Looking for a high-contrast extension for Safari for Windows

First of all,what do we call them - extensions or plugins?
Is there an extension for Safari for Windows for high-contrast? I can't find one anywhere. Windows 7 is set to a HC theme. IE just follows suit. Chrome detected this, ad offered to install a theme.
Don't know why, but I still prefer Safari on my Win7 system. But really need HC. One that just inverts the colors would work, but one with several other options like the Chrome extension would be better.

Contact Point for a HIGHER level of development licensing for iPhone?

I am looking for a contact point, for which our legal team could contact for a development/licensing agreement that doesn't fit within either of those two programs.
The company I work for is not small potatos and is a major player in the market we are focusing on. We are still far from of till we have a complete product, but our legal team wants to start discussions now with Apple... so everything can get worked out by the time we are ready to go.

Actually... yes, that is 1 of the 2 reasons I posted here.
Reason 1: That those that have the administrative and moderation access in this forum, also has access to the account information of the members that have signed up here. Which pretty much every forum software package grants the rights to those of the administrative/moderator staff. Or at least at a minimum could reply to the post, with the information that I am seeking.
Reason 2: This is a discussion forum, and I thought... people come here to help one another. And as I listed before, we tried the LEGAL contact page on Apple.com, no luck there. We tried going via iPhone developer program information contacts... dead end. And our legal contacts did in fact try to reach out to contacts that we also did have on file... and those also ended up in a dead end.
So excuse me for using yet another avenue of communicating with Apple and people who may also have or are going through the same situation.
As for the sarcastic replies... I know exactly why I am getting them, and hence why I returned them. I am absolutely no stranger to the anonymous world of discussion forums. But if you want to continue thinking that everything is just like slicing a piece of apple pie, and serving...

Looking for a high gain portable digital antenna for HP Pavilion DV7

I bought a PAVILION DV7-3160 eh laptop this year. It has DVB-T MPEG-4 digital HDTV tuner originally made by Avermedia.
There is a problem that the digital signal is very poor at my living place. (It will be reduced until turning analog signal down finally. It will happen only 2 years later but I do not want to wait 2 years to watch digital TV channels.)
I have decided to plug a third party digital antenna to my laptop instead of the brand HP antenna.
I have founded in the Ebay a lot of digital (active and passive) arials but I don’t know what types are the best to my HP.
I’m helpless as the user manual tell nothing about technical details of TV tuner and it’s antennas.
I give preference to the high gain active antennas with built-in amplifier but these arials good for DVB-T USB stick and its are required 5V or more voltage. There are two types of arials, one is 50 ohm and the other is 75 ohm. (I have a conversion cable on the end a connector which is fit to my laptop (50 OMH) and on the other end a coax cable female connector(75 OMH) This two types is a little bit annoying.)
What are your opinions about this active type of antennas? Are these antennas compatible with my DV7?
Can provide DV7’s antenna connector the needed power to gain signal or the passive types are only suitable for my notebook? And what type would be better 50 or 75 OMH?
I would be glad if you answer my questions suggested me some useful portable antennas what are you using to your HP laptops.

Fix for UI Rendering Bugs (status bar, safari, othe windows "over zoomed")?

Anyone else seen these visual bugs in the UI:
* In vertical mode only the clock is displayed in the status bar. The contents of the status bar are "zoomed in" so much that the signal strength icon on the left and the battery indicator on the right are off the screen and out of view. Neither have ever been displayed (in vertical orientation) since I got the phone two days ago. The characters are over-sized and fuzzy, even clipped across the top of the screen.
* When a dialog box comes up on top of the current application (e.g. prompt to join a WiFi network), only a fraction of the dialog fits on the screen. The UI of the dialog is zoomed in too far, the text is large and fuzzy. The application UI below (seen through the transparency of the dialog) appears okay.
* After a settings reset, Safari works okay for a few minutes, but eventually gets zoomed in so far that the URL field at the top and the button bar across the bottom are no longer visible.
* Switching back and forth from vertical to horizontal (e.g. in music or Safari) sometimes shows the full status bar as expected (signal indicator, time, battery) and sometimes shows only the time (zoomed and fuzzy). Sometimes no status bar is displayed at all (black).
I've tried...
* resetting settings
* resetting settings & removing all data
* full factory default/software restore
None of this helps. Any ideas? Is this a software bug, or is there potentially some hardware defect causing the software to act so whacky?

How can I reinstall Safari for Lion after I mistakenly installed Safari for Mountain Lion?

via Macupdate I saw the new version 6.02 and did not thought about it. So I installed it only to view that this version would run only on a Mountain Lion system.
My 2007-MacBook is not capable to run 10.8.
So I tried to replace the new version with a Safari (6.0.1) from a TimeMachine Backup. I also tried to apply again the Mac OS X Combo Updater (10.7.5), but the installer says that it is not possibel to install it (again).
The thing is that Safrai still keeps crashing. Now I don't know what to do.
Any help is appreciated

and before installing, check HD/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ and the same folder (if it exists) in your Home/Library/ for anything named Flash... moving them to the trash.
you may also have a Flash Player icon in System Preferences - the Advanced tab has an Updates section, with a 'check now' button, which should show what you have & if it needs updating.

Yes, the question was not directed at you, even if I might have appreciated if you had made something up, just to make me happy.
The question was more directed at Apple, who have not been brilliant with the communication regarding Safari for Windows. Example: For several days they proudly presented Safari for Windows on the main page of their Japanese web site, even though one of the most glaring limitations was that the first betas would not work in Japanese - at all.
In contrast to many people in this forum, I do not mind that there are serious limitations and bugs in the beta. However, I am disappointed that Apple does not list the problems up front.

Safari for iOS7 on iPad Bookmarks

For some reason, my bookmarks on Safari for iPad are labeled "Favorites" with the star next to it, "History" with the clock next to it, then "Favorites" again with the folder next to it. I can't edit or delete the second "Favorites" folder and it is the one that adds my bookmarked pages to the bookmarks bar but you can see how it would be confusing having two folders with the same name, I keep putting the pages accidentally in the wrong one and don't realize it then can't find it later because I'm expecting it to be on the bookmarks bar or in the "Favorites" folder! Then I go through and see I have the same page saved 3 times in the wrong folder. It's frustrating!! Why can't I edit this second "Favorites" folder to change the name and make it less confusing???

Close Safari completely and reboot the iPad.
Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the Safari app and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Missing extensions/plug-ins for Safari.

So, I recently had a virus/malware scare and to take care of it (which I did) I got rid of all extensions/plug ins for Safari.
I've currently only got Adobe Flash Player, and nothing else which is really hindering me. I've looked all over but I can't find out what the plug-ins or extensions I need are.
The most recent issue was something about Audio Midi when I couldn't play an audio thing online while looking for guitar chords stuff.
After that gave it a shot by asking Apple, but the closest Apple store is too far to be worth driving to and I can't afford $50 or however much it is to get the info/links/whatever I need.

There's no need to install Safari extensions if you don't wan to, however, there might want to check out the extensions gallery. You may find something useful.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Safari Extensions ...
To avoid malware, open System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General
Make sure: Mac App Store and identified developers is selected.
If that area is grayed out, click the padlock icon to proceed.

Best lens/settings for outdoor shots (high contrast) with 6D?

I have a 6D I'm just getting started with. When I get a perfect shot (perfect lighting, color saturation, depth of field, etc), I LOVE it! The trouble is, I'm not getting enough of them. Not capturing what my eye sees with good repeatablilty. I have the following lenses for it: The 70-300mm zoom that came with it; a 24-105mm; a 17-40mm ultra wide angle; and a 50mm 1.4 fixed (dumb impulse purchase that I haven't found too useful). I am planning a trip to our tulip festival, and there will be loads of colors and likely high contrast as it will be a mostly sunny day with some clouds. PERFECT, right? Except I find that many times, particularly on my full auto settings, I am not getting the exposures I want! The photos often turn out kinda washed out, without the full saturation I want. And sadly, I'm just not able to compensate for that with the photo editing software I have. As I said, I'm just a beginner and don't want to lug around a manual with me to read while trying to get a good shot, so...anyone have any quick and dirty advice for which of my lenses will be the best to use for distance vs closeup of the flowers, and what settings to use with it? Full auto vs A, AV, or full manual? And if I use full manual, what priority do I want to get the best saturation? Urgh, I hope this isn't too crazy wide-open of a question to be able to get good helpful responses, it's hard to know what to ask. I just want to get some really good, color-rich, good depth and texture photos without a lot of thinking, lol. Thanks! PS-- I'm thinking of selling my 50mm and maybe one of my other ones to get a different one with better ranges. Any suggestions? I tend to do a lot of wildlife and landscapes, if that's any help, and find sometimes that the 300mm doesn't cut it.

FIrst of all, it takes time to learn how to use a complex camera system well, so don't beat up on yourself a lot or give up on the gear you already have too quickly. Keep taking lots of photos, analyzing them and how you might have made them better. All cameras and lenses have their ideal uses and limits, it's just a matter of learning them and there's no substitute for experience. Get the book "Understanding Exposure" by Bryan Peterson and read it, study it, learn it. That's the best single book every semi-serious to serious photographer who wants to improve their skills should read.... Might turn out to be the best $18 you ever spend on your photography.
The various exposure modes each have their uses. I see some people suggest using M (manual) only... but that's slower and limiting and there are times it will prevent you from "getting the shot". Av (aperture priority), Tv (shutter priority) and even P (program) all have their uses. I like to set my camera to M and forget it, but that's really only possible when lighting is very steady and consistent or I have time to carefully set up each shot.
Much of the time I have to use Av or Tv because of variable lighting conditions. This can be because of intermittent clouds changing the intensity of light itself, or because I'm trying to capture shots of a subject that's moving in and out of different lighting. I tend to use Program when I just need a quick shot in different light than I've been working, and don't have time to calculate my exposure and am not very concerned about depth of field (aperture) or freezing or blurring subject movement (shutter speed). All three of these auto exposure modes (as Canon calls them) require experience with and knowledge of how subject tonality effects the camera's reflective metering system and how to use Exposure Compensation to correct for it.
There's a "tool" built right into your camera that can help you learn about the exposure controls and how your choices with them effect your images.... On the top dial there's a "CA" setting, which is a great learning tool that will give you feedback on the LCD screen about your settings. This might take the place of carrying around the manual and consulting it before each shot. Try it!
Personally I don't use the "SCN" or "Green Box/A+" modes, both of which are super auto exposure... That dictate a lot more camera settings than just exposure. These also limit focus modes, file types, color rendition, and more. Av, Tv, P are plenty of automation for me.
A lot of your questions seem to be about lighting. If you ever watch a movie being shot or a pro making still portraits or macro shots, you are likely to see them using some sort of light modifiers.... reflectors to "bounce" more light onto a subject, fill flash to open up shadows, flags to block light, diffusers to reduce contrast and more. Monte Zucker was a master portrait photographer who specialized in available light (no flash) and made use of what he found on location and modifiers such as these... even invented a few of them. These are tools that you might use, or you can learn to look for similarly "ideal" lighting that's naturally occuring and will give you the effects you want. For example, if shooting close-ups and macro shots of flowers, insects and such, I often look for light shade to work in... or pray for a moderately overcast day (all too rare here in Calif.). Same can be done with portraits and many other types of photography.
To get great color in your images, you should get set up for and learn to do a Custom White Balance. This will insure optimal color in a wide variety of situations. Auto White Balance is very usable, especially in full sun. However, shade or indoors/artificial lighting comes in a wide spectrum of colors and can challenge AWB, or you might prefer it be rendered differently than the auto mode will do. There are a bunch of "preset" White Balance you might use - flash, tungsten, shade, etc. - but setting a Custom WB can very often give more accurate results. There are WB targets (usually white or neutral gray) that can be used to quickly set up a Custom WB simply by taking a test shot and telling the camera "this is what you should use" to set WB. There are even "warm cards", which are lightly tinted to cause slight bias toward a little warmer looking image, or in some cases cooler.
Shooting digitally, a lot of what you want to do can be, or might would even be better accomplished in post-processing..., i.e. at your computer at home. Today with digital photography we all are essentially our own "photo labs", too. More to learn, I'm afraid. There are various image editing and optimization softwares, as well as very helpful things like graphics quality computer monitors and calibration devices. It's hard to take your images to their "best" without some additional "development" at your computer. Shoot RAW for the maximum ability to make adjusments to your images in post-processing. This includes the ability to change White Balance quite freely. But a RAW file is sort of like a negative from the days of film... taking the shot is just the first step, the post-processing is necessary and an important part of creating the final image. (Note: Shooting RAW + JPEG is a good learning tool.... once you can make finished images from your RAW files that are better than JPEGs it's producing itself, you can stop shooting JPEGs at all.)
Sorry, but you aren't going to be able to do this "without a lot of thinking"
However, over time you will find that working with your camera and lenses... as well as everything else that's part of the process... becomes easier and eventually a lot of it will be second-nature. You'll need to do a lot of practice and study at first... and may feel overwhelmed at times. But gradually and eventually you'll realize that you know exactly what to do to get the images you want in many different situations. Don't be too quick to change or add more gear, because that just means starting some of the learning process over again.
With respect to wildlife photography, yes a 300mm lens on a 6D may not be enough reach a lot of the time. You have several possible solutions: get a longer focal length lens (Canon 400/5.6L is reasonably priced and quite good, but lacks IS so plan on using a tripod or at least a monopod... Canon 500/4L IS is fantastic, but pretty expensive and quite large... think "tripod only").... Or, get a crop sensor camera (70D for example) to complement your full frame camera. The 300mm will "act like" a longer focal length, when used on a crop sensor camera.
Be warned, though, small wildlife, birds and such, there is no such thing as a "long enough" telephoto. If you have 300mm, you'll want 400mm.... But once you get that 400mm, you'll want a 500mm, etc., etc. Eventually the lenses get very pricey and large, hard to hold steady and even shooting through a lot of atmosphere will reduce image quality. So other solutions you'll probably want to learn inlude stalking skills, use of blinds, calls, decoys, baits to bring subjects closer.
A lot of patience is needed too. There are times the subject is just too far away and all you can do is sit back and enjoy the show, hoping they'll come closer. Sometimes I've spent weeks or even months acclimating animals to allow me to approach close enough to get the shots I want (Canon EF 135/2L lens on Canon 7D)...
Other times I've found locations where the critters are already relatively accustomed to people and will let me get close (EF 300/4 IS USM lens on 7D)...
Hunger sometimes outweighs shyness and fear, too (EF 300/4L IS USM on 7D)...
While some wildlife could care less about you and may even give you repeated opportunities to get a good shot of them (EF 300/4L IS USM lens on 5D MkII)...

Looking for a high-performance and reliable NAS

I have been searching for a high-performance and reliable SOHO NAS storage but I have seen very mixed and contradicting reviews for the products I have looked at so far. From QNAP to Synology to etc.
However I've not found a good review for Promise SOHO NAS devices such NSx700 and NSx600.
Is anybody here using them? If so how would you rate these devices?

Looking for a lightbox style extension for Quicktime Videos

Hi guys,
I am looking for a lightbox style extension for Quicktime Videos. I can't find anything on the net.
Can anyone recomend something easy? Bare in mind I am not good with scripting.more of a designer.

Sorry about all this, but it seems that playing videos in a lightbox window is the ultimate goal.
I have tried the You tube video in my FF and it works O/k except that it does not auto-start. You are correct about not working in IE, (although the documentation says it does!).
I have found another one that works in IE but the QuickTime part does not seem to work in FF, you can check this out yourself as it may be my settings.

(The note on website says that the theme they are using has an effect on compatibility, so this may also cause the problem in FF.)

If there is nothing on the disk that is important, by all means erase it and partition it anew with sufficient space for your Windows app. But be warned that you will lose everything on the disk. Investing in iPartition will let you change things again in the future if you need to, without losing any data.
