  • I am looking for a LabView programmer to volunteer time for an endangered species project.

I need to produce an analog signal that mimics the click of an endangered porpoise.  We are developing a method of acoustically monitoring vaquita in the Gulf of California using their echo-location clicks.  We need to produce simulated clicks to test this equipment.  We have both M-series (USB-6251) and E-series (DAQCard-6062E) A/D/A equipment as well as the amps and transducers to output the signals.  We have a synthesized porpoise click available in a WAV file (133 kHz, 100 uSec).  We are lacking the software to output the analog signals.  Is there anyone out there who could write stand-alone software to read a WAV file and output it to one of our NI devices (we don't own LabView or have any expertise with it)?

This application should be able to output 2 channels of the wav file to AO0 and AO1 of at least the USB-6251 device.
    It requires that you install:
    1. The DAQmx drivers;
    2. The LabVIEW 8.5 (or 8.5.1) runtime engine.
I have included everything (source) necessary for people to add to the code.
Executable can be found in Builds/EXE.

    André

  • Looking for a Director programmer

I'm currently looking for a Director programmer to update an existing .dir file for an interactive multimedia display that plays mov, swf, wmv and mpg files.

  • Small Company looking for a LabVIEW consultant (remote consultant welcome)

    Hello,
We are a small company looking for a LabVIEW consultant.  This is about a 3-6 month project.  The consultant must be familiar with NI hardware product as well.  Please send me your resume/CV.  In your email please state the following: years of experience, educational background, your hourly requirements, your location, and the amount of time you will be able to provide.
Please removes spaces on the email below.
    int e g r at e d devi c e s @ yah oo. c o m

I'm not sure if this is frequent on the NI forums, since I believe NI validates user information prior to issuing an account that allows them to post to the forum.  But usernames (like mine) don't provide immediate identifications; you have to ask for it.
Apparently Job Scams have become more frequent.  See the list of tips on the following site, (I have no relationship with this site.  It just came up in a google search).
    http://www.identityhawk.com/IdentityProtectionTips-inHonorof-LaborDay
5 Steps to Take Before Applying for a Job
    1. Email - the company to get information about the job. Do not provide any personal information to them upfront.
    2. Phone - speak to an official at the company and ask about the job. Be assured that it is legitimate.
    3. Meet - at the company site to assure it is a real company. If you cannot meet, and the company is in your town, drive by to see the facility, (possibly using google maps to view the site).
    4. Verify - see if you can find a person who has worked at the company or call a Chamber of Commerce of Better Business Bureau to assure the legitimacy of the company. Search online for legitimate information about the company, search online for any complaints of non-legitimacy.  State Entity sites typically have the name of the company and how long they have been in business.
    5. Apply - once you are assured the company is legitimate, it is safe to apply; but you should still not supply highly personal information like bank accounts until you are officially hired.

  • Looking for a labview virtual instrument program we can modify

Hi, I’m looking for a canned labview virtual instrument program we can modify for the OMB DAQ 55 from Omega to measure three temps and control three DO.  I have the driver at:ftp://ftp.omega.com/public/DASGroup/products/OMB-DAQ5455&56/ The driver is labviewpdaq5xsetup.exe. I have the OMB DAQ 55 from http://www.omega.com/pptst/OMB-Daq55.html  with a USB interface. I am trying to set it up to control a 24V electric valve. I’d like it to measure temperatures (5 separate temps), allow a set point to be programmed for three of them and turn on and off a DO based on the temperature. PID is not required yet. Maybe in the future… We have labview 7.1 and 8.0 but my colleague prefers 7.1  Do you have an labview VI programs that you can share that will do this with the DAQ 55? If you have something that will be close, we can modify it. But starting from scratch will likely mean we can not get this done in time for a project test. Simple set point and control is all I’m looking for… I’m new (my colleague knows it better than me, but has less time) to labview and do not have the resources to learn it from scratch to figure this out. Is there something you have I could modify? Can you help. Or are there canned programs you have that will do this? Labview is the preferred language. Thanks. Attached is what Omega shared with us, it might help…it’s a screen capture from a similar program, but far from the mark.

    Hi vestel,
These discussion forums are more geared for questions - not necessarily having everyone else code for you.
You have a few options if you want code.
    1) Look at the shipping examples that come with LabVIEW.  This will give you a starting point from which to ask questions.
    2) Look at the Instrument Driver Network that exits on National Instrument's Web site.  Here are all the Omega instrument drivers listed.
    3) Look at the list of Alliance members who you can pay to develop your code for you.  Look here.
    I hope this helps,
    Kevin S.

  • Looking for experienced iWeb 09 developer to help me in dev. my ecomm site.

    Greetings,
I am looking to get my site up and running using nothing but iWeb to conduct e-commerce transaction, shopping cart, course schedules etc. This site is not too difficult with about 5-7 pages but I would like to get someone to do this for me to get started and then show me how to maintain it going forward. I currently have a site which was done in a matter of a couple hours to get it started but I am looking to finalize this in the next few months.
Currently all of my account information is on yahoo (email, hosting, domain etc) and would like to keep this and map.redirect it to my .mac account.
Obviously looking for the lowest bidder so please let me know your rates.
Please let me know if anyone is interested in this and you can feel free to contact me at [email protected]
    Appreciate it,
    Mike

This would be so easy to do yourself and this is exactly what iWeb was designed for - ease of use for novices to get a web site up and running in a short amount of time.
If you want to get it finalised in 3 months time, then I would suggest that rather that paying someone to do it for you that you could be learning how to do it yourself.
Also, I see that you have Yahoo hosting and want to publish a commercial site to MobileMe. Do not do this. If you create a site with a shopping cart etc. which it is possible to do with iWeb, then upload directly to your Yahoo hosting account - iWeb is not meant for sites like these and the loading time is not good - Yahoo would be better.

Currently (11/14/2007), my project bombs consistently. Press Play, let it get half way through its cycle, press Stop, then the interface becomes unresponsive. I've tried enabling Highlight Execution, but there are many VIs that I don't understand (the manual has me drop them in) and so many things going on at once that I am lost.
I navigated to the Solutions folder, and opened the project. The solution (from what I can see) looks identical to mine, and it runs as it should.
I want to compare the two, so I tried to open another instance of LabVIEW so that I could look at each of the cases side-by-side. Naturally, LabSPEW (as we have come to call it) will not let you open 2 instances at one time.
Unlike normal languages (C++, VB, Perl), I can not print my code to see what went wrong (viewing on a screen is more difficult than looking at it on paper), and I can not use conventional comparison tools. It seems I am at the mercy of National Instruments to provide something.
I looked in the LV menus for a comparison tool. If it is there, it is either in an illogical spot or it is called something that I am not expecting.
I searched this forum for "comparison tool", but hundreds of irrelevant topics were all I could find.
Does anyone know how to compare one project to another using LabVIEW? Is this possible?

To nrp: I printed the file to PDF (should be attached). (Maybe that will be good for "LabViewGu..." below.)
To LabViewGu...: New to LV (hence the Intermediate Course I'm taking). What do you mean by "post your code"? It's all in pictures! I guess I could say "Timing Module.vi Error In comes from here, Error Out goes to there," etc., but that would take forever!
To tst: I tried doing the compare, but when I went to Select... the file to compare it with, the C:\Solutions folder was not among the choices. I attempted to enter it manually, but LV said it was not a valid choice. My vi is listed in the "Compare VIs" dialog box as "TLC.lvproj\My Computer\TLC Main.vi" and it is physically located "C:\Exercises\LabVIEW Intermediate I\Course Project\TLC Main.vi".
