected the iPod from the computer. During these processes I had turned my iPod completely off. I tried turning it back on, but it wouldn't work. I tried charging it, but nothing would work and nothing would show up. I plugged it in again and then iTunes said that I need to restore and update my iPod, and I can't use iTunes until I do it. I said ok, and now it's in the middle of doing it and won't even move. I've been sitting here for a very long time now. I tried disconnecting, but nothing showed up on my iPod home page in iTunes. I'm very frustrated right now, my iPod will not work! And whenever I disconnect my iPod now the bar and Apple sign is still there. PLEASE HELP!

This is a new profile added through patch 8642882 .
This patch adds profile QP: Consider Manual Linegroup Adjustments.
This profile option is to ignore group of lines modifiers while making pricing engine call for getting manual modifiers
Value 'Yes'-- Line group modifiers will be considered for manual modifier pricing engine call.
Value 'No'-- Line group modifiers will not be considered for manual modifier pricing engine call.
Default value is NULL which is similar to value 'Yes'.
The patch also adds a procedure Get_Manual_All_Lines_Status in the QP_UTIL_PUB package.
This api will be used to determine whether all lines need to be sent to the engine while making a engine call for manual modifiers.
Earlier the logic was built in Order Management code but now has been moved to
QP_UTIL_PUB package with some changes to resolve the performance issue.

Takes a long time to read

All of the sudden my iPod is taking a really long time to read on my computer. I will plug it in a it will take a long time for iTunes to open up. After it finally updates the iPod and I decide to update it again, it takes forever for it to read. I look at my iPod and it just stays at the Charged screen or whatever is on there. I have tried restoring it numerous times and it still does it. It will even take a really long time for it to recognize my iPod in the iPod updater. I have tried everything. It is weird because my iPod works fine and this is just happening all of the sudden.
I have also tried reinstalling the iPod updater and iTunes and still doesn't work.

Try opening iTunes first, and then connecting the iPod.
If it is showing the charged screen and shows up in iTunes, then go to file-->update iPod.
Also, how long is long?

TS1425 ipod nano won't synch, i plugged it in to computer after not synching for a long time and it wouldn't install a new driver and now itunes doesn't even recognize it when i plug it in

ipod nano won't synch, i haven't purchased anything in a long time and haven't synched with the computer just charged on car charger. when i plugged the nano in it tried to install a driver and that failed and now the computer and itunes won't even recognize that the nano is plugged in.

i have an old ipod touch that i have not used in a very long time, and im having trouble gettign it to turn on. ive had it on a charger for over an hour now and still nothing hs changed. i just updated my itunes to the current version they haev so i know its not an itunes problem its rather a problem with the old ipod touch itself. im leaving for deployment soon and im trying to get this fixed without having to send it in. Well, two thoughts.
The battery has completely discharged and will take overnight to recharge, so don't expect much in an hour.
The battery has deep discharged and is now dead. It will never recharge and should be replaced.

Copy it from your old computer or your backup copy of your old computer.

That is precisely what my mid-2010 MacBoook Pro 13 was doing before the drive finally died after an Apple Genius rebooted it a dozen or so times. I have since read about the exact same thing happening to others, including a writer for The Atlantic magazine who had never had an issue with a Mac before. Do a back-up ASAP to make sure you don't lose anything and see about replacing the HDD. It is only about $140 for a new drive. The real issue is if you lose your data, too. So, make sure you do that back-up!
