Looking for a search feature

Hi All,
Is there an ADF component that has search feature of af:inputComboboxListOfValues or af:inputListOfValues but at same time
when user types in it makes a search and suggests likely values [something that we can see in location bars of now-a-days browsers
or google search].
If No, Any ideas how can I achieve it.
Regards
Amit

This works. But there seems to be issues surrounding it. I am not able to select values using keys,
which ever value you select it always goes to 1st value of the dropdown.
It works well when you select it with mouse.
I am not sure if any one else experienced it.
Thanks
Amit

  • Looking for a specific feature in an FTP Client

    Hello!
I am looking for a "simple" feature in any FTP client for OS X.
I have tried Fetch, Transmit, CyberDuck and Interarchy 7.x and none had the ability to throttle uploads/downloads. I work with a limited bandwidth and sometimes have to download files (or upload) in the background but at a very slow speed (because the peer has a poor connection).
None of these nice (and they are nice!) ftp programs can do this. I have to either use wget via the command line (wget --limit-rate=xx) or use Total Commander for Windows inside a Parallels Virtual Machine.
Does anybody know about a Mac FTP client that can throttle and enqueue items easily?
    Thanks in advance!

Look at "lftp". It as about a zillion parameters that can be set. One of them is "net:limit-total-rate"
    Quoted from the Docs....
limit transfer rate of all connections in sum. 0 means unlimited. You can specify two numbers separated by colon to limit download and upload rate separately. Note that sockets have receive buffers on them, this can lead to network link load higher than this rate limit just after transfer beginning. You can try to set net:socket-buffer to relatively small value to avoid this.
Find lftp here lftp.yar.ru It is also in thr Fink archive. http://fink.sourceforge.net/

  • Looking for simple search example using SELECT

Can anyone link me to an example of how to create a basic search page where the search criteria is selected in a drop-down list (<SELECT> in HTML)?
Here's where I'm coming from so you have a better idea of what I'm trying to do. I've created a search page by creating a method in my App Module java class using setWhereClause(), then dropped my view onto my web page as a read-only table, and finally dropped the method and parameter as a command button and input text field, respectively. This works fine, but I'd like to replace the input text field with a select box so that the users will not have to type in their search criteria. I'd like to populate the drop-down with data from a table, which will then be sent as the argument for the method.
I can create a ViewObject that contains the data I need, but I'm not sure where to go from there. I don't know how to create the drop-down list or connect the command button to the list. (Ultimately, I'd like to have the search text submitted when the drop-down changes, but I'll settle for pressing the button for now). I've fooled with using the LOV component, but without any luck.
Step-by-step would be great, but if you can point me to an example, some documentation, etc., that would be great too.
    Thanks,
    Andy

Excellent - Thanks for the link to the sample code page. I thought I had seen all the tutorials, etc. but for some reason never came across this page. The example you cited looks like it's just what I'm looking for.

  • Looking for TV with features

I'm looking for a tv with the following:
LED, PIP, WIFI, 120HZ, auto aspect ratio switching. Size is not a major concern as long as it has the features.
    Bert

Hmmmm PIP... that's hard to come by now. If there is a tv with PIP, one source HAS to be from the tuner input from the tv. You don't usually find the PIP as a "draw feature" anymore so they don't seem to list it on any specs of a tv. So you actually have to go to the store and ask to go through the tv's menu to try and find whether it has it or not. When I worked at BBY most sales people weren't smart enough to look through the menu so they would just tell people that it didn't have PIP. If I remember correctly the high end samsung and sonys still have PIP. You just have to go physically look for it. All the other features you mentioned though are easier to come by. Most tv's are only WiFi Ready though, which means you have to buy an adapter separately. Samsung, Sony, and LG have the features you're looking for.

  • Looking for a special feature

I use Cisco Attendant Console to transfer calls to a dial number of my enterprise and I see if this dial number is busy.
Now I want to know if a mobile number is busy when I transfer a call to it and Cisco Attendant Console don't permit it. I know that with analogic telephony with an application called Phone Manager Lite of Avaya you can do that.
Is there any seemed soluion in Cisco?.

    Carlos:
Attendant Colsole does not have the ability to perform a 'supervised transfer' with standard configuration, although Personal Assistant does.

I have heard of some that use CTI route points and IPCC to attempt this with CCM, but have not heard if it was successful.
    Hope that helps.

  • Search Feature Not Working in Mail 10.7.4

Hi, the search feature is not working properly in Mail since upgrading to 10.7. If I use Spotlight from the desktop, that search will find the particular mail message I'm looking for, but searching directly within mail produces horrible results. I know I can just use spotlight, but sometimes I just want to search within mail. Any suggestions?

    Erase and rebuild index:
Open Terminal and type$ sudo mdutil -E /
    you'll notice it indexing...

  • Interested in other people's suggestions for a good feature

Hi, I'm Kerstin and I'm 2 years old. I li've in Cebu, Philippines, but I'm Swedish (originally from the wonderful city of Uppsala). I'm in the second term of my filmmaking degree at the International Academy of Film and Television[url="http://www.filmschool.ph">(IAFT)[/url]. Busy researching for my screen writing class. I'm interested in other peoples suggestions for a good feature. Always good to get together with like-minded folk.

    Hi Kerstin,
I also have some folks and friends back there and the place is great.Looking for a good feature?Hmmm...you could try the local folktale/s in there,I've heard a lot of it from old grandmas but dont know if it is true or not. It will be an exciting (scary?) one.

  • Search Features

I don't know if this has been discussed before. Maybe I am just not seeing how to do it correctly. But, I would like to propose to the Apple team a couple of items involving the search features.
1.) Search iPad or Search iPhone. It sure would be nice to be able to use the iPhone or iPads integrated search feature to find ebooks as well as songs, emails, contacts, etc.
2.) Search within iBooks. I have over 6500 ebooks on my iPad. If I just finished a book called "Yesterday's Dream" (title made up btw) and I want to search for a specific author or series for my next read, I have to scroll up through all 6500 ebooks to get to the search feature to be able to do that.  I'd like for the search feature to be a constant at the top on the Library. Always there. Always easy to use.
I love my iPad. I love the capability it gives me. I love the portability of being able to carry over 6500 ebooks. I love the ability of the apps. But, I do not see that what I am asking is all that difficult. It's just a tweak in the app.
Thank you very much for your time.

As always, feel free to use the 'Provide iBooks Author Feedback' menu item for features you'd like added in the future, etc.

  • Why doesn't the search feature work on my blog?

Does anything special have to be done (in terms of .Mac indexing my site) for the search feature to work? I've typed in words and phrases that definitely appear in my blog, but every search yields the same message:
Your search did not produce any results.
What's up with that? Anybody have any ideas or suggestions?

Try to re-publish all your iWebsite to .Mac or to export your website on disk and upload it again to your host. I also have a problem with search results... but I get too many...
Can you provide a link to your website?
Wish you a Happy new year

  • Looking for a free app for secure note taking with search feature (unlimited)

    Hi dudes,
As the topic suggests, I'm looking for a free app for secure note taking with search feature without any restriction on the number of notes or any other major restriction. I already use HiDisk (which lacks search feature), and security note+ (which has limitation on the number of notes). I also have used My Disk which its search feature doesn't work correctly (it's buggy).
    Thank you.

One named NotePad is free, saves as .txt files.
Another, WriterRoom, costs $1.99USD, and saves as .txt and .doc files.
