Look for unread mail

Hello,
Somebody knows if it is possible to filter the mail to look quickly for unread messages in iphone 4s?
Thanks
Bruno

Thanks a lot, that is good way to get them quick.
Anyway I think a filter would be great in next versions of IOS

  • Looking for a Mail utility/script to remove older newsletters

I subscribe to several newsletters from various companies (airlines, hotels, etc) and I'm looking for a utility/script that looks at incoming mail and zaps/displays older mailings since the new message supersedes the older ones. For instance, weekly discount offers come in and I want the previous ones from the same company to be automatically deleted. A confirmation window displaying the candidate messages to be deleted would be a nice feature.
Does anybody know of such a utility?
    TIA

well, to catch an email you have to add the email address from the sender or distinctive text, so for simplification purposes you may have to create a rule for each newletter, rather than one rule with lots of text in that field. plus if you create one rule for each, then it is easier to troubleshoot if one newsletter does not get deleted in the way you have specified it.

  • Looking for Apple Mail hosting solution ...

    All,
Not sure if this is the best place to post this, but I am looking for a good e-mail hosting company that knows how to deal with Mac users. I have a small consultancy with 5 people and we all use Mac's. I guess anyone can offer standards-based IMAP hosting, but a bonus would be to have a hosting company that could handle WebDav iCal calendar syncing.
Some have suggested MobileMe, but I don't thing that works for small businesses ... right?
    Other suggestions?

IMHO WD exteral HD's have the highest failure rate, the drives themselves are fine it is the enclosures WD uses. Many experienced users on these forums (including myself) only use OWC Mercury Elite Pro series. Extremely high quality and reasonable pricing. You can find them by clicking Here .

  • Mac email account wont stop looking for new mails.

Just recently and out of the bloom my .mac email account started acting up doing two things:
    1. It fails to receive some emails (I get some, but other I just don't. It appears to be random). I've had several people tell me they've emailed be but I've have nothing in my inbox, neither on my mac nor on mobileme.
    2. The same .mac (just to clarify I have a @mac.com account not @me.com) account does not stop looking for new emails. That little circles that goes around when you hit the get mail button; it wont stop circling.
I've deleted the account from my computer twice and both problems are still occurring.
This started just last week. I've never had any problem before that. I'm not running out of allocated space; I've already checked that.
Please Help. Bothe problems are pretty annoying (specially not getting emails.

Just to clarify the point. You do have a .me account. The .mac is just an alias now for .me
Maybe you should set up the account as [email protected] and see if that improves the reliablity.

  • Looking for a mail app... any recommendations?

I use my mac for business, and send many emails out to vendors and suppliers and manufacturers on a variety of customer issues. Often, it takes me several emails before I get a reply on a given issue. Sometimes I forget to follow up on a particular email, and it slips through the cracks, making my customers mad.
I am looking for an email app which if set, can prompt me if a period of time goes by without a response. So if I email a vendor on an issue, and he doesn't reply to me, I am prompted to follow up again.
Does anyone know of an app which has such a feature? My email requirements are simple IMAP and POP.
    Thank you.

    Hi iJerry,
I thought Sparrow had discontinued development. Not the case?
Since this disussion started I have basically switched over the MailPlane and really like it. The navigation, labeling, archiving and everythiing are so quick. And because it is so tied directly to Gmail you don't have to worry about whether or not the labels and everything are in synch (which was driving me crazy when testing Airmail).
The downside is there are some things which MailPlane doesn't support. For example, moving messages between accounts, or multiple signatures with accounts and a few other oddities. And of course it is Gmail only, so I had to do some work-arounds for the couple of email accounts I had which were non-Gmail. And it is all "in the cloud" so there is no backup on my computer (which I accomplish by turning on Thunderbird every once in a while and letting it sync.)
What is the current status of Sparrow though? At Wikipedia it says:
"Sparrow was an email client for OS X and iOS. After a 4 month beta period, Sparrow went on sale in the Mac App Store on February 9, 2011 and became the top paid and top grossing app in less than one day.[1] On July 20, 2012, the company announced that it had been acquired by Google and was ceasing continued development of the application save critical bug fixes."

  • Is Push supposed to be for unread mail only?

I have my iPhone set to receive Push notifications for Mail.
When I get new mail, I get a badge on the Mail icon and I get a banner notification when I have that turned on. All good so far...
However, when I read the email on one of my other devices (two computers or iPad) the 'read' status doesn't get pushed out to the phone. The only way the Mail app on the phone updates to the current state of my inbox is if I go to the app and force a refresh.
Is this a bug or a feature?
The only discussions of it I could find on here are from 2008, but I didn't want to resurrect an old thread so I'm asking again. From what I've seen it was never resolved back then, so I can only assume it's meant to be this way, but I can't see why. If you want Push, surely it's so that you can know the status of your inbox by just glancing at the icon, not having to go into the app and manually force an update. If Push is only ever supposed to send 'unread' notifications, not 'read' or 'deleted', isn't it kind of pointless? If I'm misunderstanding the concept, please educate me.

You seem to be describing the difference between Push, which sends out notification to the iPhone when ever a new message arrives, and Fetch which requires the iPhone to check with the server for new messages.
I get that difference, so no need to cut & paste that paragraph again...
What I don't understand is how that applies to my problem.
If I receive a new email, the badge icons on my desktop, laptop, iPad and iPhone all show that there's a new message, so I know Push is working. When I read the message on my desktop machine, the laptop icon reverts to no badge and the message is marked as read almost instantaneously. On the iPhone and the iPad, that doesn't happen until some other event makes the mobile app check in with the server. That event can either be opening the app or another new message arriving.
    Detailed example:
I send a message from GMail to my iCloud mail, subject 'Test 1'
The message appears on all 4 devices
I read the message on the desktop
The laptop immediately marks it as read, the iPad and iPhone still show '1' on the Mail icon
I send a second message from GMail to iClound, subject 'Test 2'
The laptop and desktop show one new message. The iPhone which happened to have the Mail app running buzzes as if there's new mail, but retains the '1' badge because it simultaneously marked Test 1 as read and received Test 2
The iPad which wasn't running Mail, shows '2' as a badge but on opening Mail, the app checks with the server and changes the number of new messages to '1'
My question is why does having the iOS devices setting for 'Fetch New Data' set to 'Push' not result in the same behaviour as seen on the MacOS Mail app? Is the fact that a message was read or deleted not considered new data?
Maybe I'll just experiment and put the iPhone on Fetch and leave the iPad on Push and see which gives me the more useful functionality.

  • Looking for a mailing label application

Before I moved from PC to Mac, I used a piece of software called My Mailing List for producing Xmas mailing labels, address books, etc. It is not available for my new iMac.  Has anyone had experience with a like product for the iMac and can recommend it?

KOrganizer is what I use - it has everything I could want. Best of all, it should be
already running next to your clock [ if you are running KDE ]. Just expand the SystemTray
and you'll see the KOrganizer Daemon. Click it and voila !

  • Looking for e-mail that supports Safari and OSX Mail client.

I've noticed that some email applications don't support Safari so a lot of the nice features are not available, even on paid subscriptions such as Yahoo! plus which is $20 per year. Is there one that does support Sarari that doesn't limit the features?

Never got an answer so I contacted my Satellite provider to use their e-mail set up for my Mac Mail client. I guess that provider is as good as any.

  • Looking for claws mail address book plugin/feature

    Hi
I was wondering if there a way to show the address book as a panel in the message editing window (like in thunderbird)?
I haven't seen it neither in preferences nor external plugins (but of course I could have missed something)
    Thanks!:)

Can you export your Thunderbird address book as a vcf card? That is, select all cards, and drag them all to the desktop, or export to the desktop, as a single "mega-VCF" card? If so, then double clicking on that single vcf file should import all into the Address Book application. Fields that do not have data entries in Thunderbird will be left blank in the Apple Address Book.
You may run into an issue with duplicate cards of the same proper name if you are using proper name on the cards. But if, for example, you use proper names on the address/phone set, and email addresses only (no proper names), you should be able to avoid that problem. You could then create groups within Address Book to make a distinction between them. Maybe, once each card was associated with a group, you could maintain proper name on both, since they should be distinguished by group affiliation. But I am not sure on that; that is something that you would have to experiment with.

  • TS3167 Where do I look for /library/mail/bundles?

Since upgrading to Lion, my scanner can no longer scan directly to Mail.  Support says go to /library/mail/bundles.  Where will I find this?

Choose Go to Folder from the Finder's Go menu and provide that as the path. You may need to put a ~ before it.

  • Mail 6.0 stops everything while it looks for email.

This is annoying. I am typing a new email, and suddenly the cursor and typing STOP while Mail 6.0 searches for new mail. (I know...stop looking for new mail!) It is a real showstopper and slowing me down considerably. I'll bet this is related to a bunch of other bugs reported here. I haven't changed any mail prefs, and have never had this problem with a Mail app before. Always been rock solid...how could they get this one wrong?

Here's a zero-risk suggestion - it may help, but it certainly can't hurt:
Try Mailbox ---> Rebuild while you're in mail.

    Hi,
I could resolve the issue since there were lot of issues after system copy.
    1. During distribued to Cenrtal system - system copy.
You need to combine both DB and CI export copies in one folder during which one thing can happen.
SOURCE.PROPERTIES - this file will be there in DB export JAVA folder and also CI export JAVA folder where
DB SOURCE.PROPERTIES file doesn't have an entry of "src.ci.host". This will stop the SAPINST with error and after modifying the file "SOURCE.PROPERTIES" Traget System Copy finishes without any issue.
Then after this stage I encountered an issue with bind hosts entry in config tool which was due to virtual host name usage in my HACMP setup due to whcih JAVA gives a startup problem.
    I eliminated this issue also.
After JAVA started I faced an issue with XI related navigations.
ecchangeProfile url still had an entry of Production System. This may be a bug.
After changing that entry, exchangeProfile was downloaded but it had all the source system host entries which were manually changed.
Now I can access all the XI related navigations.
I need to also perfrom SGEN and Profiles import.
Do I need to change any additional settings after this so that my production and DR can work without any issue?
Do you have any additional checks which I can perfrom to ensure my DR systems consistency before I start the log shipping from Production?

Voicemail is through your carrier and on their equipment.
It's function and features is set by them, not your phone.

  • Mail help! Looking for an additional Mail App for Exchange!

I have been desperately looking for an additional (not the built in) app so I can read my corporate email on my iphone. Does anyone know of such an app?
    Thanks...

With the general Mailbox I got 4 mailboxes. 3 that I always have to be alerted when mail comes in, the general one I have to check in only once in a while. I always have all mailboxes open, however if I have the darn general mailbox in there i loose control over what's important. So I use safari right now for that busy mailbox which is cumbersome.
I just wanted a separate mailbox that doesn't alert me every 2 minutes of incoming mail, yet easy enough to check what's in it when I need it.
I'll give ibismail a try. Thanks.
