Looking for a tutorial on this effect
Hi guys and gals.
I want to learn this editing effect seen in this clip
http://vimeo.com/22611216
Its the effect where you see the subject over and over again in the same frame, Look at 1.19 for the sample.
If you can help with a link to a tutorial or any advise please let me know.
Also take note how the background clouds seem to move indipendent to the subject that has been altered in editing. That effect is way cool.

Oh. Well, all I saw was some guy holding his junk and walking around the top of an old hotel in New York. No sign of masked girls walking or on bikes, not may girls at all. Sure you gave us the right link?
Yes, David - your old eyes must be failing you - all those music-video-y quick cuts...
But I don't recall him holding his junk... Had his hands folded in front of himself... didn't see no junk, though... Oh, and the bikes were in the OP's link.

I am looking for a tutorial on laoding external images using
XML. I created a menu with flash that lists catagories for products
and a marketing banner with in the fash movie.

the banner and also to reduce the size of the Flash .swf.
I am not having anyluck finding a tutorial that will help me
with this. I have downlaoded the XML basics from gotoand learn.com
but it just was not what I am looking for.
Thanks for your help in advanced,
invtechOk, I don't yet see the underlying algorithm, but I am still

My hard drive was replaced. I am using time machine to restore. It is about 40 minutes into the procedure and the computer is still "looking for other sources" is this normal?
First go to iPhoto Preferences, look in both General and Advanced tabs to make sure that things are set to import from camera into iPhoto.
Then if that doesn't help, connect the camera and open Image Capture in your Applications > Utilities folder and see if you can use Image Capture to reset the import path from the camera to iPhoto.

I am looking for a tutorial I had found a few days back on Tabular data display in Flex
Hi,
I picked up Flex programming a few days ago and I was learning about data grids and tabular display of data. I came across a tutorial with code samples that showed how to 1. display information in a tabular format.
2. how to read that information from a xml
3. how to show more information if a item in the tabular format is selected.
the tutorial used gamers and their preferred games as tabular data items and once an item is clicked it showed the game publisher info and some detailed information as text. I am looking for this particular tutorial again and not able to find through google search
Could you please help me discovering this article again?
regards,
RamFound it.

Looking for a tutorial to make a paint splash
I'm looking for a good tutorial to make a paint and water splash. It can be either for photoshop cs6 or illustrator cs6 or both. If anybody knows of one, I would appreciate it. p.s. I'm not looking to use a scatter effect. I'm looking for the glossy splash effect.
>>Have you tried googling »photoshop tutorial splash«?
Yes and variations such as paint splash and water splash.
>> many tutorials may utilize photographic images as the basis of splash-effects<<
Yep that and scatter effects is all I can find. -
Look for beginner tutorial WebDynpro / iView
Hello,
first of all I would to say that I am new in SAP and EP. (I am a student who is writing his thesis)
I just downloaded and installed the SneakPreview and now I would like to develop a simple demo application.
I like to develop it in Java/WebDynpro and an iView for showing the appl. in the portal.
Does someone know a good tutorial for a simple "Hello World" application?
I think that I only need a WebDynpro tutorial because the iView can be created "easily" within the portal administration.
At the moment I not have any other SAP-system behind the portal, so I need only a very simple application, that shows me some Text within an iView.
I already searched the forum but all findings only were some code-idea-pieces and not a complete step-by-step tutorial.
Thanks a lot for your help.

Looking for Head and Tail burn effects
Anybody know of plug-ins or overlay clips that create the overexposed "roll-out" effect, where the tail of a clip flickers into overexposure? I would also like to find something that burns the edge of the clip to look like it was filmed from a camera?
I found this for AE, anything similar for FCP?
http://prolost.blogspot.com/2006/11/film-burn.html
Thanks
15" MBP, 2.16ghz Core 2 Duo, 2 GB ram Mac OS X (10.4.8)Cool Animation Preset.
'Course, you could just do this effect in AE, then you'd be done already. -
After taking days to upload elements 13 I am now having trouble even trying to import my images and videos into the program for editing. Each time I IMPORT files an error message comes up that says " ....has stopped working, we are looking for a solution to the problem and will notify you if a solution is found" I have not been able to edit ANYTHING or even drag files/images to the time line.... is it me? is my computer too slow? surely if it was, then Adobe elements 13 would not have installed in the first place? please someone help me sort this out as I have a deadline to make for a docco! thanks in advance Lyddy
From the Premiere Elements Information FAQ http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1042180
•You MUST use an account with Administrator Privileges to run Premiere Elements
•(Doing Run as Administrator http://forums.adobe.com/thread/969395 [says Encore and also for "All" versions of Premiere] will sometimes fix "odd" errors)
•What version of Premiere Elements? Include the minor version number (e.g., Premiere Elements 12 with the 12.1 update)
•What operating system? This should include specific minor version numbers, like "Mac OSX v10.9.4"---not just "Mac"
•Has this ever worked before? If so, do you recall any changes you made to Premiere Elements, such as adding Plug-ins, brushes, etc.? Did you make any changes to your system, such as updating hardware, printers or drivers; or installing/uninstalling any programs?
•Have you installed any recent program or OS updates? (If not, you should. They fix a lot of problems.)
•What kind(s) of image file(s)? When talking about camera raw files, include the model of camera.
•If you are getting error message(s), what is the full text of the error message(s)?
•What were you doing when the problem occurred?
•What other software are you running?
•Tell us about your computer hardware. How much RAM is installed? How much free space is on your system (C:) drive?
•How many and what speed are your hard drive(s)... ie 5400rpm or 7200rpm or?
And some other questions...
•What are you editing, and does your video have an orange line over it BEFORE you do any work?
•Which version of Quicktime do you have installed?
•What is your exact brand/model graphics adapter (ATI or nVidia or ???)
•What is your exact graphics adapter driver version?
•Have you gone to the vendor web site to check for a newer driver?
•For Windows, do NOT rely on Windows Update to have current driver information
•-you need to go direct to the vendor web site and check updates for yourself
•nVidia Driver Downloads http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
•ATI Driver Autodetect http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/auto-detect-tool -
Looking for Lo-fi Gramophone/dictaphone effect for strings!
Thats right, I wish to make my expensive Vienna Strings sound like crap. I'm looking for a plugin that will emulate an old gramophone or similar. I know on Logics master output you can choose 'Old valve radio' or 'Old movie sound' from the CST and these are ok, but ultimately they're lacking in warmth and authenticity. Anyone got any plugs that do such a thing? An alternative is that I record my strings to dictaphone or tape and degrade them, but I will probably end up with timing issues.
Any thoughts as always, most welcomeAudioease Speakerphone! Absolutely brilliant for this type of thing. It has gramophone impulses that sound really authentic and in some cases include scratches and clicks. You could also use iZotope Vinyl to add mechanical rumble, noise, hiss etc. Vinyl is less authentic sounding but is free.
Cheers

Looking for "animate draw on video" effect
I need to supply a client with an animated drawing effect on video.
Actually it's a still frame- so hopefully that makes it easier.
(He wants me to animate glasses and a moustache being drawn on a face)
The effect seems fairly common.
Is this something that is done in photoshop or after effects or
is there a key frame, plug in for FCP?You could do this pretty easily in AE or Motion. This will describe how to do it in Motion:
1.) Bring the frame in question into a "drawing" program: Illustrator or Photoshop. Draw your elements on top of your frame.
2.) Import your background frame & the new drawing into Motion. Put them into their own individual groups.
3.) Make a new group and use the "Bezier Tool" to draw lines (that Motion will call "Shapes") that hide your drawings. The lines should have no Fill & their outlines should be large enough to completely hide your drawings. You should 1 "shape" for every "stroke" of the drawing that needs to get revealed. This group probably needs to be on the top of your stack to see that you're hiding the drawing.
4.) Apply the Behavior, Shape > Write On to each of your shapes. This is going to cause your strokes to grow into place. Play with timing to suit yourself.
5.) Select the Group with your drawing: 'stache & glasses and go to the menu: Object > Add Image Mask. Make the top group, your written-on strokes, the mask for this drawing layer.
Your drawing should now draw itself on. You may need to make your drawing with individual layers for the strokes to make the write-on process cleaner. I'll post some screen shots in a minute to better illustrate this all. It's actually much easier than all the verbiage may make it sound... -
Looking for downloadable transitions maybe even effects?
Im curious if there are any downloadable transitions effects for i-movie 5.0.2?
i couldnt find any, but maybe someone out there knows a link to some?
(you sure helped me break upp large movies so i could put them in, maybe this will work too.)Hi Agent_m4 - GeeThree have several plugin packages that include many transitions:
http://www.geethree.com/slick/index.html
They are not particularly cheap, but they are good.
cf/x also have some useful, cheap plugins:

Just looking for some advice at this stage
Hello all, been a while since I posted here... That's cause it's been a while since I've upgraded :D
Anyway, I'm just planning my build now and I want to check up on a few things... I'm going Conroe obviously (E6600) but I'm not decided on which flavour of board I'll go for just yet. Depending on what AMD/ATi pull out of the bag it'll either be the 975X or a P6N SLI (in some form or other). At this point three things are on my mind:
1. I want to go for 4Gb of (matched) RAM on two sticks... anything I need to be aware of regarding 2Gb module compatibility? Any makes to avoid (OCZ seem to be unpopular in that regard).
2. I'd like to move to a SATA optical drive, and issues there? Makes to avoid etc. especially in the case of the 975X as the tested hardware list only seems to include PATA drives.
3. What the recommended Amperage on the 12V line these days? I'm currently looking at the 620W Corsair PSU as a safe bet, other recommendations are welcome though.
Thanks for any advice/opinions offered in advance... hopefully with a bit more info this time I'll be able to avoid trouble shooting posts :D
Gift.Right so I've done it, two PCs at the spec posted in my sig...
They seem to be working fine, nice and stable but a few little niggles I'd like to sort:
1. Updating the Mobo drivers, live update doesn't seem to like Vista so should I just DL the ones on the mobo main page?
2. Vista seems to behave strangely when it greys out the screen to indicate a UAC box needs attention. It fades in ok on both PCs but seems to flicker off once I'm done with the box in a way that seems to render the graphics weirdly. I wouldn't go so far to describe it as graphical corruption more like a kind of rendering lag... Anyone else noticed this, I've an idea uptodate mobo/gfx drivers might be the problem (I've just gone with the stuff vista DL'ed installed, for me) but otherwise all good games run stably so far (touch wood).
I'm off for a night of installing software :D Deep joy.
Gift.
PS sorry this was late, parts got delayed in the post :D And I had no probs with my RAM if peeps are interested.
