Looking for Fireworks users that work with Flash in Manhattan!

If you live in Manhattan and work with Fireworks and Flash
and do not mind making some extra cash, then check this out:

Good luck!

We are starting a Computer Management course in our school district where the students will basically be doing a tier 1 helpdesk. Does anyone have this type of thing going on at your school? Im looking for ideas as to how to handle these kids' user rights as well as what they do. Im worried things can get messy by giving the students too many permissions.

    Hi ron1098,
Try my application Dates to iCal. it runs on the Mac, but you can sync the calendar to your iOS device.
See more about Dates to iCal here. It is £4 shareware with a 2 week demo.
    Best wishes

  • Looking for HD camcorder that works well with FCP. I'm fed up!

    Hello Cutters!
I have the JVC GZ-HD7. This cam is a complete total nightmare. I have tried everything and the kitchen sink to get it to capture or to playback its files on my Mac Pro! It works on my PC but I want to use my Mac.
I have renamed the .TOD files to everything you can think of...and nothing.
I paid $20 to Apple and downloaded the mpeg2 update... and nothing.
I have tried capturing video with FCP and iMovie. You just see a Blue screen.
I have download the QuickTime update from Panasonic and it doesn't work either because it's outdated.
I have also tried other wild and crazy things. I GIVE UP. I'm not stupid, i've done my research and I'm about to post this cam on eBay.
I also herd that the new Panasonic HD cams are difficult to work with on Macs to?
So what are you guys using??? What is working for you? Does anything work?
    -Mark

HI, I know nothing about your camera.
But, months ago someone at the COW was having problems
playing .TOD files from his camera.
He put a sample to download on his iDIsk.
Bring the curious type I found the QuickTime TOD plugin
that comes on the software disk included with the camera.
I also found easy setups for FCP and the Everio cam.
**You can get an updater for your installed QuickTime Component for Everio
    released last April here:
    http://www2.cli.co.jp/products/ne/updateqtc_for_gzhd7/qtc3eupdate.htm
    and FCP easy setups here:
    http://www.everydayvideo.com/eng/GZHD7/indexqc.php
The aforementioned TOD clip then opens instantly in QuickTime player
ready to export in the format of your choosing.
This on Leopard 10.5.4 and QuickTime 7.5
This may or may not help.
NB, You must have the the +QuickTime Component for Everio+ from your software disk installed for the updater to work.
This updater specifically mentions your camera.

  • Looking for IT folks that work in a school environment

I do something like that in our district. We had only one student last year that did a lot of move stuff in and out of classrooms, cable runs, and any other items that was fairly straightforward and simple. I inherited the program from the previous tech coordinator and ran with it. We had about 6 or 7 in the first year I was there, but 99% of them graduated and there was no effort to recruit. This year I will end up with four students and will probably work with them one or two nights a week in the school after school is out for the day.In our case, I evaluate the students through the working with them on what I can and cannot trust them with. We make them sign a "contract" that they will be in contact with potentially sensitive information and that confidentiality is important. They at any time can be dismissed from the program. After...

  • Looking for a new system working with the adobe creative suite

    Hello everybody,
i was 6 years happy with my asus notebook series x55s for what I paid around 1000 €.
I worked until CS5 with it but now it is getting a little slow and I am looking for a new system.
I am considering buying an Imac such as
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/FC814LL/A/refurbished-imac-27-inch-31ghz-quad-core-intel -core-i5
but I never bought an apple computer, I am just used to edit on one from work and school
    or
buying an Asus Laptop again (f.g. the Asus N56VM)
    http://www.cnet.com/laptops/asus-n56vm-ab71-15/4505-3121_7-35544410.html which I found for around 900€
and a screen with 27 inch such as the Samsung Sync Master P2770 (around 250€)
I am mostly editing Full HD material from the Ex1 and DSLR on premiere CS5 and 6.
Since I am not that technically expert I would like to have some opinions/ suggestions of you regarding
    my thoughts.
I would like to spent up to 1600 €.
    Thank you so much!

  • Looking for an application that works like windows photo gallery?

I switched to Mac and love it except for photos.
I basicly upload a batch of photos to a folder named temp, then tag each photo and drag them to their appropriate folders an eventually delete said folder, is there any application that works like this? Minus iPhoto, picasa, lightroom or adobe bridge?

Then I tag or name the person and drag them to albums but the event stats there.
I presume you mean the Event "stays" there.
Like iTunes, iPhoto is a database that works on a Library principle. All items are in the Library, each playlist is a subset of the Library.
So in iPhoto, all Photos are in the Library and each Album is a subset of the Library.
Events are just a view of the Library, broken by the date and time the pics were taken. Don't want to see them? Click on the Photos heading for a view of the Library as a single unit, not broken into Events.
And I have to import the Photis everytime, why cAnt I add photos to pictures directory and iPhoto will see them?
Because you might not want everything in your Pictures Folder in iPhoto.
But seriously: How much more difficult is it to drag the photos to
the iPhoto icon in the Dock
    or
    the iPhoto Window
    or
use the File -> Import command
than to drag the photos to the Pictures Folder?
You might want to have a quick look at the tutorials at
    http://www.apple.com/ilife/tutorials/#iphoto
Thye may help you understand the basic concepts.
    Regards
    TD

  • Recommendations for a Scanner that works with Mac OS 10.6.4

Hi: I bought my first iMac back in February 2010 and have really been enjoying it. However, I would like to know a good scanner to scan mostly pictures. Any recommendations are welcome.
    Thanks.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions,
Any Scanner that supports TWAIN should work fine. Look for that when reviewing scanners. I have an HP multifunction printer that has a scanner and that works fine for me. Although if you are looking for a photo scanner then there are others perhaps better suited for the task out there.
Here is a nice list of reviews: http://www.macworld.com/products/input_devices/scanners.html

  • Is macmini enough for a musician that works with logic pro and 10 plugin softsynth at the same time?

I use to work with a music platform like garageband or logic pro and at the same time I am working with a lot of plugin software like toontrack, ik multimedia, musiclab, native instruments etc. On my PC which has the same specification as macmini i7 2.3GHz this was a big problem especially when I was selecting effects like reverb, chorus or compressor so I had to export tracks all the time. What is the minimum specs that I should have to work without any problem? Any help will be appreciated.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
For what you want the Mac, the Mac mini is OK. It has got a quad-core processor that will give you the performance you need and 4 GB of RAM that you can extend to 16 GB, apart from a removable hard drive.
The problem is the GPU, but as the applications you are going to use don't require the best GPU, it will work properly. If you want the Mac mini, go for it. An iMac may give you better performance, but the Mac mini is correct.
If you buy it from Apple, you have 14 days to return the Mac mini if it doesn't work correctly with the apps you need

  • Any good visualizers for the iPad that work with iTunes?

I have long wanted to hear my iTunes library through my home cinema system and watch the iTunes visualizer at the same time. Current Macs support mirroring on a TV via Apple TV, but mine are too old. I thought I could get around this with an iPad, but iTunes on the iPad does not feature a visualizer, so I'm looking at third party apps.
I'm not too impressed with the App store search facilities though - it doens't seem to find a lot of things I've been told are on there. The Apple store I visited advised me to go this route, but Gravilocity and Light Beams - two I've been told about - don't show up in the searches.
What I need is a good visualizer that I can run as well as iTunes (not as part of it) so that I can mirror this via Apple TV. I am working on the assumption that an iPad can play iTunes content, and allow you to open another software item on top of it? Sorry if that sounds dumb, but I've never used one.
I'm sure there's probably something out there, but thus far I haven't found it.
At present, what do you see on Apple TV when you play anything from iTunes? I understand front row has gone.
If anyone can give me a few pointers to solve this puzzle, I would be most grateful.
    Many thanks in advance.

Wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it. Apple has a distinct preference for everything going through iTunes.
You can look into word processor programs like Documents to Go, which have wifi syncing outside of iTunes, or other online services like Dropbox or others that allow you to upload and download documents, syncing them without going through iTunes.

  • Looking for a calendar that syncs with my other iPad in the cloud?

I have tried numerous calendar/agenda programs, but none sync easily through the cloud with my other iPad.  Could be me being inept.  Trying to input appointments on my iPad at work and sync it with my iPad at home.  Appreciate any help.  Thanks  Peter

Isn't it just called 'Calendar' ?  The one with a red bar across the top.  If you've put other calendar apps on the phone take them off because they'll take over some of the functions of the Apple software and stop it working properly.
Make sure you're using the same account on both iPads.  For instance, you might have one connected to your 'work' account and the other connected to your 'home' account.
If you enter an event into an iCloud calendar using one device, and it's connected to the internet, it should quickly show up on all devices using the same iCloud calendar, as soon as they can connect to the internet.  If that's not happening, something is wrong with your setup.

  • Looking for Journal app that syncs with desktop journal app

    Hello,
I need a solution that allows me to keep a journal at both my desktop, laptop, or ipad.... and keeps them all in sync.
Have you found anything like that?
So far I've found a few that allow you to export... but no syncing.
    Thanks

I could only find Chronicle for iPad and MaxJournal for ipad.
Both export, but neither allow dual-entry with sync. You'd be foreced to copy/paste the text. Not hard to do, but an added pain.
You may want to email both vendors and ask them if they have anything in work that will allow this syncing with a PC. It'd probably have to sync via itunes, so you'd need to connect the ipad to the pc each time to sync, unless there was a wireless capability programmed in by the vendor.
THe copy/paste may be faster than a sync.....

  • Scanner Driver for Microtek 5900 that works with OS 10.6.6

Is there a driver available for a Microtek 5900 scanner that will work/be compatible with OS 10.6.6???

I would love the answer to this as well....I tried the latest VueScan and it fails to recognize the 5900. The VueScan website says its supported but requires a driver from Microtek's website but of course there isnt one there. I also tried ImageCapture to no avail.
Next step is to load ScanWizard in to the VirtualBox I have running on my Mac, but I would like a native solution.

  • Looking for text services that work in Mavericks

Quite some time ago several sources offered some nice services that, once installed into OSX, one could quickly alter highlighted text to do things like make the text case "sentence case" or "remove caps" etc. After searching for these services today, I'm coming up with a lot of broken links and no solutions. Anyone out there still have access to these handy services?
    Mark

The fee word service should do the trick.
