I NEED to use icloud mail on both iPhone 4s AND my PC. I need to use both.
Trying to use icloud mail on PC is mega glitchy (STOP SCRIPT WARNINGS EVERY FEW MINUTES) and frustrating because:
1. my PC is ancient (but nicely refurbished/fast)
2. I run XP (with both Firefox and Chrome- newest versions)
3. thusly, I DO NOT MEET SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS for iCloud.
In my passed attempts I found that
1. Yahoo doesn't work well on iPhone
2. Gmail doesnt work well on iPhone.
I must be missing something... an app or... maybe a donated/ NEW FREE MAC! (That would be sweet! Ha.)
Is there an email platform that will run well on both XP and iPhone?
or... Please say it isn't true: I would love a Mac tablet or desktop. We have no money for a mac. SOL? Is this iCloud apple tech only for wealthy middle class and above who can afford to have the newest and best of everything?

@Naiks, having suffered through unsuccessful synching attempts for Calendar and Contacts myself, l would suggest you try the following:
UNINSTALL iCloud control panel from your PC. Seems silly, but do it.
Go into Outlook, and look at the very top menu. Click FILE, then ACCOUNT SETTINGS, then click the popup box.
You will see a list of all your email accounts. Make sure that ONE of them has a checkmark against it. If not, select the account your want as your default, and click "set as default.
Exit out of Outlook and reboot your machine.
Now reinstall iCloud, check CALENDAR and CONTACTS, and do as instructed when prompted.
Reboot for good luck and now launch OUTLOOK. All that remains is to locate your iCloud Contacts and Calendar files, and make them your default.
IMPORTANT: Don't panic if you can't find your contacts -- they're there. Click CONTACTS and you'll see you have several available contact files. Locate the one label "iCloud" in grey type. Right-click on it, select PROPERTIES, then click the Outlook Address Book tab. Check the box that says something like "Make this my default Outlook Address Book." Keep clicking "apply" and "okay" until you've exited out of the dialog box maze.
You may have to do something similar with your Calendar files. I dd not, but if you need to, do it.
Everything should now sync pretty seamlessly.
I didn't have the exact same problem as you, but my dilemma was close enough. Good luck!

What you describe can be set up with a non-printing button. A button can be set up to have any size and appearance you want. In the Mouse Up event of the button you can use something like the following:

Looking for a help to verify a sudo command that will hopefully lower my latency.

im still learning how to get around Terminal on my own. i dont want to just own my mac, and i want to really know how use it and also play some online games on it.
im currently trying to figure out a way to lower my latency. and searching around the net, i found this terminal command:
"sudo sysctl -w net.inet.tcp.delayed_ack=0". description of the command stated that it deplayed 'acknowledgements' until i restart my mac.
im guessing the delaying the acknowledgements would be like opening a window, lowering my own security? and the command itself just allows traffic to flow better, in turn lowering the ping.

If there was a magic knob that you could turn on (or turn off) to make all this networking stuff work better (for whatever local definition of "better" applies) in the generic case, then somebody would have already turned the knob over a decade ago.
If you want to learn how this TCP stuff works (and particularly how delayed acks and a common congestion-processing algorithm collide), please read this write-up on TCP Performance problems caused by interaction between Nagle's Algorithm and Delayed ACK (the author of that is Stuart Cheshire, also known for Bonjour), and also read Jim Getty's series on TCP buffering, bufferbloat and related for discussions of networking topics including how buffers can degrade aggregate performance.
This particular delayed Ack knob is completely unrelated to security.

Schedule Executed weekly except for a specific day of the month

I need to create a schedule that run weekly every sunday at 9 PM, except for 2nd day of the month it will run at 7 AM.
I have created 2 schedules:
1. One to run weekly every sunday at 9 PM, but i don't know from where i can specify the days of the month the schedule will be inactive on it.
* I have tried By Month Day option, and choose all days of the month except second day of the month to run on it.
FREQ=WEEKLY; BYMONTHDAY=1,3,4,5,..,31; BYDAY= SUN; BYHOUR=21;
But, on the schedule preview window as i have designed the schedule from oracle warehouse builder, shows sunday, 02, July for example.
as an execution date for this schedule.

2. Another job is created to run monthly on the 2nd day of the month,

You can use the exclude clause introduced in 10gR2 for this by creating a schedule when your job should not run and excluding it. An example is given below.

Have I missed something? But how do you set a reminder for the last day of every month to recurr indefinatley in iOS6? Sorry if this is really simple but I just can't seem to work it out. Any help gratefully received.

Hey Mattye88 not sure if you have seen but actully you can do this, but for some reason you have to use Siri. If you bring up Siri and say "set a reminder ever 4 weeks from next wednesday to check the gas meter" it will set one and it will work just fine, I have reminders to water a Bonsai every three days and it works fine it just shows as custom repeat on the user interface. Alas it seems you can not use Siri to set one for the end of the month though which is why I am in this threed. Still hope it helps you to know how to sort this problem atleast.

You can do this using the custom repeat in iCal. You'll need two events to cover the second and fourth Mondays.
Create the event on the second Monday of the month. In Repeat select Custom... > Frequency: Monthly > On the: second Monday.
Do the same for the Fourth Monday.

I don't know how you would feel about the quality, because I have never actually used one, but there is usualy a free 7 day trial of Video Blocks and they have 100 virtual sets available. You can download as many as 20 per day with the trial. So you have enough time in a week to get them all. But don't forget to check out the music section for your news intro. And some lower thirds.

That's definitely strange, kzmidge. I want a working phone in your hands though. I noticed you mentioned you received the suggestion to complete a reset. Did you already do that? Is it working again? Are you receiving an error message?
If you hesitated a little longer to complete the reset, you can try to place your phone into Safe Mode http://vz.to/rxg0ii and see if you can access mobile sites from your browser. This mode will stop 3rd party applications from running, so you won't be able to use the apps you mentioned but we may be able to narrow down the trouble in Safe Mode. If the mobile sites work, that means the trouble may be in a recently downloaded application and you may be able to avoid the reset my uninstalling some of your more recently installed applications. If it's still giving you trouble, the reset http://vz.to/18wzOCi is the next best step.
