Looking for app to store account numbers in that syncs with iphone and mac

Hi all, I have tons of random work information, account info, logins, etc., that I would like to keep on my mac and sync to my iphone. But I would like to have them protected in some fashion.
Anyone have any recommendations?

I recently purchased the mSecure app for the same purpose but cannot get it to sync with the desktop version via wifi as it is supposed to do. Support response from mSecure has been good but still no luck syncing. All of these types of apps require syncing via wi-fi but not much good if it doesn't work. I've tried all of the suggested work-arounds to no avail. Any suggestions would be welcome. I'm trying to sync to a Windows laptop. I'm reluctant to use the same type of apps that back up to an online storage site for security purposes.

Documents to Go Desktop App will not sync with iPhone and iPad

This used to work perfectly and now, it just stopped being able to sync. The desktop shows that my devices are disconnected? I've uninstalled and reinstalled and the desktop app won't recognize any devices. Any ideas?? I'm using Windows 7 PC and syncing to iPhone 4 and iPad. hanks.

This user tip might help you understand how accounts work with Address Book.
First check that all your settings are correct, that contact syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the contacts you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' group and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud group (you can do this by checking in groups), non iCloud contacts will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your contacts are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking contact syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling contact syncing.

Thanks for the visual! on my iPhone under Accounts it has my email like your line 2 above with the secondary line 'Mail, Contacts, Calendars and 7 more...'. In the Setings menu under General I have iCloud that has all the buttons turned on for Mail Contacts, Calendars. On my MacBook in System Preferences for Internet and Wireless, Mail, Contacts and Calendars is the iCloud account. There is also iCloud in the same folder as the blue @ sign.
I should explain that I had two mobileme accounts on these devices before switching to iCloud. The first email was a 'family' email noend_er and it was the initial email that I set up iTunes with many years ago then a couple of years ago I set up my own email account with my iPhone and MacBook. I have an Apple guru friend who helped me create my own iTunes on my MacBook and iPhone using my own email account. We cleaned up, to the best, of our knowledge the inconsistency with the two accounts.

iCloud for email is not on my Mac. It should be under Internet and wireless in System Preferences but it is not. I too was a mobileme user and have just migrated to iCloud on mackbook pro w/OS 10.7.4. Transition caused my sent mailboxes to rearrange themselves so that I have no comprehensive 'sent' mailbox as I did previously and the view on both incoming and outgoing mailboxes keeps rearranging itself no matter how many times I set preferences. One result is that search function no longer works. Is anyone else having problems like this? All was fine for a week after transition but after having an evening when my password was repeatedly rejected I had to log in and out of iCloud (as directed by tech support) and w/in an hour or so the mailbox problem began.

Mountain Lion put my new contact into the "ON MY MAC" account. It did not sync with my iPhone because it's not in my iCloud account.

Is there a way to totally get rid of the ON MY MAC contacts, and just have ONE account that syncs? Without me having to check and double check my contacts all the time?

Sorry about the rant and the attitude, but it's really frustrating to lose a potential client to something this basic.
I also have a Dot Mac account that then became Mobile Me and now I'm not sure what it is, but I had to create an iCloud account (and a new iCloud email address) just to make my Notes sync up. So I don't know if all that is exacerbating the problem or not.
But ONE Contacts account that syncs reliably without me having to police it constantly would be nice.

Have you set the iCloud account as the default account yet? Sounds like you have not.
Contacts>Preferences>General. Choose the account you want new contacts to be in and select it.

Datacase uses wifi to send files from the PC to my phone. Is there an app that just uses the cable? A wifi link is no problem for home use but I have no wifi at work. What if I have work files that I need dumped onto the phone?

Suddenly apps in store give me a choice only of iPhone and iPad

I would like to select apps for my Touch, but not music Right now I am seeking only reference works. For instance, not long ago I was able to get the complete works of Shakespeare. Now, at the store, I am given a choice of either iPhone or IPad apps. I have neither of these, and cannot afford to get them. It seems to me that if I can get all Shakespeare's works I should at least have a choice of large, unchanging documents that require no frequent updates.

The iTunes Store lists only those two choices since almost everything that can run on an iPhone can run on an iPod touch. So just click on "iPhone" when you're browsing the iTunes Store. The compatibility with the iPod touch should be listed in the Requirements for any app you look at.

Any recommendations on productivity for database and project management, Bento was good but no longer sync with ical and address book

I've unfortunately updated to the new Bento on MakBook and iPad and synced my data and in the process it tells me that iCal and Address books will not sync any more. I have several projects I am working on and looking for something that will syn with iCal, address book and Busy Cal to manage my time efficiently and seamlessly. Help?

I think you're in the wrong forum - this is for developers, who write programs for apple products.
As for Bento, their problem is due to Apple's changes in the API. The code that syncs with calendars and contacts is now deprecated, which means at some point in the future, it will no longer work. This problem will affect all developers, so you probably won't find any replacement for Bento.

Recommendations for a phone that will sync with iCal and Addressbook?

I'm confused by the posts regarding what mobile phones will and won't sync with iCal and Addressbook. Apple has a list of isync compatible devices (http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/isync/devices.html), but it seems from some of the posts here as though phones not listed will also sync.
Can those of you who know about cellular phones that sync with iCal and Addressbook please recommend some models for me. These are the things I need:
-Cingular service compatibility
-syncs with iCal (including to dos) and Addressbook (must store at least 1500 entries)
-bluetooth
-a small phone would be nice
I don't care whether it has a camera, an mp3player, PTT, picture messaging, video, or voice activation. Wi-Fi would be nice, but it's not imperative. Also, please let me know if I would need to purchase any third-party software or hardware.

Others have built single-use plug ins with various degrees of success, which you can find using tools like Google.
The bottom line: if you are going to vary from the iSync Supported Device list, you have to do some relatively extensive research, including searching these forums for your specific device, to determine if it can be supported. Many plug-ins are intended only to work with iSync 2.2, so Mac OS X 10.4.6 is a requirement in most cases.

My husband and I are using the same iTunes account on all mac & pc computers, but the libraries are different on each machine. We always manually manage our music (no auto sync). iTunes is up to date on the PCs. My husband uses our joint iTunes account on his pc, but once again, has a different collection in his library from those on the other machines. He can't load any music from his PC to his iphone 4. I can load music from my mac library to my iphone 4s, but cannot load from my pc library to my iphone 4s. How can I switch my main library that it syncs with from the mac to the pc?

I am looking for software to store photos with. I am not a fancy photographer, and really am just looking for the digital version of a photo album. iPhoto is not cutting it, mainly because it does not back up and restore easily on an external HD.

That's how Time Machine and iPhoto now work. Restore the library to one of the external HDs, check it for the photos you want, export them to the boot drive and delete the restored library.
If you know the file name of the photo you're looking for you can search for them in the TM backup using Find Any File.
My workflow allows me to do that:
1 - upload new photos to a folder on the Desktop.
2 - name the folder to represent the contents and date: 01/03/10-Toads Bday
3 - use a file renaming app to sequentially rename the photos in the folder to: 2010-01-03-Toads Bday-001.JPG, -002,JPG, -003.JPG, etc.
4 - import the folder into iPhoto creating an Event with the same title as the folder.
Now I can search for those file by file name with any app of my choosing.
