Looking for a goot *.txt editor for windows.

Hi,
so does anybody know one? It should handly files of any size. And it would be great, if one could choose which words should be shown in a different color (so that I can highlight keywords). Or maybe one, which already supports java like this site does, when I use the [ code] tag.

there are probably 10,000 for all I know. But a good cheap one is textPad . It allows you to define syntax definitions and a bunch of other stuff.

Is there a replacement for Photosmart Premier photo editor for Windows 8 ?

I just upgraded to Windows 8 with a new HP computer but I have lost a fabulous photo editor Photosmart Premier. The drivers on my OEM cd would not install so I have downloaded all the drivers for my C4680 colour printer for Windows 8 but Photosmart was not included. Is it called something else now and I have just missed it? Thanx for your consideration. SB

Hi SnowBird43x80. It does appear the HP Photosmart Premier photo editor is not available for Windows 8.
The replacement software is called HP Photo Creations and is available here:

Dreamweaver CC and Windows 8.1 - Can't Find A Valid Editor For This File Extension

Was running the latest version with no issues and then I loaded Office 2013 .. Now when I am in the remote site and try to double click on a .cfm file, I get a dialog box..Can't Find A Valid Editor For This File Extension..
I tried the support chat and they said Dreamweaver support was not available, try again later???
So I thought I would reinstall the CC version and now I can see the Dreamweaver icon next to the files but still ... can't open the file..
Any assistance would be appreciated?

The issue is only in Windows 8.x where when Dreamweaver CC is installed, it is not able to turn on the file type associations by default. The workaround for now is to manually add the extensions both within Windows and then within Dreamweaver CC itself.
Go to Control Panel > Programs > Default Programs > Set Your Default Programs and select Dreamweaver CC and then select 'Choose defaults for this program' and Select All or the extensions you want to open in Dreamweaver CC
Start Dreamweaver CC and go to Edit > Preferences > File Types/Editors and add '.cfm .cfc' to the extensions and then add C:\Program Files (x86)\Dreamweaver CC\Dreamweaver.exe then click on Apply and Close
That should be it.

Looking for a PDF editor for Mac.

I have hundreds of PDF files that contain the combination of letters "XX" and I want them all to be "HH" is there an editor out there that can do this?
I tried using Pitstop, and it cannot batch anything like this. I would like to be able to do many files at the same time. If I have to do them one at a time, I may as well keep doing it the way I am.
Currently going back to the ID file making the change and re-writing PDF---working fine, just wondering if there is a better way.
Just looking for a way to make text edits in the PDF, I have found some editors for PC but having issues with PS fonts. Yes I could change everything to open type, and then do the change, but that may bring on new problems.

But control-alt-delete in NT4.0 is a kernel level security feature that can't be
defeated unless you hide the keyboard. By using registry settings you can
control what is presented to the user after he hits control-alt-delete and keep
him/her from shutting down, but you will also have to lock up the computer to keep
your users from hitting the reset button and hide the mouse.
If you want to boot up an NT environment without a keyboard and mouse
you will need to go to NT Embedded. NTE allows you to build a custom
OS that does not require keyboard or mouse to boot. You can also install
just the components you need, ie; no browser, menus, control panel, etc.

Looking for a 2-track editor to replace Peak. Suggestions?

I know a lot of us used and loved Peak and now need a replacement. Has anybody found anything that is a simple and straight forward 2 track editor for mac? I just need to do things like trim tips and tails, normalize, format, sample & bit convert, etc. Don't need multiple tracks or convoluted work flows...
Any thoughts greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It seems the "Triple A" combination (Apple / Apogee / Audacity) has some problems. Tried the two most recent builds of Audacity and couldn't get either to work properly with either my Ensemble or Duet 2. Went round and round with support people in the forum (very helpful folks!) and tried every possible commbination of settings imaginable, worked on it for weeks, but no dice.
Using the built-in audio everything worked fine in Audacity. But as soon as I switched to either of my Apogee boxes there were major playback problems. Stuttering audio and "zippering" playback. Tried everything, can't get rid of it.
So, A) switch my audio driver to built-in and use headphones to edit 2-track mixes B) Buy Sound Forge and deal with it's growing pains, or C) find an option I haven't discovered yet.
Really pulling for "C". Ha ha.
Has anyone had experience with Amadeus Pro? Any other possibilities?

Looking for JDeveloper extension for RTD External Rule Editor

In Section "17.2.4.1 Construct" in the document http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E28389_01/bi.1111/e16630/external_objects.htm it is mentioned :
4. In the Project Technologies tab, move RTD ADF to the Selected column, then click Next
This technology is available on installing the extension for RTD External Rule Editor. (Refer Section 17.2.2.1 External Rule Editor and External Rule Editor Client)
But I can't find this extension anywhere - not even the exact name of the extension.
If anybody has installed this or has this extension, would you please share.

Custom UI or editor for input-parameter

I think I need to implement a custom UI editor for an input-paramenter. My input parameter is really a HashTable. I'd like to present a dialog that allows the user to enter any number of key value pairs. The optional "editor" element looks promising because it allows you to specify a ui-component. I have searched and searched for sample code, but haven't found any. Would some kind soul please point me to a resource that shows how to implement such as custom UI (whether it involves the "editor" element or not)?

I was actually trying to point to another page, although that page may be applicable. Apparently the URL in my browser window was not sufficient to recreate my state in livedocs. I was looking at the reference for component.xml, specifically where it describes an optional <editor> element of <input-parameter>. This <editor> component also has a child called <ui-component>. I haven't found any sample code that uses these two elements.
I need to call my component with a Map or Hashtable (an arbitrary set of Key/Value String pairs). This Map needs to be easily configurable in LiveCycle Workbench. I've seen numerous operations that popup dialogs for input-parameters and serialize their data. I was thinking that I will have to implement my own dialog.
It sounds like you are suggesting I can achieve this with a variable and the set value service. I don't quite understand. How would I insert the string pairs?

Calling default XML editor for system in Java

I'm looking for a way to call the system's default editor for xml files from a Java application. In other words, if I'm running on a Windows system, I might want to start Notepad, or if I'm on a Mac, maybe I want to start TextWrangler or oXygen, etc.
Essentially, I want to pass down an XML file to the system and have the underlying system determine the default editor, and then open the file in that editor.
I've seen some code using Runtime.getRuntime().exec("cmd /c notepad.exe") and the like, but that assumes
a) I know what the default editor for XML on the system is
b) I know the executable path for this file
I don't have a way of knowing either of those assumptions. Can anyone suggest ways for me to solve this bind?

You might want to check out the Desktop class which "allows a Java application to launch associated applications registered on the native desktop to handle a URI or a file" including "launching a registered application to open, edit or print a specified file".
But note: "The mechanism of registereing, accessing, and launching the associated application is platform-dependent." In particular if there is no association between file/URI and application all you get is a IOException at the time you call open().

Where can I get window os 2003 for unity 5.0(1) for MCS7835I1 platform?

I didn't receive any DVD on window os 2003 for unity 5.0(1) for MCS7835I1 platform for my purchase.
I only have got the IP Telephony OS 2003.1.1 which stated in the document that it is not for Unity.
So I tried to open case to TAC but they asked us to look from Microsoft but I believed that normal window os will not be able to install on MCS sever, am I right? So where actually can I look for this window os?

Hi Jarunee,
You have 2 options:
1) You purchased the MCS-7835-I1-ECS1, I would expect this one to come with the platform configuration disk (PCD). If you did not get this you will need to contact customer service as outline in this document
2) You purchased another flavor of this server model such as MCS-7835-I1-IPC1 or directly from IBM. This will not come with the PCD. For this you will not get a PCD and you will need to supply the operating system yourself.
The installation guide covers both scenarios to set up Unity either with PCD or self supplied OS.

Dreamweaver as custom editor for other file extensions

So, I'm working on a project that requires me to work on some
files with non-standard extensions. Namely, I have some text files
that have a .cm extension, and I have some code files which have no
extension at all. I am connecting to my file store via an FTP
"site" set up in Dreamweaver.
Under preferences->filetypes/editors, I set up ". .cm" for
those two cases, and had selected "Dreamweaver" as the primary
editor.
The files open just fine, and I'm able to edit and save them,
and when I do, the files get "PUT" back up to the FTP server as I
want. However, what I've noticed is that the first time I edit one
of those types of files, and save it, now, from then on in that
session of Dreamweaver, any time I de-focus the window and then
come back to it, the IDE initiates another PUT action of the files
in question, even if the files are unchanged.
However, if I go back into preferences, and remove the
"Dreamweaver" as the primary editor for those two extensions, and
leave that list blank, Dreamweaver still is able to open up the
files as I want, but this weirdness with FTP putting and the
window-focus goes away.
Anyone have any idea why?

I understand that you are looking to use the Photosmart 2710 with Windows 8.1 RT, but are unable to locate a driver. In my attempt to locate a driver I have come up empty handed. It appears that this printer is not supported for printing from Windows RT.

Since you don't know the basic of swing read the tutorial, it is for your own good because it is useless if we provide you with a code you don't even understand and how it works.
If you want a menu read the tutorial about using menus and for opening a file read using JFileChooser.
note: don't use the word urgent because it implies that your problem is more important than others.

Using editor for multiple cells in JTable

Here is my requirement -
On clicking any column of a particular row in a JTable, a pop-up window containing the cells of that row will be displayed as JTextFields for the user to enter the value and on pressing OK, the entered values should be set in the corresponding columns of that row.
I used a customised editor for this and the problem here is - getTableCellEditorComponent() method returns the cell value which got clicked/selected by the user. But in my case, all the cells have to be edited and returned to the corresponding columns in the table. The same is the problem with the method getCellEditorValue().
So, please let me know how do i resolve the above issue?

No, the problem is not with showing the popup. I can get the pop-up containing the fields corresponding to each column in the Jtable and in the pop-up window, I have to change the Text fields and press OK.
After pressing OK, the changed values in the pop-up will be rendered on the corresponding columns of the JTable.
So, while using the customised editor, when the pop-up is displayed, the method public Component getTableCellEditorComponent(JTable table, Object value, boolean isSelected, int row, int column) is basically used to return the selected component (cell).
I can do the above using
TableModel model = table.getModel();
model.getValueAt(table.getSelectedRow,column)
for all the columns but cannot return all these cells. Only one editorComponent can be returned.
Similarly, after getting the pop-up and changing the values and pressing OK, getCellEditorValue() will be called which returns the edited cell value, again all the cell values cannot be returned here.
So, is there a way by which all the cells of a particular row can be edited at a time? Hope the explanation is clear now.
