Looking for an ABAP Objects e-learning course

Does anyone know of any abap objects e-learning courses that are available? I checked with sap university, and they only offer the BC 401 customer course. I'm looking for a course for beginners. I found an advanced course that has been recoreded in Germany, but it is an advanced course for developers with experience in abap objects. Thanks! Allison McCloskey

Hi,
You can use transaction STAT or STAD for finding the statistics of usage regarding report or transaction.
You can also use the Function module SAPWL_WORKLOAD_GET_STATISTIC for getting the statistics of reports executed.
You need to get the dir from Function module SAPWL_WORKLOAD_GET_DIRECTORY and loop through the dir returned by the and pass the dir(internal table ) fields to the Function module SAPWL_WORKLOAD_GET_STATISTIC for getting the details

Transport request no for the abap object

Hi experts,
                  I want to know the transport request numbers for the abap objects. Can anybody tell me the procedure of how to know the transport request number?
My approach : I want the transport request number for the function module.Open the functional module. go to Object Directory Entry and click on Lock Overview.
it is displaying the 1.Request   2.User   3.Task/request   4.Object.      What is the main difference between Request and Task/request.
For some programs it is not displaying the request number. Instead it is displaying the request locks.

Sorry, perhaps I should have been clearer! The function that I picked just to test what you need to do just happened to return a string that contains SPAN tags with style attributes. The actual function code is:

Create a transaction code in SE93 and choose OO-Transaction there. Switch of "OO transaction model", enter the name of your class, method, and program in the fields and save.
Now you can call the transaction. It shows "Hello World".

ABAP OBJECTS E-LEARNING

Hello everybody,
I could able to see a 5 part series of ABAP Objects by the author Thomas Jung in the e-laerning. The duration of each part is 1 hour. But when I run the video,it runs for only 10 minutes.
Does anybody where to find the full version ?

Observer Design Pattern: Looking for redesign ABAP OO code example

I am looking for an example for ABAP OO code that has been redesigned by applying the Observer Design Pattern. I would be very interested in both the code before as well as the code after the pattern is being applied.

Observer can be implemented using the EVENTS.
I had recently implemented the observer at one of my client's place. I had screen with so many ALVs. One ALV was kind of editable and other were just showing the information of the current row as well as some total information. So, initially I started with the Main ALV and SUB(1 and 2) for other ALVs. Now, when I need to refresh my ALVs based on the main ALV data, I had to explicitly update the data of the each Sub ALV. The code was kind of static and requirement was not yet fixed.
Later on we need to add one more ALV on the same screen. It was easy to change the existing method where I was doing the explicit refresh of each ALV. But I thought of using the Events.
I created an event REFRESH_DETAILS for main ALV. so, when data gets changed (which I was catching by DATA_CHANGED event of ALV), I raise the event.
RAISE EVENT REFRESH_DETAILS
exporting new_data = it_Data.
In Sub ALVs, I created the event handler method to handle the event REFRESH_DETAILS of the main ALV.
methods: handle_refresh_details
for event REFRESH_DETAILS of ZCL_MAIN_ALV.
I also had to register the Handler.
SET HANDLER me->handle_refresh_details FOR ALL INSTANCES.

Using new namespace for existing abap objects

Hi,
We have just reserved a namespace and want to move existing code (tabels, data-elements, ...) to this namespace. The issue we notice is that the namespace is added to the name of the abap-object, so that every code-reference to that object must be changed. This leads to a lot of work. Can this somehow be avoided?

Hi Jurgen!
This can't be avoided, that's the very core of the names. Different question is: can this be automated. Not completely.
Fastest way (and it's really not so terrible as it seems):
- copy the objects to new names
- make where-used list to all objects (e.g. table name)
- search and replace in each object (e.g. include)
- generate new version
- delete old object
- check all objects for missed references
Still will take several days for one person. For very large developments you can think about a program to do the mentioned list - but this will take a lot of time to program, too.

Looking for a comprehensive place to learn FCP from ground up

I am from the radio side of the tracks, doing sound production on PCs for the last 20 years, but I have now started my own mobile sound and lighting service *which I had done on the side of radio for the past two decades
My wife and I have decided to add video production to our services when we can finally use the FCP software efficiently and professionally:)
I am just looking for a good resource to get up to speed with these programs. I bought the FinalCut Pro 2 Upgrade kit and I had FC4 from years ago to upgrade from. I am also using Logic's entire suite on a current Mac Pro.
So...we have the hardware, we have the software, but lack all of the knowledge. My wife and I are sponges for new hobbies and we are both computer savvy and highly efficient in sound editing programs like Cool Edit Pro/Currently Adobe Audition...SAW, some Dalet and a ton of Prophet/Next Gen experience.
Anyone that could point me to a great website (I realize this one is phenomenal, but you guys are so far above my head) but it does lack an ABC type tutorial. Also, a good publication...There isn't much in the Mac section at Barnes and Noble and nothing on FCP.
Thanks and I will be a frequent looker on the forum for a while.

If you prefer books, the Apple Pro Training Series is, I think, the way to go. There are some duds in the series every now and then but all the Final Cut Pro books I've read are nice. Like many books on the subject, they include footage for you to work with.
If you're into video-based training, I'm a big fan of Ripple Training. I'd have no clue how to really work Color otherwise.

Looking for an ABAP Trick

Hi All,
I have two internal tables say it_itab1 and it_itab2.
it_itab1 have distinct sale order numbers and it_itab2 contains the material numbers with the sale order numbers.
Now in the output i need those lines from it_itab2 which material numbers common amongst all the sale order numbers in it_itab1.
Any trick????????

Looking for a Business Objects Universe built for OIM

My company has Business Objects and Management prefers to do reporting using the BO product. Also adding reports to OIM requires several database changes and a redeploy to push out the label changes, and that causes the skitters with Management. We have a team that is looking at creating a BO Universe for the OIM database, but as you know, a lot of display transformation work is done in the Java WebApp and that would need to be modeled in the SELECTs in the Universe.
Does anyone have a BO Universe already built for OIM?

Table to look for the test object information

Hello everybody,
I am working on solution manager and i was wondering if there were a way to get the informations i had directly in tables using the SE16 transaction. So my question is the following: is there a way to extract data like test plan, status text, test object, test instructions, user, date, time from SAP tables. Thank you in advance for your answer.

Looking at another of Tracy's other post (http://scn.sap.com/thread/3598947) she's trying to use ACL. Hence needing to know the tables to write joins/queries to hit tables within ACL
I've seen ACL used and have had the fun experience of Auditors using Google to find tables to perform checks on without context of what has actually been implemented in their particular system.
