Looking for a International Calling Plan + Data?

Hello,
Let me first start by saying I am deploying to South Korea (Osan AFB) .
I am looking for a plan with unlimited data usage and at least 450 minutes. I was reading about your global phones and south Korea is CDMA so that is good. It looks like I would have to get a new Droid but that's alright.
I have a few questions though:
1.  How does the data work for that plan? I don't quite understand how it works.
2.  It says its $1.99 per minute, do you really charge by the minute? $1.99 is steep for a minute,
If I used 200 minutes at that rate my bill would cost $398 plus the taxes and other expenses.
3. What can the party  I am calling expect? Would it have to be a world phone to?
I am just really trying to figure out how much this would cost.
Thanks,
Freddy

I would strongly reccomend AGAINST trying to use your Verizon service overseas.  As you've discovered, the per minute rates are quite high, and your unlimited data plan will not work there, you would need to pay roaming rates for data as well, and they are no more palatable than the voice rates for international service.
Once you get to South Korea, you should research local carriers and get service from one that is affordable and has the services you need, probably a prepaid carrier.
To your last question, Verizon customers are not charged international rates for INCOMING international calls, so you could call back to the States from your local cellphone, landline, or VoIP provider, and they would be charged the same as if they were getting a call from another phone in the US.

    If both iPhone users are on iMessage, texting will be free, though there may be data charges if you do not have Wi-Fi. You can use FaceTime Audio in iOS 7 and later to call people but regular phone calls still count against your phone plan.

  • How the transactional replication work for simple recovery database (looking for some internal concept)

    How the transactional replication work for simple recovery database (looking for some internal concept)
    Rahul

    There seems to be a new myth going around recently. I’ve had at least three people tell me, in the last month, that SQL’s transactional replication requires the database to be in full recovery.
    This is complete fabrication. Replication (SQL native replication, that is) can work with the databases in any of the recovery models.
    Transactional replication does involve the transaction log, as that’s where it picks up changes from. The log reader scans over the transaction log looking for log records marked for replication, copies those to the distribution database and then marks them
    as replicated. When the checkpoint (for simple recovery) or log backup (for full or bulk logged) occur, the log will only be truncated up to the oldest inactive, replicated transaction.
    Because transactional replication has its own way of ensuring log records aren’t discarded before been picked up by the log reader, there’s no requirement for a specific recovery model.

  • Roaming charges for incoming international calls?

    That's pretty much my question. I read somewhere on here that I would NOT be charged for long distance or roaming if my IPhone 5 receives incoming calls from Germany. Before I tell my family that they can call me, I want to be absolutely sure of that.
    Thanks for your help!

    Just like a landline, an incoming international call will not have any add'l charges. But it will use minutes from your allotment, unless it is after 9pm (Or 7pm if you have an Alltel plan)
    UPDATE: From VZW Website:
    If someone calls me internationally from outside the U.S. will I be charged extra?
    No, you won't be charged long distance or roaming fees if you're in the U.S and someone calls you from outside the U.S.

  • Looking for SAP solution to extract data from the production system

    Hello,
    we are looking for the SAP standard tool to extract data from the production system and copy it to the development system. It should be as functional as some kind of partial client copy. The data, which we need to replicate is master and transactional data from FI, CO, AA MM and nice to have FS-RI modules. There is a product offered by the IntelliCorp called "Data Management" but we would like to know if SAP offers its own product.
    Kind regards,

  • International calling plans

    Is there a inexpensive calling plan that will work for me and a friend of mine?
    I have a friend that will be working in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. I live in Jacksonville,Florida.

    You can make calls from the U.S to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. It wil be $1.99 from a Landline and Mobile Phone. You can also add International Dialing for $3.99 and the rates will be $1.19 for Landline and Mobile Phone. There is not a plan that will work for calls to be made from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba to the U.S. You can click on the link below to access the rates.

    I only need the current date that will change every day.
    Do you know where I can get this script, I goggled and got

    Also is it possible to have your page validate when you use

    JavaScript generates the date by using the clock on the
    computer of each
    visitor to your site. If a visitor's clock has the wrong
    date, your site
    will also display the wrong date.

    I don't know what you mean by "authentic". Date generation in
    JavaScript
    is one of the most basic features of the language, so if it
    works, it's
    "authentic".
    > Also is it possible to have your page validate when you

    Yes, but you shouldn't embed JavaScript in XHTML.

    I am looking for an App simular to one I had on my Blackberry. When someone called in that was in my address book with a picture, the picture was the size of most of the screen. Does this exist for iPhone?

    It's built-in to your phone.
    To assign a photo to a contact:
    Tap Contacts and choose a contact.
    Tap Edit and tap Add Photo, or tap the existing photo.
    Tap Take Photo to use the camera. Or tap Choose Existing Photo and choose a photo.
    Drag and scale the photo as desired.
    Tap Set Photo.
    If you assign a photo using the phone, it will display full screen. If you assign a photo using your computer's address book, it will display as a thumbnail.

  • Looking for best practice on showing data inside a TableView

    I have an app, that can retrieve one ore more than 300,000 rows as the result of a query and i am displaying them into a TableView.. i am using a mechanism to bring the data "on parts", when i do the query an object with the ids of the rows is set into memory and a "queryResultKey" is passed in order to start asking for the complete set of data.
    The controlers send the queryResultKey telling the DAO that it has already N resultas, so the DAO will return X registers (from N+1 to N+J) or less if the total number of registers is reached. At this point the registers are added to the items of the table view using a addAll to the list binded to the table itemsProperty.
    it works fine for the first thounsands registers but suddenly a Null Pointer Exception is raised:

                    tblResultados.getSelectionModel().select(0);
            status.getProgreso().progressProperty().bind(task.progressProperty());
            new Thread((Runnable) task).start();So, what can be another strategy to simulate (or have) that all the register values are in memory and "grab just the needed ones" to display them in the TableView???
    Any idea will be helpfull.

    The first thing I would do here is to check that
    fac.getTesisParaLista(pag.getId(), listaTesis.size())cannot return null under any circumstances. If this is returning null, then that is the source of your exception. In this case you should add the appropriate guard to your code:
    if (tesisParaincrustar != null) {
                        try {
                            listaTesis.addAll(tesisParaincrustar);
                        } catch (Exception exc) {
                            Logger.getLogger(TablaResultadosController.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, exc);
                        tesisActuales.addAll(tesisParaincrustar);
    }For the threading issue, you can schedule anything that changes the UI to run on the FX Application Thread using Platform.runLater(...). Note that any data you pass into that should not be modified elsewhere. So you can do something like:
    Platform.runLater(new Runnable() {
      @Override
      public void run() {
                        try {
                            listaTesis.addAll(tesisParaincrustar);
                        } catch (Exception exc) {
                            Logger.getLogger(TablaResultadosController.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, exc);
                        tesisActuales.addAll(tesisParaincrustar);
    });You'll need to add the 'final' keyword to the declaration of tesisParaincrustar to get this to compile.
    This is fine, assuming that the call to fac.getTesisParaLista(...) returns a new list instance each time (i.e. it doesn't modify an existing list).
    You will be left with one remaining problem: the condition in your while(...) loop references listaTesis.size(). Since this list is now being updated on a thread different to the thread managing the while(...) loop. This can (and probably will) cause the loop to terminate at the wrong time. Can you adjust the while(...) condition so it doesn't refer to this list (for example, calculate ahead of time how many things need to be read, pass that number to your Task implementation, and use that in the while(...) condition.)
    There are effectively two rules for multithreading in JavaFX:
    1. Don't access the UI outside of the FX Application Thread. This includes data structures which are bound to the UI. I'm assuming at some point you've called tableView.setItems(listaTesis), so listaTesis should be considered part of the UI.
    2. Don't perform long-running tasks on the FX Application Thread.
    In attempting to conform to rule 2, you've violated rule 1.
    Doing incremental updates to a displayed list in a background thread is one of the trickiest uses of Task. Read through the API documentation for Task ( http://docs.oracle.com/javafx/2/api/javafx/concurrent/Task.html ): the "PartialResultsTask" example under "A Task which returns partial results" is an example of what you're trying to do.

  • Charges for receiving international calls

    Can you tell me if I receive a call from Germany on my cell phone, will I get charged anything other than minutes? Is ther a per minute charge for receiving a call?  If so, how much?  If not, awesome!
     I just have a normal Nationwide (US) plan on my phone.

    If you receive the call within the Verizon network in the US, then it is just charged as minutes. If it is on the weekend or after 9PM and before 7AM, then it will not count against your monthly allowance.
    Additionally, if it is from another Verizon cellular phone, the minutes should not count against your monthly allowance.
