hi...i am looking for an album (the "hope floats" soundtrack with a duet by bob seeger/martina mcbride) and can't find it on i tunes. first time i haven't been able to find something. any suggestions or am i mistaken? thanks...

I mean this is kind announcement. Not all Rob Mayth is on Spotify. I contacted all the labels, but nothing!!! These 2 remixes, official ones, you can't even purchase!!! Why you can't support this music to upload this to your service with label apply?

Looking for a music app that doesn't stop playing music when album over

Back in the 90s, I had a 5 disc CD player. When one album was done, it would move to the next album.
With iTunes, one album was done, the next album would start playing.
With iPhone, one abum is done, music stops playing.
I don't understand the logic behind the iPhone music app. This is especially bad for when I'm driving.
I'm looking for a type of Music app that either:
1) Allows me to swipe to next/previous album as well as next/previous track. (maybe a swipe up/down command)?
or
2) Allows me to display all songs, but sorted by Artist or album (that way I automatically have one long
or
3) Will automatically advance to the next album when the current one is done.

Bob, I have the guide, just didn't think of the playlist angle. I was looking for the genre/Siri thing. But hey, making a playlist worked.
Demo, yes Siri works now that I've made a playlist and say "playlist" And I'm satisfied with the fix.
But you'd think apple could make playing music more convenient. I took off all my music and retagged it, leaving all info blank (ie: albums and artists etc) and leaving only genre because it's so difficult to get it play a genre. I'd pick a genre, start with a song and it would play only songs from a single album. I've read of some odd fixes for this and a couple of them worked...sometimes! (If you stand on one leg and whistle Dixie kind of things) Ridiculous!
By eliminating all tag info except genre I fixed that issue and can now play by genre.
But as of now Siri still won't play Gospel music by my asking, she still replaces my spoken "Gospel" with her "Christian & Gospel" which like I said doesn't exist. And correcting Siri doesn't work. All my music falls into 3 genres, 2 of them Siri handles perfectly, Gospel she messes up.
Bottom line - I shouldn't have had to make a playlist, or played with the tagging of my music. Apple says you can play your music by genre, and it should be simple to do so.

How can I set up a smart album that looks for keywords?

I'm in the middle of a rethink on my image management and am wanting to setup smart albums that will search for and display images that have a certain keyword. When I create a new smart album to do this, I'm only given the ability to choose to search for rating and calendar criteria; the keywords and import session options are greyed out. My images have keywords assigned, so where do I go from here?

OK, a step forward. It seems that if I create a smart album it will only look for keywords in the project that it is contained in.
Perhaps someone can help me then: I keep a collection of albums for each person that is featured in a photograph. These albums are stored outside of the projects that the images are stored in so I can have a collection of images that show person X from all the different shoots.
What I want to do now is keyword each image with the person's name (as a keyword) and then have a Smart album that will pick out all of their photos from my entire library, not just a certain project. How can I do this?

Changing Sort Order in Smart Album when Looking for Roll Name=Corruption

We've confirmed via testing and from new posters that changing the sort order in a Smart Album who's criteria is to look for a roll name will cause iPhoto to crash and then crash upon launch after that.
So to avoid corrupting your library do not change the sort order of a Smart Album designed to locate rolls.

Ha! I upgraded to iPhoto 6.0.3 and opened the dummy library I had created. (This was the library where the crash on launch kept happening because I had a smart folder looking for rolls and sorted by title or something else other than the default.)
Guess what, it opened just fine! 6.0.3 fixes the crash. Not sure how much it helps people who started new libraries, but at least others won't run into this.

I am looking for software to store photos with. I am not a fancy photographer, and really am just looking for the digital version of a photo album. iPhoto is not cutting it, mainly because it does not back up and restore easily on an external HD.

That's how Time Machine and iPhoto now work. Restore the library to one of the external HDs, check it for the photos you want, export them to the boot drive and delete the restored library.
If you know the file name of the photo you're looking for you can search for them in the TM backup using Find Any File.
My workflow allows me to do that:
1 - upload new photos to a folder on the Desktop.
2 - name the folder to represent the contents and date: 01/03/10-Toads Bday
3 - use a file renaming app to sequentially rename the photos in the folder to: 2010-01-03-Toads Bday-001.JPG, -002,JPG, -003.JPG, etc.
4 - import the folder into iPhoto creating an Event with the same title as the folder.
Now I can search for those file by file name with any app of my choosing.

Looking for a Photo Album or Photo Management Software

Does anyone know of any good software that I could use like a photo album, something like iView Media (which I have) but maybe a little more visually appealing. I'm not looking for anything to host pics online; I just want something that lets me break down my pictures by year...and then sub-folders for each year so I can have all different subjects. I haven't been able to find anything no matter how much I've googled...THANKS!!

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. As TD mentioned you can use iPhoto in the alias mode but you take on some additional responsibilities. When you delete a photo from the iPhoto library you do not delete it from the HD. That must be done manually from the Finder. It can be pretty easy to do that before deleting from iPhoto by Control-clicking on the thumbnail and selecting Show Original in the contextual menu. You'll be taken to the folder where the source file is located where you can delete it manually. Then delete it from iPhoto.
Secondly, you won't be able to add photos to existing source folder and have them imported into iPhoto automatically. So it's best to put each new import in their own folder and import that way. Also you should not rename or move a source file once it's been imported into iPhoto.
If you're interested in checking it out more thoroughly, read Tutorial No. 2.
If do decide on converting to an alias based library and want to preserve your keywords from the library, Tutorial #1 would be of help. You can follow #1 and then move the photos from the Originals sub folders into your other folders in the Pictures folder and replace the old files with the keyworded files. Next remove the old Library folder to the desktop, create a new library and set iPhoto's Advanced preferences to not copy file when importing. Then import your "source" folder into the new library and you're back in business.
But you should remember the caveats I've mentioned. If you're careful you can operate as you'd like.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. Looking for single song and not an album

I purchased a song that later I realized was Karoake and it would not play the vocal on my car radio. I don't mind buying another copy of the song in the version that is not Karoake, but can't find another copy except having to buy an entire album. How can I find out if there is a copy of the song in a single and not an entire album? What I'm looking for is "There You'll Be" by Faith Hill. Thanks so much

I've done that and the only thing that turns up for this song says you have to buy the entire album soundtrack. I would have thought that you could buy just the single song - but certainly can't find it. In the meantime I have bought a song that says "karaoke" and when I play on my computer I can hear the vocal. When I play it in my car, I can only hear the background music. I can't make any sense out of this. When a song says "karaoke" does it mean that it is only the background music? That is what is confusing.

2. One single document with sheets for the time sheets and then a folder of sheets for invoices for each month, which update dynamically using SUMIF functions when the relevant data is present in the time sheets. An applescript could then do batch exporting of all time sheets for a given month. This would entail building a table or populating a table using something like the method you described in your answer to this question:
(a) I apologize but I'm unable to make the difference between the word "sheet" used to name a true sheet and the same word used to name a table.
(b) there is no way to exchange datas between a document and a "folder of sheets" without a script.
As a Numbers document may embed a huge number of sheets able to embed a huge number of tables I guess that you may achieve your goal with a single document.
The idea is :
sheet 1 contains the table(s) with the main datas.
sheet 2 contain tables building the invoices for a given month
sheet 3 contain tables building the invoices for a given month
In each sheet starting from sheet 2, insert a single cell table whose content is the date of the first day of the dedicated month.
It's the contents of this cell which will be used to extract the relevant infos from the main datas.
Advantages : a single document behaving on its own.
Disadvantages : huge document which may behave slowly.
I can't choose for you and I must add that the slow behavior may become a sad remembrance the day we will get the next major iWork update.

New iTunes search help!: I'd like to just start typing in the upper right search and have the list update like it did in older iTunes versions. Now it has little suggestions of WHAT IM NOT LOOKING FOR!

Remember the days when you were looking for that metallica song... you kind of knew the name... so you start typing it in the search, and that BIG WELL of music would whittle down with every character typed? the search covered titles, artists, genres, ANYTHING that was displaying. I know a lot of folks HATED this dynamic, but let's face it, it worked, and it worked WELL. And Apple's had us all get used to that dynamic for over a DECADE.
I get that times need to move foreward, but they went WAYYYYYYY too far with how the simple search box works now(upper right one) ... The columns of Title, Album, Artist, are still there, but they drastically change the layout and presentation with everything you search for... and newsflash, NOT EVERY SONG BELONGS TO A GENRE OR ALBUM OR ARTIST....
I'm the kind of guy that doesnt allow itunes to attempt to copy eveything into hundreds of folders. I already have it all pretty well organized...Lots of my music are soundbytes that I just had in the main widow of iTunes. Sure they'd be buried in the thousands of other songs, but with a click of a key I could get to it... now iTunes ONLY seems to try searching things that are in albums, genres, labeled so specifically that I would have to take a month off JUST to start catalogging my music the way iTunes wants... Even THEN only showing me a small number of choices in the search bar .... like "Do you want these 4 songs you DIDNT search in the invisible queue next?" "Did you mean all this other sh*t that you DIDNT search for?" **** I used to be able to find almost ANY song with like 3 keystrokes. if I type in "Zelda" ... (looking for that obscure live Zelda acoustic I recorded with my phone that I dont have the band name to) It suggests EVERYTHING else BUT that song... whereas before it would just list the 20 or so ANYTHINGS I have loaded into itunes with that string of letters in it.
Anyone else seem to have this issue? Is the OLD easy to search buried in the furthest preference trenches to TRY to weed out old dogs such as myself, who were able to master the crappy UI iTunes has neglected to give a **** about in the past?

Looking for a replacement smartphone for my Treo 755s

Earlier this year, I bought a refurbished Treo 755s, the ebay seller it was new. I bought the Treo 755s to replace my dying Tungsten E2 and thought it would be nice to have my Palm and cell phone together. I have not been happy with this Treo 755s. The past few months, every time I hotsync, it needs to reset. I can not beam wit it. The camera is terrible.
I'm looking for a replacement smartphone. I want something with the nice features of Palm (calendar, contacts, memos, tasks & photo album), a good camera and easy to use phone. I also do not have Windows Outlook. I have Verizon cell phone service.

Looking for an app that combines an equalizer with video out.

I'm looking for an app that has video out (like "Upsize" or the iPod built-in photo slideshow) with an equalizer (preferably like "Denon Audio" or "EQ Pro" so that I can listen to equalized music through my TV. Upsize is close, as it allows for album art to be displayed on my TV while the music plays however, it does not control volume and you must use the iTunes equalizer before you start the app. My TV is the type that will not play audio without an accompanying video signal when using a component cable to connect my iPod to the TV inputs.

Looking for video effects

Hello everyone:
I'm relatively new to Adobe Premiere CS4 (although I have some experience working with digital video). I seemed to have mustered the controls for Premiere itself but what seems to be lacking in my understanding is how to create certain visual effects with it. I'm looking to create a video clip with effects like in this particular video: (Sorry for the link but it's much more easy to show it.)

What I'm looking for is this:
1. The way they have the Id logo expand, shrink and distort in the very beginning.
2. The "broken TV reception", or "TV-snow" effect. Also the effect how they have the picture twitch at some points.
3. The way they implemented titles in the beginning -- "The Union Aerospace Corporation is the largest ..."
I'm not looking for a free solution in particular, so if someone knows some third-party plug-in, or something I can integrate into Adobe Premiere Pro CS4, I'd greatly appreciate it.
I'm not sure if it's Premiere or After Effects, either. So I apologize if I posted it in a wrong forum.

As for the picture jitter, I'm not sure I saw the appropriate effect for it, but I'll keep looking, maybe I missed something... You said there's an effect for that in AE. I don't really know it that well, so I'm curious, is it possible to take a track from PrPro, send it to AE and then back to PrPro (pretty much like with sound track and Soundbooth)?
Depending on the version of PrPro and whether it's one of the full "suites," you can use Adobe Dynamic Link (DL) to quickly move footage into an AE Comp and back again. Each version of what was once called Production Stuido has improved the function of DL.
Now for the jitter, I seem to recall a plug-in, something like "unsteady cam," or similar. It is just the opposite of "stabilization." Do not recall either the official name, or software company, or even if it was part of an Effects "pack."
Speaking of which, I know it's off topic here, but do you know any idea where can I get some sound effects like in that clip? Maybe even some sound bites/background music/anything.

Also the voices in the beginning sound quite machine-like, is there a software I can use to dictate some text in?
Audition, SoundBooth, and several other audio editing programs have similar Effects, and many more can be added, such as Reverb and Delay. There are also some free VST plug-ins that do a similar distortion. This GOOGLE Search has yielded a bunch of sites for VST's. Some free and some for a fee.
Again, thanks for your input, you can't imagine how much time you've just saved me... As for the video I'm making, it's supposed to be a fun one. When I'm done with it (hopefully in a couple of weeks) I'll post a link here.

HT1339 I'm not sure what I did, but my computer asked me what I want the ipod to do, and now it will only look for photos or videos on my device, and will not connect to itunes to download songs and podcasts.

Connect your iPod to the computer (and iTunes) and look on the Device/Music pane, as below:
You need to have Sync Music ticked, as shown.
If you have Entire Music Library checked, then all your music should go back onto yuor iPod.
If you have chosen Selected playlists, artists, albums and genres, you will see additional options for choosing which of those choices you want.
If you make any changes here, you may need to click on the Sync, or Apply, button to make the changes happen.
