Looking for Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8.0

Hi,
I need setup for Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8.0 for working with PDF forms in NWDS 7.0 SP18 and NWDS CE 7.1 EhP1.
I could not find it on Adobe Website. All they have is 9.X and above versions.
Also, when I tried to download from SAP Marketplace, it says that item is no longer available.
Please help.
Thanks and regards,
Amey

Hi Markus,
Thank you for reply.
I dont have SAP GUI Installation DVD with me. I am a developer who is supporting SAP Web Dynpro Application installed at client side.
Is there any other way to find this installation?
And on SAP GUI DVD, can you tell me its location?
Thanks and regards,
Amey

  • Uninstall string/command for Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8

I would like to uninstall, via a command line/uninstall string, the Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8 package on multiple PCs.  Can someone provide me with this information?  I see there is a manual uninstall through the add/remove programs, but this is not an option.  It came packaged with our Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional software.
    Thanks.

  • What is the latest version of adobe livecycle designer for mac?

    Hello Guys,
I am new for Adobe LiveCycle Designer.
Can some one guide me what is the latest version for Mac.
    Thanks in advance.

    HARI

    Hi HARI,
Yes, that short video is demonstrating LC Designer (albeit an earlier version).
The video is showing how to create a dynamic form, where you can add and remove items at runtime and have other dynamic features. Do develop this type of form you will need LC Designer ES2 (current version 9). As I said this runs on Windows, so you would need a virtual machine on the Mac to run Windows.
LC Designer comes with Acrobat X Pro for Windows (Note it does NOT come with Acrobat X Pro for Mac). See http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/matrix.html.
You also need to consider what your users will have to fill in the forms: Acrobat OR Reader. There are some features that will not be available in Reader unless you Reader enable the form. For example users with Reader will not be able to save their data in a form that has not been Reader enabled.
More info on that here: http://assure.ly/gYyYc2
You can also see some short sample forms here, which will give you an idea on some of the dynamic features: http://assure.ly/eEPuCM. All of these were created with LC Designer.
Forms that are created in LC Designer are in accordance with the XFA specification. They are wrapped in a PDF wrapper that allows then to be opened in Acrobat/Reader. However they are not like a standard/native PDF and some standard Acrobat features, like commenting may not be available.
You can also create forms directly in Acrobat, these are called AcroForms. They can be used to collect data, but generally don't have the same level of dynamic behaviour that you saw in the video.
There are plenty of examples on the forums, so I would recommend that you explore these before you make any purchase. There can be a learning curve, depending on whether you have scripted before.
    Hope that helps,
    Niall

  • ADOBE AIR for offline applications or Adobe LiveCycle Designer Offline form

    Hi Experts,
I have a requirement of recreating the XK01 Customer Master Creation functionality and host it as online application in SAP Netweaver Enterprise Portal. I have done this by creating a Web Dynpro ABAP application and embedding a adobe livecycle designer interactive forms (having same fields as required for Customer Master creation in XK01). In online scenario, the PDF form opens up in browser. In offline scenario, the user can fill up the form and upload the form using UPLOAD button created in the Web Dynpro application. There has been some performance issues like if we have too many dropdown UI elements in the form (having many entries in each), then the form takes too much time to get uploaded.
Can we think of a alternate solution using Adobe AIR desktop application which will enable the user to fill up the form in AIR like User interface. I am new to Adobe Flex and Adobe AIR.
The online scenario  perfectly fine with Adobe LiveCycle Designer Forms and SAP ABAP Web Dynpro application. It's offline functionality where its performance hasnt been up to the mark.
Also let me know if Adobe AIR can be used in the offline scenario while ADOBE forms in online scenarion or is it mandatory to have AIR AND FLEX in offline and online scenario respectively.
    Please advise.
    Regards.
    Rohit

hi,do you still need an answer for this question?
Because Adobe flex and air are very good solutions for a offline and online scenario

  • We were using Adobe Livecycle Designer 7.0 for creating forms, what is new product replacement?

We were using Adobe Livecycle designer 7.0 (circa 2004) for creating our own dynamic forms.  The program has since failed to work, we cant locate the old disk.  What is the new product replacement that will allow us to build new forms from scratch with our own fields and data collection?

LiveCycle Designer no longer comes with the Windows version of Acrobat Pro, but it can be purchased separately (soon): http://www.adobe.com/products/livecycle/tools/designer.html

  • Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES closes when I open it...

Hello all, I want to thank you beforehand for the help regarding this matter. I use Windows Vista and my Adobe LiveCycle Designer was working before but for the last week and a half or so I have not been able to get it to work! I have done scandisk/defrag/and have multiple software to keep my computer clean so I have taken those precautions beforehand. To the problem...:
My Adobe LiveCycle Designer opens up and it was working previously as mentioned, but when I try to open it by either opening or converting a form or creating a new form with a template, I am not able to as it gives me an error message and closes! It gives me an error message of "Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES has stopped working" and a screenshot of this is provided at the following link:
    http://www.mediafire.com/imgbnc.php/bc59d422150595157c212a5b181313244g.jpg
I don't know what to do and wanted to see if I could solve this problem before I was forced to try to manually reinstall it so hopefully I don't have to go through that. I appreciate the help once again!

    Shawn,
This may be a couple of known things; one is related to your specific installation (may have become corrupted if you did an upgrade from a previous version, especially if you upgraded from Beta?) Or, it may be related to a known SQL Server compatibility bug for which a hotfix will shortly be posted. (Problem with some Microsoft DLLs that get updated if you install SQL server).
If you have SQL Server installed, try looking on these forums for a patch that should be posted within the next 2 days. If not - please contact me directly, as I'd like to get someone on my development team to help look through your installation and see what the problem is, so we can fix this properly.

  • Problem with expanding textfield in Adobe LiveCycle Designer

I've got an urgent problem with Adobe LiveCycle Designer and I really could use some help. The problem is that I'm trying to get my textfield expandable, but whatever I try, it's not working. What I'm trying to get done is that you can fill in a textfield, and when there is more text than the size of the field, the textfield expands to make the text fit in the field.
I tried a whole lot of things:
placing the textfield in a subform
    expand to fit (height)
    allow multiple lines
    allow page breaks
    flowed/positioned
    etc.
The strange thing is, that no matter what I try to adjust, I can't change anything in the pagination tab. Maybe that is the problem, but I don't know what to do, to change that.
In the examples of Adobe itself (Purchase Form) is an example of a textfield that sort of behaves as I want it to, BUT the problem is that that textfield in the subform has to be triggered to appear by a button (add comments) and that is what I don't want. I want the textfield to be visible from the beginning. But in that example you CAN see the pagination tab and make changes in it.
I searched a lot in the Adobe Helpfiles of Designer, and I even bought and read/studied the book 'Creating Dynamic Forms with Adobe LiveCycle Designer', but still I'm not able to get this done.
Is there anyone who can help me?
    Thanks in advance,
    Sterre

I am creating my first .pdf with no training. I first converted a word doc of our form into a .pdf. Modified everything and thought I was the "bomb" for figuring it out. Then I tried to use the form and where I had "allowed multiple lines" I realized that it would allow that but not display it or print it except for what was showing.
In researching for a solution, this site said to use "expand to fit". After much frustration I realized that this feature is only available if you created the form from scratch in adobe.
I have figured out, somewhat, how to create the form and get the field to move with the text but I need the entire form to adjust to the input. Can't have one specific field expand into the rest of the form.
I did some more research on this site, and it looks like the solution has something to do with 'subforms'. No idea what to do.
If anyone knows if there is a way to do this with a converted doc (since I already have that completed) I would GREATLY appreciate it. If it isn't possible, could someone walk me through how to do it or provide a reference for a "barney style" walk through?
Appreciate ANY assistance you can provide. THANKS! Guess I need to sign up for an Adobe Pro class. BTW I'm working on LiveCyle 8.0

  • Embed webquery in PDF using Adobe LiveCycle Designer

    Dear BI Gurus,..Pls. help !!!!
We have  NW2004s with Portal and ADS installed
Is it currently possible to embed BW objects like query results and Documents into PDF, may  be using Adobe LiveCycle Designer to design a pixel-perfect layout?
So for e.g. an A4 size PDF would have several query results and may be also a document or a chart , and these objects can be manually arranged in A4 size layout.
Is there an option to achive this by some kind of webdynpro programming?
I would give best points to you !!
    Thanks in advance

    Kamakshi,
First, any extension fields added must be explicitly assigned to appear on the forms. Through Front-end Adaptation, this would be via the "Further Usage" link. Within the SDK, you'd right-click the XBO and select "Enhance Forms" (which would take you to the same screen as you'd end up at in through front-end").
You must select "Add Field and Edit..." to actually assign it to the Form Template schema.
Once this step is done, re-download the Form Template, and make sure to reload the Data Connection within LiveCycle. Through there, you should see your fields. You'll likely have to dig for them - they appear at the very end of the child elements.
Note that, while fields added through the front-end have a long string appended to the end (for example, it would appear as "ExtensionField_1234AISU897234HJA" if added via front-end adaptation), the fields added via the SDK do NOT have the suffix (you'll be looking for an element with JUST the field name, i.e. "ExtensionField")

  • Adobe LiveCycle Designer 7

I am currently learning how to use Adobe LiveCycle Designer 7.0. My employer gave me the file to install a trial version along with pdf files with tutorials explaining how to use it. I am having trouble with the tutorials that involving scripting. Though I copy the script code directly from the pdf and follow the instructions. I have a hard time getting it to work correctly.
The one that I have had the most problem with is the tutorial entitled "Providing Interactive database lookup from forms."   It can found at this address: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/livecycle/articles/lc_designer_db_lookup_tip.pdf#search=%22%22providing%20interactive%20database%20lookup%22%22 I followed the instructions to create a new data connection from the mdb file provided. There was a script to populate a drop down box that I was able to get to work after changing the syntax a bit. However the script that is on the button to execute the query I couldn't ever get to work.
Here are the instructions copied directly from the pdf.
    13. Select the Refresh object. In the Script Editor, choose the following:
    • Show: click
    • Language: FormCalc
    • Run At: Client
    14. In the Script editing area, type the following code:
    if (Len(Ltrim(Rtrim(SelectField.rawValue))) > 0) then
    $sourceSet.DataConnection.#command.query.commandType = “text”
    $sourceSet.DataConnection.#command.query.select.nodes.item(0).value = Concat(“Select * from OfficeSupplies Where ID = “, Ltrim(Rtrim(SelectField.rawValue)) ,””)
    //Reopen the Dataconnection
    $sourceSet.DataConnection.open()
    endif
Whenever I click the button I received the following error:
    http://img169.imageshack.us/img169/7250/errorbr6.png
Any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong?  Also does anyone know of where I can get good information about how to script these forms to integrate with SAP?  Thank you for your help.

    Hi Jason,
as you are using the Adobe stand-alone Designer and tutorials, you should direct your questions directly to Adobe (probably on their website) as the samples shipped with the stand-alone product do not necessarily work in the SAP environment.
For SAP integration, you need to install SAP NetWeaver AS(demo versions, for example, here in SDN on the download site) and use the versions of the Adobe components delivered by SAP. SAP also provides tutorials for the Interactive Forms integration in Web Dynpro.
Start looking at this topic on the SDN homepage at http://sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/interactiveforms where you will also find many links.
You can connect to SAP using the Adobe stand-alone products, too, but given Adobe's development partnership with SAP, this approach doesn't make much sense - and it is, as I stated above, a question for Adobe, not SAP.
    Kind regards,
