Looking for an effect/filter

Hi,
I'm looking for an tutorial or effect like the one in the link below. Don't know under what I should search for.

Thanks

The effect is Echo. It takes a bit of getting used to and footage with an alpha channel seems to work better most of the time.

  • Looking for image effects app

I would like to know what's the best app for adding effects to images, like shaddows, reflections, borders, etc. I tried Pictureesque, but it seems limited. I would like to know if there are any other apps like Pictureesque that do more? I'm looking for a good piece of software for under $50.
    Thanks,

  • Looking for video effects

    Hello everyone:
I'm relatively new to Adobe Premiere CS4 (although I have some experience working with digital video). I seemed to have mustered the controls for Premiere itself but what seems to be lacking in my understanding is how to create certain visual effects with it. I'm looking to create a video clip with effects like in this particular video: (Sorry for the link but it's much more easy to show it.)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePDR3Pza1_g
What I'm looking for is this:
    1. The way they have the Id logo expand, shrink and distort in the very beginning.
    2. The "broken TV reception", or "TV-snow" effect. Also the effect how they have the picture twitch at some points.
    3. The way they implemented titles in the beginning -- "The Union Aerospace Corporation is the largest ..."
I'm not looking for a free solution in particular, so if someone knows some third-party plug-in, or something I can integrate into Adobe Premiere Pro CS4, I'd greatly appreciate it.
I'm not sure if it's Premiere or After Effects, either. So I apologize if I posted it in a wrong forum.
    Thank you in advance.

As for the picture jitter, I'm not sure I saw the appropriate effect for it, but I'll keep looking, maybe I missed something... You said there's an effect for that in AE. I don't really know it that well, so I'm curious, is it possible to take a track from PrPro, send it to AE and then back to PrPro (pretty much like with sound track and Soundbooth)?
Depending on the version of PrPro and whether it's one of the full "suites," you can use Adobe Dynamic Link (DL) to quickly move footage into an AE Comp and back again. Each version of what was once called Production Stuido has improved the function of DL.
Now for the jitter, I seem to recall a plug-in, something like "unsteady cam," or similar. It is just the opposite of "stabilization." Do not recall either the official name, or software company, or even if it was part of an Effects "pack."
Speaking of which, I know it's off topic here, but do you know any idea where can I get some sound effects like in that clip? Maybe even some sound bites/background music/anything.
Not at all OT. Here's a list of SFX and music sites. Some are free, some are for a fee:

    http://www.5alarmmusic.com/
Also the voices in the beginning sound quite machine-like, is there a software I can use to dictate some text in?
Audition, SoundBooth, and several other audio editing programs have similar Effects, and many more can be added, such as Reverb and Delay. There are also some free VST plug-ins that do a similar distortion. This GOOGLE Search has yielded a bunch of sites for VST's. Some free and some for a fee.
Again, thanks for your input, you can't imagine how much time you've just saved me... As for the video I'm making, it's supposed to be a fun one. When I'm done with it (hopefully in a couple of weeks) I'll post a link here.
No problem. If I can track down that shaky-cam/destabilizer plug-in, I'll post a link to it.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Looking for a 'step filter' plugin...

Essentially I'm looking for a step based filter plugin that works in a similar way to Delay Designer, whereby you can define the cutoff/resonance/pan etc within a grid, thus giving complete control over where, when and for how long parts are filtered.
This would be a pretty cool plug I think and I've looked before but not found anything. I like the simplicity of Delay Designer too so I don't want to get lost in features I don't need. Does anyone know of such a thing? I have Reaktor if anyone knows any user files, but I always find it a bit complex and painful. Otherwise I'm prepared to pay for something if it's decent.
    Cheers

This has a 128 step sequencer for filtering and panning:
    http://www.camelaudio.com/camelspace.php
Also the Ensemble "Vierring" in your Reaktor factory Library has fantastic filtering features as each of the 4 filter bands can be linked to it's own step sequencer plus many FX options.

  • Looking for an effect that I thought was in Audition, or maybe I am just crazy haha

For whatever reason I cannot find this effect (then again like I said, maybe I am just crazy because I might have seen it someplace else). Anyway, it is the effect that makes your audio come to a stop like it is playing on a turntable (losing power quickly). It sort of fades out while slowing down the audio.
I looked through the effects and didn't find it and I could of sworn I have seen it before. I tried recreating the effect from the FTT filters options but it just didn't sound quite right. If anyone could help me it would be greatly appreciated.

Effects / Time & Pitch / Pitch Bender / 'turntable losing power' preset
It is a really cool preset it is!
Only works in Edit mote, quite naturally.
(This doesn't mean your not crazy after all)

  • Looking for video effect...

    Hi All,
I'm looking for a particular effect. I'm sure it's not available as a plugin.. I may have to look for an independent application, but if you have any ideas:
I'm looking for something which will create a particular image, and on closer inspection, and at closer range, it's composed of many very small images. Ideally, I'd be able to animate it. Any one have any idea how to apporach this?
    THANKS

This can be done to a limited extent in most graphics animation applications. Theoretically you could do it in FCE but it would be an enormous amount of work. Basically you do it the way you describe it. Get lots and lots of images of the right shade and tone and stack them in sequences and multiple sequences within them till you make up the image you want.
One significant issue is the limited ability of the DV format to have sufficiently good resolution to be able to make this without turn the scaled images to mush.

  • Looking for simple waveform filter

I am using E series board using single ended input to collect 16 channels of constant value data, (ie 10volts). The data has a small amount of noise and outlying data points which I need to remove. I am attempting to implement a simple low pass filter. I attempted the Buterworth and FIR filters. The code I have attempted based upon the help examples unbundles the waveforms, filters the data, and rebundles the waveforms. This produces a discontinuous waveform when ploted. Addtionally the filtered data looks like a sine wave with an amplitude ranging between zero and the bias of the constant input data dependent upon the input parameters fo the filter. I'm looking for an example code that filters a constant signal with outlying da
ta points and small amount of noise. I cannnot use a average because the outlers are all on one side of the average value and will bias my data.
    Thanks for the assistnance

    Brian,
Can you try a running average using shift registers? With this, if the latest point is over x% outside of the running average, then do not include it. Since your signal is "constant," then frequency filters will probably not help you. See the attached example in LabVIEW 6.0.2. The interesting part of this example is that you need to know what your expected value is. If this is unknown, then one must do a bit of statistics (probably through histogramming) to get an initial average value.

  • Looking for FCE Video Filter - "Old Movie"

I'm creating a movie where I would like to have the footage look "old"; where the film may be scratched or discolored, maybe even some dropped frames, etc...
I went through all of the video filters on FCE and didn't see anything that got me this effect. (unless I overlooked something or have to use Sepia + ?)
Any recommendations on how to accomplish this?
    Thanks for the help!
    Power Mac G4   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

It is in the QuickTime filters which you access via :-
    File>Export Using QT Conversion>Options>Filter>Special Effects.
There you will find a number of effects including the old film look, which you can customise with hairs, scratches, dust and film fading.

  • Looking for that effect that vibrates/shakes your image inside the frame

Do you know where I can find that? It's a pretty common effect, that basically vibrates the centering of your image, probably inside a matted frame for a very shaky look. An example of what I'm talking about can be seen in Fincher's Fight Club during the Tyler Durden's Close-Up monologue "You're not your ******' khakis".
I've perused all FCP's visual effects and can't locate anything, but hopefully I'm missing it. Or maybe there's a free plugin that someone knows about. help appreciated.

You must have not looked too hard; there several 'jiggle' filters available. AmaFX has a 'Jump' and 'Vibrate', Eureka has 'Jiggle', Rainer has 'Wiggle', RiverRock Studios has 'Jitterbug' and there are probably more.

  • Looking for Ad Hoc Filter of Tasks in Resource Graphs

I have a project with several tasks that are "optional" I would like the ability to filter out some tasks from the resource graph to examine the impact on resourcing.  After a couple of days of looking, I've come up dry.   Is there
a way to filter the resource graph against a task column?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
You could inactivate the tasks. Just right click on the task and select "inactivate task". The task will remain in the project plan greyed out and will not be considered anymore. It also can be done with the "active" column set to yes
    by default.

I need two effects for a couple of songs I'm finishing up. Can't find them in G/B

    Regarding 1)
    Really?
    I'd like to hear one.
Have gone through "All Drums" and all effects in "FX" in Loop Browser.
    Not one rim shot.
Lots of single snare drum shots to find, but I cannot find a rim shot (stick literally on the metal rim of the drum)  anywhere. Like used in a count-off.
Don't know what the "C#1 key does or how to use it.
