Looking for Eclipse/JSP tutorial

Anyone know of any good web tutorial on JSP/Servlets using Eclipse? This will save me from asking a ton of simple questions. In my initial google search I did not find anything all that good.
TIA!

Install java jdk, install tomcat, search for 'Eclipse Europa', download and configure it to use the jdk and tomcat per its instructions (its on the same web site somewhere).
Then create a new tomcat project (its in the Eclipse menu). After reading a book on JSP, get a JSP page to display in a brower by launching tomcat via the eclipse menu. Then get a servlet to work. That's the rough procedure to get you started.Zombie antics aside, why would a JDK be necessary if he's using Eclipse? It only needs a runtime

  • Looking for a good tutorial about cookies

    Hello
I'm looking for a good tutorial ( and clear enough for newbie like me ) on how to make 1.. or 2 cookies and some tips about how to make it.
    - I need to have a cookies that record and store the user preference if he is on an english browser but wish to see the french version of my website ( assume i have a browser language detection script ) and then again turn off the language detection script of the french page if you are on an english browser ( or the other way, if you choose the other way )..
    - I need to have a cookies that record the fact than if you are a mobile, you came on the webpage ( and got redirected the first time to the mobile page ) and that if you choose to click the button " go to regular website", it somehow turn off the mobile detection script on the main page so that the user will be able to navigate the real website if he want to.
I have absolutly no idea how to make cookie, and even with google, i get basic information how to make cookie, call them, erase them, but not how to make them work like a twin with the other script, and not what to put inside a cookies... in short i know nothing about that ... yet....
I'm not sure if i am clear, anyway any help, or tip's will be greatly appreciated. Thanks !
I would prefer Java or Html tutorial for cookies if possible.

  • Looking for a specific tutorial

I just got Photoshop Elements free with a Wacom tablet and I would like to tinker with it. I've always wanted to take a photo and edit it so that everyone has the same person's head just as a gag. I was wondering if anyone knows of any tutorials that show how to go about doing this sort of thing.

Looks like we'll have to put the miracle status on hold for a bit...that's not the article he's looking for. I've seen the same one before, and I'm pretty sure it came from Mark Spencer. He demonstrates the use of the Motion 3 "motion-tracking" tool by shrinking the head of a guy walking across a parking lot. Pretty cool tutorial and not at all the same one in the link above.
Wish I knew where I'd seen it, but I can't recall at the moment.

  • Looking for a specific tutorial I can no longer find

    Folks,
Before I purchased FCS 2.0 I saw a tutorial online that I didn't bookmark and now I can't find it. So if anyone can help me locate it, based on the description, I will be very grateful!
It showed how to automatically track a subject. There was a guy walking in a parking lot and the effect applied was that he had his head shrank and there was some fine tuning on the effect so that the motion was smooth. He was walking from right to left. Does anyone know where this tutorial is?
Sorry for posting this here but I've been searching like crazy and can't find it
    Best regards,
    Ismenio

  • Looking for the basic Tutorial for Labview 5

I have a student who I would like to have learn labVIEW. But all of my systems are running labVIEW 5.1 I am looking for the tutorial which starts assuming that you know nothing of this program, and steps you through writing several programs.

There was a tutorial included with the LabVIEW 5.1 CD. You can also find some links to on-line tutorials here as well as links to some LabVIEW books. I don't know how many of the tutorials or books are specific to LabVIEW 5.1 but the basic LabVIEW functions haven't changed that much and there should be enough to get someone started.

  • Looking for a good tutorial or book for 3D composite

Hi, I do editing for 3D animation at work (simple kind) and working along with 2 other 3D modelers.
We recently came down to the conclusion that we need to composite to be able to render our animation.
However, none of us really know how to do 3D composite, including myself.
(I mean we know the simple composite using alpha channels and such... but not to the point to using z-depth or shadow maps... etc..).
I was looking around online and book store to find out if there is any good resources for us to learn. I do not have much luck of it, unfortunately.
I'd like to have our 3D modlers to know how to split to all different layers for a clean composite purpose.... (like for me to use in Shake ). From what I found out, higher end composite, you can split most of the gemoetries its own object IDs, and shadow map/layers, lighting layers... (even they render separetely, it do cast shadow as other objects surrounds it, or refection..) and then composite in one scene.
I believe we create pretty good animation when we rendered them all together in one scene, and now we are up to the point that there are too many geometeries and render farm computers can't handle to render (and they are not lower end compters but they crash when we try to render with not enough memories).
I'm not really looking for having real footage as background and 3D infront .. that kind of composite...
If there is anyone can direct me to a right book? or online website to learn more of this stuff for all of us, I'll be really appriciate it.
    Thank you for your time...

  • Looking for a good tutorial for converting color to b&w in Elements 10

I have located tutorials that offer advice/instructions on conversion however they all seem to be in earlier versions and the dropdowns and screens are not the same as 10.  I am looking for well prepared tutorials that focus on converting RAW color to b&w.  I am not overly interested in the fad of placing color objects within the b&w photo, but I am interested in giving my b&w photos more definition.
    Thanks,
    Mark Kovy

You might look at this page (scroll down to Adobe Photoshop 7 Tips-Seeing in Black and White) and look at all the stuff but in particular the
quicktime movie about using hue/saturation adjustment layers for black and white conversions.

To rename a layer, double click on the name in the layers panel.

  • Looking for Eclipse discussion forums

I've recently started using Eclipse. Despite its greatness, I still occasionally run into problems. I've tried searching for Eclipse discussion forums on the web, but found none. So if you know any good Eclipse discuss forums on the web, please let me know. Since I'm running Eclipse on Mac OS X, any Mac-friendly forum would be extra good.

  • Looking For A Good Tutorial That Shows How To Redirect A Form Page.

    Hi,
Attached is a mock up of the Home Recipes Page on the site I'm building. When a user clicks on one of the categories (Desserts, Drinks, etc), I want them to be able to go to the Main Page for that category, on which will appear the recipes that have already been posted by them or someone else. Also on the Main Page, I want them to be able to click on a button that takes them to a page on which they can enter a recipe. There are four fields on the "Enter Page;" Recipe Title, Ingredients, Preparation, Serves How Many.
Does anyone know of a good tutorial that would help me accomplish what I'm trying to do, and/or answer some of the questions I have?
    1. For the page on which they use to post a recipe (in the process of building this one), is that named something like enterDesserts?
    2. For the page on which the already posted recipes appear, do I name it something like postedDesserts?
2.a. I know I'll have to create a container div on the "posted" page for each of the four fields on the "enter" page, but how do I direct the
information that's entered into the proper div?
    Thank you!

    Hi,
the "linking between the various Main Pages" is ok in my view.
    Here
    <td><a href="RecipesDesserts.php">Desserts</a></td>
    <td><a href="RecipesDrinks.php">Drinks</a></td>
    <td><a href="RecipesFowl.php">Fowl</a></td>
you use the same key-words in your headline. In order to a precise distinction you should refer to "Recipes for Desserts" like this:
    <td><a href="RecipesDesserts.php">Recipes for Desserts</a></td>
    <td><a href="RecipesDrinks.php">Recipes for Drinks</a></td>
    <td><a href="RecipesFowl.php">Recipes for Fowl</a></td>
    ok?
    Hans-G.

  • I am looking for a thorough tutorial which discusses night shooting with the EOS T3i.

Does anybody know of such a beast.  A video tutorial would be ideal.  The night-portrait setting is just not doing it for me, and I plan to make a career out of night-shots.
    Any help?
    Thanks.

PS I am new to the forum.  I am glad to be here!

In addition, you could actually go out and shoot!  Shoot a lot, since we don't have film as an expense, there is no reason not to.  Try things different things.  Keep track and watch what you are doing as doing is the best teacher.
