  • Required JAR's for developing custom adapter modules for PI 7.31 SP 09

    Hello experts,
I have a new development wherein i have to consume .xlsx files in PI 7.31
i have gone through a lot of blogs but did not find any relevant JAR's specially for PI 7.31, I am planning  to go for custom module development for conversion of .xlsx file into xml
so need your help for finding the JAR's for PI 7.31 and also some custom JAVA source code for conversion of excel spreadsheet into XML.
    Regards,
    Sushant.Shinde

    Hi sushant,
The module key seems correct ffor you. But the blog you shared is cozy. I developed 4 adapter modules using a document. Please refer that.
And NWDS EHP1 is available you can use that to be perfectly sure on compatibility.
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/c0b39e65-981e-2b10-1c9c-fc3f8e6747fa?overridelayout=true
use the above document to verify the steps you followed-
    Please provide following screenshots
NWA->configuration->infrastructure->Application Modules-> and search for *xlmodule*
if you find your module then click on it and at the bottom there will be a window with JNDI Name. Share that JNDI name and use that JNDI name in your Module. (localejbs/JNDIName).
Also go to NWA->TroubleShooting-> JNDI Browser and see where is your Adapter module situated. I mean under which directory. Either directly inside root/localejbs/ or root/localejbs/sap.com.
Please verify your steps according to that and redeploy and share result.
and Go to NWA- Site Map-> find Start & Stop
In that go to Java Applicaitons Tab and search for your module. It must be started. If it is stopped try starting it.

  • How to develop custom add-in for sharepoint designer 2010

    Hi ,
Can anybody suggest me how to create a custom add-in for sharepoint designer 2010?
Are there any templates through which i can create a managed add-in using C#? or developing COM add-in (VB6) is the only solution?
    Please suggest.
    Regards
    Sujasree

    Hi,  Sujasree
Based on my knowledge, there have not been public samples and walkthroughs for SharePoint Designer 2010 add-in.
MSDN provides some sample for Word and Excel:
    Office Development Samples and Walkthroughs:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/z63ctsh2.aspx
Additionally, VS 2010 have not provide such templates yet.
So would you please share your business requirement with us?
SPD is a just client to manage and customize SharePoint site, its powerful but difficult to do extension.
You could also consider builting your custom add-in elsewhere, e.g.: in a customized admin page or webpart, which is easy to achieve.
           Hope this can help!
    Best Regards,
    Aaron

  • We are looking for a developer familiar with Captivate, Lectora and SumTotal for a small re-do job. More in the future.

We just lost our favorite technical project manager/developer who took a job somewhere full time. This is a refresh on a course she put together a couple of years ago. It should be a fast simple job as she has outlined the steps but we lack the resources in-house.  It will be a chance for us to get to know you. We are in LA but you can be anywhere. Here is what she described as the basic steps - we have the changed content from the client:
    1. Update the Captivate file and render as Flash video (.flv). I used Captivate 5.5, but I am guessing your contractor could import the project file into the online version of Captivate.
    2. In Lectora, replace the Captivate video. NOTE: Be sure to copy the properties from the existing Captivate video object embedded on the course page, so you can set them for the replacement object.
    3. In Lectora, replace the question text. NOTE: Be sure the Feedback text directs them back to the content that relates to the question.
    4. Publish the course to HTML and test. Be sure to test the updated activity and quiz. NOTE: While testing, you may need to override the progression logic:
Ctrl-Shift-F9 turns progression logic on and sends you to the Table of Contents
Ctrl-Shift-F10 turns progression logic off and sends you to the Table of Contents
    5. Correct any problems you find and retest in HTML.
    6. Publish the course to SCORM 1.2. There are some client specific settings that will have to used. The way I handled it in 2012 was to edit the imsmanifest.xml file directly by comparing it to 2011.
Please let me know if you are interested and experienced in this kind of course development. Thanks

Captivate is e-learning development software not a dedicated video convertor, you are better off trying something like Adobe Media Encoder or Super.

  • Version 1.1.1 of LabHSM Toolkit for Complex Event-Driven Development in LabVIEW – Small Corrections and Huge Changes in Licensing.

A new version of the unique toolkit is now available for download. As announced earlier, LabHSM makes it possible to easily create and then maintain complex event-driven applications in LabVIEW as a collection of HSM-driven active object VIs using a higher level of abstraction and agile software development methodologies. These active object VIs are created based on a universal Hierarchical State Machine ( HSM or statechart ) template. Therefore, all your code looks similar regardless of its functionality!
So, what’s new in version 1.1.1?
The code (made in LabVIEW 7.0 for Windows) now comes complete with block diagrams (password protected).
Simpler debugging code in the full template.
Extra menu items in the editor to open VIs as well as HSM files - nice to have when the LabHSM editor is the only VI open.
Copying of default actions is now implemented correctly.
No more run-time licenses! Just buy a developer's license once and distribute as many applications as you like!
The "Demo_" prefix is no longer required for VIs created in the trial version.
No more nag messages while running your HSMs!
As before, the LabHSM toolkit is available for UNLIMITED PERIOD trial. Please visit http://www.labhsm.com for details and download. The site also contains references which you may want to check to learn more about hierarchical state machines and active object computing.

  • How Open source Flex looks to a mid level developer

Here is my response to a post Matt made on a blog:
    THe whole post:
    http://blog.simb.net/2009/01/19/take-flex-back-for-the-community/
    @Matt
1st off thanks, now my input:
The crux of your criticism seems to be that the process that we use for decision-making is closed its certainly not how we feel
Unfortuntly, this seems like a case of bad commuication by Adobe and the Flex team. If notable community experts get the impression of closed doors, then *certainly* the rest of us get this impression as well.
but there has been very little participation from the community so far
Im a solid dev, and not an expert but I can contribute in things such as testing and low level optimization; But, the Adobe open source site is a galactic disaster and discourages me from getting invloved. It has so many webpages that just go around in circles - filled with text that is verbose, this frustrates me to a great deal. As opposed to somehting straight foreward like:
    http://framework.zend.com/download/latest
    or
    http://code.google.com/p/papervision3d/
Everything is here and easily notable. I avoid the seamingly endless pages and confusion. If I want to get to the Flex dev mailing list I have to register, then choose the lists, add the lists to my account. go though my account prefs read some directions.. then set up some other preferences..jeeeezzzz. If I want to submit a feature request I am directed to create another login for some Bug and Issue management? HUH? I thought I was submitting a featue request.
Right on papervisions google HOME page I see Getting started > Papervision3D Mailing List.
Next when I finially do get to Flex SVN, this trunk. is nothing like I have seen.what IS all this stuff and where do I go to learn about it? There are countless subfolders filled with things I vaguely understand and if I want to learn what it is. where do I go? Is there even a src folder?
    Here is a classic example.
    Flex trunk Read Me:
    http://opensource.adobe.com/svn/opensource/flex/sdk/trunk/README.txt
    vs.
    Zend Trunk Read me:
    http://framework.zend.com/svn/framework/standard/trunk/README.txt
*What* is the Flex team thinking with this?
I just spent 5 minutes or so twirling through all these SVN directories and Adobes website and I am clueless. I feel like the project is unessarily complex and disorganized - even if it isnt. This just convinced me to delete my Flex sdk bookmark on my SVN client.
Adobe just lost one potential contributor to Flex SDK.
We have another idea that were bouncing around that I hope to share in a week or two but wont get into now.
Saying stuff like this is what gives people the impression of closed. Why not post these ideas the Flex team has? Even if it is stupid or incomplete
    Thats the whole point.

Wow, thanks for your response. This is great.<br /><br />I now understand that I had a combination of prejudice and ignorance  <br />when regarding Adobe Open Source. Perhaps my ignorance on these  <br />particulars is something that other devs encounter ( that whole  <br />perception thing ).   I have chatted with people who consider the Flex  <br />SDK and Flex Builder... not the same... but fused together so much  <br />that it'd be just crazy to try and use one with out the other   When I  <br />mention using Flex without Flex Builder.... people get that glazed  <br />over look in their eyes....( FYI I'm a FDT man, but am keeping a close  <br />eye on the new Flex Builder )<br /><br />I'll use Zend as an example ( it's the best that I can come up with )  <br />but I feel like there is a difference between the open source  <br />framework and Zend Studio ( commercial software ). Anyway, I'm really  <br />excited about how you've responded to all this.  I have more ideas,  <br />but Ill sit on them and think it through and get ready for next weeks  <br />meeting.<br /><br />Thanks,<br /><br />Alan<br /><br /><br />On Jan 23, 2009, at 1:31 AM, Matt Chotin wrote:<br /><br />> A new message was posted by Matt Chotin in<br />><br />> General Discussion --<br />>  How Open source Flex looks to a mid level developer<br />><br />> I've delayed responding to this because frankly I'm not sure what to  <br />> say for much of it.  The first thing I have to point out is that  <br />> many of the things you mention are related to Flex Builder and not  <br />> the Flex SDK, which is the part that is open source.
