LOOK HERE FOR ACTIVATION PROBLEMS!!!

Hey
I hope this helped it seems that i got extremly lucky with my iPhone i had been syncing my iPhone through iTunes for about 7 hours. I tried calling all different numbers none were working for me. So i decided to turn off the phone and turn it back on. As soon i it came to the home screen it said activating with AT&T and with in seconds it said activation complete and i was on my way with my phone. Everything worked i got incoming messages and was able to use edge and wifi along with out going data. I hope this helps anyone who needs it or is having problems syncing up.
Macbook   Mac OS X (10.4.10)   love it

Hey
Heres the whole story i got my phone pluged it in and went through all the procedures untile the end were they tell you they are going to send you an email. I waited about 5 hours and nothing had happened still the same screen with the emergency call and all. Then i took it off the cord (not in dock just usb) and had if off for about an hour. Then put it back on woried it would mess it up. After a another hour or so i figured i might as well turn it on and then off. So with it still pluged in i turned it off waited a few seconds then powered it back on. After about 30 seconds it came to the same screen with the emergency call and then right away it said AT&T activation in progress or something like that then within a few more seconds it said activation complete and everything was working.
Hoped this helps and wasnt just luck on my part
Good luck

  • Imessage/facetime waiting for activation problem on a deactivated iphone 5

    Hello people(:
I was just wondering if anyone out there know how to fix the waiting for activation problem for iPhone 5 on 6.1.4
My iPhone 5 is deactivated so it has no service on it. It has a sim card but the sim card doesn't have service and I'm guessing thats the problem.
But i just wanna make sure that it is or if anyones got a solution.
    Thanks(:
    Need answers please

Well I did a restore of my iPhone 5 (deactivated) using my last iPhone 6 backup (activated) and iMessage still failed to activate.  It's funny because this worked on my old iPhone 4.  I don't know what else I did different.
Does anyone know why Apple does this?  Why are they against us using iMessage on a deactivated iPhone?

I want to use my number instead of my Apple ID. It was working before until I turned my facetime off. Now when I turn it on the only logged in was the Apple ID not my phone number..

  • Problem starting Fireworks CS5.1 MAC ? Look here for the solution ...

After installing / uninstalling / installing, calling Adobe, deleting preferences ... in short, a great deal of wasting time (that I do not want you to do) ... the problem is somewhere else.
I've read the solution on a post (but too much posts read and I do not remember which one) :
    Delete FlashFirebug for Firefox !!!!
That's it, and everything's now back to normal.
    Hope it will help...

    Thanks for sharing!
This Adobe Help page suggests uninstalling the Flashbug/FlashFirebug plug-in for Firefox if there's a problem with blank panels within Fireworks, particularly on the Windows OS. It's good to know that the same advice can help Mac users, too.

  • Desparately looking solution for Upgrade Problem.

I am quite happy to use Arch Linux .  I have been using this for last 2 years at home.  But recently my Internet Provider has vanished and I have no option to resort using wireless dongle.  The max download speed I get is around 10 K .   So upgrading my Arch Linux Installation ( On Desktop )  is now proven as a dream.  Fortunately,  in my office, we have fareley decent interent connection.
I am desparately looking for a practical solution where    using my wireless dongle - I can update repository database.   My problem is how to create download links of all upgrades which I can carry on on a USB thumb drive to office and using wget download all the upgrades and carry back to home to install it ?  ( In office we use Ubuntu )
Would love a practical solution for my wired issue.
    All suggestions are welcome.
    Regards

drcouzelis didn't misunderstand.  His point was that this would really not be a good idea on archlinux.  If you want to run linux on a machine without an internet connection, you should not use archlinux.  Debian was proposed as an alternative.
You could get the list of packages installed with `pacman -Qq > pkglist`, then take the pkglist file to work, download all the pkg and sig files from the mirror manually (or even write a script to do this), bring them home, then use `pacman -U` or set up a local repository with those files, and upgrade from there.
But this would be a lot of work and would be very error prone.  Sometimes a package upgrade will pull in a new dependency and the upgrade will fail requiring you to go back to work to download another package file.  This could happen several times in a row even.  To avoid this situation, you'd have to download the entire mirror (or at least everything for your architecture) as described here, but also see the warnings in that page.  Downloading the entire mirror for these purposes would really be abusing them.

  • Waiting for activation have not found a way to fix this

Ok so I'm overseas and I cannot use cellular data because I don't want to get billed a crazy amount however when using wifi the first week I was here I was able to text and face time with no problem. Then we went for a week to the country with no solid internet connection however we set up a very weak hotspot using a tablet, that's when I noticed I wasn't able to text and I saw the message waiting for activation since it took around 5 mins to load a web page I figured it was just a problem with the internet and I ignored it. Now we are back in the city (where we were when it worked fine the first week) and I still have the same problem, I have read countless articles about how to fix this and nothing seems to work the only option I haven't tried is to wipe the phone and restore it with a backup however i can't do that since I am no where near my computer. So is there any one else having the same waiting for activation problem as me? Is there anything I can do, any help would be much appreciated.

    Hello there, Captnpnut.
The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great, in-depth and practical steps for troubleshooting the "Waiting for Activation" message:
iOS: Troubleshooting FaceTime and iMessage activation
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4268
    Particularly relevant for your issue:
If you see "Waiting for Activation", "Activation unsuccessful", or "An error occurred during activation"
These messages occur when your iPhone is trying to activate your phone number with iMessage or FaceTime.
To resolve these status messages, follow these steps. After each step, turn FaceTime and iMessage off and on again in Settings > Messages and Settings > FaceTime.
Update to the latest version of iOS.
Make sure that you have a cellular network connection with your cellular provider. You need a cellular network connection to activate iMessage and FaceTime with your iPhone phone number.
Go to www.apple.com in Safari to make sure that you have a data connection. You need a data connection to activate iMessage and FaceTime with your iPhone phone number.
Make sure that you can send and receive SMS. You need a valid SMS messaging plan to activate FaceTime and iMessage.
Make sure that FaceTime hasn't been restricted: tap Settings > General > Restrictions > FaceTime.
Set iPhone to the correct time zone: tap Settings > General > Date & Time.
Note: If Set Automatically is on but the incorrect time zone appears, turn Set Automatically off and choose the correct time zone, date, and time.
Contact your carrier to verify that there are no restrictions, blocks, or filters on text messages. Restrictions, blocks, or filters on text messaging will prevent iMessage and FaceTime registration from completing.
If "Waiting for Activation" still appears after you perform these steps, turn FaceTime and iMessage off and on in Settings > Messages and Settings > FaceTime. You may need to wait up to 24 hours to complete activation. Most attempts will take less than an hour, but some attempts may take up to 24 hours. If your issue isn't resolved after 24 hours, please contact Apple for assistance. If you've recently performed a remote wipe on your iPhone, wait 24 hours from the time you performed the remote wipe, and then turn iMessage off then back on.You can still activate iMessage and FaceTime with your Apple ID when these status messages appear. You can see that you've activated FaceTime and iMessage with your Apple ID by tapping:
Settings > FaceTime > You can be reached by FaceTime at:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > You can be reached by iMessage at:
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • Solutions...anyone have any for the activation problems other than time cha

I am waiting now for 17 hours. Anyone have any solutions other than waiting and change the clock?

I have used all of the following on Maversicks, with no issues at all:
    iPhoto
    Aperture
    Acorn
    Graphic Converter
    Intensify Pro
    Snapheal
I've not seen any reports indicating any issues with other apps either. I would strongly echo Larry's comments about App Store reviews, and reviews on download sites and forums up and down the internet. The great thing about the internet is that everyone has an opinion, that might also be the worst thing.
The problems with these comments are manifold: for a start, happy people are less likely to review, unhappy happy are much more inclined to. That's why we don't have thousands and thousands of posts on this forum from all the people who have no problems saying "look I have no problems". Unhappy people get cross and are more likely to express that anger in negative reviews.
Then what about the reviewer? What is his or her knowledge, experience and skill level? No doubt they are having problems, and real ones, but how do you know if their issues are problems with the app, their own inexperience, third party conflicts and so on. I've seen people on here claim the fact that iPhoto won't edit video is a bug. I've seen hundreds and hundreds of posts from folks on here who are certain they've found a bug, only for their glitch to be resolved. No review is worth anything unless you know something of the reviewer, his or her knowledge and experience.
So frankly, I never bother with those reviews on any such stores, not just iPhoto on the Mac App Store.
