Please give us more details on exactly what you need to do, what you will be working with and how you will need to use the output, say in commercial 4-color printing.
Photoshop & Illustrator have some overlap, BUT Ps is a Raster, pixel-based Image editing program, where Illustrator is a Vector-based illustration program. Each has its own use, even with the overlap (for instance, Ps can work in Vector, but not at the level that AI can).

Poor old Photoshop® is forever being put down when it comes to layout work, but it is perfectly capable, and can output a high quality print PDF the printer will be perfectly happy with. OK you don't have the text flow between columns bells and whistles of InDesign and [spit] Publisher, but if you have a $10/month Photoshop/Lightroom subscription, instead of the $50/month full subscription, don't think you can't do a perfectly good flyer or poster.

You are asking two different questiions:
1. What's a good photo editor? Answer to that here is probably obvious.
2. What's a good desktop publishing/page layout program for creating PDF files for production? Answer, not PSE. It's a photo editor, not a page layout program.

The problem is that I have to enter a string of that type (any random string), and the program should go and calculate the result for the whole stirng, by looking at which parts to calculate first (figuring out precedence), second, etc. This is like a calculator, you don't know what the user is going to enter next, so I can't just use the boolean palatte. I could use it if the equation was always of the form "a 'operator' b", where the operator is any logic or comparison operator. But that is not what I am trying to accomplish.
Can you do logic in the formula node? I think it only allows numeric values for inputs and outputs, it doesn't let you enter in and output booleans and stuff..does it?

Would you know how to change de location where iMovie looks for its projets and events ?
I want to put those on an external disk.

You must do this within iMovie.
In iMovie, click VIEW/GROUP EVENTS BY DISK
This will show all properly formatted external disks (must by HFS+ journalled, not FAT32)
Now you can drag your Events to the disk by dragging and dropping the Event Name to the icon of the disk in the Event Source List in iMovie.
You can also move projects. See iMovie Help for details.

AS Library for both Flash and Flex

Hi all,
I want to create an action script library that i can use with
both flash and flex. i understand how to do it if i want to just
use it in flex, but i also want it to compile down in to an swf or
whatever so i can use the functions in flash. i tried creating an
action script library, but it requires me to specify a 'runnable
application file.' which doesn't make much sense, since i just want
a class library.

Found the answer (sort of). it's only partially possible. The
best way would just to edit the as files in flex builder and not
create an actual library (though this approach doesn't work if you
need to distribute the library).
In order to do create a library, you need to create a Flex
Library Project in flex builder, not an Action Script Library. the
action script library is a misnomer.
then, when you build you have to jump through some hoops to
get it to actually work, but creating a manifest file and setting
"compute-digest=false" as a compiler option. for more info, check

Conceptually, you don't go too far wrong thinking of iTunes for Windows as a gigantic QuickTime for Windows plug-in. QuickTime for Windows provides the audio and video playback capabilities for iTunes for Windows, the codecs iTunes for Windows uses for importing and burning CDs, and so forth.
So, under normal circumstances, if you uninstall your QuickTime for Windows your iTunes for Windows will no longer launch. The exception is if you install a different application such as QuickTime Alternaltive, which also provides QuickTime playback capabilities. However, most such applications (QuickTime Alternative being a good example) are themselves built from actual QuickTime program files. So there's really no getting away from the requirement to have QuickTime for Windows componentry installed on your computer in order to get your iTunes for Windows to launch and run.
In addition to needing some QuickTime for Windows installed on the computer for iTunes for Windows, a given iTunes for Windows version will require *at mininum a particular version* of QuickTime for Windows to be installed on the computer in order for that iTunes for Windows version to run. For example, iTunes for Windows 5.0.0.35 requires at least a release version of QuickTime for Windows 7.0.2 to run correctly, iTunes for Windows 6.0.0.18 requires at least a QuickTime for Windows 7.0.3, and so on. The same applies for solutions involving other programs like QuickTime Alternative. An iTunes for Windows 6.0.0.18 would require an installed version of QuickTime Alternative to made from (at least) QuickTime for Windows 7.0.3 componentry in order for iTunes to run.
The most straightforward way to go about getting your iTunes for Windows launching again after you've uninstalled your QuickTime for Windows is simply to reinstall QuickTime for Windows. You can get the latest version of QuickTime for Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 from the following download page at the Apple website. (Use the download link that doesn't mention iTunes.)

It is only available as part of the installer bundles for the most recent versions of iTunes for Windows, Safari for Windows and QuickTime for Windows. So if you have uninstalled your Apple Application Support and your iTunes for Windows 9.0.0 (or higher version) is no longer launching, the most straightforward way of getting your iTunes for Windows launching again is to uninstall your existing version of iTunes for Windows and reinstall the latest version of iTunes for Windows. (The iTunes reinstall should also reinstall your Apple Application Support.)

Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
