Looking for a calendar for confidential appointments

Hi,
I am getting ready to start a new job and the appointments that I will have will need to be kept very confidential.  I was wondering if anyone has see an app that is some kind of calendar that has a password on it.  I have iCal on my ipad however, that isn't password protected.  If there is a way to password protect it that would be great, but otherwise something that to keep out everyone but me on that specifc calendar.  I would prefer free but I know for something this specific it maybe hard to find, so I would be willing to pay for it.  Any suggestions?  Thanks!

You are going to need to take a careful look at options in the App Store (search on Calendar). There are some that appear to support a passcode, but it typically isn't a feature that is front and center. Read the descriptions carefully.
Have you considered simpy setting the passcode on the iPad?

  • Does the iOS5 allow publishing of a contact list group like it does for the Calendar for synchronization?

I want to publish a group list of contacts so everyone in my group can have an updated list of contacts. Does the iOS 4 or 5 do this?

I know that on the Blackberry z10, i was able to do it before i updated to the latest version. All i did was go under bluetooth settings and then select paired, then the device that i wanted to change the name on, then under device name, i selected the name area, which brought up the keyboard, which allowed me to rename the paired device. But with the latest version update, I'm not able to do this anymore.

Looking for exchange calendar sync system to replace sucky groupcal.
I've had nothing but problems with it. I get duplicate calendars, duplicate calendar entries, and the daemon stops updating from the
then the support folks are threatening to cut off support and no longer help me to fix their broken code!
I wasted money and so much time on this app, is there anything else out there that does a better job?

Not to mention that it doesn't work with Leopard now! I wish there was a way to get my Exchange calendar to sync to a third party that would sync with iCal 3.0. Since there is not support for CalDAV it would be nice if Exchange would support this!

  • Looking for a Calendar w/ Management Tool

Hi, I am looking for a calendar creator that comes with some sort of Management Tool so that once I have adapted the code to fit a site, my clients can easily add events without messing with the code. Does anyone know of one or use one that they like?

You don't have order iPhoto books, prints, etc. from the US if you're in the UK or Ireland. Those are printed in-country; you can see pricing here. So there may be VAT, but there won't be any import/release fees.
But as has been pointed out already, iPhoto is a Mac-only application. So unless you have access to a Mac you can use, you'll have to look for an equivalent application/service for Windows.

  • I seem to have lost the appointments in my Ipad2 calendar for the months of July, August and September.  I need to refer back to them, and there are only a few appointments reflected. What can I do to recover this info?

My Ipad2 has recently lost the appointments on my calendar for the past 3 months.  I need that content to refer back to.  Wheredid it go and can I get it back?

Are they still on your pc's calendar? If so, connect the ipad, go to 'info' scroll down to the calendar and change the setting of 'do not sync items older than....' as far back as you need it

  • Why don't I have the same options in my calendar for appointments iCloud/iPad

Why don't I have the same opoisions in my calendar for appointments? Online in iCloud calendar there are options to pick from for days of the week and how many weeks to set an appointment. Why can't I do this on my iPhone or iPad? Am I missing a setting to be able to do this? I make most of my apointments away from my desk and would like to send a invitation at that time.

Restart iPhone: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for phone to restart (no data will be lost).

You can do this in iCloud calendars, actually. You just can't do it directly on the device. But, if you go to icloud.com & edit the calendar event, you can select "Custom" from the dropdown for Repeat & it will let you put in "every 4 wks on saturday" or even "every 28 days." But, again, you'd have to be using iCloud & you can only do this on the website.

  • Set a Default Calendar for New Appointments in iCal?

I never found a post with a sufficient answer to this question. However, it seems as though I may have stumbled on a resolution myself.
iCal has it's own default calendars: Home and Work. I use MobileMe so the MoblieMe calendar is listed there as well. I also have an iPhone 4. I wanted all calendars to syncronize automatically when I create a new appointment on any of the 3 locations (laptop, cloud, or phone). I found that when create a new event in iCal on my macbook pro, it wouldn't update with mobileme or my phone. This was because when I double click to create a new event, iCal automatically puts the new event into my "Home" calendar, even though it was unchecked and not highlighted. As soon as I double click to create the new event, iCal's default kicks in and the Home calendar in the "On My Mac" section suddenly becomes checked and highlighted all by itself and the new event is automatically placed there, never to be updated with the cloud or on my phone.
I think the problem may be related to something I read under "How Do I Set a Default Calendar for New Appointments in iCal?" There a solution given was that the uppermost calendar was being defaulted to and it was suggested to drag the desired calendar to the uppermost position. None of my calendars would drag anywhere. However, I find that if I uncheck Home and Work in the column on the left under "On My Mac" AND then click the arrow so those two calendars are hidden (very important), and then check and highlight the only showing calendar: MobileMe, that (so far) when I doulbe click to create a new event, a new event is created in the MobileMe calendar, and Home and/or Work under the "On My Mac" section never becomes checked or highlighted. So the new event is created only in the MobileMe calendar listed and updates on my laptop, in the cloud, and on my phone.
So far that has been my experience; but, it has been only minutes since I tried that, so let's see what happens after a couple of weeks or so of normal use and see if the problem is actually resolved.

I have been searching for this information for weeks now -- thank you!
This works for Google Calendar as well as for Mobile Me. I'm going to type a little more information here to see if I can help this answer come up more quickly for other users when they keyword search as I was doing.
This answer helped me reset and change the default calendar for iCal. I can now set my Google Calendar as the default calendar in iCal. When I create a new event in iCal, it syncs to Google Calendar as the default calendar without having to choose another calendar. All my iCal new events now go directly to Google Calendar and sync to my iPhone and iPad. I couldn't move the gmail google calendar to the top position, and just unchecking Home and Work didn't change where new events defaulted. Now my new events automatically go from iCal to google calendar, and I don't lose track of any events. I think you can set any calendar as the default iCal calendar for new events using this approach.

  • Looking for planning calendar template?

Looking for planning calendar template in Illustrator?

    John,
You might try thinking outside your original box. While Numbers might give you a decent fix, you also might try a different program designed for just your project. I searched in the Apple Downloads for 'Inventory' and found a program called 'Home Inventory' (too easy, right?). Check it out here: http://binaryformations.com/
    Some features:
    --Nice user interface
    --Categorization by type, location, etc.
--Nearly unlimited photos can be associated with your items
--Ability to create detailed reports for your records
--Shareware: only $22 (try before you buy and record 25 items with trial)
I realize Numbers is a great program for many tasks, but I think that from the looks of it, this program will do a better job at your specific task.
If you really wanted to pursue the Numbers solution, you could go about your inventory using a Numbers table and then list the location of each photo (/Photos/Home Inventory/12345.jpg) in a separate column. That way, you have all the functionality of a sortable, searchable table with the convenience of the photos somewhere else (non-bogged-down file as you desire). Perhaps you could print your photos in a thumbnail view where the names are listed; combine the smaller pictures with your table and you now have an all-in-one record of your possessions. Backup both for security and you should be good to go. If you ever need an item photo, just find the corresponding photo name for the item on your chart and then easily find it in your Home Inventory photo folder.
Just my thoughts. Hope they help!

  • Calendar - looking for Palm Calendar ease of use

Has anyone found an iPhone Calendar Application that is as functional as the Palm phone Calendar standard (which is at least 12 years old & requires 1/3 the number of steps.)
I have been using a Palm phone for the past 10 + years - just bought a new iPhone, & hoping I won't need to also carry the Palm for my calendar...

    Welcome to iMovie Discussions.
For a bit of info on the Sony, see camcorderinfo here, and on the Canon, see here.
Hard-disc hi-def camcorders record video in AVCHD format, which has to be converted into a slightly different 'Apple Intermediate Codec' format during importing into iMovie, for editing. This works OK with fast, Intel-based Macs (..all the most recent models..) but will NOT work with older PowerPC-based Macs (two or three years old) unless you download a separate program called VoltaicHD (click here).
On slower Macs you may find that the import lags slightly behind the 'real time' movie, as the video is converted during the import.
Video from hi-def camcorders which record onto miniDV tape (instead of a hard disc or memory chips or miniDVDs) using the HDV mode (instead of AVCHD) can be imported straight into any older PowerPC-based Mac or a newer Intel-based Mac ..but, again, there may be a lag during import if using an older PowerPC-based Mac, but not on any current fast Macs.

  • Calendar for multiple users?

I'm trying to help out my friend.  He runs a business giving biplane rides, pulling advertising banners etc.  There are multiple pilots. We are looking for a calendar that all pilots can edit and all can view.
So the banner pilot can wake up in the morning and check the calendar and see if he has a banner to pull and when, so he shows up at the airfiel at the right time.  The person sitting in the office needs to access the same calendar to add in appointments for biplane rides so the pilots can look at that and know when to show up.
I read some information about iCal and that you can share a calendar privately and all can see it and edit it but I don't think all the pilots have iphones.
Do you have to have an iphone and icloud account to do this?
If icloud won't work for that and anyone knows of another way I'll take any advice you have.  It has to be an app that syncs on iphone, ipad and android and everyone can edit it.  For whatever reason they don't or can't use Google calendar (I think a few of the users couldn't figure it out!).
    Thanks for any help.
    Susan
PS. We are not 100% sure if one of the pilots has an iphone or android (trying to find out), if they all had iphones would that make it any easier?
Do you have to have an iphone or ipad to use iCloud?
Can you have two icloud calendars?

I'll caution you on this - having so many people have access to a single calendar is going to cause performance issues.  As you can see on the following Microsoft blog, the maximum number of delegates recommended for a single mailbox is four.
http://blogs.technet.com/b/office_resource_kit/archive/2012/12/17/recommendations-for-configuring-delegate-scenarios-in-outlook-2010.aspx  While you aren't adding users as delegates, it is still going to do much the same thing, and you are adding 100
    of them.
With that in mind, you can run the following script to add each user to the calendars of all 100 of the other users' mailboxes.  UserList.txt is a list of just the aliases of your 100 mailboxes.
    $AllMbxs = Get-Content UserList.txt
    ForEach ($Mailbox1 in $AllMbxs) {
Add-MailboxFolderPermission -Identity "$Mailbox1`:`\Calendar" -user [email protected] -AccessRights reviewer

  • Calendar for business use

I am trying to set up a shared calendar for business use. As we all use MAC it has been suggested that iCal could support this.
However, I am struggling to set this up.
Firstly, if I add any calendars to my existing set, it seems that any appointments or reminders are automatically shared. I don't think my colleagues need to know that the bins need putting out!
Ideally I would like to use a different Apple ID for business from personal. I cannot see that it is possible to have more than one Apple ID assigned to an iMAC.
Once you have set up a calendar, how do you go about sharing it with others on different IDs?
I cannot find anything to guide me on how to set this up or even whether it is possible. If anyone has any advice, I would be extremely grateful.
    Many thanks

You can share an individual calendar using iCloud. If the others need to write to it they will need their own iCloud accounts. The method is described on this and the subsequent pages:
    http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mm6b1a8694
If you want to do this on another Apple ID/iCloud account (though there isn't really any need) you can add a second iCloud account in System Preferences>Mail, Contacts & Calendars. The account will appear in the list in iCal under the new ID and you can add calendars to it.
You might like to look at BusyCal ($49.99) - it is similar to iCal but with extra facilities. (I have no connection with this firm.)
As it's for business purposes you should note that iCloud is positioned for personal use and although you can do what you suggest, there is minimal support. A possible alternative is Fruux which provides syncing using their own servers and has a service for Team use at €20 per month and proper support (I have no connection with this firm either).

  • Is there a way to ask Siri to show a calendar for the current month?

Everytime I ask to see a calendar for February, she shows me all of my appointments for February. I simply want to look at a calendar, like the calendar on my wall.

    Actually, no, not yet.
What I found I could do is ask Siri to "Show me an image of February, 2012" or "Show me a picture of February 2012".
NOW I've answered my question (BTW, YOU didn't!).

  • Changing the default data location for iCal calendars

Is there any way to tell iCal to pull its calendar data from a different location other than ~/library/calendars ? I realize that this would probably require some app hacking, but if anyone knows how it would allow me to create an incredibly easy and efficient sync solution that I'd be happy to share. This also goes for apps like Address Book, Mail, etc. All I need to do is tell iCal to look for its "Calendars" folder in, for example, ~/Desktop/Calendars

OK. Move ~/Library/Calendars to your new Drop Box. This will ('cos it is a separate volume) leave a copy in ~/Library, so delete the Calendars folder there.
In terminal you will need a command something like
    ln -s /Volumes/Drop\ Box/Calendars/ Library/Calendars
    A couple of notes:
the first argument after the -s is the "source" - the folder that is being linked to; the next is the linking file or directory
terminal provides some auto-completion, so type as far as the -s /Vo then press tab and it will fill in as far as the next /, then type Dr and tab again and it should complete the first arg (make sure there is a trailing /) then type the space and Li and tab and then you will have to type in Calendars yourself 'cos terminal can't guess what you want
the last Calendars don't get a trailing /
If it has worked and you use Finder to look at ~/Library/Calendars you should see (apparently) the normal set of calendar files in it. Make sure your Drop Box is read and write accessible by both users.
