  • Getting BSOD error while booting

    Hi,
I am getting BSOD error while booting using bootable pendrive.
Could you guys please provide the possible solution

    Hello,
To troubleshoot the issue, you need review the dump file. We may find out the which file or driver is triggering a BSOD. And in most cases, BSOD is triggered by driver issue.
Are you doing OS deployment via bootable pendeivce? How do you created the boot image?

  • I have Windows 8.1 installed on my Macbook Pro Retina (Late 2013) and it keeps on crashing with a WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR BSOD error

I have Windows 8.1 installed on my Macbook Pro Retina (Late 2013) and it keeps on crashing with a WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR BSOD error. Is this an issue with the bootcamp driver not compatible with Windows 8.1? or is there something I can do to fix this.
I also keep getting WHEA-Logger Event-ID 19 warning events in the Windows Event Logs with the following details.
A corrected hardware error has occurred.
    Reported by component: Processor Core
    Error Source: Corrected Machine Check
    Error Type: Cache Hierarchy Error
    Processor APIC ID: 3
The details view of this entry contains further information.

likely win8.1 dont have official bootcamp support yet
1/3 of my logins into win8.1 result in a fatal bluescreen
was the same deal when I installed win8 before official support
and when the drivers with official support was released the issue went away

  • HP 650 notebook BSOD error code : 0xc0000034

I have a HP650 notebook (Windows 8.1) and have for about 20 months. I ran a battery check and it said to calibrate it so i did so by going into the HP diagnostic test or something by pressing F2/escape on start-up. I ran it fine and it went for about 2 hours and upn completion it said it worked. It then restarted the laptop and i got a BSOD. It read "Your PC needs to be repaired. The boot configuration data file is missing some required information. File /BCD . Error code:0xc0000034. You'll need to use the recovery tools on your installation media." After looking online for a couple of hours someone told me to run an elevated command prompt and type in the following in order: "Bootrec /fixmbr, Bootrec /fixboot, Bootrec /scanos. Bootrec /rebuildbcd". After doing so it worked and i backed up everything on my laptop. My question is why did this happen. It must of had to been something to do with the battery configuration. Anyway,  how can i stop this from happening in the future? Will it happen again or is it fixed as i typed those specific commands above and it worked or are the commands just a temporary fix or something? Also can i run the battery check again just to double check it worked or do you think i will get the BSOD error message again?
    Thanks

    Hello, @arsenal234123
To get your issue more exposure I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums since the HP 650 Notebook PC is a commercial product. You can do this at Notebook - HP ProBook, ZBook, EliteBook, Compaq, Slate/Tablet PC, Armada, LTE.
The support page for your product may be helpful in the meantime:

  • BSOD Error Windows 2008 R2 Terminal Server

    Hi guys
I have a unique issue on a Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise Terminal Server where it keeps blue screening every so often (from every 2 or 3 days to some times once a week) with the exact same BSOD error. After countless hours Googling and researching I am simply
at a dead end and desperately require some guidance if possible. I have ran malware bytes and other tools and the TS does not have any malware or viruses. I have ran a chkdsk and everything is also okay with that.
It has happened about 5 times now with the same errors every time:

    Hi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
The problem which you are facing seems to be due to ntoskrnl.exe. There might be some corruption in ntoskrnl.exe file. It’s responsible for various system services such as hardware virtualization, process and memory management, thus making it a fundamental part
of the system. It contains the cache manager, the executive, the kernel, the security reference monitor, the memory manager, and the scheduler.
Please check below articles to fix the issue of ntoskrnl.exe.

  • Tips for blue screen (BSOD) errors with Windows Vista and Intel Turbo Memory on T61/T61p

Important note: The symptoms and solutions described below address only a small subset of the possible causes for blue screen errors, aka BSOD. This information can help address blue screen errors specifically related to Turbo Memory, but may not solve errors related to other issues. Please read through the instructions completely, make sure they apply to your system, and after attempting the solutions please post back with your feedback for the community.
Some users may experience random blue screen errors with ThinkPad
systems running Windows Vista with Intel Turbo Memory hardware. These
blue screens may occur during normal usage on the system or they may
occur when booting into Windows Vista. Blue screens related to the
Intel Turbo Memory hardware may reference a stop code of 8086 with
    memory address locations of {0, 0, 0, 0}.
There are two main steps that you can take to help resolve blue screen issues related to Intel Turbo Memory.
Step 1: Update Intel Turbo Memory Driver
If the driver version is before version 1.0.1.1004-7.0.3.1001, please
    update to this version.
To determine what version of the Intel Turbo Memory driver is installed:
    1.    Click Start, then click Control Panel.
    2.    Click System and Maintenance.
    3.    Click System.
    4.    Click Device Manager.
    5.    Expand the Storage controllers category.
    6.    Double-click Intel Flash Cache Logic Chip.
    7.    Click the Driver tab. Then you will see the driver version (for example, 1.0.1.1004).
The new driver and installation instructions can be found here.
Note: The Intel Matrix Storage Driver is updated with this package.
    Step 2: BIOS version
If your BIOS version is older than those listed below, please update to the version listed.
How to check your BIOS version:
    Turn off the system.
    Turn on the system.
While the To interrupt normal startup, press the blue ThinkVantage button message is displayed at the lower-left area of the screen, press the F1 key.
    The
BIOS Setup Utility menu will be displayed. If you have set a supervisor
password, the BIOS Setup Utility menu appears after you enter the
    password.
Check BIOS Version and Embedded Controller Version.
    Turn off the system.
    System BIOS versions:
    ThinkPad T61/T61p (14.1 inch widescreen with IEEE 1394 model) - BIOS version 1.22 (7LET52WW)
    Please
remember that these updates do not solve every possible system blue
screen, but they do resolve several problems related to the Intel Turbo
    Memory driver.

    Thanks Tim,
I do have my T61p fully up-to-date to the latest drivers and updates (via System Update and the Drivers&Software web page when the former is not that up-to-date).
At the moment the most recurrent problem is this:
    http://forum.lenovo.com/lnv/board/message?board.id=T_Series_Thinkpads&thread.id=55
which has been longly speculated here:
    http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=47755
My other angst is the boot-time chkdsk hang-up problem:
    http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=52765&highlight=chkdsk
I just wonder if this purely a Vista issue when using NV cache, the disk spinning down at almost exactly 1 hour from the beginning of the chdsk operation seems too much of a coincidence.
    This is my T61p configuration:
    Intel Core 2 Duo T7700 2.4GHz
    BIOS version 1.26-1.06
    4GB RAM 2 SO-DIMMs
nVidia Quadro FX 570m with 512MB VRAM
    WUXGA LCD
    Seagate 7200.2 160 GB
    4GB RAM 2 SO-DIMMs

    Dear Tim,
First off, many thanks for the tips for resolving BSOD with Vista + Turbo Memory on X61.  I've been suffering from this BSOD for countless times since I bought in my X61 7673-CW9 in April 2008.
Even prior to having the pleasure to visit this wonderful forum, I followed both steps as indicated, and updated my Intel Turbo Memory driver to 1.5.0.1013 and my BIOS to 7NETB4WW (2.14).  However, the BSOD recurrs.
For the past two months, I've recovered my system to factory default settings using Rescue and Recovery for over twenty times, each time with the latest Intel Turbo Memory driver and BIOS.  Notwithstanding that, BSOD recurrs.
During these painful experiences, I tried two options: 1) making my X61 up-to-date by using System Update and Windows Update (including Vista SP1 or excluding Vista SP1); 2) keeping my X61 the status as factory default (i.e. without updating through either System Update or Windows Update (the automatic/scheduled update function of both is turned off)).  In either case, BSOD recurrs.
I'm 100% positive that the BSOD does not arise from any hardware or software/firmware I install.  I never install any hardware (e.g. RAM).  And, it is not caused by any software/firmware I install: the clear and unequivocal evidence is that at one time,I encountered BSOD while having restored back to factory setting and booting for the first time.
I live in Taiwan, and I seldom heard this BSOD here.  All of my friends (as most of Taiwan residents) using X61 operate in Traditional Chinese environment, whereas I operate in English environment.  In Taiwan, when booting for the first time after purchase/recovery, the Windows Vista Business system provides for lanuage choice (Traditional Chinese or English), and, once chosen, the language cannot be altered later on (unless, of course, the system is restored back to factory default settings).
My system specs are the same as the day I purchased it and are listed below (as I'm not sure if my machine type X61 7673-CW9 is applicable outside Taiwan):
    Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T8300 @ 2.4GHz
    Memory: 1.00 G.B.
    System: Windows Vista Business (32-bit)
    Hard Drive: 160 G.B. @ 7,200 r.p.m.
And, of course, with Intel Turbo Memory 1 G.B.
I contacted the Lenovo support staff here in Taiwan for countless times, but they seem to be clueless.  I learned that some friends at this forum downgraded their OS back to Windows XP, but I chose not to.  The reason is simple: my purchase price for X61 7673-CW9 includes the Intel Turbo Memory, which cannot function under Windows XP (at least so far).
Therefore, I just wish to share my experience here and perhaps I can get some advice from you and other friends here.  Any advice will be tremendously and enormously appreciated.
    Kevin Chen @ Taiwan

2 days ago, I started getting a BSOD with a message that popped up so fast, I couldn't read it. It then asked me how I wanted to start Windows, and I pick normally. It takes an extremely long time to start up, but it does start. It then seems to function
OK. I shutdown normally and the next time I turn my pc on, got the same thing.
I have not installed any new software except for the Windows updates. My pc is approximately 2 years old, they usually last 5 years for me. No new hardware. Today I opened it up, cleaned it out and reseated the RAM.
I have run the SMART utility at the command prompt to check the hd and it tells me OK OK.
Upon shutting down tonight, and on the next startup, I will have the pc run the memory test.
I was able to find this:
    Problem signature:
      Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
      OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48
      Locale ID: 1033
    Additional information about the problem:
      BCCode: fc
      BCP1: FFFFF8A006D24920
      BCP2: E2400001EAD0A963
      BCP3: FFFFF8800378C5B0
      BCP4: 0000000000000002
      OS Version: 6_1_7601
      Service Pack: 1_0
      Product: 256_1
What does this mean? It looks to me like locations in the RAM, but I'm not sure. Could this mean my RAM has gone bad?
I have tried to report/check for solutions, but it keeps asking me to send more information, and when I try to send it, it tells me there is a problem with the Windows Error Reporting system.
I don't see any problems that need fixing in my Action Center.
I did scan for malware using Malware bytes and found 1 item which I then cleaned out. I have re-scanned several times and have come up clean.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to solving this problem please?
    Thank You!

    Hi,
The dump file can not be opened directly, we need to use a debugger tool to open and analyze the file, we usually use WinDbg, you can get it from the MSDN website, to analyze the file, you can find many WinDbg related articles in the msdn websites
    if you're interested with it.

If you have problems analzing the file, please upload the latest dump file to OneDrive, then share the download link with us.

  • Very Weird Bsod Error!!

    Hi all,
I have had my setup for about 6 months and have been satisfied with its performance and have had almost no problems.
Today a big problem came, I turned on my computer from a cold boot and after the windows xp splash screen was halfway done I hear a click from inside my case and then a blue screen of death on my monitor with MACHINE CHECK EXCEPTION.  I could do nothing but power it off and turn it back on.  When windows loaded successfully this time, I get the infamous "Your system has recovered from a serious error." message, and I could few the details but it looks scrambled and foreign to me, I don't know what the error is pointing at.
I am pretty sure this is a hardware error and I am leaning towards my harddrive because it is the oldest component I have and I have tested my ram with memtest and friends computers and no problems whatsoever.
I am stumped except for two possible solutions I could try:
    1.  I read on this forum something about upping CPU voltage?  I have it at default 1.50V.  What should it be and will it do any harm?
    2.  I currently have official bios 1.4.  I could flash to 1.5 to see if my problems are solved but I don't exactly know what has been fixed in the newest bios.
So being somebody who never got BSOD, and now I get them about once every 2 weeks and cannot get it to repeat because it is random at windows xp startup I am out of ideas.
Any help or insight appreciated.  Thanks in advance!!

I had a similar issue with a 32bit system that popped like that with a BSOD but I know something fried because of the burning smell. It worked fine after that and had the same issue...random BSOD's. I thought I inspected the board closely the first time and even when I decided to swap boards, the problem continued.
I kept the original board as I figured it was probably ok and would eventally use it. Well, it came time where I had the opportunity to use it and lo and behold, I found a burn mark hidden under a PCI slot.  Needless to say, I had it replaced under warranty.
Now I tested my RAM several times with  Memtest86 and recieved no errors, so I continued on until I recieved the board in my sig. I got new RAM for this rig and took my Abit AN7 and PC2700 RAM and assembled another PC for my son. Once I got up and running, I decided to do further in depth testing. I discovered I was able to get errors with certain timings during one spcific test pass. All others passed with various timings except  2 2 2 11 which I knw would pass on all similar systems. I had the RAM replaced under warranty and when I recieved the new modules 2 days later, it passed all my tests with flying colors. BSODS are now a thing of the past and that PC is a model of stability, I almost wish I kept it as I miss the nvidia onboard sound.
The moral here is that one simple test doesn't always reveal a problem, it's a great tool, but it's not a definitive catch all.
    Just something to consider...
There may also be a driver or IRQ issue as well.
Post your IRQ's from System Information like this:
    Heres mine
    IRQ 0   System timer   OK
IRQ 1   Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard   OK
IRQ 4   Communications Port (COM1)   OK
IRQ 5   WinFast TV2000 XP WDM Audio Capture   OK
IRQ 6   Standard floppy disk controller   OK
IRQ 8   System CMOS/real time clock   OK
IRQ 9   Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System   OK
IRQ 11   NVIDIA nForce PCI System Management   OK
IRQ 12   PS/2 Compatible Mouse   OK
IRQ 13   Numeric data processor   OK
IRQ 14   NVIDIA nForce3 250 Parallel ATA Controller (v2.6)   OK
IRQ 15   NVIDIA nForce3 250 Parallel ATA Controller (v2.6)   OK
IRQ 16   RADEON X800 XT Platinum Edition   OK
IRQ 17   WinFast TV2000 XP WDM Video Capture   OK
IRQ 20   Standard OpenHCD USB Host Controller   OK
IRQ 21   Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller   OK
IRQ 22   NVIDIA Network Bus Enumerator   OK
IRQ 23   Standard OpenHCD USB Host Controller   OK
IRQ 23   NVIDIA(R) nForce(TM) MCP Audio Processing Unit   OK
The last two are normal as I've forced nVidia's sound drivers and Sound Control Panel so your's probably wont look the same. I don't recommend doing this, it was only an experiment and a crappy one at best.

  • BSOD Errors, too many to count

I bought a Satellite P70-A back in August of last year and I have been getting BSODs ever since I first started using it.  I've sent it to Tohiba 2 times now.  The last time they replaced my SSD.  Now I seem to be getting different BSODs.
I've attached the 4 most recent minidump files.
I get the BSOD when I turn my laptop on, when I do just about anything really.  No one thing seems to trigger it.  I am guessing they are drivers of some sort but I am ready to send this laptop back and call uncle.  Any help would be more than appreciated and I apologize if I did something in error, this is my first port to a forum.
    Thank you!!!

  • Pavilion G6: Windows 10 BSOD Error

Once I upgraded my laptop to Windows 10 (64-bit) whenever I would put my laptop to sleep or close the lid and come back to it, it would come back on but immediately be frozen and it would not respond. After a couple of seconds a blue screen of death with a frowny face would pop up. It usually gives me the error code of: UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION Then when I would come and start my laptop from being off sometime it will give me a BSOD right at the beginning and it would have error code, CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED Is there anyway to fix this? I would very much enjoy being able to have windows 10 on my laptop. Given the amount of BSOD I have had I went back to Windows 7 until a solution can be found. Sidenote: I also had a similar problem with windows 8, it did the same exact thing as Windows 10 did. It just gave me a different error code: KERNAL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR.  I went back to Windows 7 on that situation as well.  Any help to fix this would be great! Thanks in advance.

Install windows 10 again this time choose Not to save any data or system settings. Back up important data first.
