Looking for a certain transition

Hi there
I been using final cut for a while now, and I been looking hard to trying to find a certain transition. I want want the transition to be an OVER EXPOSURE to the next clip.
Right now I do this by keyframing the brightness of the two clips, and throwing a cross dissolve in between the clips, however this is not exactly the look I am lookg for. I want the exposure to increase for clip A, and the exposure to decrease in clip B, not the brightness
Does anyone know how I can do this, or perhaps recommend me a 3rd party external filter which will allow me to do this?
Thanks in Advance!

  • How to look for a certain value in a database using sql

Hello everyone. How do you do this in SQL? Or, is there a way to look for a certain value in a database? What I'm trying to do is this:
I want to look for the exact value "abcdefg" in the database so that oracle will return me details on the following that contains the said value:
    1. the name of the table(s)
    2. the column/field name(s)
Note: "abcdefg" could exist in different tables with different column names with different data types.
Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.
UPDATE: What about if I just want to check those fields/columns with string data types?

    DECLARE

  • Looking for a specific transition

I'm looking for a specific transition - I have an image layer of a credit card, that starts out only showing the thin edge, then flips out to reveal the flat surface of the card. Closest I could find in FC was 3D Spinback.
Can you recommend a good source of FC transitions, free or paid? One that shows previews would be especially good.

I thought you might have this issue, and I had meant to point out a problem with your workflow, but it slipped my mind.
The file you're working with is a .psd, and it contains 1 layer, rather than being a flattened image. So what's happening is that when you drop the file into the Sequence it becomes a Nested Item.
That's why when you double click it, it opens in its own sequence, constrained to its own dimensions. When you add the basic 3d filter, you are then animating it in that sequence, rather than the main sequence.
Without going back to Photoshop, the easiest fix is to
    1. Cut the effect from the clip.
    2. Go back to the main sequence and Option Double Click the clip. You are now accessing the master clip, rather than its subclip which is the single .psd layer.
    3. Paste the filter. I believe your keyframed motion will be retained, and the clip will now rotate in the main sequence without cropping.
    4. Remember from here on that to access the filter again you have to Option Double Click the layer.

  • Looking for funny clapperboard transition

    Hey everyone...
I'm looking for a transition that you see all the time in comedy, especially when they fake outtakes. It's where you hear the sound effect of a clapper board, accompanied by a flash of light and a beep. I have a series of outtakes that I'm putting together and I think this would be a fun little touch.
Anyone know where I can get such a thing, or how to make it from scratch in '08?
    Thanks!

unfortunateley, iM08/09 comes 'as is' - no additional effects etc. avail.
so, we have to built that effect on our own:
create in any app a plain white jpeg .. add to your iPhoto Library.
    add still after clip
    add a VERY fast disolve
search iNet for a free 'clapper board' sound and add to transition
shorten white pic to a few frames..

  • Looking for a certain calendar  app or widget

I had an LG Enlighten and loved the little calendar "widget" that I put on my home screen.  It showed upcoming events without having to touch anything.
I dropped and broke the screen and had to get a new phone.  I now have a Galaxy Stratosphere but it doesn't have the same calendar.  I miss the other and want it back!!  Yes, I just stamped my foot.  I'm very disorganized and that little widget/app really helped.  It was about the size of the "MyVerizon" data usage box.  Does anyone out there know which one I'm looking for????  Please help.  Thanks.

Most manufacturers include their own skin on top of Android and a lot of widgets that come pre-installed are part of these skins. That being said, if you search the Play Store for calendar widget you may find something similar.

  • Looking for a certain application/program

I am most definitly in the wrong forum, but the people who use this forum are probably the most knowlidgable about the application i am looking for.
I have a wacom tablet, and am getting very good at drawings and animation. I was wondering if anyone knew of a program where i can draw on my tablet , and it would record it like a film, so that i could import it in fcp. If anyone knows of this program, a similar program, or a program that includes this feture i would be very interested in knowing what it is?
    Ethan

Another route would be to do it in After Effects.
You wouldn't draw, like what you're describing, but you can create paths that would stroke themselves on. i.e. you'd draw it before hand with the pen tool in After Effects or Illustrator, then stroke your paths, and key frame the end-point to make it look like it 'draws' on.
It's a bit trickier, but then you can make sure there are no mistakes, make is scalable (vector-based), and very smooth.
    Just so you have options.

  • Looking for a certain app.  can you help...

I am going flying in a little cessna tomorrow. This will be my 2nd lesson. The instructor is happy for me to have my iphone on and it doesn't have to be in flight mode.
What this means is I can use the GPS to track the flight. I am looking for a particular app that will use the GPS and plot my track and allow me to place this over a google map or even google earth to show exactly where I have flown.
I have used a similar app for running (RunKeeper) and also another called iTrial but didn't like that one much.
Is there any you can recommend?
    Thanks
    Mark

If you go to the iTunes App store and look in the Navigation category there are many apps related specifically to flying.
For what you specify, GPS Recorder might be the one to check out. I've not used it, though, so YMMV.

  • Looking for "video glitch" transition effect

I'm looking for a (cheap?) way to create an effect similar to a tape glitch / cheap switcher where the video image momentarily loses horizontal or vertical sync, you get electronic noise on the screen, then it returns to normal.
    Dual G5; FCP 5; DVD Studio Pro 4   Mac OS X (10.4.5)   JVC SR-GS30 deck, DVX-100a

Which alters the question to: how to get a monitor to produce this kind of glitch on demand.... <<</div>
Vertical and horizontal hold knobs. This is one reason why it's a good idea to have an old TV set around. If you can find one at a garage sale that uses tubes or ancient transistors, grab it.
Takes some practice. You can record snow or between-the-channels noise ir or actually pipe video into the antenna input from a channel 3/4 modulator out of a VHS or DVD deck. The image can be used to drive displacement maps or used for mattes of other video effects. Funny thing, audiences still expect to see snow on a TV set even though solid state and digital tuners haven't displayed snow for a decade. And TVs haven't done the shrink-and-wink when you turn 'em off since the 60s but it's still a classic way to show a TV set turning off.
btw, I admit my ignorance, what is: CoSA? < </div>
    Ah, youngsters.

  • Looking for a certain Apple II fish game

    Hey,
I'm looking for info on an old fish game that I played on my grandfather's computer many years ago...I think it was for Apple II, and the fish were Dolly Varden, mackinaw, chubb, rainbow trout, etc., and you had to eat other fish and avoid an osprey (this basic description was obtained from http://nslog.com/archives/2004/08/03/earlycomputermemories.php).
Does anyone know what this game was called? Thanks!

Nevermind; I found that it's called Odell Lake.

  • Looking for a certain type of computer

I need a computer that will handle my specific needs. I am in the market for a desktop specifically - I don't really need the bundle pack with the monitor and printer since I already have those, so I guess I am most interested in a tower only.
I do a lot of digital work - whether it is using Adobe Photoshop for digital artwork or Adobe Premiere Pro for video editing. So I need something that will handle that. That is my main purpose for getting another computer since my current one (HP) is slow and freezes too often.
I have always had an eye on the Mac since I heard good things about it for that purpose, however I don't have the $$$ to put down for that. So I am looking again towards the PC.
I would like to keep it under $800, but I would consider going a tad higher if need be - but probably no more than $1,000.
I am really confused trying to decide, so any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

Since you don't have the Money for a Mac, which is what I'd recomend for a graphic artist etc. you should check into the HP Pavillion Line. Their higher end desktops can handle a lot and the price is under 900.
There are some new ones coming out, in fact I think they were announced let me double check....scratch that only the new notebooks were announced. Keep an eye out over the next week for new HP Pavilion desktops.

  • I'm looking for a certain effect

is there a plugin/effect out there that you can make it look like the letters are being spray painted in livetype? i really wasn't coming up with anything when i looked in this forum or on google. please help me if you know how to make it look like the text is being spray painted onto the screen.
    thanksx

There's nothing in Live Type that does what you want...the closest thing would be Skywriter in the Live fonts but you can't change the color on it and you would need to put each letter on a seperate track to make it work.
I think I read in a discussion months ago about doing this in Motion, you might check that forum.
Other than that the only plugin I've heard about is at
    www.pluginz.com/product/10062?category=62
I"ve never used it thought so can't attest to its quality.
    Good Luck

  • Looking for a certain iPhone case

I have seen a case in pictures in either MacWorld or MacLife that I would like to buy but I can't find advertised anywhere. It is very similar to the iSee, which is a hard, see through, clear plastic shell case. This other case has a pull out easel on the back that the iSee doesn't have. It is made so that you can prop your phone up at an angle in landscape direction. I thought it would be great for watching movies on airplanes.
Does anyone know what that case is called and where you buy it?

  • Looking for a certain app

I'm trying to find an app that is for all those little "tags" that you get from stores....cvs, kroger, best buy, the little tags that they scan when you check out.  I heard that there was an app out there that stored all those tags in one place, that way I don't have to carry 50 around in my purse.
Thanks for any help you can give me

  • Any suggestions on how to restore my history? I'm looking for a certain date that was erased.

I would love to restore my history log from a couple of weeks back. It was erased, accidentally and I need to have it restored. I see there is an option to restore history, but this doesn't seem to be working. Any suggestions?

''places.sqlite'' in your profile folder keeps your bookmarks and history. Replacing the current file with a backup copy is the only built-in way to restore history.

  • Looking for a certain app for unwanted caller

I am trying to find an app that when a particular caller is calling, it will inform them "I have a new number" or "this number is changed." Or something similar to rid of these unwanted calls. Any information would be helpful.

No such app exists. Nor will it--apps will not be approved that interfere with the basic function of a phone. Call blocking occurs at the provider level, not phone level.
