Looking for a replacement for Terminal from XFCE [SOLVED]

I'm looking for a terminal to replace Terminal from XFCE. The requirements are simple. It needs to be GTK2 based for full clipboard functionality and to not be ugly. There needs to be a right click menu to access copy/cut/paste. And I need to be able to toggle the file menu or access all functions from the mouse. LXTerminal comes very close to this except the file menu is just on and the new window launch keyboard shortcut doesn't work. I don't care either way about tabs, but a terminal launcher is necessary.
----> xterm, rxvt, and the derivatives that I've seen are either too ugly or too feature light. It's too bad because xterm is amazingly quick. <----
So why not just use Terminal? There are times when it seems like there are some runaway processes in the background and it starts to lag behind the mouse when moving. I don't know if this in fact Terminal, but I'll find out soon enough. It wouldn't be surprising though; Thunar was a major headache for me.

  • Looking for a replacement for iTool

I have been using iTool with 10.5.x to run daily, weekly and monthly scripts, as well as cache cleanup, permissions repair, disc verify and repair, etc. I also was using Applejack. I recently upgraded to 10.6 (updated to 10.6.2 now) and upon opening iTool and checking for updates it appears that this app is no longer in development or available. I have also looked into a newer version of Applejack for 10.6.x, which has not been released yet either. Does anyone have any suggestions for a replacement of these apps? I am having problems booting and have booted up with the 10.6 install DVD to run Disc Utility, but it doesn't repair a couple of items and the iMac will not start up completely. I get to the blue screen right before the welcome screen and the spinning gears will show up, disappear, then show up, disappear, and so on. I fear that I may have a bad HDD but would also like suggestions for diag options. My warranty is now expired so I can't just simply go to the Genius Bar and get free assistance. Any suggestions?

    Have you done this:
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger and Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
Your hard drive may be OK but if the directory is too corrupted to be repaired, then you will need to reformat the hard drive. Please report what the DU errors said.

Thank You both for your replies. I was actually looking to change the default terminal used by Dolphin itself not my openbox menu.
Like in other file managers if you select the terminal option it opens in the directory you are in. In Dolphin it is F4 but there is no option to change from 'Konsole' to any other termnal.

  • Looking for a replacement for quicken home and small business.

I run a small business out of my home and have used Quicken Home & Small Business for years.  I still do by running Windows on my Mac via VMWare Fusion.  I need a product that will handle business accounts and personal accounts just like Quicken does.
Does anyone know of a suitable replacement?  I am sick of Windows, but love the functionality Quicken Home & Small Business offers.
    Thanks!

I switched to SEE Finance last week.  The support is good and they state they are going to make several more upgrades to the product.  Right now, no check printing.  I have been able to download from Wells Fargo with no problem and the conversion from Quicken 2007 went as advertised.  Free to download and use - the $29 license fee gets rid of the invitation to purchase and register that pops up when you start the program.  Otherwise, there are no features you are locked out of.

  • Fonts in terminal emulators (terminal from xfce)

I always have problems with fonts in terminal emulators, because I can never choose good one.
Now I found perfect terminal emulator, it's called Terminal.
I have Arch on three computers at home - two workstations and one server.
On one workstation I am able to use "Luxi Mono" font in Terminal.
On another workstation there is no such font available in Terminal (but it is in xfontsel), and all other fonts sux.
I found this font in  /usr/share/fonts/Type1/fonts.cache-1. This file is available on both workstations and /usr/share/fonts/Type1 is in both xorg.conf.
Do you have any tips how to enable more fonts in Terminal? Do you have any favourite terminal emulator font which looks good and has iso-8859-2 encoding?

Jacek Poplawski wrote:It is strange, but I changed it to "no" and now Luxi Mono works
On my computer is strange because when I change no to yes and than again to no, "no" doesn't works anymore.

  • Replacement for the methods in JCo 3.0

    Hi,
We are migrating from JCo 2 to JCo 3.0 in this we are facing problem for the replacement for some methods which mention below :
    JCO.Cline.getURL()
    JCO.Client.getSystemId()

    Hi,
You can also look at implementing bNavigator which has been developed by <a href="http://www.entelsoft.com/">Entelsoft</a>, as a BEx browser replacement.
bNavigator does not aim to compete with the Enterprise Portal - rather it is complementary with some unique advantages. It has "Powered by Netweaver" certification for installation in the Enterprise Portal or it can run standalone on the SAP Netweaver J2EE Application Server that comes with BI 7.0.
More information can be found at <a href="http://www.bnavigator.com/">www.bnavigator.com</a>.
    Cheers

Any suggestion for a replacement for the Adobe 5.0 Acrobat PDFWriter print driver ?
I've written a VB application in Access 2003 that
-- prints temporary PDF documents to file using Adobe 5.0 Acrobat PDFWriter print driver
-- creates bookmarked PDF documents from these files using Adobe Acrobat 6.0.
I'm preparing to convert from XP to Windows 7.
-- Acrobat PDFWriter print driver isn't compatible with Windows 7
-- Adobe's replacement Adobe PDF print driver is less programmable because it requires
manual intervention Dialog Box after each temporary PDF document is printed to file.

Read the Distiller API documentation. You can turn off the prompt and

Try disabling onboard LAN and adding a seperate PCI LAN card.
Again, I can't stress this enough, my infinite loop rebooting problems disappeared when I disabled onboard LAN and added a Linksys LNE100TX v4 card.
And that Infinite Loop problem wasn't with an NVidia card, it was with the onboard X200 Express chip. It seems like the onboard LAN is the cause of the infinite loop error.
Actually the Onboard LAN is not in the Xpress 200 chipset itself.  Each company uses there choice of Onboard Lan chips which would mean it is either an issue in the way MSI designed the chip on the board, a problem with the Bios, OR a problem with that lan Chip.

  • Going to an apple store and asking for a replacement

    Hi
Is it possible for me to go into my local apple store and ask for my iPod Touch 2nd Generation to be fixed?
It has lasted me a good amount of years and it has finally started to die, I was wondering if I could go into the store and ask for a replacement for a knocked off fee. I've been told by a few people that the above method can be done in a store, I was checking if I could get online clarification if this was true.
Also could it have the option to be replaced with a later generation for a slighty raised fee?
    Thanks
    All help appreciated.

Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.

Likely not worth it for a 2G iPod

Im looking for a replacement of "Default Zoom Level" addon. Why is this disabled in Firefox 5/6? Is there a similar addon or how can I set the default zoom?

Did you do a compatibility check?
That is required in cases where the extension has a maxVersion (in this case 4.0.*) set in the XPI file and the server has the correct compatibility data ([[https://versioncheck.addons.mozilla.org/update/VersionCheck.php?reqVersion=2&id={D9A7CBEC-DE1A-444f-A092-844461596C4D}&version=4.5&maxAppVersion=6.0&status=userEnabled&appID={ec8030f7-c20a-464f-9b0e-13a3a9e97384}&appVersion=5.0&appOS=Windows&appABI=x86-msvc&locale=en-US&currentAppVersion=5.0&updateType=97 8.*]]).

I have a legacy apple laser select 360f, with a postscript fax card that appears to have failed. The printer works almost as well as the day it was purchased, back in 1994, and has output 153,000 pages, which is just 3,000 pages over the halfway mark towards its originally declared minimum life cycle.
i am interested in hearing from anyone who might have a replacement postscript fax card for this printer, for sale.
