Looking for Duplicate Contacts

When Looking for Duplicate Contacts, I am getting an error message that my applications are out of space; and then have to force quit Contacts.
I have never received this message before.  I have plenty of hard drive space available on my iMac.

What is the exact, complete text of the warning message?

  • How to look for duplicate process instances?

In Oracle BPM 11g, is there a good way to look for duplicate process instances based on process data attributes? For example, I have entered an instance of a process for 'John Smith' with a date of '4/1/2010' and I want to see if there is another instance in the same process with these same data values to evaluate as a potential duplicate. I believe we can write a java service to invoke the API to do this, but I am wondering if there is a better way within the process design to do this (XPath extension functions or soemthing?). It seems like this would be a common need.

I am really looking for an approach to looking for duplicate instances within my process flow, not from EM. So, if the user starts a new instance of a process, I can check for another instance that appears to be a duplicate and direct the flow to a human activity to review the potential duplicate and make a decision as to whether to continue processing the new instance or reject it. My guess is that we need to us a service task to invoke java code which uses the API to investigate other instances with the same values. But, I was hoping for a simpler solution....I have to think that this is not too uncommon.

  • Look for duplicates fails

From various merges I have done, i have about a thousand(s) duplicates in my address book that I am trying to zap. When I run the look for duplicates feature, it searches for a while but eventually the whole thing crashes. I've tried about 20 different times to run it.
    Any advice?
    Much appreciated.

    Hello Caryn:
The only thing I can think of that might work is to trash a couple of preference files and restart:
    com.apple.addressbook.plist
    com.apple.addressbook.abd.plist

My Mac Book Pro Address Book has multiple addresses for the same person from syncing before I cloud. When I try to "look for duplicates" it returns "no duplicates found" why does that happen? How can I correct it?

  • FCP editor looking for network contact info.

I want to know who the HD players are and how to get in contact with them. Where is this information? Website or a book? For example, MTV Networks is an umbrella: Spike, Comedy Central, Nic, CMT are all under this umbrella. I can start at the top and contact MTV Networks and be directed to the above individual departments and take it from there… so I would like to know who are the big HD umbrellas, and for that matter, who are the non HD umbrellas are. I know ESPN doesn’t accept proposals on original content. Bummer. Anyway, I’m an indie producer/director/shooter/editor blah-blah-blah, however, I would love to make all of that blah-blah find its way onto TV. Who can I get in contact with to find out who and what they might want produced (reality, docs, sports, human interest etc). I'd like to start at the top and work my way down instead of having my attempts splintered and going in circles or overlapping. Who are the Pay Per View people? I feel like I’m all dressed up and no way to go. I need some outlets. It's frustrating because It would seem like the process would be easier. Do some googling, call them and get directed. It's not very simple though. Finding the numbers alone is challenging, then trying to get directed to the right dept is a circus (my phone bill will be high this go-around) A lot of the time, when I get a receptionist or operator of sorts, they have no idea who I need to talk with. I have a handful of pilots in various stages of production; I'd like to start testing the waters. I believe that persistence is the key, however, any information will be sincerely appreciated. Really.
    Kind regards,

It isn't that simple. It is so complex that many people who work in the industry for years don't know how to approach this system.
It isn't as simple as knowing the numbers of the big places. There are so many layers to companies and what it takes to get a show pitched that it is maddening. More layers than an onion. And you have to know how to work a pitch session, who to call for the pitch session. It isn't as easy as knowing the phone number of Spike TV and asking for the head of development (those are the among the first few layers of people you will be approaching)...no. You have to have an agent or someone who knows who to get in touch with to set up the meeting. Finding people to find out who to contact is also a trick.
This is why some people take YEARS before they get just a meeting! The "Hollywood" engine is just so friggin complex. I understand just the basics of how things are done, from converstations I hear my producers having. Plus people I know trying to pitch ideas. They have to hire representation to get the meetings. So much wining and dining.
No, there isn't a book or internet resource that has this info. They shield themselves from the masses. It is an elaborate game.
This is why I am a hired gun. A freelance editor. I just know the producers who make the shows, and go "hire me, I edit cool stuff...and I can tell a story." This current show we got because my producer had a working relationship with production companies, and knew the network contact thru them. Finally, after 10 years he contacted her direct and she gave him two shows. Because he was known to her, and was good. He didn't have to go thru the underlings.
You don't find out what they want...you pitch your ideas. Or you shoot it as a spec show, using money out of your own pocket. Then you have layers of people to go thru before a network head even sees it. And TV Pilots? Well, you have to know the people who order them, and be known to create good content.
Sorry, but I don't know what to say. The typical way is arduous and mysterious. And the accidental way of discovery is...well, make a short film or some other form of content that gets noticed and they will seek you out.

  • When I try and look for duplicates on the menu the area is greyed out

I have an issue on the software

  • ITAB - look for duplicates

I want to do something like this....
Let's say my ITAB has MATNR & DUP fields & let's say ITAB has entries like this...
    ITAB-MATNR      ITAB-DUP
    123
    123
    345
    456
if any of the MATNR's are repeated in ITAB I want to flag DUP for such repeated records so the ITAB would look like below......
    ITAB-MATNR      ITAB-DUP
    123
    123                    X

  • Looking for Executive Contact info

I've seen it on this site before, but good luck trying to search Verizon for contact information for their top executives!  You can have their speeches emailed to you, but I  can't find how I can email MY speech to them!  Can anyone help me here?  I am a very DISSATISFIED customer and I want my voice heard by someone other than the lowly customer service reps who caused my frustration to begin with.

I work in TV news as a reporter...and Im frequently trying to find contact info on people. Many corporations have begun to deliverately hide contact info of ANY kind nowadays. In my opinion, any publicly held corporation should be required to openly post contact info for its corp officers. Yeah like THATS gonna happen with a corporately purchased congress!

  • Looking for my contacts

transfered to new phone downloaded my contacts from old phone turned on the new phone now i can't find my contacts list on line??

    Hello prkgrp,
Congrats on getting a new phone! I'm so excited for you! May I ask what make and model is the old phone and the new phone? Also, what app did you use to transfer the contacts from the old phone to the new phone? If you used backup assistant then you can log in online at My Verizon to verify that your contacts aren't in the trash can, which is commonly overlooked. Once you have done so, please reply to this message with additional info so I can further assist.
    Thank you...

does ANYBOBY have a number to get in contact with this dang so called company????

You can try (800) 833-6687.  However, the last time I called the automated recording kept directing me to the internet.  You might try "chatting" with a representative in India.  Good luck!

And that is supposed to mean what? if it is an error of some sort, you need to provide the full text along with system info and other details. That aside, this is something to keep an eye on:

  • Is there any way to look for duplicate files on my hard drive?

I have tones of duplicated songs, photos and videos! How can I get rid of them?

Great advice Joe, it also depends a lot on Cesar's habits.
If he has rightfully imported music into iTunes and photos into iPhoto, then there should not be very many if any duplicates. Also it is just as important to not confuse ones iTunes and iPhoto Libraries as duplicates and mistakenly delete them.
Then again if one has a bad habit of dropping stuff on the desktop or just anywhere, then is is going to be very difficult to clean up.
