  • I am looking for an animated globe/map with zoom capabilities for FCP

    I want to purchase a globe that will spin and look somewhat realistic and when I stop it on the country it will zoom in/out to the state I want. I have found globes at several companies, but I need the zoom effect. Or... I need a map of the U.S. with a zoom effect like this. Can anyone help?

    Google earth pro can be purchased with a modual that exports to AVI format, but only runs on the PC; its MUCH cheaper than 10k; I'm sure you can use the google search engine to find the home page to earth pro, with the movie maker plugin.
    You can use google earth the free version to create the sequance to test and see if you see what you like; and then upgrade to pro with movie plug in and get the best results; The free version will not be as smooth and hi res as the pro with movie maker, movie maker downloads all the data for each frame, then stores that frame in the AVI, the free version will download as much data as it can to display to keep up with the time alloted for the animation;
    You can get sneeaky and use your camera to record off the LCD panel, but this looks like crap as all the details are missing, not to mention its illegal. Pro with Movie plug in is worth it for exactly this type of thing...

  • Looking for more animated objects

    Having a great time with the animated graphic objects that come with Premiere Elements 11. Where can I find more  animated objects like those that came with the program? I've done some web searches but usually find swf/flash material which is not like the some of the bird and other objects Adobe included.

    Welcome to the forum.
    I have used animated objects from Microsoft, found on their MS Office Web site. They have tons of clip-art, stock photos, animated objects and such.
    Others might well have other sources for you.
    Good luck,

  • Bootstrap, height of edge animation and others div content in the page- overlay issue

    I’ve a problem with the position others div tags in a page with a edge animation in the top (in the below example, div “box-animation”… export it with “publish target: Web”).
    The static content (in the below example, class “content-static”) is always overlay to the animation, instead to view it below div “box-animation”.
    The first solution is to set an height for edge animation container (for example, #box-animation height: 500px) but its very complicate to manage it with responsive website.
    So, how to view the static content in a div tag after an animation create with edge animate, to avoid overlay effect?
    This my first animation with Edge Animate and I always thought that the animation would have been placed in the html order of the webpage...
    Thanks
    Example:
    <body>
    <div id=“box-animation”><div id="Stage" class=“animation1…”>[edge animation]</div></div>
    <div class="container">
      <div class="row">
        <div class="span12">
          <div class=“content-static”><p>Test content</p></div>
        </div>
      </div>
    </div>
    </body>

    Hi... put a trasparent gif image, with the same animations's width/height, in the first div after the edge code container.
    If you want responsive layout, remember to remove width/height values.
    <body>
    <div id=“box-animation”><div id="Stage" class=“animation1…”>[edge animation]</div></div>
    <div class="container">
      <div class="row">
        <div class="span12"><img src="images/spacer.gif" alt=""/>
          <div class=“content-static”><p>Test content</p></div>
        </div>
      </div>
    </div>
    </body>

  • Edge Animation not showing up on server?

    I put my Edge animation into Dreamweaver and it was working, but when I uploaded it to the server, it wasn't showing up. I uploaded all of the Edge animate assets for the animations in the Site Root folder. What files are needed for edge animations to upload successfully when they are placed in Dreamweaver?

    I inserted the  .oam fie that I published from Edge into Dreamweaver. I got it to work finally, but the slideshow takes a long time to load or sometimes doesn't load. I've never used an iframe before, would that be a better solution?

  • For IE8, can I load static image instead of Edge animation (see page)?

    I'm just roughing out a new site and my Edge animation isn't showing in IE8. I've googled and can't find definitive info on whether Edge 4 has support for IE8. I'm assuming not. My question is... is there a way to load a static image for IE8 so at least there is an image to fill that space? This is just going to be a huge roadblock to me continuing to use Edge unfortunately! IE makes me crazy!!!!!!  http://www.duenorthdesign.com/hwt

    Well if you look at the code in the url you supplied they are serving NON-IE browsers <![if !IE]> desginated by the ! mark the css and scripts files that are needed to make edge run correclty. Looking at the code in your page you don't have any of those scripts attached.
    <![if !IE]>

  • Looking for a more suitable animation tool

    I've been creating animations from sprites in After Effects, with mixed results.  The input is a number of pixel art sprites (exported from elsewhere), and the output is a video, characters running around and interacting.  I have AFX doing quite a lot, but it's very awkward and I'm pretty sure it's the wrong tool for the job.  Can anyone either suggest better approaches, or more suitable software?  I'll describe what I'm doing now:
    - Many sprites are bodies or heads to combine, eg. a smiling or angry faces and walking or standing bodies.  I set the head position for each body sprite, so any head fits in the right place on any body (trivial rigging), then apply it with a script, so I can change the body and the head moves to the right place automatically.
    - Some sprites have multiple layers.  For example, while heads are normally on top of bodies, a body may have an arm raised, which needs to be above the head instead of below it.  I can create the extra layer for the body separately, and it works for any head.
    - I can set the draw order per-layer.  Usually, one character and all of its parts is drawn on top of another--body1, head1, body2, head2.  But, if two characters collide, handshake, or interact in other complex ways, I may want to draw both bodies, and then both heads, even though the heads and bodies are still anchored normally.  Some sprites may have multiple layers, eg. body, head, hands, legs.  (Z position hack...)
    - Individual layers can be adjusted separately, eg. to adjust the default head position downwards to give a nod.
    - Some sprites are hue shifted (hair color, clothing color) or have more complex adjustments applied, so I can reuse more sprites.
    (I'm only describing what I'm doing and not how.  I wrote more detail about what I'm actually doing in AFX and the specific issues I'm having, but it was too long and people can probably already guess the practical issues of using AFX like this.  I'll post more info if anybody asks.)
    The result is functional, but a real hassle to actually work with.  AFX is a compositing and effects tool and it's not really designed for animations, and only its scripting support has let me abuse it this much.  I don't know of a better tool, though--searches for animation tools mostly come up with things like Spine (authoring individual models for importing into games), and nothing suitable for creating complex video animations from sprite sets.
    There are probably many tools to do small pieces of this (sprite animation sequences, effects, scene animation, camera), but I'd really like to not split into a multi-tool workflow, since I want to experiment freely with a scene, not lay out an entire scene and then create it start to finish.  Does anyone have any suggestions (or better places to ask)?

    There are many other DTP applications:

  • How do EDGE charges work/where do I look for itemized billing GoPhone Pic

    How do EDGE charges work/where do I look for itemized billing. I have the GoPhone Pick Your Plan. The AT&T _phone call_ charges are clearly itemized on line at AT&T.
    Can I view the charges for the Media Net Unlimited feature package? I have connected to WiFi at the local coffee shop. I have connected briefly to a local TV weather page while using EDGE. I fear the twenty or thirty dollar charges I have read about if I do any serious use of Safari while using EDGE.
    I have explored this on the following:
    http://www.lindenlan.net/2007/08/15/prepaid-vs-contract-att-gophone-or-nation-pl an/
    and
    http://www.tuaw.com/2007/09/24/prepaid-data-packages-and-the-iphone/
    and both suggest I will be thoroughly reamed unless I am on a WiFi hot spot.
    Every time I read the word "Unlimited" in my unlimited Media Net package there is the dreaded double asterisk "**" and the warning "additional per minute charges apply.
    I don't see a charge for my maiden foray onto the internet using EDGE to view the weather page at KKTV so where is it. Surly I cannot use EDGE without charges on this turkey plan. Or can I ?

    How exciting ! You have gone way beyond the call of duty for me. I appreciate it; thanks. I am so pleased with the iPhone but did not want to spend my life in coffee shops just to use it. Also I need the map function at work to help my customers and we have no WiFi there yet. But looks like I am ok at work on EDGE.
    Every other day I was oscillating between being extremely pleased with my purchase and then chastising myself for spending all the money on the service that I was sure would be inadequate. I don't call much and considering how fast things are changing I don't want to be locked into a two year contract though I understand Apple is locked into five years exclusively with AT&T.
    I hope good things come your way !

  • Looking for offline install of edge animate

    I am looking for a way to install edge animate on a standalone pc (no internet connection allowed)

    Thanks for responding Tim.  I am still not able to located where the MySQL entries are located in my system; there are none in the registry.  I even re-installed MySQL and tested that it worked, then uninstalled again and verified there were no orphan MySQL entries in the registry.  Then I ran a registry scan/repair.  Still the option to do a new install with MySQL is DISABLED.
    Any more ideas?
    I was thinking of installing MySQL again and manually creating the database BOEXIR3 but don't know if this is the proper database for Edge 3.  Would the BO install program automatically create the tables?
    Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

  • Looking For Adobe Edge Experts

    I tried a Google search but wasn't getting what I was looking for. We have a couple of people on our in-house creative team who develop in Adobe Edge. However, they are uanble to fulfill all of the requests we get for this type of work. We can't get more head count for our department just yet so are searching for reputable Adobe Edge experts who we would like to outsource some of the overflow work to. Does anyone know of a good place to find suitable professionals?
    Thanks in advance for any help!

  • Edge Suite for Wordpress: Animation not starting

    After many hours, I finally managed to implement our Edge animation in some way on our website, but the animation is not firing (clouds are supposed to float):
    http://mineout.net/hangout
    (seems I have to press CTRL+F5 to force reload for it to load properly sometimes...)
    Here's the working HTML version for reference:
    http://mineout.net/hangout/Untitled-1.html
    Initially, Stage was 100% height and width, but I read that stage had to be fixed size for animations to work in Edge Suite, but after that change, I noticed no difference (source: comment at http://tv.adobe.com/watch/create-like-crazy-with-adobe-edge/episode-5-spice-up-your-wordpr ess-site-with-edge-animate/)
    I'm seeing this error in Firebug:
    TypeError: fillProp[1].match is not a function
    http://mineout.net/hangout/wp-content/plugins/edge-suite/includes/edge-wordpress.js
    Line 112
    I manually added this line to the theme's functions.php:
    wp_register_script('Untitled-1', home_url() . '/Untitled-1_edgePreload.js', 'jquery', '1.7.1');
    I also called it in the custom header I made for the front page, before wp_head:
    <?php wp_enqueue_script('Untitled-1', home_url() . '/Untitled-1_edgePreload.js'); ?>
    <?php wp_head(); ?>
    And I tried both with and without CSS:
    #Stage_untitled-1_4{
        /*position:absolute !important;*/
        /*position: absolute !important; *//* That is not pretty, but no way around it. */
        top: 0px; /* Aligns the animation with the top of the header (can be removed or changed) */
        z-index: -5; /* Sets animation as overlay, set to negative value for background placement */
        /* Only use the following if you want to center the animation */
        /*left: 50%; */
        width:100%;
        height:800px;
        /* margin-left: -346px; */ /* Half the width of the stage */
    I have tried all kinds of stuff (javascript and php hacks), but I am not sure if the issue is with my theme (it uses a lot of jquery stuff) or with Edge Suite for WP, or what it could be.
    Anyone got any clues?  Any help would be greatly appreciated

    use this plugin to be able put html code : http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/import-html-pages/
    then use this : <iframe src="your_Edge_File.html" width="100%" height="100%" scrolling="no"></iframe>

  • How to "Hack" my Edge Animation for IE8 / IE7?

    I know: Adobe Edge Animate is made for mdoern Browsers. But I'm doing a One-Pager complete in Edge Animation (a worldwide known limonade...). So about 10% uses Internet Explorer 8, less IE 7.
    I konw: there ist the option in publish settings to give lte IE9 users a shout to install the Chrome Frame Plugin. But seriously: that's not a solution (no one installs a plugin just to see a site. most users CANT install because of the rights at work).
    So I have to make my final Edge Animate onepager also work in IE 8. For this I found I can change this file:
    myProject_edgePreload.js
    then there is a function:
    function isCapable(){
              if(hasTransform){
                        if(requiresSVG&&!hasSVG)return!1;
                                  return!0
                        }return!1
    If I change it (ugly, I know) to this, Internet Explorer loads the animation (instead of the Stage for older Browsers):
    function isCapable(){
              return 1;
              if(hasTransform){
                        if(requiresSVG&&!hasSVG)return!1;
                                  return!0
                        }return!1
    But then as a next step I tried to include PIE.js and modernizr.js to get the animation nearly work in IE 8. a) I tried it to iclude the scripts with a conditional IE tag in the head of the HTML-file. Dont worked. Then b) I tried it to load it via yepnope like this:
    yepnope({
        nope : ['iefix/PIE.js']
              , complete: fireup
    function fireup(){
                           if (window.PIE) {
            $('.ie').each(function() {
                PIE.attach(this);
    But this also not worked.
    Dear stuff guys: I know, this is not the right way in your plans for Edge Animate. But I REALLY would love to have a version running in IE 8 instead of a dull placeholder. Can anyone help me, please?

    Hi, dworni-
    You managed to catch us as our development team was out on holiday.
    Unfortunately, IE8 does not support some of the CSS that we rely on to make Edge Animate projects play in IE8, so trying to work around it so that you can play them may not give you the result you want.  The compromise we made to get Animate to its current feature set while still supporting IE8 was, as you pointed out in your original post, using the Chrome Frame.
    That being said, you might want to try hacking in your JS files in your project's compositionReady instead of in the header of the project to see if that works at all.  As you're probably well aware, you're in unchartered and completely unsupported territory here... (thar be dragons )
    Good luck!
    -Elaine
