Looking for a 'Camera Viewfinder' simulator plugin

I remember an old plugin for iMovie that made the image look as if it was from a camcorder's viewfinder - with a red light, "REC" and everything framed in a box.
I can't find that in the new iMovie 6 effects. Might anyone know if/where such a thing exists? I didn't see it at the Geethree or iMovieplugins websites.

Looking for a camera/camcorder to record presentations

I'm looking for a camera or camcorder that I can use to record a full day of presentations for my organization. The digital camera I have now can only record 10 minutes of video.
Any and all suggestions would be most appreciated!

If you are going to record video all day, you really need a camcorder. In an ideal world, you would also have someone to run it for you. But, in case you can't, choose one that has a remote control (Sony's PJ650, for example) to allow you to start/stop and zoom. It has 32gb on board, and offers a SDXC card slot to accommodate up to a 1tb memory card.

Looking for a camera to take pictures of little (fast moving) kids

I am looking for a camera that will take picutres of my little ones (3 and 1). My old point and shoot (Nikon Cool pix I think) camera takes forever to focus and take the picture after I push the button so the kids have already moved by that time. And it also takes forever to 'record the picture' to be able to take another. I was looking at the Canon T3 or T3i. What are the real differences between the two? I used the compare feature on the website but that didn't really help me out.

You are correct to move to a DSLR for faster auto focus, faster response and faster saving images compared to a compact camera.
T3i costs more, has more resolution, and has a flip out screen compared to the T3.
You would be smarter to consider Nikon DSLR's for cross-type focus points for faster auto-focussing. Canon DSLR's do not have focus assist lighting which can have a harder time to autofocus in low light when indoors.

Go the store to try it out the DSLR's. If you want more auto-focussing, consider a good external flash, they have illumination lasers.

Looking for a HAL mounting gkrellm plugin

Hi, I've decided to finally look into using HAL to mount/umount devices. So I commented out the entries for cdrom and all my other removable devices I've had in /etc/fstab and now I'm looking for an app that lets me mount and unmount the devices
My WM is fluxbox and so I'd prefer either a gkrellm plugin or a way to incorporate that into my menu.

I'd suggest you use halevt from aur.
You can add some mount device command to your menu if specific hal condition occures.

Looking for Video Camera to measure crack length??????

I need to measure crack length in fatigue test of an Aluminium sample automatically. For example, the camera can take shots (Images) every 4000 cycles (fatigue load cycles), maybe more cycles.
For my test, I need to measure both sides crack length (right side and left side of specimen centre line), shown in Fig1. So I need to take shots both crack tips at the same time, which means camera must have a large field view and the resolution should measure 0.01mm, to see both crack tips clearly. At the end, I must be able to acquire images from Labview. I can save all the images into my fold from Labview, then I can measure crack lengths in left and right side from every image.
Would you please give me any suggestions on the characteristic/specifications of this kind of camera?
What kind of camera can I use? How much this kind of camera? Where can I order this kind of camera?

Do you have the software that will analyze your images? If not, your camera is not your major cost here.
But for just cameras, check out edmund optics (edmundoptics.com I think). They have a camera selector guide that will at least give you an idea of the specs you actually need and the price range to look at.

Looking For A Camera For Our Church

I need to buy a camcorder for our church. It will be used to show live video during services and to record special events such as weddings. The main features I am looking for are:
(1) Flash memory
(2) Ability to handle low light conditions
(3) Audio input connection
That last item seems to be the challenge. I want to be able to input audio from our mixer, but it seems that you have to go to to the high-end (> $3,000) cameras to get a line-level audio input connection. We would like to stay under $1,000. Does anyone know of a camera that would meet my needs and still be affordable?
Alternatively, could we use the external mic input and adjust the mixer output level down to a level equivalent to a condenser mic?
Your help would be appreciated!

I think you already solved your problem in your description - use a lower end unit with a mic input and find an adapter from line-level to mic input levels.
I believe active XLR-to-3.5mm stereo adapters exist and are $100-200. I see passive ones (not sure how well they will actually work) for $10-20.
For the camcorder itself, Canon's HF series are a good bet. I have an HF100 and it's great. Current offering that is likely your best bet is the HF200. The HF S200 will be replacing it soon, however at a few hundred dollars extra.

I was interested in the Nikon p80 but after reading some reviews Im not sure if its what I want...heard its not for people who arent experienced with anything other than point and shoot cameras.

Although the Nikon p80 has a more advanced capability than the average point and shoot camera, it can also be set to operate the same as any point and shoot camera would. The most significant difference between the Nikon p80 and the average point and shoot camera is the lens on the p80 has a significantly more telephoto capability, which should allow you to shoot much more distant subjects. With $300 to $500 to spend there are very few point and shoot cameras that would be outside of your price range. When deciding what to purchase my first concern is always quality of construction, because when I spend $300 to $500 I want it to last a long time. In my personal opinion the best point and shoot camera on the market right now is the Canon G10, which retails for $499.99 on BestBuy.com. With the Canon G10 you would sacrifice some of the lens reach that the Nikon p80 has, but I feel like the quality of construction of the G10 outweighs the longer focal length of the p80. The Nikon p80 is also a great camera, and with a budget of $300 to $500 there are many options for you. I would suggest going to a Best Buy® store and start trying some out. I hope this helps out!

Looking for a digital (small) camera that would allow me to see myself when taking a photo without having to flip the camera completely around... Are there any suggestions on where I should start to look/recommendations? New to the camera world!

wondering what people are using for guitars. acoustic/ srat/ hollow body etc. kinda like if bfd had a guitar plugin. lots of dynamics ,clean samples with lots of dynamics and can sound like a real guitar if played well on the keys , not looking for loops!!! something i can play. the logic guitars are decent but the next next level. appreciate all feedback.

Looking for newer Office.qlgenerator quicklook plugin

I am looking for a newer version of the Office.qlgenerator quicklook plugin. It displays Word documents, though very poorly. I have version 2.0, dated 2009. I am running 10.6.8.

To the best of my knowledge, the Office QuickLook plugin is not available separately. The only way I know of to get a later version is to get a newer version of Mac OS X. If you're having problems with Word documents not appearing, though, perhaps this will help:

Note that even in the latest QuickLook plugin for Office, documents are not always correctly formatted. So depending on your specific issue, this may not be something you can solve.

Looking for a good popup extension/plugin

I have a client with a very specific popup in mind. I've checked around and so far I've been unable to find a program that can do exactly what they're looking for. Something tells me I can do everything listed below right in Dreamweaver but I'm not sure on how to add an image or style the popup/alert box to go with the website. Here's a description of what they want the popup to do:
The first window to popup:
Follow us on Google+ and enter a chance to win a $25 iTunes Gift Card! (include iTunes logo but no link)
Beneath this should be the google+ follow symbol centered.
Contest ends 6/1/14. (small at the bottom - we'll use the date 1 month from the time we launch the popup)
We need to have the google+ image linked to the Google+ account so that the minute they click on it, they automatically start following. Is that possible? It won't work for it to take them to that page to follow it since then they won't be able to sign up.

I found a popup that worked for Facebook but I guess it needs to be Google+. If I can get this done in DW even better. I already have a Google+ button plugin but adding that code to a 3rd party extension hasn't worked thus far. But I'm fine with using a plugin or extension it just needs to be able to have the Google+ button that automatically follows without leaving the popup.

I've downloaded and ran opensparcT1 chip8_mini regression.
According to the regression report.log file, slowest rate simulation was *~190[Hz]*:
"./iob_int_disp_9:chip8_mini:chip8_mini:0/status.log:Cyc= 107199, Sec= 563.730, C/S= 190.2"
I'm looking for a slower rate testcase, *30[Hz]* and less. It should Probably be a chip testcase where all Interfaces are toggled extensively at the same time.
Is it available in opensparc T1 env?
what is the testcase name?
and finally,
How can I ran single testcase instead of full/mini regression?

Using the PULSE_VOLTAGE component (Sources»Signal Voltage Sources), you can generate a pulsed source as you describe. The three attributes that sound of interest to you are:
Initial value: This is the "zero level" as mentioned in your question
Pulsed value: This is the "one level"
Delay Time: This is the turn-on delay.
The rest of your queries, such as those regarding photon density, sound contextual to your problem rather than a function that Multisim performs, I can't really help you there!

Looking for compatible camera

i also am in the market for a new camcorder that is compatible with my imac OS X system and FCE. i like the sony hdrsr1 but i'm not sure if it will work and i will be able to edit from this. does anyone know? should i just stick to mini dv and be safe in this case? does anyone have any suggestions for a camera that i could edit on this system with and still have it be a good quality camera as far as picture quality, priced under $1500?

ACR - Adobe Camera Raw versions are specific to the version of Photoshop you have.
They don't provide updates to your version for cameras that were released much later.
You need to download the LATEST version of DNR Converter and use this to convert a FOLDER that contains your D3100 files to DNGs which then can be opened in your older version of ACR for Photoshop CS4.
The Adobe DNG Converter, a free utility that converts files from more than 350 cameras to DNG, enables you to easily convert camera-specific raw files to a more universal DNG raw file.
