Looking for a Power Supply

Hi!
I am looking for a power supply for my sound blaster speakers.
The model is SBS 380. The power supply works on a 4.0 volt.
Anyone who would have a spare one to sell or to inform me where
to buy one would be most appreciated. ( I'm in Canada )
I have be been to several stores but no ones carries 4 volts power supply.
The one I have is no lomger functional and the sound is excellent from those speakers.
BTW, Craetive no longer support them and have none in stock.
Thanks,
Gerry

Jason, I think he would have some trouble getting them shipped to Australia from one of those stores. Beside that it would be less from newegg, look at the additional 20% off promo and free shipping. For me it's 3 days from order to delivery from ZZf and newegg.
Yes, one of the Corsairs but not HX but as mentioned TX or VX, also PC P&C 610. Ignore watts, go by +12V amps and as FP mentioned consider future need for more power when choosing. Nowdays the VX450W (+12V~33A) would be considered minimum to get and also would be considered weak for many current systems.

  • Need a piece for my power supply cable

So my mag safe power supply for my Macbook Pro has the two little "hooks" that pop out and allow you to wrap the cable around them for travel. One of the hooks broke and during the process of trying to get it fixed through Apple, by replacing the hook, I was advised you have to replace the whole thing.
I was wondering if anyone knew any place to get these little guys or had an extra one lying around that they would be willing to sell via a Paypal payment.
    Thanks!

Alternative suggestion I gave to one of my clients: buy another power adapter, then use the "broken" one permanently at your desk. So rather than rushing out of the house, forgetting to pack your charger, instead leave one of the chargers in your bag. When you get home, you plug in to the "permanent" desk charger. The one on the desk would never be coiled up, or coiled up in a different way with wire ties or something. And if the charger is under your desk, well, out-of-sight, out-of-mind.
I've done this for years, ever since that first time I forgot my charger and blew my school assignment because no one on campus had a compatible charger I could borrow. While it is an additional expense, it's also a comfort that when I break the charger, I have an immediate spare, or have a second charger for troubleshooting.

  • Solution for monitor power supply and raid 5 on x4150 server

    Hi everybody,
    a simple question :
my compagny have some server SunFire x4150 in some Datacenter, and there is a thing that we cannot really monitored remotly : the status of the 2 power supply and the status of the raid 5 of the server.
(i want to know if a power is down or if a disk is "dead")
We are using Nagios, cacti and munin actually, so can we use these interfaces for that?
if the answer is no, a script can be developed , if only i knew the command that can be used to take informations from the state of the raid5, i'll comunicate later the type of the raid card.
what are the best solutions availables for monitor those things?
    thanks by advance

We have some x4150s but they're running Linux. There are separate solutions for each of the 2 problems.
    1. For the power supplies, you can use the ELOM/ILOM system management interface (also used for monitoring the fans and temperature). If you've got it configured and connected to the network, you can set it up to email you about any events. We have the older ELOM firmware running, which includes the ability to add some actions to take in response to specific events. The new and supposedly better ILOM firmware doesn't seem to include this. Since this is IPMI compatible you can probably also hook into this using ipmitool or SNMP tools.
    2. For the RAID card, assuming it's the standard Adaptec (rebranded as StorageTek) controller, you can install and use StorMan software (it's on the tools & drivers CD if not pre-installed). Once again you can configure email notification from the StorMan GUI, but this time it relies on OS host services to do the mail forwarding via the host NIC.
I'm not familiar with the details of your network system admin tools, but hopefully these tips will provide pointers on what hooks are available for these tools to tie into. Presumably there's also Sun N1 management software which can probably do this in a more built-in way, but it sounds like you've already got more than enough management tools.

  • Cinema HD Display: specs for DC power supply

I recently bought the 23-inch Apple Cinema HD Display for the navigation station on our yacht ADAGIO. This lovely display replaced our previous 22" Cinema Display --> the purpose being to reduce the odds of a failure during our next Pacific Ocean crossing.
My unusual question: *what are the voltages supplied to the HD Display by the white power brick*?
I need to replace the brick with 24VDC DC-DC converter, because the new HD Display power brick doesn't like being supplied with 240VAC/50Hz from our modified sine wave inverter. When inverter powered, the display randomly reboots itself --> so you see a black screen, loss of USB to keyboard/mouse for about 3 seconds. I have proven that this fault is completely eliminated by powering the brick via either shore power or our 10kW generator (both are sine wave of course).
The inverter power is the only practical option when we are at sea - we only run the generator for 1 to 2 hours out of 24.
Any ideas how we can find out what the brick supplies? The info is definitely not in the tech specs nor user manual.

Aha - remoting sensing - thanks for that enlightenment.
First, to your point about supplying the brick by a UPS or line conditioner. Yes that is an option. The issues with shaping the power into the brick are:
    1. Leaves ACD operation dependent upon 240VAC from some source. So if the inverter goes down, we either run genset or switch to MacBook Pro.
    2. Ship's power is already 24VDC, which unregulated varies 26.5 to 28.8. Will that work with adding regulation? The spec on our older Cinema Display was 24.5 to 28 VDC -- I installed a 24V DC-DC converter just to ensure regulation to less than 28V.
    3. Not relevant, but it is irritating to buy/install a UPS when we already have a super UPS supplying the ACD I.e., 540 amp-hour gel battery bank -> 3500 W inverter -> ACD.
Have you any recommendations on a 240V conditioner or UPS?

  • Looking for replacement power switch ribbon - HP DV7 3060us

Took this laptop apart to replacement the dc power jack.  Put everything back.  No power.  Took off the power strip and noticed a ribbon was missing.  Does anyone know were i can find a replacement ribbon or who i can contact for such a request?

Perhaps you will find the part and part number in the Maintenance and Service Guide manual for your notebook.
In addition to Cheryl's suggestion, you can also try HP Partsurfer for your part.
If you don't find the part listed in either place, I doubt it is a part that is sold.
    Good luck!

  • Looking for a power usage app..

Seems like I have done everything I know of or could find in fourms to reduce the apps that are using up power on my iPhone 3GS.
Does anyone know of an APP that will tell me what APPS or services are using up power?
    Thanks...
    ~Charlie

    Hi Charlie,
Many misunderstand how multitasking actually works on iOS. Although you will see apps on your Multitasking tray (when you double press the home button), those are not actually running as they are in a "suspended/saved" state. Be advised that once an app is in this state, it uses virtually no battery power.
Here's an [extremely good rundown by another user of how Mutlitasking works|http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=12719950#12719950].
Perhaps you have worn down the battery in your phone. Battery capacity eventually degrades, but you can slow or reduce the process by following [some basic care steps|http://www.apple.com/batteries/iphone.html].
To answer your question directly, there is no such app that will provide you with information on the power usage of another app as it would really all be zero. There are some services, such as location services, that can reduce your battery if turned on and being actively used though.

  • Power supply upgrade HP Pavilion p7-1423w

Hello forum! I have an HP Pavilion p7-1423w.  Looking for a power supply upgrade that can accomodate more than one hard drive and/or SSD and more than one DVD/BD player. Don't want to add any adapters. (Last inline adapter I got from HP literally caught FIRE and destroyed my previous PC!)
Anyone know any compatible power supplies I can use that come with plugs I'm seeking?
Also, if I do add an SSD, is there anyway of having it run the operating system? (Make it the primary drive?)
    Thanks if anyone can help.

    Hey,
I'm building a new computer. The specs are as follows:
CASE: Aero Cool Jetmaster Mid Tower ATX
    MOTHERBOARD: Gigabyte GA-K8NF-9 NVIDIA nForce4 4X (Socket 939)
    CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3000 (Socket 939)

    OPTICAL DRIVE 3: CD-RW

I will be looking to do a lot of high end games on this machine and I am looking for a power supply to suit my needs. So far I am looking at a COOLMAX 450W SWITCHING POWER SUPPLY (model CT-450) vs. the Enermax Whisper 431W Power Supply (model EG465P-VE)
The thing is that your Enermax power supply is going to cost me a bit more than the Coolmax power supply. However, I am willing to pay the extra cast IF its needed, but ONLY if its needed. So what do you guys think. Can anyone here give me an opinion as to which power supply is better suited for my needs
Also, if you think that none of these power supplies are good for me and I should go in a whole new directions completely... let me know what power supply you think I should go with instead, thnx

I am looking for a power supply that will fin into my case because I have just ordered a new graphics card(nvidia gtx 750 ti windforce) which need an extra 400 watts of power. I would love it if anyone could recommend any power supply's for my issue

Hi, If your PC is not using an external power cube (brick) then you have many choices. The Corsair CX600 would be an excellent choice for a power supply. Another good choice would be the Corsair CS650m.

  • Adding USB card that needs power supply H520S

Just bought a 4 port USB 3.0 card for my H520S. I plugged it in and nothing. Then I read on the card manufacturer's website that I need to the connect the card to the PSU in order for it to work (there's an internal USB port on the card).
So I opened the PC and looked for an additional power source to connect the card to...but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be looking for.
Is this doable on this model?
If so, what cables do I need and where do I connect the cable to?
    Thanks in advance

    hi,
This Device Will need a 4 pin peripheral  Power Cable (Molex)
Like the one to the left on this photo
Since the unit is pre configured by Lenovo all Connectors on the PSU may just be enough for all what's preinstalled inside the unit.
Still Check the power Supply of your unit check inside if there is one available This cable is directly from the power supply, so once you open the computer case Look for the power  supply and check the cables coming out from it and look for this connector here is a closer look
    http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/31/Molex_female_connector.jpg
If you cannot find out you might need to Upgrade the Power Supply.
