Longer Burning Time With iTunes 6

I really like 6 (even though I wrote before that I would never upgrade from 4.7.1 unless I had to, which I did since hardly any titles showed up in the Music Store with 4.7.1). However, has anyone else noticed that it seems to take longer to burn a CD with 6? By that, I mean it seems to take a longer period of time to start the burning process ("preparing disc" seems to be on the screen for several minutes before the burning process begins). Once the process starts it seems to be as fast as when I had 4.7.1. I also noticed that when the process first begins, the bar moves quickly along with the words "checking playlist". I never noticed that with 4.7.1

Similar problem here.... my calendars sync but I get an error trying to set up the contacts syncing and it won't sync them.
I got totally screwed when they took the iPod and .mac syncing out of iSync, cause I also sync my phone and Palm, and syncing either of those doesn't work right either.

  • Computer freezes when trying to burn cds with itunes

I don't know if this would help other people with issues related to burning cds with itunes but here it goes:
My computer running Windows XP SP2 and itunes 7.6.1.9 suddently stopped burning cds via itunes about a couple of versions ago. Burning would start correctly, however the operation never completed successfully, in fact, the computer would completly freeze before getting too far. The computer had to be hard booted, meaning I had to hold the power button to kill it. The only solution that I've come up with that effectively corrects this problem is as follows:
    Close itunes
Go to Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services
Look for IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service and open it (double-click it):
If not started, start it by clicking the Start button
    Select Startup Type as Automatic
Go to Recovery tab and set first, second and subsequent failures to Restart the Service
Click Apply and then Ok to close window
Look for iPod Service and open it:
If not started, start it by clicking the Start button
    Select Startup Type as Automatic
Click Apply and then Ok to close window
Restart itunes, try burning a cd from a playlist in itunes. There is no guarantee that this will solve your issue, but it is worth a shot, it has worked for me so far.

  • Help Please: Unable to Import or Burn CDs with iTunes

    Hello,
At some point over the last few updates I seem to have lost the ability to import or burn CDs with iTunes. I've done so many times in the past with no problem however when I attempt to do so now my entire PC restarts or in a few cases gives me the generic Windows "iTunes needs to close" error.
So far I've made sure my PC is not overheating. I've ruled out spyware or viruses using AVG and CCleaner. I've swapped out power supplies only to have the problem continue. I am able to listen to music and/or burn CDs and DVDs in both of my drives using other applications with no problem. I've tried fresh, clean installs of iTunes all the way back to 8.02 with no success. I've even gone as far as to completely reformat Windows only to have this problem continue.
Any help or suggestions would be most welcome. I will be glad to provide any requested information, thank you.

I have missing registry files and warning that says to reinstall which I've tried unsuccessfully. Hopefully they'll find a fix before I lose my 500 songs I've purchased...does anyone back up on a external hard drive - any suggestions? Thanks

Same problems here. I have 2 different computers and tries 2 different CD-Rs and I found out that it has soemthing to do with the new "Protected AAC audio file" format.
Open iTunes, click on music, on the listing side of the screen right click on name, and then click on "kind".
I bet you can't burn anything with the "Protected AAC audio file."
No solutions yet, so just don't buy anything else from iTunes for now.

  • IPod Touch no longer syncs wirelessly with iTunes

My 4th gen iPod Touch (IOS 5.1) has been syncing wirelessly with iTunes on my Mac for months without a problem.
Suddenly, the iPod no longer appears in the "Devices" area of iTunes, as it always has.
"Sync using wireless" is enabled in iTunes
iPod Touch is still connected to my wireless network, and has connectivity
Macbook is connected to my wireless network, and has connectivity (Macbook unibody OS X 10.7.3)
iPod Touch is plugged into an external Apple charger.
If I connect the iPod Touch to the Macbook, then disconnect the cable, the iPod immediately disappears from the "Devices" listing.
In the past it has always remained listed as a Device there.
I am now unable to sync wirelessly. Ideas?

    - Try resetting the iPod, nothing is lost.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - And rebooting the computer

  • My iPhone4 with iOS5 no longer synchronizes apps with iTunes 10.5.0.142

    Hi,
    Yesterday I succesfully updated:
    - my iPhone4 to iOS5.0
    - my iTunes soft to 10.5.0.142 (PC, windows XP)
I was able to get back all my music, apps, contacts... back to the iPhone after have launched a restore from my iPhone connected to my PC and iTunes.
At that time I was able to sync the iPhone and my PC.
But then I updated an app directly on my iPhone (using the App Store app), and from that time I am no longer able to synchronize my apps with iTunes.
Indeed, each time I launch a full synchronization from iTunes, even if it seems that I am able to synchronize everything else, when iTunes starts to synchronize the apps I get a message saying that the synchronization is not possible because it is not possible to know which apps are installed on the iPhone (the exact message in french is: "iTunes ne peut pas synchroniser d'apps avec l'iPhone ... car il est impossible de determiner les apps installees sur l'iPhone".
Would someone already faced this issue/have any idea on what the issue is please?
    Thanks,
    Michael.

  • Burning cds with itunes and Windows Vista

It seems like my problems with itunes are never ending on my HP laptop with Windows Vista. Originally, itunes screwed up my disc drive, but then I downloaded the 64 bit version of it and that turned out ok. However, whenever I started itunes it says it wasn't downloaded properly and I won't be able to import or burn cds. I've downloaded it before multiple times to see if that message would go away when I started it up, but it didn't. That was fine for a while because I never burn cds but today I wanted to and it wouldn't work. It would say Disc Recording not found. So, I thought I should upgrade to the new itunes 8.1 but I was afraid to because it might screw up the disc drive again. And of course, it did. I even downloaded the 64 bit version. So I guess my question is, how can I install the 64 bit version without that error message and be able to burn cds?

    paul's onto it.
if you run your DVD/CD diagnostics (in itunes "help > DVD/CD diagnostics", select DVD/CD diagnostics) and you see a 2380 error showing up down near the bottom of the diagnostics (you may need to scroll down a bit), try reinstalling the 64-bit version of the GEAR drivers iTunes uses for importing and burning.
here's a link through to the GEAR drivers. note that there are two different versions of the 64-bit drivers. be sure to get the one that matches your hardware:

According to the accompanying Apple information the answer is no. However Apple do say if you also want to play other older QuickTime movie files then you will need QuickTime.
The conclusion is that if your only using music, or your only using movies purchased via the iTunes Store then it seems you no longer need QuickTime installed in Windows with iTunes 10.5.

  • Why do I get lots of noise in my photos on the D30 at long exposure times with 100 ISO speed? Help!

So I'm using a Canon D30 (3.1 megapixel). My ISO speed is set to 100, but when take phots at very slow shutter speeds I get a lot of noise. And I mean a lot. Can anybody help?

Long exposure time is the 2nd main way to get noise in an image.  Not a lot you can do other than post processing.  How long an exposure?  Perhaps a compromise like ISO 200 and a shutter that is half as long (twice as fast) would be slightly better if you played around with it.  Or perhaps that would be even worse.

  • Issues with burning playlists with itunes 11.1.3

When I try to burn a playlist to a disc, itunes freezes. I am using an imac running on Mavericks with two user accounts. When I try to burn a playlist with the other user account it just works. So seems to be an user specific issue. Any suggestions?
    Rgds, Bernard

    You're welcome
If you're happy with iTunes 11 then I'd probably stay with that.  The last two versions of iTunes 12 (12.1.0 and 12.1.1) seem to suffer from multiple issues on 64-bit Windows systems (not specific to Windows 7), and even though most of these are resolvable I'm not sure its worth the effort to do so if your earlier version is working for you.  I would wait for 12.2 (or whatever the next major release is) and even then check back here to see what reports there are of full resolutions to the issues in 12.1.
Having said that, I'm running 12.1.1 without problems on four systems (three in daily use) - two Win 7 / 64-bit, one Win 7 / 32-bit, and one Win 8/1 / 64-bit.

  • Can no longer burn CDs in iTunes

I have successfully been burning CDs in iTunes until recently. I can now no longer burn an audio CD. The CDs I am using are the same as before (CD-R, same make etc) and I am trying to burn albums purchased through iTunes. No error message comes up, it just doesn't burn. I have the latest version of iTunes loaded but can't remember when I loaded this. Perhaps my problems have occurred since then? Can anyone help?

  • IPhone no longer can sync with iTunes on Mac Intel Mini

I have an original iPhone (not 3G). It was working fine until today. Today when I booted my mac mini, Software update said that there was an iTunes update. I downloaded and installed version 8.2 of iTunes. When I connected my iPhone to my mac mini (Intel running 10.4.11), which is what I use to sync my iPhone, iTunes didn't see it. It was as if the iPhone wasn't connected to the mac.
I thought maybe it was the cable. So, I switched cables. It still didn't sync (or even see the iPhone).
I have been charging my iPhone using a wall adapter, so I tried both cables with the wall adapter. The iPhone charged just fine using both cables.
I used the cables and tried to sync my iPod Classic (120GB) with iTunes. I can sync my iPod Classic with iTunes just fine with either cable.
I have an 17" Powerbook G4 running 10.5.7 and I thought I'd try to see if it could see the iPhone. The Powerbook is running iTunes 8.1.1, I haven't upgraded it yet. I was able to see the iPhone and I could try to sync, but the iPhone isn't sync'ed with that iTunes library so the sync doesn't do anything, but at least the Powerbook sees the iPhone and connects with it (and iTunes sees the iPhone as well).
I'm upgrading to iTunes 8.2 to see if the Powerbook can still see the iPhone (just seeing if it was the iTunes upgrade that broke the iPhone sync). Well, the upgrade on the powerbook didn't seem to hurt its ability to see the iPhone.
I'm back at square one. My mac Intel mini running 10.4.11 can't see my iPhone and nothing I do seems to help it see the iPhone, but I can sync my ipod classic using the same cable.
I'm now wondering if there is something wrong with the iPhone. Has anyone else seen this problem?

Sometimes a glitch can happen with an itunes upgrade that can cause itunes to no longer recognize your iphone. If you have already tried to restart your computer and tried different usb ports, I would try this:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1224?viewlocale=en_US
    Hope it helps

  • HELP! I updated my software and can no longer burn cds using iTunes

I followed all of the troubleshooting steps for not being able to burn a cd. I was able to burn cds with other cd burning programs installed on my pc, but itunes was the only program that would not burn the cd correctly. itunes would go through the entire process of burning: check media, check playlist, burn cd, finish burning cd. itunes would even ask me if I wanted to import the new cd into my playlist after it finished "burning" my cd but there was never anything on the cd. I also tried playing the cd using other programs and in other equipment but it never worked. I updated my software recently and I thought I could try to go back to an older version because I never had this problem before. However, when I uninstalled the newer version and tried to reinstall an older version of itunes, the older version of itunes refused to open because my music library was apparently created by the newer version of itunes. I don't know what to do to be able to burn cds again. At this point, I would much rather use another cd burning program but itunes is the only program that will burn the songs that I've purchased from itunes onto a cd.
