Looking for fellow Electronica Synth artists

I am using GB3 to compose electronice synth pop and I was wondering if there was anyone out there with similiar taste. I find the software really easy to use and I can crank out tune after tune.
I layer a few synth melodies and baseline, pick a dance beat and then cover it up with a melodic story using various synths that Im getting used to.
I would like to hear your music so we can learn from eachother.
PEACE.

Ive had a hard time defining my type. I wish you could hear it. Ok I have some badly mastered tracks over at
www.soundclick.com/drasticdragonfly
I've stopped uploading to there for now as I have slow interenet and I have to take down a few from there too.
I've remastered most of those songs and added a bit more weight to each of them because I'm learing as I go. I'm in the process of finding a place to display my tunes and I think I'm going to get some reveiws done on them at Garageband.
I would say most are easy listening but not yet ambient because I do use dance beats ranging from 100 -130 bpm range.
They dont really follow much of a pattern except each one usually has a non-short looped melody that plays for a bit before repeating or even one that is the whole song.
Most people who have heard them think chillout because they are all instrumentals and someone relaxing/intriguing. They can get be a bit simple and easily overplayed but I have lots more to come in my head, im sure.
I'll check out those loops and synth sounds, thanks

  • Are you looking for BIG Rhythmic Synth lines?

For those of you into Trance/Techno. Here is an excellent tip that a lot of you will know but for those that don't.....
    1) Choose a Nice PAD sound from the EXS24 library on Audio Instrument Track 1. For this example choose Analog Pads>Matrix12Strings.
    2) Set up a loop for 4 bars.
    3) Put in a distinct Rhythmic Apple loop on Audio Track 1, filling the 4 bar loop (For this I suggest a 'Cowbell Groove 01' from the Garage Band Loop Library for easy results).
    4) MUTE the chosen Loop in either the Environment OR the Audio Mixer - Do not MUTE the Arrange.
    5) Insert a 'Noise Gate' into the EXS24 Track.
    6) Set Attack to 2 ms, Hold to 100ms, Release to 80 ms, Then Slide the Threshold up to 20dB. Lookahead 0ms, Hysteresis -3dB. High Cut 20000Hz. Low Cut 20Hz. Select SideChain>Track 1 at the top of the Noise Gate menu.
    7) Insert a Stereo Delay or Send it to a bus. Use the 'Double Pan Delay' preset for the sake of this demo.
Now Play your EXS24 Pad Track and chill out at 90 bpm or get the bangin' choons at 130bpm. Loads of Fun - Now you know why Oakenfold/Sasha/Transeau sounded so good in the 90's......
    Cheers

good to see people discovering good ol tricks of the trade for themselves..
here's another one, good for dance music of many genres:
use a compressor with sidechain. key the sidechain to the kick drum, or to some other significant, strong rhythmic element like a loop or percussion part. put this compressor on a pad sound and play with threshold levels, attack and release till you get a nice pumping effect on the sound that works rhythmically.
also, don't just limit yourself to using this on simple pad sounds.. make an effects bus with a nice chain of flangey/phasey/long delay stuff on it, and send a whole bunch of tracks to it, as you would normally.. then, try a limiter or compressor on it, sidechained as described above. now you start getting that expensive, "how do they make it all sound so rich and full, yet punchy and rhythmic" sound.. very good especially in rich, fat, washy deep and progressive house styles, but also works a treat on more electronic styles like trance and the very plastic electro house stuff coming out these days too.
basically, the key (pardon the pun) is to find clever uses of sidechained effects, because it makes the elements of your mix interact organically and responsively, and just plain sound expensive and classy.

  • Looking for a graphic artist for IPhone artwork

I'm looking for a graphic artist to draw some graphics for a puzzle game for the IPhone, If you are interested, I would offer payment and possibly a share in the revenue.
Send me a message if you are interested.

    Hi, Chris.
This is interesting. Kind of a yin yang thing. I am graphic artist / UI designer who's looking for a developer. Are you a developer with access to the app store currently, as that seems to be an issue. Take a look at my site... http://www.raygunstudio.com (also check it on your iPhone) ... and you an answer me from there.
    -thanks, michael

  • Looking for a way to search artists in Apple TV from iTunes Match?

Looking for a way to search artists in Apple TV from iTunes Match similar to searching for a movie in Netflix.

I'm not sure I understand. You access iTunes Match via the music section, there are different categories and you select artist to search through the artists in your music library.

  • Looking for a specific 8-bit synth plugin

There was one I found a while ago (maybe a year or so) that had a lot of Nintendo-type preset sounds. At the time, it wasn't Leopard compatible so I didn't keep it on my system. I've done some searching and checked out a couple plugins since including Magical 8-bit plugin and Chip32, but none have had the wealth of presets that first one did. I know I can recreate any of the sounds I want using those or Logic's own plugs, but I have a small project with a tight turnaround and haven't really worked with this kind of stuff before. Anyone have any idea which plugin I'm looking for? I know my description doesn't give you a whole lot, but if you know any such plugins that had more specific presets than just "square," "triangle," etc. I'd love to check them out. Thanks.

Thanks for both those suggestions. I believe the one I'm thinking of was freeware, but those two do look pretty solid.

  • Looking for a cool music app (music creation, recording, playing)

    Hi there,
I was looking on the app store if there's such application but didn't succeeded at the moment.
I'm looking for an app that would allow me to create music on the fly with a "midi-keyboard" with which I would record some notes then loop the sample and record a second track.
And build my simple music by playing bass line, then adding some beat, etc...
    Any idea if it exist?
    thanks in advance

Please be aware that you are not communicating with Apple when you post in these forums. Most of the people who will reply to your posts are, like me, your fellow users.
As to your issue, first, make sure that you did not inadvertently make an in-app purchase. Many apps, particularly games, are free for the base game but charge for additional features such as levels, "coins" and other such add-ons. Check your Purchase History to see if that reminds you as to what you might have purchased:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2727
If you find that this was an in-app purchase, to prevent this from happening again, turn off "In App purchases" in the Restrictions settings on your device. For more information, see:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4213
As to a refund, that's not automatic since the terms of sale for the iTunes Store state that all sales are final. You can contact the iTunes Store, explain the reason for your request, and ask, though:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact.html
They're usually pretty lenient in the case of inadvertent purchases, but there are no guarantees.
If the charge was not an in-app purchase that you made and forgot but the charges do appear in your Purchase History, contact the iTunes Store and let them know. You should also immediately change your password for your Apple ID. If the charges don't appear in your Purchase History, they were probably fake charges made directly to your credit card, and your card issuer will need to handle those.
    Regards.

  • Look for my invoice from July 2010, bought in Washington DC

I bought IPAD 1 , in Washington DC on July 2010,
I need to look for the invoice, I paid around 650 US$ .

You are not communicating with Apple when you post in these forums; we are all just fellow users. You will need to call the store from which you purchased the iPad and ask if they can provide a duplicate receipt. Whether they can provide a duplicate receipt three years after you made the purchase is doubtful, but you can ask.
    Regards.

  • What to look for in a location for setting up an Extreme?

I have a router, cable modem, cell phone extender, and hub in a bedroom closet because that is the way it was setup when I moved into my house. It is messy and there are lots of messy cables. I want to move all of this into another part of my house. What do I need to look for when deciding a location for all of this gear? What technical requirements do I need to ensure that it will work? Do I just need power and an ethernet port on the wall? Anything else?
    Thanks.

    Why adequate ventillation?
To keep electronics running cooler, so they will last longer. If you are not concerned about component life, then you can ignore the advice about ventilation.
The gear is on one side of my house and I plan to add another Express device to use to extend the Wi-Fi signal. In this case, I'm assuming your sprinkler example does not matter?
Then why did you not tell us this originally? We could have saved you some time.
You told us that you planned to move all of the gear in the closet, and now you seem to be saying that is not the plan.
Locate the AirPort Express approximately half way between the AirPort Extreme and the general area that needs more wireless coverage.
Extending this way always results in compromises. The Express needs to be close to the AirPort Extreme to get a good strong signal, and yet it also needs to be close to the wireless devices to deliver a strong signal to the devices.
It cannot be located both near the Extreme and your devices at the same time, so the best "compromise" is about half way between the Extreme and the area where you need more wireless signal coverage. Avoid walls or ceilings in the signal path as much as possible.
Remember that the Express can only "extend" the quality and speed of signal that it receives. It cannot "boost" the speed of the connection, it can only make it go further.
A much better solution if possible would be to connect the AirPort Express to the AirPort Extreme using a wired Ethernet cable connection. Then, you can locate the Express exactly where it will be most needed, since there is no signal loss in a wire.

  • New iTunes search help!:  I'd like to just start typing in the upper right search and have the list update like it did in older iTunes versions. Now it has little suggestions of WHAT IM NOT LOOKING FOR!

Remember the days when you were looking for that metallica song... you kind of knew the name... so you start typing it in the search, and that BIG WELL of music would whittle down with every character typed?  the search covered titles, artists, genres, ANYTHING  that was displaying.  I know a lot of folks HATED  this dynamic,  but let's face it, it worked, and it worked WELL.  And Apple's had us all get used to that dynamic for over a DECADE.
I get that times need to move foreward,  but they went WAYYYYYYY too far with how the simple search box works now(upper right one) ... The columns of Title, Album, Artist, are still there, but they drastically change the layout and presentation with everything you search for... and newsflash, NOT  EVERY SONG BELONGS  TO A GENRE OR ALBUM OR ARTIST....
I'm the kind of guy that doesnt allow itunes to attempt to copy eveything into hundreds of folders.  I already have it all pretty well organized...Lots of my music are soundbytes that I just had in the main widow of iTunes. Sure they'd be buried in the thousands of other songs,  but with a click of a key I could get to it... now iTunes ONLY  seems to try searching things that are in albums, genres, labeled so specifically that I would have to take a month off JUST  to start catalogging my music the way iTunes wants... Even THEN  only showing me a small number of choices in the search bar .... like "Do you want these 4 songs you DIDNT  search in the invisible queue next?"  "Did you mean all this other sh*t that you DIDNT  search for?"  **** I used to be able to find almost ANY  song with like 3 keystrokes.  if I type in "Zelda"  ... (looking for that obscure live Zelda acoustic I recorded with my phone that I dont have the band name to)  It suggests EVERYTHING else BUT  that song... whereas before it would just list the 20 or so ANYTHINGS  I have loaded into itunes with that string of letters in it.
Anyone else seem to have this issue?  Is the OLD  easy to search buried in the furthest preference trenches to TRY  to weed out old dogs such as myself, who were able to master the crappy UI  iTunes has neglected to give a **** about in the past?

Please try the action I supplied in my post.
If you untick the search Entire library
Then type in your search term it will give the list of songs in the main window

  • I am looking for direction on beginning a project.

Hello all, this is is a brief and likely frustratingly generic message.
It has been well over a decade since I have worked with Adobe products (I last built a web page with PS 5 and Macromedia Dreamweaver).
All of the new tools available to us are astounding but, for someone partially familiar with the tools but unfamiliar with the new workflows, the Creative Cloud can be daunting: there is simply so much.
I have two projects I would like to work on, the first is a blog that will incorporate videos of recorded shows, and host essays and writing on creative criticism, the second is a web page for a tutoring and academic writing service.
What I am looking for isn't a hand to hold while I do all of this, but a bit more specific a vector for where to begin my learning. I am used to the old method of designing, slicing, and fighting with pixels and tables, and having to manually set styles on static portions of web pages; CSS is a new ball game for me, as it was only in its infancy when I was doing this years ago.
Should I be using Dreamweaver, or Edge Reflow these days, if I am more of a designer/writer than an artist? What about Muse; though I find that Muse doesn't render graphics very well and content becomes blurry (like blurred 1px lines rather than crisp images like in PS)? I'd like to be able to repackage my blog in a mobile app one day, likewise for the tutoring service, but that one much farther down the road.
So, I guess, I've put on my blindfold, and am ready to pin the tail on the donkey, but I need someone to give me a spin first. I know there isn't much detail in this post, but I don't want to start rambling about things that don't really matter yet; but I do have the projects outlined and ready for green lights, so I can fill in more details as required.
    Best,
    Jared.

I only use Appleworks 6 to create documents. The printer is Photosmart 3200 all-in-one

  • Looking for a music app that doesn't stop playing music when album over

Back in the 90s, I had a 5 disc CD player.  When one album was done, it would move to the next album.
With iTunes, one album was done, the next album would start playing.
With iPhone, one abum is done, music stops playing.
I don't understand the logic behind the iPhone music app.  This is especially bad for when I'm driving.
I'm looking for a type of Music app that either:
    1)  Allows me to swipe to next/previous album as well as next/previous track.  (maybe  a swipe up/down command)?
    or
    2)  Allows me to display all songs, but sorted by Artist or album (that way I automatically have one long
    or
    3) Will automatically advance to the next album when the current one is done.

Bob, I have the guide, just didn't think of the playlist angle.  I was looking for  the genre/Siri thing.  But hey, making a playlist worked.
Demo, yes Siri works now that I've made a playlist and say "playlist"  And I'm satisfied with the fix.
But you'd think apple could make playing music more convenient.  I took off all my music and retagged it, leaving all info blank (ie: albums and artists etc) and leaving only genre because it's so difficult to get it play a genre.  I'd pick a genre, start with a  song and it would play only songs from a single album.  I've read of some odd fixes for this and a couple of them worked...sometimes!  (If you stand on one leg and whistle Dixie kind of things)  Ridiculous!
By eliminating all tag info except genre I fixed that issue and can now play by genre.
But as of now Siri still won't play Gospel music by my asking, she still replaces my spoken "Gospel" with her "Christian & Gospel" which like I said doesn't exist.  And correcting Siri doesn't work.  All my music falls into 3 genres, 2 of them Siri handles perfectly, Gospel she messes up.
Bottom line - I shouldn't have had to make a playlist, or played with the tagging of my music.  Apple says you can play your music by genre, and it should be simple to do so.
