Looking for a AV Rec & 5 disc CD player

Ineed a av rec and 5 disc cd layer to use in a large ball room.. The room has 9 speakers all on the same set of wires, I tried my SONY AV rec and disc player to see how sound would be and it was very good...
Since thee are only one set of wires coming from all the speakers,, I need help on purchasing a AV player and 5 disc CD player to use in this room for background music... Doesnt have to be anything fancy, just do the job.
Im hoping that for under or $400 I can purchase something to do this.   As I said my STR DE595 AV Rec and 5 disc unit worked great, so I know the speakers are fine.
If anyone has ideas please let me know.

How large of speakers? A home theater receiver 'would' work, however, a professional grade amp would suit your purpose much better.
As for the CD player, to be honest, it'd be much cheaper to buy a cheap MP3 player, load your music onto it, and leave it plugged in and hooked into the amp.
If you like my post, or solution to your issue/question, go ahead and click on the little star by my name and/or accept the post as the Solution. It makes me happy.
I'm NOT an employee of Best Buy, or Geek Squad, though I did work as an Agent for a year 5 years ago. None of my posts are to be taken as the official stance that Best Buy will take on your situation. My advice is just that, advice.
Unfortunately, that's the bad luck of any electronic, there's going to be bad Apples... wait that's a horrible pun.

  • Looking for a G5-A1054 Diagnostics Disc

I now have an G5 A1058 (1.8 17-Inch) that I am using as my primary computer.  I need to run a diagnostics test but I don't have any installations discs and unfortunately I'm not in a financial position the purchase them.  After weeks of research, I did find a web page that listed several free Apple diagnostic downloads but I wasn't certain if any of the downloads were compatible with my machine and to make matters worse, I didn't bookmark the page. I'm out of ideas so any guidance will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks so very much!

There is a link in Apple site:
    User Groups
Mix and mingle with other Apple Users in your area.
In the above linked page are these two options to check into further:
    •Find a Group
Find an Apple user group near you with this handy tool from the Apple User
    Group Advisory Board.
    •Apple User Group Resources
Check out the User Group Advisory Board's website for information on events,
resources and special offers for Apple user groups.
Some cities have local groups, some of the independent AASP or
Authorized Apple Service Providers (specialist) locations may know
about or how to contact those who are not affiliated with a business.
Then, you could contact retail Stores, &/or the AASP if needed to ask about
sales, service, support, training, consulting & other related information:
Find an Apple Authorized Service Provider
    Visit an Apple Retail Store
Whether or not the tinyURL-linked info site will be of help, it should be evident
by content there, certain harder to locate technical or service manuals may be
found; and hopefully they won't be obliterated as a viable resource now public.
Nearly any of the 'model designators' could be obtained online, and almost
everyone with a desire to acquire basic update, upgrade, & other info has
been using the fair database from http://mactracker.ca as I have for years.
And too, there is another fair resource in http://everymac.com as well.
Advice to seek replacement original system discs, suggested by Klaus above,
is a good first place to look; if still available, these can do more than an AHT.
Hopefully this helps answer some of your & subsequent other questions here.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Looking for beta testers...

I'm looking for some players to test a 2-player strategy game. The gameplay is similar to chess, except that you construct an army from a selection of units with a variety of stats and abilities.
The game requires at least 2 players to be online to play. To assist in finding opponents, I'm scheduling official play times, but feel free to play at any time.
    The web address is www.catluck.com/leopold
The official play times (PST) are
    10-11am, 2-3pm, 7-8pm, 10-11pm

from what i saw of your app it seems pretty good, but i took up the whole screen it didnt have its own window, have you thought of making it so it just has its own window ?? is there a one player option ?

  • Looking for 10.3 install disc

My daughter has an iBook G3 that is running 10.2 at the moment. I used to have an install disc for 10.3 but I lost it at some stage and there are some big draw backs for her trying to use the latest versions of Safari and iTunes that she can on 10.2. Of course Apple don't sell old versions of their operating systems. Does anyone have a copy of it they don't need anymore?

    mickr7an:
To install Tiger your computer will need to meet the minimum system requirements for Tiger. You will, also need to purchase the Full Retail version of Tiger.
Please note that Computer specific or upgrade versions should be avoided since they are optimized for the computer to which they are specific and will therefore, very likely, cause problems during or after installation. On the legal side, it may be a violation of the Software License Agreement which statesThis License allows you to install and use one copy of the Apple Software on a single computer at a time. This License does not allow the Apple Software to exist on more than one computer at a time...
Tiger can be purchased at The Apple Store. You can also find the Full Retail Version, if you shop carefully, at online outlets like FastMac, HardcoreMac, AllMac, etc. If you know what you are looking for, read all documentation carefully and ask questions of the seller, you may be able to get Tiger on eBay.
If your computer meets the minimum system requirements for Tiger but does not have a DVD drive here are your options:
If you already own Tiger on DVD
•Use an external Firewire DVD Drive.
    •Use Firewire Target Disk Mode
I am not sure why you are not able to boot from an external DVD drive, except:
    1. You have computer specific install disk that is not specific to the computer to which you are installing.
    2. Your DVD drive has a USB and not firewire interface.
Please do post back with further questions or comments.
    Cheers

  • I keep getting a 'Looking for backup disc' message from my  Time Capsule.

I keep getting a 'Looking for backup disc' message from my  Time Capsule. I have set it up several times without any apparent problems (I have even done a Hard and Factory reset). Everything seems fine until I ask Timemachine to 'back up', and then the problems start.
    Any ideas?

I had the exact same problem. I bought the Time Capsule this past July and it worked fine for about a month then it told me it hadn't backed up in 10 days and was stuck looking for the backup drive. I called Apple and they said the reason was that the Time Capsule was in Bridge mode. I launched Airport Utility and sure enough, it was. I changed it to DCHP and NAT (Airport Utility -> Network tab -> Router Mode). After updating the Time Capsule, I couldn't even get on the Internet, let alone do a backup. A logged into the software for my cable modem and discovered that it too was in Bridge mode.
It turned out (for me) that neither should be in Bridge mode (which is for connecting two networks). Your cable modem only has one IP address. Your Time Capsule should be doing the NAT (Network Address Translation) which translates the internal IP addresses on your network to the one IP address your cable modem has. When I switched my Time Capsule to DHCP and NAT, it conflicted with the fact that the cable modem was also trying to do this. The answer was to turn this off on the modem (allowing all the packets to just go through the modem to the Time Capsule and let IT do the NAT). I did that last week and since then, my Time Capsule has been working perfectly.
    1) Go to your cable modem (via a browser, enter "http://192.168.100.1"). Log-in and find the setting that indicates NAT. If you're uncomfortable doing this or can't find it, call your cable company and ask Tech Support to do it for you. They can do it remotely.
    2) Launch Airport Utilty. Go to the Network Tab and change the router mode to "DHCP and NAT".
    3) You may need to restart your modem and Time Capsule. I can't remember if I had to or not.
I hope this helps. I tried many things but this is the only solution that fixed it for me. And it makes sense. Only one device, the cable modem or the Time Capsule, can be doing the NAT.

  • Looking for an All-In-One Printer Rec. with Mac

    Hello,
I'm looking for a Color Laser All-In-One printer, with ADF and Networking capability for under $600. Any recommendations of printers that work well with Mac? I know the HP's are good, but my concern is with their software. I've had nightmare experiences with them.

  • I need help! I bought an external drive to backup the computer. but although the computer recognizes it (shows up on the right side with the icon - mybook3.0 - I cannot get time machine to look for a hard disc - it only wants to use airport!

I want to use time machine. So, I got a mybook3.0 and hooked it up. the computer recognizes it fine (shows the icon on the desktop etc) but time machine refuses to look for any hard disk, going on airport instead and refusing to let me select anything or do anything manually (buttons are not clickable - and anyway, no HD at all shows)
    I'm getting frustrated!!
    PLEASE HELP

Just to clarify - when you run Disk Utility (in your Utilities folder) the drive you bought doesn't show up in the window under your boot drive?
If it appears on your desktop, you should see it in the Disk Utility window as this displays all mounted drives.
You then click on the drive (Mybook3.0 or whatever it appears as), and choose Erase from the options on the right.
    Best Wishes.

  • How to look for a certain value in a database using sql

Hello everyone. How do you do this in SQL? Or, is there a way to look for a certain value in a database? What I'm trying to do is this:
I want to look for the exact value "abcdefg" in the database so that oracle will return me details on the following that contains the said value:
    1. the name of the table(s)
    2. the column/field name(s)
Note: "abcdefg" could exist in different tables with different column names with different data types.
Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.
UPDATE: What about if I just want to check those fields/columns with string data types?

  • Looking for a music app that doesn't stop playing music when album over

Back in the 90s, I had a 5 disc CD player.  When one album was done, it would move to the next album.
With iTunes, one album was done, the next album would start playing.
With iPhone, one abum is done, music stops playing.
I don't understand the logic behind the iPhone music app.  This is especially bad for when I'm driving.
I'm looking for a type of Music app that either:
    1)  Allows me to swipe to next/previous album as well as next/previous track.  (maybe  a swipe up/down command)?
    or
    2)  Allows me to display all songs, but sorted by Artist or album (that way I automatically have one long
    or
    3) Will automatically advance to the next album when the current one is done.

Bob, I have the guide, just didn't think of the playlist angle.  I was looking for  the genre/Siri thing.  But hey, making a playlist worked.
Demo, yes Siri works now that I've made a playlist and say "playlist"  And I'm satisfied with the fix.
But you'd think apple could make playing music more convenient.  I took off all my music and retagged it, leaving all info blank (ie: albums and artists etc) and leaving only genre because it's so difficult to get it play a genre.  I'd pick a genre, start with a  song and it would play only songs from a single album.  I've read of some odd fixes for this and a couple of them worked...sometimes!  (If you stand on one leg and whistle Dixie kind of things)  Ridiculous!
By eliminating all tag info except genre I fixed that issue and can now play by genre.
But as of now Siri still won't play Gospel music by my asking, she still replaces my spoken "Gospel" with her "Christian & Gospel" which like I said doesn't exist.  And correcting Siri doesn't work.  All my music falls into 3 genres, 2 of them Siri handles perfectly, Gospel she messes up.
Bottom line - I shouldn't have had to make a playlist, or played with the tagging of my music.  Apple says you can play your music by genre, and it should be simple to do so.

  • PC - Mac... looking for backup suggestions

I never thought I'd buy a Mac (based purely on cost alone), but the big changes in Windows 8 have really turned me off.  What I'm looking for is suggestions on how to migrate.
I'm looking at moving from a desktop PC with lots of storage space, to buying a Macbook Pro.  My current setup is as follows:
Processor: Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz
    RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws 8GB (DDR3 1600)
    GPU: EVGA 550ti
Primary Drive: 100 GB SSD - OCZ Vertex 2 OCZSSD2
1 TB personal drive for media/personal files
    2TB HDD for automated backups
    2TB HDD for manual/secondary backups
Obviously I already have the drives and don't want to spend $300 on a MyBook, but I'll need an external enclosure that is compatible with the new MacBook Pro, and also easy connectivity.  Suggestions?

I agree with you in some part with regard to cost, but maybe not so much with my particular situation.  The Ultrabook I was looking at a few weeks ago was the Lenovo X1 Carbon for $1300 (base price), but since it comes with W8, I would still need to buy a W7 Pro disc for $200, putting the new price at $1500, the same starting price of the 13" MacBook Pro.
I'm also not fond of clinging to older software or OS's.  Microsoft has chosen their path and they're not going to do a complete turnaround with items such as "Metro" or the Start button. It seems like a good time to try something else.  If I don't end up liking the Mac OS, at least they hold their value better in the resale market...
As for enclosures, they are renowned for being poorly built and unreliable.  I was hoping someone here could recommend one first hand.  If the WD MyBook had even reasonable reviews I probably would have just gone that route.  As is, I'm open to any suggestions.
