Looking for Custom BIOS for Laptop MSI GE70 Apache Pro 061 Win 8.1 64

I installed two G Skill Ripjaws 8GB 2133 Mhz Ram chips into my Apache Pro laptop. The speeds only show up as 1000 Mhz. I am trying to get a custom BIOS so I can make the necessary changes to that will allow my memory to run up to speed. Can anyone out there help me out with this? Thanks.

Thanks, Nichrome. However, the price difference between 1600 Mhz and 2133 Mhz was not much at all. I've future proofed myself if I decide to upgrade the CPU or even get a better laptop down the road. These ram sticks should at least be backwards compatible to 1600 Mhz, but still I'm not able to make it run at that speed. I'm still going to need a custom BIOS to make those changes. I appreciate the reponse, nonetheless.

MSI GE70 Apache Pro death pixels!!!

Hi I found on my 6 months old laptop a death pixel plus 2 gray pixels.. I try some fix for that but nothing happened.. I read MSI policy about that but in this is only saying for TFT technology.. But GE70 have LED technology so I want to know how much death or any others pixel I need have for repair under the warranty.. Thanks for reply :-)

I think the rule is the same, but you can check with MSI.

MSi GE70 Apache Pro w/ nVidia GeForce GTX 860M Graphics Issues

Hi there,
I recently purchased an MSi gaming notebook with nVidia GTX 860M graphics. However, just recently I've been having game-breaking issues with textures rendering, artifacts and particles as well as the drivers crashing now and again(desktop flashing and flickering).
I've only had this laptop for just over two months and am quite disappointed with issues coming up already.
To get to the specifics; I have recently been playing through the Mass Effect trilogy and, just the other day, started up a file in Skyrim. The following screenshots show my biggest issues aside from the obviously serious driver crashing issues. I believe the issues started maybe a month into owning this laptop and since it has been getting progressively worse. I feel as though I have been all over the internet trying to find a fix to this, I've tried everything suggested, everything that I could think of, and I am just about ready to have it sent back. I was hoping someone may have some other options before I do send it in.

On the title screen for Mass Effect 3 I get these consistent blue and red glowing orbs, they also occur on several other maps within gameplay.

Once I get in-game, this occurs everywhere. Textures "expanding" off of characters into random points.

This happens occassionally on characters; ridiculously shadowed faces to the point where they are barely recognisable.

On almost all wall textures there are white glowing particles like the ones behind the character here. In extreme cases, the wall becomes a texture of textures. All of the textures in the game are miniaturized into a wall of textures on certain objects.
I've also had signs and the game's menus and interface stretched and skewed all over the place. If I continue to play it with the above issues, the game eventually hangs and I have to alt+tab out and back in, or close it using the task manager. All of these issues also occur in Skyrim and any game using the same, or similar, engines. The only game I have been able to play almost seamlessly without any issues is Ragnarok Online 2, an online MMORPG.
I have tried the following:
nVidia's GeForce Control Panel: any and all combination of options.
Re-installing video drivers.
Re-installing DirectX and PhysX.
Formatting and a fresh install of Windows and all games and drivers.
Any other troubleshooting other forums have provided.
Removing the pagefile for virtual memory limits.
Using Intel HD graphics to test for other issues.
PC/nVidia power settings.
The one time I thought it may be fixed, all it took was me plugging in my laptop to cause the issues all over again. I've tried downloading MSi Afterburner to check GPU temperatures and I rarely even go over 65~70. I'm absolutely out of ideas. It was suggested to me by a family member that it may be a hardware issue, hence the consideration for sending it in.

It wouldn't be a hardware issue since you can play other games without problem.
Easiest way to tell if it's a hardware issue or not is to run the benchmark tool for example 3DMark 11 and see if the problem also happens during the benchmark.
For the rendering problem you were talking, please provide not only the problem picture but also the picture without problem to let us make the comparison.
I'm sorry to say, but some of the picture I'm not really getting what the problem you're talking about.

MSI GE70 Apache Pro 0-61 msata SSD

Hello guyz,
I have recently ordered the above mentioned MSI laptop. As it does not come with an ssd. So i thought of adding one to it. After searching google i found that an msata ssd can be added to this model. I wanted to confirm here on the official msi forum. I am thinking of buying a Samsung Evo 840 msata ssd 250gb for this upgrade. Can you please confirm will this ssd be compatible with this laptop model ? and is it ok if i install a new OS (windows 8.1) on the new ssd for booting purpose and not deleting the old OS. Lastly please do confirm if the laptop has an extra msata ssd slot . As i have still not received the laptop so thought of ordering an msata to use it with. Waiting for your replies Thankyou

The GE70 should come with 2 mSATA sockets (I believe), assuming that there is none installed already.
Yes, the Samsung 840 EVO should work fine. (95% sure about that)
I would use the MSI Burn Recovery disks that you NEED TO MAKE when you first setup your notebook (I HIGHLY SUGGEST MAKING THESE) to reinstall Windows onto the SSD. I would remove your OLD HDD and install the SSD and then use those recovery disks to install the OS.

Msi GE70 Apache Pro average tempature?

I just bought this laptop the other day, ( it was a display model). I love love msi laptops they are amazing!
I Just have a question, what average temperatures should I be getting with this thing?
I have the turbo fan on and I get up to about 80-90 C on my cpu temperature just streaming twitch, Is this too hot?4
I'm posting this while downloading a game, streaming spotify and some other stuff, I have the turbo fan on and it's at 65-70 C

Don't worry about the temperature, they're quiet normal.
The temperature is depending on the loading of the CPU or the GPU.
For the streaming tools, it actually takes quiet bigger loading of the CPU. (The minimum system requirement for a 1080p video on the XSplit gamecaster will take an i7 CPU)
If you're multi-tasking with downloading games, streaming spotify and opening several tabs at the same time, temperature 65 to 70 degree is quiet normal.

I an having problems with my audio, there is a crackling noise every 5-10 seconds. It has been doing it since i have got the laptop 3 weeks ago. Does any one know how to fix this? I would appreciate if you could help, Thanks.

Ive just got a MSI GE70 -Apache Pro w7 but if i cant play battlefield 4 multiplayer without frame drops if i set the settings on medium and it drops down to 29 fps with micro lags i think it uses the Intel graphics instead oft the GTX 860 but how can i change that ive Seen people playing on ultra with this GPU.

start up your game bf4 tell me if your power button is orange when game is runing if so then nvidia is active if not it will be blue which means intel

Hello, i attempted to perform a BIOS flash with the MSIHQ tool that indicated that it was a successful flash but it still showed the current/previous E1762IG6.70O rather than the E1762IMS.10U (advised to use from Devil Tech for the GT70 0NE i have a GTX 675MX 2GB) what BIOS is compatible with my machine or do you guys recommend a custom BIOS? Custom BIOS for GE60 2oc

Hello!
I would like to request a custom bios for my laptop (MSI GE-60 2oc).
I have had problems with low CPU utilization after updating the embedded controller with official MSI firmware update. At the same time I was supposed to update the BIOS, but I couldn't, using the official driver found on MSI download center, since my system told me it's not the right version.
I wanted to try this new approach as a new bios might help, I figured. I can't find any downgrading for the embedded controller. Would a custom bios be good thing for me or am I doing this all wrong?
Current bios: E16GCIMS.509
EC firmware installed: 16GCEMS1.506
The BIOS update that did not work: E16GCIMS.611

I know got my current version of BIOS and EC by MSI support so I will experiment with them. Downgrading to EC v. 5.00 helped I think. I have started to meassure now and the thing is that my GPU seems to have a real low core clock. The GT750m is marketed as 967 mhz but GPU shark and 3DMark 11 shows that I have 405 mhz. When playing Starcraft 2 I get real low FPS considering the settings (25 fps while playing medium quality and 1080p res.) hard to find comparing stats on the net. When meassuring with 3Dmark 11 I get a 2800 score which is comparable to other machines like mine.

MSI GE60 Apache Pro - GPU issues....

Hello All,
So, I just purchased a MSI GE60 Apache Pro and guess what, the GPU is faulty. I'm seeing artifacts (horizontal black lines) whenever I use the PC.
I've already done the usual stuff, updated the drivers and so on.. Already contacted the MSI for RMA however, the reply is awfuly slow and they told me that the process will take at least 3 weeks. Great....
Any useful tips that may help to solve this or should just wait for this slow RMA process? :(

This was the best way to show the problem. Please, check carefully at the following secs: 17s and 51s. There is a flickering following with the horizontal black lines. I just added some notes to the video to help.

Custom bios for MSI GE70 2OC

Hello
I have a MSI GE70 2OC with Windows 8.
My BIOS is E1757IMS.511 build 08/27/2013, EC Version is 1757EMS1 Ver. 5.06, build 07/30/2013.
I saw in another topic that in modified bios FAN behaviour can be changed? I really don't like that FAN is always on when on AC power.
What else can be changed or what hidden functions has my BIOS?

yes its possible to be done by custom way, but not from BIOS
