Looking for an ipad tutor for my father located in Boynton Beach Area.

My dad is in a convalesent home in Boynton Beach. I need a tutor that will help him learn to use some of the ipad features. Skype and email for example. He would like to be in touch with his family who are located all around the country. He is fairlt sharp and is very interested in learning.

Local classified adds or yellow pages (or even an Apple Store) might be a better source of information.

Amazon has them at reasonable prices.   Select electronics, and type in: iPod 1st generation covers and cases.

  • What happens if I don't use my Verizon data plan for my iPad 2 for a lengthy period?

    I have a 64GB iPad 2 +3G. I have a Verizon data plan. $20 for 1GB a month.
What if I cancel the automatic renewal for more than 60 days? Will that permanently disable my 3G capability on the iPad? Or will I be allowed to resume service when I am ready? Thanks!

Depends on your contract if any, you will resume service when you are ready, but give your service provider a call will be the best.

  • Is it possible to purchase cellular service while traveling in Japan for an Ipad Air?

I am traveling to Japan and would like to know if it is possible to purchase cell service for my Ipad Air for several weeks?  What are the possible cell providers?

I would rather look into renting a MiFi device. It's a small, portable WiFi router connected to a cellular carrier. The advantage is that you can connect up to 5 devices (usually). I've done this when traveling to countries other than Japan and it worked exceptionally well for me.
I did a quick Google search for "rent mifi japan" and came up with several options.

  • I also have a Belkin charger for my Ipad which worked for months. Now I get the unauthorized message but Apple sells these at its store.  What is the problem?

My Belkin charger for my Ipad worked for months.  Suddenly, I get the "unauthorized" message. Apple even sells this brand so does anyone have a solution?

A charger/power adaptor or USB cable?
The iPhone doesn't require a USB cable made by Apple but the cable must be compatible and preferably include the "made for iPhone" Apple certification by the manufacturer.

  • Is there an ADE for the ipad?

Is there an ADE for the IPAD?

Yep, two of the most popular apps are "LogMeIn Ignition" and "iTeleport." Check them out, they'll both set you back by about 30$ though.

  • After not using my iPad 3G for a month, I tried to charge it with no success

After not using my iPad 3G for over a month, I turned it on and saw that the battery icon showed a red band and that it needed to be recharged. I plugged in the 10w charger and the battery icon has not shown any progress after 3 hours on the charger. Is it my battery or do I need to be more patient?

The battery symbol will change when it is connected properly.  It will not show the percentage, but a sideways lightening bolt indicating charging.
I tried to charge my new iPad using my PC, because this worked OK for my iPhone, but I now realize PCs do not have adequate wattage to charge the iPad.
Are you certain this is the original charger?
Many wall chargers do not have the wattage intended for the iPad, only for the iPhone.

  • Use free iPod Touch discount for an iPad

    Hello,
I would buy a MacBook Pro for college and I saw I can get a free iPod Touch 8GB.
It cost $199, can I use this discount for an iPad or an iPhone?
    Thanks
    Julien

Sounds like you are outside the US. Perhaps better you check this page for the right number to call.

  • Hi, we are a small clinic that uses the iPads for therapy. If we purchase an app for one iPad, can all of them download the same app at no additional cost?

Hi, we are a small clinic that uses the iPads for therapy. If we purchase an app for one iPad, can all of them download the same app at no additional cost?

Allan was somewhat incomplete in his statement. While technically it would be possible, from a licensing standpoint you need one license for each iPad unless those iPads were all going to be used by the same person (which I think unlikely given your described use). Here are the relevant terms of the iTunes Store agreement (emphasis mine):
"(ii) If you are a commercial enterprise or educational institution, you may download and sync an App Store Product for use by either (a) a single individual on one or more iOS Devices used by that individual that you own or control or (b) multiple individuals, on a single shared iOS Device you own or control. For example, a single employee may use an App Store Product on both the employee's iPhone and iPad, or multiple students may serially use an App Store Product on a single iPad located at a resource center or library. For the sake of clarity, each iOS Device used serially by multiple users requires a separate license."
So you would legally need to purchase one copy of the app for each iPad, something which would require an iTunes Store account for each iPad. For normal purchases, each iTunes Store account would need an associated credit card or prepaid iTunes card.
The Volume Purchase Plan works similarly - you still need one license and one iTunes Store account for each iPad - but the purchasing is centralized so you don't get billed multiple times. You get one recemption code for each license you purchase. See:

  • What antivirus protection do I need for the iPad?

I am seeing some unusual activity after receiving an email.  What antivirus protection should we be considering for the ipad2?

None - there are no viruses for the iPad (or iPhone or iPod Touch), and therefore there are no antivirus apps available in the iTunes App Store

  • My kind of case/sleeve for my iPad 2

I just want to share this with you...
I bought the following nifty leather sleeve for my iPad 2 for € 50.
For once something that is not made in China or Japan or Malaysia or Korea or USA - no, it's made in Turkey.
    http://www.trexta.com/Default.aspx?pageID=18&PID=540&CatID=250
That plastic stopper is very soft on my sleeve and has a half-moon cutout in the middle to allow access to the home button.
Notice that their images shown are slightly different.
Also note that the whole of the inside of the leather strap is made of Velcro so that the sleeve can be folded to any angle.
This is important, because not everyone is comfortable with the fixed angles of most covers, cases and/or folios, which will also enable accurate ajustment to avoid irritating reflections from surrounding light sources on the iPad's screen.

If you want a transparent hard case, you have limited yourself to the hard clear plastic ones. They will add weight and size to the iPhone - no way around this.
As for your want of a screen protector too, keep in mind that the iPhone screen is glass. It is not plastic like many cell phones or touch screens that use a stylus. It is almost impossible to scratch. The overlay protectors really only help with smudges. Pressure on the screen will not cause it to select unless it is your finger touching it. That is why you can't use the iPhone while wearing gloves.
Just some things to keep in mind.

  • How can I download game of strong hold legends and miss adventures of Ed eddn eddy  free for my iPad 3

Hey guys please help me if any one can help me he have ho make this game for my iPad 2 for free
The game is miss adventures of Ed eddn eddy
    And strong hold legends

I'm not entirely sure what you are asking, but if those apps are in your country's app store (the app store is the only place to download games and other apps for iOS devices) and they are compatible with iPads then you should be able to download them - if they aren't free to download then you will need to pay to download them.

  • Where is the weather app for the iPad?

Just bought an iPad. I have an iPhone, that has a weather app the phone came with. Is there one for the iPad?

Apple doesn't provide one but there are a bunch available at the App store.

  • Does apple recommend a screen protector for the iPad 4?

Does Apple recommend a screen protector for the iPad with a retina screen?

Apple's recommendations are usually hardware and software related. How to charge the battery, the benefits of backing up, transferring purchases, and things like that.
I have never seen Apple officially recommend any third party accessory and I doubt that they ever will do so. Using a screen protector is up to the individual. I have always used a screen protector of some type on all of my iDevices. I have somewhat oily skin and I would rather trash and have to clean a screen protector than have to keep up with cleaning the glass.
I have an iPad 3 and I have it encased in an OtterBox Defender case with a built in screen protector. My iPad 3 is in pristine condition - screen and back. My OtterBox Defender has taken quite a beating however, and I prefer that the case take the abuse and not the iPad!
