Looking for a Solar iPod charger for iPhone . . .

I am planning to hike across the Grand Canyon next month, and would like to take my iPhone with me during the trip. I know I won't be able to pull in EDGE while there, but would like to use the iPod portion of my iPhone. Since I will not be near any electrical outlets for 2 or 3 days, I was thinking about using a Solar Charger. I know there are several on the market that include rechargeable batteries that I could theoretically attach to my backpack during the day, then use to charge my iPhone at night.
Has anyone successfully used on of these chargers with an iPhone? Any experiences (good or bad) with such devices would be greatly appreciated. As would any links to specific products if you have used one.

Can't claim to have used it, but ilounge.com recently had this in their news section, and also the mfg link... Doesn't ship 'til 25-Oct.

  • Looking for iphone games for mental math or vedic math training?  Dear all,

Looking for iphone games for mental math or vedic math training?
    Dear all,
I am a fan of mental math and/or vedic math etc. and I want to utilize my spare time to do some training whenever I am idle.
That's why I want to buy an iphone. In fact, I buy iphone because it can be a game machine in addition to a phone.
For example, I can utilize my time commuting on subway to do some training...
But I couldn't find good mental math and/or vedic math training game on iphone.
I am an adult so those too-simple problems such as 2*9=18 are not interesting to me,
I would like to exercise something like 123x45, etc.
Could anybody give me some pointers?
    Thanks!

need quick math training games,... thanks!

  • There is no option under the "Preferences" in iTunes to "Look for iPhones or iPads."

    Help!
Every advice on not being able to link my Remote on my iPhone to my pc iTunes states to go to 'Preferences' in iTunes and under the 'Device's tab to check "Look for iPhones or iPads". I have no such option.
    Can someone help?
Is my Norton 360 Antivrus firewall preventing remote access? Could this also be the reason why I cannot get the Airplay option on my iTunes either (trying to connect to B&W Zeppelin Air)?
I have had so much trouble with Apple recently I am seriously getting hacked off!...

Stupid question, but what do you mean by 'select'? Presumabley I have to connect the iPhone via USB otherwise it won't be under 'Devices'?
I've connected via USB, clicked on my iPhone (is that 'select'?), but where do I type the 4 digit code in to? What window?...
No USB, this is done over your wi-fi network.  You do have wi-fi at home right?  Are your computer and iPhone both connected your network, and the same network? (some wi-fi networks have a separate guest network).

  • ITunes wifi sync 'looking for iPhone' then ejects phone

    Hi,
I have sought an answer to this for a long while with no success. So I have joined ASC to see if any of you folks may help
    My Hardware:
    Apple iPhone 4s
    MacBook Pro (2009)
    TP-Link Router (TD-W8961ND)
    My Problem:
iPhone connects to mac over wifi and shows up in itunes.
When I initiate a sync itunes pauses and states 'looking for iPhone'
The iPhone is then ejected from itunes, without syncing (and no longer shows until I restart itunes)
    Further info:
I believe this is a router issue as wifi sync works flawlessly over other networks I have used.
I have enabled uPnP (and have tried disabling it and resetting the router etc).
I DO NOT believe this is an issue with itunes, iphone or Mac as I can sync over other peoples networks
    Any help appreciated.

    Hello there tastesalittlestrangetome.
Seems like you've done some excellent troubleshooting already. This Knowledge Base article provides some extensive/thorough steps to review and follow:
iTunes 10.5 and later: Troubleshooting iTunes Wi-Fi Syncing
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4062
But as you've indicated before, the article also mentions the potential of what you've already determined. It does work on other networks:
Test your device on a different network. If the device works on another network, the issue most likely exists with your router or network configuration. Contact your router manufacturer or Internet service provider for additional troubleshooting.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.

  • Looking for iPhone emulator for MBP..?

I'm looking for iPhone (or iPad) emulator for Mac. There's some software I need to run for work that only available for them, and I'd like instead to run them on my Mac.
    Anything available?
    Cheers!

A bit of Googling confirms what I thought. You can only runs apps in the simulator that you have the source code to. When the SDK compiles an App, different code is used in the simulator to what is sent to the AppStore.

  • Looking for iPhone Speaker Suggestoins

I'm looking for a set of speakers (or just a speaker) that I can put my 3G iPhone in at work to play my music and to charge the phone. Don't need anything fancy with a clock radio, just something simple that I can listen to my music on. I'm not finding anything, can anyone give me some suggestions.
    Thx.

I spent many days researching just this issue. Here's my two cents worth.
A friend had the Logitech one that runs off batteries (about 10 hours play time) and plugged in power. It only charged the ipod/iphone when plugged into the power point. I thought the sound quality was pretty good.
I then went and listened to the BOSE sound-dock portable, again battery (about 14 hours play time) or power-point. This charges the ipod/iphone in either use. The sound was just so fantastic, I bought it, despite it being nearly three times the price of the logitech (sound is 10 times better)
I went for the portable option, because this was the key selection criteria for me.
If you don't need portable battery power, the BOSE sound dock (not portable) is the choice for sound quality. - it gets loud too if you want!
There are lots of sound docking systems available, but I found these two were the best, when it came to value for money. (choice would depend on your budget)
    Cheers

  • Looking for iPhone Security App Similar to Droid's Lookout Mobile Security

I'm a droid user, and because of the iPhone's one button and lack of customization I will most likely always be one. My sister however (even though she loves the droid) kept getting phones that after a few months stopped working. We aren't too sure why, I've never had a problem, but she always does.
Anyway we decided she should switch to iPhone and she is loving it. However I know my sister and she loses her phone constantly. On Droid the Lookout App allows you to locate your phone, back up your phone, 'scream' (in which your phone flashes it's LED and emits an increasingly louder siren to help you find it), lock (making it unuseable if stolen) and a 'wipe' feature that wipes out all your information from the phone if it lands in hands you can't retrieve from.
Now I saw on here that there is already phone backup provided by Apple and a few of these features already but I'm mainly looking for an app (or apps) that can perform the screaming, locating, phone lock and phone wipe feature.
Does anything like this exist? I know a lot of people seem to feel that what LookOut provides isn't needed on the iPhone but I just would feel safer if we could get these features on her new phone.

  • Looking for iPhone earbuds that drop around your neck when not in use.

I know a few weeks ago I stumbled across an add or review for the perfect set of iPhone earphones for me (and my brother).
Basically I am looking for something just like the iPhone earbuds - in-line controls, earbuds not cannels or anything you stick in your ear, but with one additional feature; a "wrap" so when you are have to take them off to talk or listen they just hang on your neck. That would be so convenient. Would also like to get even better sound if possible.
    I would appreciate any suggestions!

Take your favourite earphones, and a piece of string.....

  • Looking for iPhone TTY Adapter Cable

I use the Ultratec Superprint TTY for communicating with other TTY devices, or call a Relay System operator to communicate with hearing people. The TTY device has couplers to accept a land line telephone. The iPhone 5 has a TTY switch to connect the iPhone to the TTY device with TTY Adapter cable. The iPhone manual did not says where to find it. Has anyone seen such cable? If so, let me know.  Thank you.

One correction. The ink statement was in reference to the combo color packs. The black ink is like $18-25 normally. Buy the Xl versions and you are set. I do a decent amount of printing and just those cartridges by itself have kept me going for about eight months still.

  • Looking for iphone credit card reader available in canada

Something similar to the Square reader available in the U.S. Any word on when it will be available in Canada?

Hey guys get ducks in order, I'm a small business owner, I need smooth native apps or built in's that help make money for me, your voice recognition is terrible at best for my Z10, especially when my job relies heavily on making hands free calls to clients, my old 9900 worked well when you had to say numerous commands to adapt to your voice or am I not seeing that this phone does this as well, if so why do I have find it!? As well, I like others are faithful early adapters to BlackBerry, but now, getting impatient as a other devices and OS's are becoming more appealing.
The new Square Card reader is a very good example that you should be working with them aggressively, this simplifying product is excellent for small businesses who provide mobile services, it will explode into adaptation for this sector, do not suggest an android app for use, otherwise I'll make it simpler and just get the android device instead, this solution benefits blackberry how? And if I am the rare one with this sentiment I apologize, but if I representative of a population that matters take it seriously...what do you do with this information? Remember when you start to get a bitter taste, you tend to never again, does blackberry care, show me, do not tell me!
PS/ if you get where the future is going most business are going to move to 2 devices for employees and owner operators that have partial integration, and the only thing that keeps you BlackBerry afloat is the "sense" of security is use, the second device will be for social and leisure...think about it.

  • Do we have any exchange offer for iphone 4?

Friends, I ma looking for iphone 4S/5. Still my iphone 4 is in contract.Do we have any exchange offer for iphone 4?

Well network should be as much as possible. My well-configured Linux clients are all on 1000Mbit network and ten of those is enough to consistently fill a single 1000Mbit interface on a Linux media server. Generally I would suggest using LACP or similar to avoid network contention.
CPU isn't too loaded on a media server, so to be honest I wouldn't worry about that. Bus speed is though, so you really want to make sure you have a good Server class system.
Disk speed and space is a consideration. Your job transcripts will write to the media server, so you need a fairly quick disk and enough space on there to store all the logs. Remember if you need to use any debug modes, the transcripts can be quite large.
My media server is a Dell PE1950, 8 cores @ 1.86GHz, 16GB RAM and 260GB disk space (RAID10). That supports 47 clients all connected via gigabit.
    Thanks
    Rich
