Looking for a plugin to simulate TV scan lines

The subject title pretty much says it all. Does anyone know of a free or reasonably priced plugin that does scan lines?
Thanks in advance.

Seems that Loyed256 deserves some points here...

  • Looking for EQ plugin suggestions.

    Hi,
    been running 10.6.8 and now getting ready to move on up to M Lion or Mavericks. In 10.6.8 I have been using the very excellent
    Uniquelizer plugin (which doesn't work in 10.7, or above - as an Audio unit...) and am looking for something very like it
    - unlimited number of EQ bands, excellent filters, sounds great and is not "vintage" style or sounding.
    Definitely don't want Waves and I already have some UAD plugs (typically made to be Vintage or emulate a particular
    hardware product). Any ideas, please.
    Thanks.

    MAutodynamic (http://www.meldaproduction.com/plugins/product.php?id=MAutoDynamicEq) and SplineEQ (http://photosounder.com/splineeq/) are worthwhile to look at IMO......
    Cheers!

  • Looking for Bass plugin like Musiclabs 'Real-Strat'

    Basically I'm looking for a very realistic Bass guitar AU that works similarly to Realstrat. It needs to cater for natural slides and ideally have performance repetitions. I've tried using the EXS patches to no success and I can't find anything on the market. There's loads of these things cropping up now (EZ Drummer etc) but I don't see a bass version...
    Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

    Yes - wait for Spectrasonics' Trillian which should be here in a month or two.
    Or, Scarbee do some excellent bass libraries for Kontakt (if you have that) - Black Bass etc which have performance articulations and intelligent on-the-fly automatic articulation switching.

  • Looking for best plugins for Baritone Saxophone

    Hi all!
    I am doing some experimenting, and I had a real baritone saxophone recorded with a good microphone (8 to 12 inches from the sax). Now I cant find the right EQ-Reverb-etc. plugins that would make it right and natural. I can do that with other sax, or other brass, but the baritone seems tricky. I added some distortion and it helped. What is missing? when I get the highs right, the bottom is not enough... "bottom". And vice-versa. Is there any suggestion?
    Thanks,
    Daniel

    honestly there are so many factors that go into applying the right effect that you aren't likely to find an answer here...
    Primarily, without hearing what the audio you recorded actually sounded like.
    It's a bit like saying you are feeling sick, but all the over the counter medications aren't working like they do for all the other times you are sick. You need someone to have someone listen to your track and make a recommendation based on that.

  • Adobe Illustrator CC: looking for cartography plugins like geolocator markers

    The other day I discovered this awesome third party After Effects plugin called Locations.
    It allows you to add geolocated markers to maps in After Effects.
    Does anyone know if such a cartography plugin exists for Illustrator CC? I already googled and haven't found anything yet.
    But it would be far better to be able to accurately position cities on a vector map in Illustrator prior to importing into After Effects.
    Thanks in advance for any help.

    I know of no plugins for this.
    The fastest way we found was to use Libraries.
    1. Make one set of trim marks and save it in the library.
    2. On a new document, make a box the trim size of your doc.
    3. Snap guides to the 4 edges of the box.
    4. Drag out the crop marks (double, triple, with registration marks, or whatever you created in your original Library item).
    5. Snap each of four mark sets to the guide corners.
    Voila.

  • I'm looking for a flatbed scanner than can scan documents that are 11" x 17"

    As the title states, I need to scan some documents that are 11" x 17". These documents are inked comic pages on vellum, which is sort of a thick, semi-translucent kind of paper. I think I'll need to lay these pages flat to scan them, instead of running them through a sheetfed scanner.
    Every Office Depot or Staples I visit has multi-function devices from HP and Epson that can scan this large. However, I've always had issues with devices from these companies, be it driver problems or hardware problems. I've also had a Mustek scanner in the past and it rapidly stopped working. I'm very happy with Canon products and would like to stay with this brand. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear Canon makes a flatbed scanner this large, and it's hard to tell if any of their multifunctions can do it.
    The question is: does Canon offer a product now, or have they offered one in the past, that can scan this large of a document? If not, who can I talk to about product ideas? My alternative would be scanning the pages one half at a time and then trying to join them in Photoshop, but who has that kind of time?
    Thanks for any help you can give.

    Commercial Printing requires images to be 300 dpi (pixels per inch).
    You will have to do the maths as we don't know how big the images are, whether they fill each size or only part of them.
    If they bleed (go off the edge of the paper) they will need an extra 3/8" (.375") on each edge.
    So for an image to fill the largest size and bleed you need an image 7425 x 11025 pixels. I hope you have a good camera. You can aways reduce the dimensions down from that.

  • Looking for a way to test if the lines in a path intersect any objects?

    What i'd like to do is select an open ended path, and generate an array of all the objects that path intersects.  Here's an image to illustrate:
    The green line would be selected.  The script would run and populate an array with pointers to each yellow square the line intersects.  Does anyone have any ideas on how this can be done in javascript?  Or if it is possible at all?  Help is appreacited, thanks!

    Sure it's possible. If all of your objects-to-cross are rectangles (as in your image), it's even quite trivial.
    (15 minutes later) Oh well, perhaps not "trivial" -- I'd have to check at home whether or not I got a full-fledged rectangle intersection code. This doesn't work -- the "crossObject" function needs a bit more work.
    At least it'll give you something to look at.
    if (app.selection.length != 1)
    alert ("Wot no single path selected?");
    else
    if (!(app.selection[0] instanceof PathItem))
      alert ("Wot no path?");
    else
      allObjects = [];
      for (i=0; i<app.activeDocument.pageItems.length; i++)
       if (!app.activeDocument.pageItems[i].selected)
        allObjects.push (app.activeDocument.pageItems[i]);
      thePath = [];
      for (i=0; i<app.selection[0].pathPoints.length; i++)
       thePath.push ([ app.selection[0].pathPoints[i].anchor[0],app.selection[0].pathPoints[i].anchor[1] ] );
      app.selection[0].selected = false;
      for (i=0; i<thePath.length-1; i++)
       for (j=0; j<allObjects.length; j++)
       // only check if necessary
        if (allObjects[j].selected == true)
         continue;
        if (crossObject (thePath[i], thePath[i+1], allObjects[j]))
         allObjects[j].selected = true;
    // .. to do .. (dis doesn't work)
    // (check Liang-Barsky or Cohen-Sutherland viewport clipping)
    function crossObject (a, b, obj)
    var xl = obj.visibleBounds[1];
    var xr = obj.visibleBounds[3];
    var yt = obj.visibleBounds[0];
    var yb = obj.visibleBounds[2];
    var x1 = a[0],y1 = a[1];
    var x2 = b[0],y2 = b[1];
    // if point is inside object, it (obviously) hits
    if (x1 > xl && x1 < xr && y1 > yt && y1 < yb)
      return true;
    if (x2 > xl && x2 < xr && y2 > yt && y2 < yb)
