Looking for a pricing plugin

we have a plugin for quark that we use for our catalog that automatically changes the price as we make new catalogs. now we are making an online catalog, i am using flash for parts of it in places that are to be interactive. but i dont want to go through and change all of them as the prices change. is there a plugin like the one for quark but for flash? if not, i'm just going to leave the prices out and let the customer go to the webpage to get the price.

I don't know what the quark plugin does, I'm guessing that it is reading from an external file that contains the price information. An ordinary method of dealing with updatable information in Flash is to use an external file, usually in .xml format. You can update the xml file or have your database do it for you, and then every time a user hits your site, the data is read from the .xml file. Each user will get the latest prices.

  • Looking for good orchestra plugins

    Hi,
I am looking for good classical orchestra plugins (violins cellos etc...)
    What are your suggestions ?
    thanks

As soon as iS sees this, he'll chime in with his
    faves...;)
    My ears were burning.
I use bits and pieces from many different libraries. For me, there's no one library that has all the right textures, articulations, etc. for any one instrument.
I recently purchased the Kirk Hunter EXS24 library. Most of the brass, strings, and woodwinds are superb. The caveat here is that almost all samples were recorded in some kind of hall or soundstage, so as with other libraries that were sampled with ambience, it can sometimes be problematic if you're going after a dryer sound. Depending on the sound, careful tweaking of the release time can minimize that effect.
So yes, I endorse Kirk Hunter. Bang-for-buck quotient is great ($325).
GPO -- I use their woodwinds and harp, the occasional solo string sound, percussion (the xylophone and celeste are wonderful). But the strings are pathetic and the brass poor. Still, for $250 it's an astounding deal, and worth it for the woodwinds/harp alone. It's paid for itself 50x over.
A favorite for strings are Sonic Implants. My copy went through a Gigasampler -->EXS conversion and I love them to death.
EWQLSO are not a fave. I've heard good things about Gold though.
Vienna... I've never been impressed with any of their demos. Well crafted but flat and lifeless sounding. I think the fault is with the demos and not the actual samples. Anyway, a friend recently realized a part for me using some of their specialty brass sounds and it was exactly what the doctor ordered! One day I'll invest in VSL and add it to the arsenal.

I am looking for the photoshop 5.5 plugin to allow me to open my .nef camera files... can anyone help?

Other than upgrading PS, you might want to look into Nikon Capture. I have an older version, so do not know if it's still offered, and if it will handle your version of NEF's, as they change, hence the ARC upgrades for newer Nikon (and others) cameras.
    Good luck,

  • Mail - Looking for a spotlight plugin that is not installed...

I'm migrating a large mail database from another mail server to Lion Server Mail and it is going fine, but I am seeing lots of errors like this:
Cannot find function pointer OfficeImporterPluginFactory for factory BFA4E323-1889-11D9-82C8-000A959816BE in CFBundle/CFPlugIn 0x104722640 </Library/Spotlight/Microsoft Office.mdimporter> (bundle, not loaded)
    and
indexer process 13609:           /Library/Spotlight/Microsoft Office.mdimporter/Contents/MacOS/Microsoft Office: no matching architecture in universal wrapper
The weird thing about this is that the Lion Server is a clean install, and has never had MS Office anywhere near it.  Nor does it have a /Library/Spotlight directory.  So I'm not sure why Mail / Spotlight are looking in /Library/Spotlight for a MSO plugin.
I'm guessing that the information must be coming from the IMAP data being processed by the mail server - but seems a bit odd.
Anyone know what is going on?  What / Whether I should do anything to mitigate?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Re QTCFR.DLL: Are you sure it isn't QTCF.DLL? That's a QuickTime component.  Try downloading and reinstalling QuickTime from Apple.com.
Re converting to PSE 8: You will have a difficult time of doing that without first having a consistent, connected PSE 6 catalog.  It may be possible, but I recommend sorting out your current situation first.
Generally the easiest way is to install PSE 8 on the old computer, convert your catalogs there, and only then move the catalogs to the new computer, following the methods in this FAQ:
    http://www.johnrellis.com/psedbtool/photoshop-elements-faq.htm#_Move_your_photos_1
This way, you don't need to solve the problem of the missing-disk message.

  • Looking for "Picture Frame" Plugin for CS5 64-bit

Hello!  I went to slap a plain ol' picture frame on a photo image in CS5.  The kind of frame that looks like those you have hanging on your walls.  Not acid etched edges or canvas texture overlays, etc.  I found that nothing I had would do what i wanted.  I am looking for something like the old Extensis Photoframe or Alien Skin SPLAT!  The onOne PhotoFrame 4.5 Free version doesn't have what the old Extenses version had.  Has anyone looked inside onOne PhotoFrame 4.5 Standard?  I'd like to konw before I cough up $150 for the plugin.
Are there other plugins that will put an ordinary looking mitered picture frame on an image in CS5 64-bit?
    Thanks, - Dave

Hello John!  Thanks- I didn't know those actions were there.  I'm working with big files though and the frames come out kind of skinny.  I'm sure I could edit that actions but I'm looking more for a slap-it-on-and-forget-it solution.  The link to Exchasnge sure does have some amazing stuff.  I'm glad to know of the resource.  The search results were pretty dated though, so I'm not sure which will work with Win64 + PS64 bit.
I guess a SPLAT! or Extenses PhotoFrame replacement doesn't come to mind out there?  I found sometning that is along the lines of what I'm looking for:
    http://www.humansoftware.com/pages1200/ClassicFrame/gallery_v1/clasfram9.html
These are a bit more fancy than I had in mind and are take it or leave it, where Splat! and the old PhotoFrame were tweakable.
I'll keep on looking.  Anyone else jump in if a light bulb goes off.

  • Looking for Bad film plugin

Final Cut Pro has two nice video filters called Bad TV and Bad film, which enable you to give those effects to your movies.
Final Cut Express, while having Bad TV, does not have the Bad film.
Can someone tell me where I can go to download the Bad film filter as a plugin? Thanks.

Maybe this one works for you...?

  • Looking for "bad tv" plugin for FCP6

I was wondering if anyone knew of any free or commercial "bad tv" plugin for FCP and, possibly, Motion.
    Thank you!

Strange enough I cannot find it. I wonder if it's an FCP filter or a commercial filter.
AFAIK, there's no way NOT to install the whole effects packages but I don't where they go and you can't search package contents so it might be impossible to find.
At the bottom of your effects list there is an effect availability option.

  • Looking for good Brass plugins...

Not so much the orchestral sound, but more of a jazz/r&b brass section. Any recommendations? Many thanks!

I am often called upon to add pop or jazz sampled horns to projects, so this is a subject I feel fairly confident discussing.
This is definitely one area of sampled sounds that is just beginning to open up. Sure, there have been libraries in the past, but RAM and memory limitations prevented them from being anything serious enough to compete detail-wise with todays orchestral libraries.
One older library that can be gotten relatively cheap now is Quantum Leap Brass. There are basic articulations available, but it's not anything overly detailed. But the sonic qualities of this library are truly stunning (IMO). there's enough room sound in the samples for the instruments to sound very "live". Not overlay ambient, just "excited". Also, no loops were used, so each sample is played until the player ran out of breath. So the ever changing sound in a held note adds significantly to the realism.
Garittan's Big Band and Jazz. On the surface, this might appear to be not much for the serious programmer. But the real trick to this library is to utilize all the MIDI controller information that lies under the hood. Once you start adding key clicks, and breath sounds, and pitch and tonal variations, this library really can impress you. It won't sound amazing out of the box, but all the tools you need (for the most part), are there.
I have had a lot of luck using the two libraries mentioned above together.
Chris Heins Horns. I do not own this one, so I'm not able to really comment on it. I wasn't impressed with the on line demos, but I wasn't overly impressed with the Garritan ones either.
Arturia's Brass is definitely one I need to consider, the more I do this. I don't think, by itself, it can deliver the goods, but third paris is right... the detail that can come from this type of library is unparalleled. Used in conjunction with a sample based set, this could most definitely work.
And another contender that just joined the market is Sonivox Broadway Big Band
    http://www.sonivoxmi.com/ProductDetail.asp?Item=CDBigBand
The price is steep right now, and there is a lot of discussion that it doesn't have all the instruments needed to do Big band type arrangements. But listen to the demos. What it does do, is so far and above everything on the market, it's not even funny. Keep your eye on this one for sure...

  • Help for writing a Plugin

    Hi All,
I am new to the plugin development.
I was looking for a sample plugin which can pop a messege or dialoag box while saving or opening
Can anyone help me by sending a sample plugin code so that i can know the flow what a plugin does.
my e-mail id : [email protected]
    Thanks
    Srinivas

    Thank you Mr Ian
I am able to start the plugin through the SDK
I have taken the WriteFishPrice sample from the SDK
    the plugin works
but the values in the dropdown are hard coded in .fr file
is there any way where i can send the parameters to .fr file to add more items and not defining many list items in the WFPID.h
I might have confused you. let me clear the topic
in the example the Declaring of the combo box (dropdownlist) is in WFPID.h,
    DECLARE_PMID(kWidgetIDSpace, kWFPDropDownListWidgetID, kWFPPrefix + 2)
and in the example they have defined 4 dropdownitems
    #define kWFPDropDownItem_1Key kWFPStringPrefix "kWFPDropDownItem_1Key"
    #define kWFPDropDownItem_2Key kWFPStringPrefix "kWFPDropDownItem_2Key"
    #define kWFPDropDownItem_3Key kWFPStringPrefix "kWFPDropDownItem_3Key"
    #define kWFPDropDownItem_4Key kWFPStringPrefix "kWFPDropDownItem_4Key"
where in the WFP_enUS.fr file they add the items to all the strings they defined
    kWFPDropDownItem_1Key, "Tuna",
    kWFPDropDownItem_2Key, "Salmon",
    kWFPDropDownItem_3Key, "Bonito",
    kWFPDropDownItem_4Key, "Yellowtail",
Is there any way that instead of defining 4 dropdownitem keys i define 1 and make as a collection of items and send the parameter to the .fr file?
    Please guide me
    Thank you

  • Looking for a HAL mounting gkrellm plugin

Hi, I've decided to finally look into using HAL to mount/umount devices. So I commented out the entries for cdrom and all my other removable devices I've had in /etc/fstab and now I'm looking for an app that lets me mount and unmount the devices
My WM is fluxbox and so I'd prefer either a gkrellm plugin or a way to incorporate that into my menu.

I'd suggest you use halevt from aur.
You can add some mount device command to your menu if specific hal condition occures.

  • Looking for a specific 8-bit synth plugin

There was one I found a while ago (maybe a year or so) that had a lot of Nintendo-type preset sounds. At the time, it wasn't Leopard compatible so I didn't keep it on my system. I've done some searching and checked out a couple plugins since including Magical 8-bit plugin and Chip32, but none have had the wealth of presets that first one did. I know I can recreate any of the sounds I want using those or Logic's own plugs, but I have a small project with a tight turnaround and haven't really worked with this kind of stuff before. Anyone have any idea which plugin I'm looking for? I know my description doesn't give you a whole lot, but if you know any such plugins that had more specific presets than just "square," "triangle," etc. I'd love to check them out. Thanks.

Thanks for both those suggestions. I believe the one I'm thinking of was freeware, but those two do look pretty solid.
