Looking for a remote control for powerpoint on ipad2

Using DocumentstoGO on the ipad2, looking for a method to progress powerpoint slide shows

For sharing between iPads, this might be worth a look:
http://www.ideaflight.com/
Cisco has a WebX application for the iPad that says it allows scheduling, hosting, and attending meetings. There is a client for GoToMeeting for iPad, but I believe that you can only attend, not host.

    Setup for remote app: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1947
    Specifically:
Set up Apple TV (2nd and 3rd generation)
On Apple TV, select Settings from the main menu.
Select General > Remotes > Remote App. If Home Sharing isn't set up on your Apple TV, you should turn it on.
Apple TV (2nd and 3rd generation) uses Home Sharing to stream content from your iTunes library on your computer to your HDTV.  If  you connect your Apple TV to your iTunes library using  Home  Sharing, you can use Remote to browse and play content from any  iTunes library in the Computers   section of your Apple TV. You can also  use Remote to select  between available speakers to enhance  your  audio and video experience.

  • Firewall software & using a remote control for AirTunes?

I recently turned on the built-in firewall on my MacBook Pro. Ever since doing so, every time a run iTunes, get the following message:
Your computer is using firewall software that prevents
you from using a remote control for AirTunes.
To use a remote control for AirTunes, open System Preferences, click
Sharing, then click Firewall, and select "iTunes Music Sharing."
I always tell it to "Ignore" and I am able to play music through my AirPort Express without any trouble. What is the "remote control" to which this message is referring? I have searched Apple's support pages and this forum without any luck. I thought that opening the "iTunes Music Sharing" port in the firewall would allow other people on my local network to see my music if I was sharing it, which I am not. I don't see what this has to do with a remote control.
Thank you for any info you can provide.

    Hi,
there is no remote control for AirPortExpress or Air Tunes. Maybe we will see something like this in the futue, who knows.
As AirTunes uses streaming, it probabely needs the same port open as Music Sharing. Because shared music is streamed too.

2.16 GHz MacBook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.5)   2GB RAM, 7200 RPM HD

This was solved by simply allowing "iTunes Music Sharing" in the Firewall tab of the Sharing preference pane.

Is your Satellite designed to work with remote control?

Either is notebook delivered with remote control or certain model is not designed for it.
    Have you checked notebook specification?

  • Control a swf via RF remote control, ala Powerpoint?

    Hi
I am in the middle of a Flash project creating a powerpoint
    like
presentation to be shown on a projector screen. Flash 9 or a
    projector.exe
I wonder have you ever had to ask Flash/Flex to control the
remote clicker(pointer) buttons using a Front Projection screen ???
I looked on Adobe, Forums and found only this entry,
Topic Title::: How can I control a swf file via RF remote
    control, ala Powerpoint?
    - but don't seem to be able to get to work.
Is there a new method used in AS3? I really need to get my
hands on a very simple .flv example.
I need to click to the nest stop(); and click back if needed.
    onKeypress pagedown
    onKeypress pageup
    Thankyou

I figured it out. Just make a full-screen invisible button
and place it on a layer on each frame.
For insatnce, Actions - Button for frame 2:
    on (keyPress "<PageDown>") {
    gotoAndStop (3);
    on (keyPress "<PageUp>") {
    gotoAndStop (2);
sends the show forward to frame (slide) 3 with a press of the
remote's "Next" button and sends it back to frame (slide) 1 with a
    press of the "Back" button.
I have a Stop action on each frame.
This allows me to control a Flash show just like a Powerpoint
    show. Cool.

  • IPhone 3G - No support for wired remote controls?

I have been looking all over the place for a wired remote for the iPhone 3G with no luck (and yes I have looked through this forum for an answer before asking my question).
I have attempted to use three wired remotes from my previous iPods, but two of them do not work at all and the third is completely unreliable. It is an Apple branded wired remote for the iPod video with similar design to the iPod Shuffle and allows you to connect your own headphones. It will only function after a hard-reset of the iPhone 3G, and strangely it takes about a minute or two for the buttons to work. If I unplug and replug the remote it will no longer be recognised and will not work again until the iPhone 3G is restarted.
I cannot see any wired remote products in the Apple store and I keep getting blank stares whenever I take this question to sales persons.
I use my iPod extensively and the only reason I bought an iPhone 3G was because I was tired of missing calls whilst listening to mp3s. I consider the wired remote as being essential for satisfactory use when out running, driving the car, etc. Without it the iPod functionally is all but useless to me.
Is there a wired remote that the iPhone 3G supports?
Additionally, are there any iPhone 3G compatible bluetooth devices that essentially perform the same function and allow you to attach your own headphones?

I've been looking for a decent remote for exactly the same reasons since I bought the 3g iPhone on release day. I settled for the Griffin SmartTalk as it allows you to answer calls, play / pause and skip (forward only meh!). Its cheap as chips (and it looks and feels as such) but it kinda does the job. Still waiting for a decent remote though. And A2DP for crying out loud! Its been long enough already. Then I could get this... http://www.foneshop.com/accessories/description/2486
which I feel is the best solution I've seen!

  • Remot Control For Digital@nywhere ATSC and Vista Don't Work Together Very Well

    I have a Digital@nywhere ATSC tuner card w/remote.
On Windows XP, the remote worked ok. On Windows Vista, the remote works only some of the time.
On Windos XP, the BDA drivers and utilities on the install disk loaded fine. Not so with Vista.
On Vista, the utilities on the install disk seem to load fine, but the BDA drivers fail.
Loading the Vista Digital@nywhere utilities gets the tuner card to work, but has no drivers for the remote. Leaving me to load the utilities from the install disk, and and the BDA drivers from the Vista Digital@nywhere files. A rather tedious process, with the remote only functioning sometimes.
I have tried every trick I can think of to get the remote control and Vista to work together, to no avail. I'm stumped.
I'd rather not go out and buy a new tuner card, when the Digital@nywhere ATSC tuner card works fine on Vista. I'd just like to have a remote control that works fine too. But I don't.
I hope an answer can be found for this problem.
If I haven't been clear enough, just ask, and I'll try to explain things better.
Thanks for any help that anyone can give.

Are you using Media Center in Vista? If so, buy a Media Center remote, should work with no problems.

  • Best practice for using remote control under limited rights?

Hi. We are getting ready to take admin rights away from our users and make them standard users. We plan to utilize Zen for most of our in-scope applications so that we can allow users to install supported software. There is usually no problem in that case because Zen can elevate to System access during the install. However, we know that there are applications out there that a user may want to install that is not packaged in Zen. Also, in the event that a system setting needs to be changed, we will have to have a method for supporting this. In either case, the user will call our help desk. Unfortunately, the user will not have enough rights to do the install or system change even if the help desk associate remote control's the PC. What is the best practice to handle this situation in a Netware/Zenworks environment where users only have limited access?
I was thinking of three possibilities:
1.) The obivous one is to send a technician over to log in using local admin credentials to install the software or perform the change. (Drawback - not very efficient because a desktop tech would have to get over to the user's PC to perform the work)
2.) Have the help desk engineer log out of the machine through remote control, log back in as local admin to install the software or perform the change. (Drawback - not very convienant and time consuming.)
3.) Have the help desk engineer use the "run as" command or even create a Zen application object that could be executed to provide temporary rights for installing software or making system changes. Aaron Margosis of Microsoft writes about this quite a bit in his blog Aaron Margosis' "Non-Admin" WebLog : Table of Contents (Aaron Margosis' Non-Admin WebLog) (Drawback - some software or settings will not work properly using this technique)
The last one that I didn't list was creating a new application object. I did not factor this one in because this isn't always applicable to system changes and we really don't want to be making app objects for every out of scope app that exists in the user community. We typically only make them for widely used and supported apps.
    Your feedback is appreciated.
    Thanks

That's probably an option that we will make available. I wasn't sure how some things will work under the SYSTEM context vs local admin.
