Looking for a generic Labview GBIB driver for a 10X10 switch matrix.

This is for a Dowkey 2101 10X10 microwave switch matrix.

Unfortunately I was unable to find a driver for this instrument in the National Instruments Instrument Driver Network (http://zone.ni.com/idnet). This leaves you with one of a couple options. First, you can submit a request for this driver at:
http://zone.ni.com/idnet/other.htm
We develop drivers based on demand and popularity so the more requests we have for it, the greater the possibility that we will develop one.
If you would like to try developing your own instrument driver (or modify the existing one), we have documentation, model instrument drivers, and driver templates to help at :
http://zone.ni.com/idnet/development.htm).
Also, National Instrument sponsors third party vendors that specialize in National Instruments' products and services. Som
e of the vendors specialize in driver development. I would suggest contacting one of the Alliance members at:

    Hi,
All the Instrument Drivers NI has can be found at the Instrument Driver network:
    www.ni.com/idnet.
I searched for the instrument you are using and I couldn't find anything on it.
In this case, you can contact the device manufacturer to see if they have a library. If not, you'll need the command set of the instrument. With the command set you can then use the VISA VIs to sent these commands and receive any data from the instrument.

Where can I download a LabVIEW GPIB driver for an ANDO AQ6315E Optical Spectrum Analyzer?
    Thanks.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The Instrument Driver Network has all the drivers for instruments. There is no driver specific to that model, but there is one for the 6310B. Perhaps that may work for you. You may need to modify it. If not, you will need to write one yourself. You can get a lot of material for this here: http://www.ni.com/devzone/idnet/development.htm

  • Looking for the generic pcl printer driver

I'm aware of how to add this printer through sys prefs/printers. However I'd like to script it to make it more flexible in my org. Only problem is I'm having a difficult time locating the generic pcl printer driver on my system (although it must be there, as the printer is connected/working). Doesn't appear to be many clues in the UI.

  • Looking for a NICOLET BE490 Series Driver for WIN- NT

    Hi,
is there anybody, who has written a driver for the NICOLET BE490 Series
    Transient Recorder Board.
    Geetings Ruediger

    Hello,
I just visited the Nicolet website and found an information sheet on this device that mentions "import and export capability" with LabVIEW...perhaps Nicolet can provide you with some LabVIEW resources to use this board.
On another note...I took a look at the specifications for this device, and it looks like it would be more than adequately matched in performance by our E Series measurement devices, which integrate seamlessly with LabVIEW through our free NI-DAQ software. I recommend you visit www.ni.com/daq for more information about our high-class DAQ products.
Good luck with your application, and have a pleasant day.

  • I am looking to buy an external hard drive for my maced to time machine.

I am looking an external hard drive for my mac and I do see one in PC world that is compatible with time machine. I do not want it connected to time machine and wonder if I can use it without connecting.

In my view you need to have one external drive connected to Time Machine all the time in order to receive the true benefits it can give.   Do not use your internal HD for this purpose.
Having said that, to double up on back ups is a very practical thing to do.   I would advise you get a portable HD, say 1TB, from WD or the like, back up your system, disconnect, then top up by connecting it every couple of months or so.
You can then store the portable away from the machine, perhaps with a trusted relative, so adding safe keeping against fire, theft or power disasters

  • Has anybody got Labview GPIB driver for a Time Electronics 5021 Calibrator

    Windows NT and 2000 platforms.
Time electronics ltd multifunction claibrator model no 5021 or model no 9821

    Hi,
National Instruments' Instrument driver library is at:
    www.ni.com/idnet.
I did a search and couldn't find an instrument driver for this instrument.
You can contact the instrument manufacturer to see if they have a LabVIEW instrument driver.
Other options are contacting an alliance member to develop the instrument driver or you can do the development yourself. Here's a tutorial on writing instrument drivers in LabVIEW:

  • Looking for advice on setting up drives for VMs on Hyper-V

    Hardware - Xeon E3 server, 16GB ram, 256Gb SSD, and 7 3-4 TB drives
Hyper-V core 2012 R2 installed on the SSD - did not take much space
Goal: To setup 2 VMs, one Windows Server Essentials 2012 R2 (use=home server) using a majority of the space, and hopefully backup space too, and a separate VM for Ubuntu LAMP server for learning.
I have a separate machine with Windows 8.1 Pro, remote desktop to the Hyper-V computer is working as is Hyper-V Manager.
I have 7 HDDs, right now all in one storage pool.  That might have been a mistake, as some of those drives are supposedly for server backup.
    Questions:
Should I plan on installing WSE 2012 R2 to the SSD?
Should I create one giant drive from the storage pool, or separate drives for the VM uses.  I guess I am not sure whether to create one giant storage space, and then create multiple VDHX drives as needed for the VMs.   Can WSE 2012 backup
    to a Virtual Drive?
For instance should I create one 1TB storage space, format it, give it a letter, and then create the VM for the Ubuntu LAMP install?
Create another storage space for the data for the WSE, and another for Backup space for WSE?
    Any suggestions will be appreciated.
    Thanks, Ross

    Hi Ross,
I think you can either install WSE 2012 R2 either to the SSD or to a Virtual Drive created on the top of a storage space.
If you create one giant drive from a storage space, and then create multiple VDHX drives as needed for the VMs, then the disks are called Pass-Through Disks. If you create multiple separate Virtual disks for the VM uses, then the disks are called Fixed Disks.
You could refer to the threads below to know the difference between the two disks:
Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V. VHD or Pass-through Disk?
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/7db96291-bd07-485a-936a-837f5bce529a/windows-server-2012-hyperv-vhd-or-passthrough-disk?forum=winserverhyperv
Need better understanding between fixed and pass-through disks

And we don't need to create another storage space for the data for the WSE, and another storage space for Backup space for WSE. Then can use the drives in the same storage space.

  • Looking for a 488.2 device driver for LynxOS.

    Hi,
I am working on a NI6781 controller with integrated GPIB (IEEE 488.2) Device (PCI-GPIB, pci-Device Id:c801). The operating system is LynxOS 4.0.
Is there a device driver available for the IEEE 488.2 device for LynxOS?
    Thanks
    Harald

    Hello Harald,
National Instruments does not provide a driver for the PCI-GPIB interface on LynxOS. We do provide a driver development kit (DDK) for GPIB that would allow you to implement such a driver if you would like to add support for another operating system (such as LynxOS). Please see http://sine.ni.com/apps/we/nioc.vp?lang=US&cid=4873 for more information on the DDK.

  • Anybody has a LabVIEW 6 driver for Agilent 8510C?

Hello. I have LabVIEW version 6 and I am trying to talk to an Agilent 8510C network analyser. I seem to be able to communicate with the instrument only for sweep, number of points, etc, but I cannot transfer any data from the 8510 to the PC (to export data to Excel). I tried saving data to memory, and using the "outpdata, outpfrmt, outpraw" commands to transfer numbers to PC with no luck.
The NI site has only labVIEW 7 and 8 driver versions, so I am stuck. Has anybody developed anything for L.6? Any help much appreciated

Give this a try. In the future, if you need other drivers, it would help if you would attach the driver from NI's site. It's pretty simple to do a save for previous version assuming someone still has older versions of LabVIEW still installed. A lot of us do so it just makes it easier to do the down conversion if you attach the file you need converted.

  • Looking for best 1tb external hard drive for 2008 I-mac?

Hi, I'm currently running Snow Leopard 10.6.8, but might upgrade to Mavericks at some point. I have 3GB of RAM, but will upgrade to 6GB soon.  I would like to get a reliable 1tb external hard drive.  It's only for the desktop, so it doesn't have to be portable, although it might be nice to have a smaller one.  I don't have much money to spend (not more than 90$), so if I could get a good one that doesn't cost too much (perhaps on sale?) that would be perfect.  I mainly need it to store a lot of photos and videos, nothing fancy.  What would be a good drive, or reliable company?  I thought about this one: WD My Passport for Mac 1TB Portable External Hard Drive Storage USB 3.0 (WDBLUZ0010BSL-NESN) which I found on sale at 59,99$.  It appeared to have a lot of good reviews on other sites, but many bad ones on this one, so I'm not sure.  It also says on here that it needs 10.7 or higher to work, although someone else said it would work with Snow Leopard as well.
    Any suggestions?  Thanks!

Very easy. Plug in the drive, open Disk Utility (in the Utilities folder which in the Applications folder).
Select the drive in the sidebar. Select the partition tab, and select the number of partitions (one is fine).
Click options at the bottom of the screen. Select GUID.
Make sure the format is Mac OS Extended (journaled), name the disk and click apply.
It takes longer to type how to do it than to actually do it.

  • Looking for a reliable bigger Hard Drive for MacBook

Hi all, I'm running out of space on my MacBook so I'm in the market for a bigger maybe faster Hard Drive, I understand it have to be a 2.5 inch ATA Fujitsu. My wish is to get a 1TB but 500GB or so will do it. I also understand it came with a 5400 RPM and wondering if would be a problem to install a faster 7200 RPM. Please if you have a model or brand you trust, I will appreciate your advice.

Another question for this thread. This regarding backing up the primary HD. I started with my PC because it is in the most danger of crashing. I used ¨CLONE¨ to my external hard drive. My understanding is that this will give me a backup external HD with everything, including applications, settings, data, pictures, mail and all, just in case I need to restore an entire hard drive, as has happened before.
The backup software also has a program for "IMAGE" although the instructions do not say what is the difference. Can you tell me the difference?
It seems to me that in past times, when I thought I backed up everything, the applications were not backed up and I lost any that I had downloaded from the Internet or that I lost the original discs. In one instance I did not lose the original disc, but the required license number. (Microsoft XP and I've lost it again) Try to convince Microsoft you lost that number you need to load XP! I am unsure of what backup software I was using and once it was a technician in Best Buy doing the backup of the PC to change the hard drive.
I have not started new with my MacBook, since it has proven reliable and I have the important things backed up in various ways, if not the best way yet.
So, I am asking what is the difference, if any, between CLONE and IMAGE in backup software language? Also, will EVERYTHING, including applications, settings etc. be backup.
