Looking for Great Examples of Keynote to demo for HS students

I'm looking for some excellent examples that demonstrate Keynote's capabilities that I can show to my students. Thanks for any help!

Hi Leo,
The only thing I could suggest, perhaps, would be to google for sites using:
inurl:pls/APEX OR inurl:pls/htmldb
as the search expression. Or have a look at:

  • Looking for a student with experience from Victoria University, Australia

    Hello,
I would like to meet anybody who could provide some more information about how is that to study at Victoria University, Australia and if that is possible for a man from another continent:))
Hope that does not sound that crazy,
    regards Otto

Hello, thank you for the offer.
I have heard that your university has a strong SAP focused program and would like to know if there is any way one would be able for a distant studies... remotely of some kind. I am from Czech rep, Europe, know Paul Hawking and his effort he put into relationships with SAP, but don´t think it would be ok to just write him and ask a favour. So I thought I could find an ordinary man like me, who could point me to some resources or even people he/she knows in person and could recommend, because their interest could intersect with mine.
I think how crazy this sounds, but I believe I have something to offer. Be it SAP related or not. I have a master degree in computer science from a prestigious university in my country but could use to find some friends from abroad and could use a foreign degree. If you feel there is any way how to help or what to advise, please share your thoughts.
This cannot work without a personal interest if any of the teachers and even then it might not be allowed. I just want to doublecheck, because education is an important part of my life and knowledge sharing/ transfer is what we do on SCN. Maybe someody would be able to use my knowledge for the school benefit and would let me get a degree at the same time.
    Thank you for your interest,
    cheers Otto

  • Looking for great examples of iweb sites

I am in the process of rebuilding my site with iweb '09 and want to see what others have done using iweb '09. I want to see what is possible. Any ideas where I should look ? Thanks - Thomas

I did my entire site in iWeb, using nearly zero template-based elements:
    http://www.503creative.com
that's a pretty good looking iWeb site.
I also think something he mentions is good advice for someone who wants to make a iWeb site look as pro as possible, which is to avoid the templates. While the templates look good on the Mac, they seem to be a cause of grief for IE, which most people use to surf the net. Also, they're canned. It's better, I think, to start with a blank slate and build from there. Stylistically, I think there's a trend towards simple elegance in professional websites rather than ginned up designs that are no longer as popular as they used to be.
Here is a site I made in iWeb that exemplifies the "simple elegance" that I think is becoming popular these days and also coincides with iWeb's ability to work better on more systems when the design elements are kept simple. Basically, the iWeb site I came up with is a search engine. I know that sounds boring but I'm thinking it may be handy for people looking for a particular website but don't know where to find it yet. There are also some additional features I've been adding into it, and advertising here and there to generate some income, but basically it's a search engine. I've finally gotten it off MobileMe and onto a 3rd party host so the URL is now www.google.com. Let me know what you think!

  • Looking for an application that has great time stretch capabilities

    Hello all,
I have Logic Pro 8 and I am still learning its capabilities. I do alot of sound design stuff and am looking for a spectacular time stretching application. I've fiddled with Logic's time stretch algorithms but so far I'm not thrilled with the results. I'm interested in really stetching things out to create new sounds. Here is a great example from Nine Inch Nails. It's a remix of Eraser off of Further Down The Spiral.
This particular remix version is called "Erased, Over, & Out." Here is an amazon link to have a listen.
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000VZOBGI/ref=dmmu_dptrk11?ie=UTF8&qid=1212078077&sr=1-1
The vocals are EXTREMELY stretched out and take the form of a pad almost.
He is actually saying, "Erase me." Keep in mind the original vocal is only about 3 seconds long. I'd like to provide that example but the Amazon sample isn't long enough to get to that part. Maybe download it to listen. It's called Eraser, it's from "The Downward Spiral" album. (1994)
Now, does anyone know if Logic is capable of getting this good a result like the sample I provided? I've seen PT Elastic Time stretching capabilities and it sounds awesome, at least what I've heard from their demo video on elastic time. Can the same results be achieved in Logic Pro 8?
If not, what plugin do you recommend that could achieve this EXTREME time stretching stuff. Or, does anyone know what Nine Inch Nails used to get that effect on the vocals for that particular remix? I just think it's a limitless tool for sound design, but right now I'm feeling limited in the sound quality department. I know I can keep stretching and stretching and stretching the sample region but that sounds a digital mess when I get it to the point were I want it, so please, don't suggest I do that, unless you know a way to make it sound REALLY GOOD in Logic using the algorithms that come with the program. Step by step info would be lovely.
    Thanx in advance...

    ported to the Mac
    it's on my other Mac
    is their a Mac version?
It seems a safe bet, eh..?

  • Looking for simple search example using SELECT

Can anyone link me to an example of how to create a basic search page where the search criteria is selected in a drop-down list (<SELECT> in HTML)?
Here's where I'm coming from so you have a better idea of what I'm trying to do. I've created a search page by creating a method in my App Module java class using setWhereClause(), then dropped my view onto my web page as a read-only table, and finally dropped the method and parameter as a command button and input text field, respectively. This works fine, but I'd like to replace the input text field with a select box so that the users will not have to type in their search criteria. I'd like to populate the drop-down with data from a table, which will then be sent as the argument for the method.
I can create a ViewObject that contains the data I need, but I'm not sure where to go from there. I don't know how to create the drop-down list or connect the command button to the list. (Ultimately, I'd like to have the search text submitted when the drop-down changes, but I'll settle for pressing the button for now). I've fooled with using the LOV component, but without any luck.
Step-by-step would be great, but if you can point me to an example, some documentation, etc., that would be great too.
    Thanks,
    Andy

Excellent - Thanks for the link to the sample code page. I thought I had seen all the tutorials, etc. but for some reason never came across this page. The example you cited looks like it's just what I'm looking for.
(Edit - For anyone who's interested, here's a step-by-step for creating a databound drop down list:

  • I'm looking for an example of Session Time Warning dialog

I'm looking for an example of a Session Timeout warning dialog to warn a user that their session is about to expire.  I'd really like it to have the option to extend the session or logout.
I have a user submitted Webapp with several fields and an image upload.  The image upload is for a copy of a professional state license.  When the user gets to this field in the form, they realize that they have to scan their form first.  They leave the Webapp Input form open, get their image uploaded finally, submit the form, then they get a message that they are no longer logged in. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

If your doing work on the front end like this and you feel the form is to long or things like file upload takes too long then build a multi-step form process and have the image as one of the latter steps so you can start saving the data.

  • Looking for examples using BigDecimal

Two newbies to Java are looking for examples of code that use the BigDecimal features for rounding and truncating large numbers to more user-friendly values.
We are doing some hefty math calculations on values defined as doubles and want to round and truncate to within 1/100th for display purposes.
We've tried some stuff on our own, but it is not cooperating. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • KEYNOTE designer ?  New  York area ? We're Looking for ya !

We are looking for someone who can help us create/design Keynote (and powerpoint) presentations. REDegg is a new media & communications firm representing ideas, properties, web and technology. We are looking for someone who is creative, inventive, progressive, and collaborative to help us package and present our ideas to clients, brands, agencies and publishers.KEYNOTE is our presentations platform of choice, can also do Powerpoint if needed. Some flash work would be helpful to build "demos" for the presentations as well. email me at [email protected] or [email protected] THANX. - EG

    Heheh, thanks!
From my perspective, we would want to better understand the following:
    - the new features in 10g which will be relevant to us (given we're not enabling versioning for the moment).
    - best Methods of Work for using non-versioned Designer going forward.
    - administration (RAU) of non-versioned Designer: anything new we need to be aware of.
    - anything in the migration process we might have missed.
We would like somebody from Oracle (assuming UK - could be from further afield but I don't think we'd pay for the travel!) who can do all the above to come in. I'm not clear whether this falls into the pre-sales area (i.e. free?) or if there would be a cost due to possibly complexity (and what would the figure be?).

  • Looking for Demo Assistance/Someone to Ask Questions

    Hello all,
Our company is looking into RoboHelp 10.  However, I have tried multiple times to request a demo from Adobe's sales department and was always passed to support, who passed me back to sales and so on.  The last person I was able to contact in support let me know they don't do demos of this product.  The guy mentioned just trying out the trial version and setting it up to see if we like it and if we don't, no worries.  Well, we don't have the time or the resources to just try it out to see if it's something we can use.  We are seriously looking for an online help system.
So with that said, would anyone be interested in sharing how you are using RoboHelp 10 for your clients and maybe talk some features and ease of use of this system.  If so, I would be very grateful for any help so that we can decide if this is something we will want to use.
Hopefully, you can send me a private message and I can send them back, so that we can connect.
    Thank you so much!
    Kimberly
P.S.  We are a software company (SAAS) with over 600 clients.

I've been using RoboHelp10 for about a year and a half.  I would be glad to talk to you.
However, I don't know how to send a private message.
    Rob.

  • Looking for a howto for an applescript to batch convert PPTS to Keynote...

Looking for a howto for an applescript to batch convert PPTS to Keynote...
    Hi to group!
(cross posted this a couple of weeks ago to Keynote forum, no responses) Perhaps the query really belongs here...)
    (I) Have a whole bunch of PPTs to convert to Keynote, now and more as time goes on.
Looked into applescript to try to automate this a bit (could open PPT file but did not see any way to 'Save' file from a script).
Also looked into bash scripting/automator too -- way too many options to choose from. Help!
Anybody done anything similar to this already?
    TIA for pointers. //GH

    A word of caution.
I have not tried the workflow before.
I am not an applescript expert.
These steps were quickly composed using my basic knowledge in Applescript
What I was planning was to create a script droplet that when a ppt file is dropped upon it, it extracts the name of the file and sets it to a variable to name the keynote file later. You might have to modify it a bit to batch process multiple files.
Try going through batch processing scripts made for quark or Adobe photoshop ( Not sure if these exist on internet) to see how they have implemented the steps in applescript.
To GUI Script Keynote, do these steps...
All the code has to go in here
<pre title="this text can be pasted into the Script Editor" style="font-family: Monaco, 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; font-size: 10px; padding: 5px; width: 720px; color: #000000; background-color: #E0E0E0; overflow: auto">activate application "Keynote.app"
    tell application "System Events"
       tell process "Keynote"
-- insert GUI Scripting statements here
       end tell
    end tell
    </pre>
<pre title="this text can be pasted into the Script Editor" style="font-family: Monaco, 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; font-size: 10px; padding: 5px; width: 720px; color: #000000; background-color: #E0E0E0; overflow: auto">click menu item "Export…"  of menu 1 of menu bar item "File"  of menu bar 1</pre>
This will click the next.. button provided the default export type is set to PPT
<pre title="this text can be pasted into the Script Editor" style="font-family: Monaco, 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; font-size: 10px; padding: 5px; width: 720px; color: #000000; background-color: #E0E0E0; overflow: auto">click button 2 of sheet 1 of window 2
    </pre>
This will click the Export button on the next window
click button 1 of sheet 1 of window 2
This piece of code can be used to set the name of the ppt file using the extracted name in the first step
<pre title="this text can be pasted into the Script Editor" style="font-family: Monaco, 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; font-size: 10px; padding: 5px; width: 720px; color: #000000; background-color: #E0E0E0; overflow: auto">set value of text field 1 of sheet 1 of window 2 to "<string>"
    </pre>
May be there is a better way out there.
Thanks for red_menace for his Script formatter script

  • Looking for Simple JSTL Example

    Hi Everyone,
I'm looking for an example of a simple Web application that uses "JavaServer Pages Standard Tag Library" (JSTL) -- that doesn't use JDeveloper!
    I have OC4J stand-alone 10.1.3.0.0 on Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack2 with JDK 1.5.0_07
I created and packaged a J2EE application in a EAR file. The EAR file contents:
    META-INF/application.xml
    frstjstl.warContents of "application.xml"
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <application

</html>My JSTL implementation comes from here:
    http://jakarta.apache.org/taglibs/doc/standard-doc/intro.html
The distribution contains a "standard.jar" file and a "jstl.jar" file (among other things). The "standard.jar" file is included in my WAR (see above) and I have copied the "jstl.jar" file to:
%J2EE_HOME%\jsp\lib\taglibI launch OC4J from the command prompt like this:
java -jar oc4j.jarI deploy my EAR using the following command:
java -jar admin.jar ormi://localhost oc4jadmin xxx -deploy -file frstjstl.ear -deploymentName FirstJSTL -bindWebApp default-web-siteThen I launch my Web browser and enter the following URL:
http://localhost/frstjstlAnd I get the following error message:
    500 Internal Server Error
    OracleJSP: oracle.jsp.parse.JspParseException: /index.jsp: Line # 8, <c:forEach var="httpRequestHeaders" items="${headerValues}">
Error: Attribute: items is not a valid attribute nameThanks (for reading),
    Avi.

    Thanks Qiang.
Yes, when I copy file "index.jsp" to directory "%J2EE_HOME%\default-web-app\testJstl.jsp" it works.
    I use the following URL:
http://localhost:8888/testJstl.jspAnd this is the output I get:
[Format modified to be more suitable to post on this forum.]
    Simplest JSTL
    CONNECTION = [Ljava.lang.String;@7348e
    USER-AGENT = [Ljava.lang.String;@10b8d03
    ACCEPT-LANGUAGE = [Ljava.lang.String;@157011e
    ACCEPT-ENCODING = [Ljava.lang.String;@10a8143
    ACCEPT = [Ljava.lang.String;@ac8360 HOST = [Ljava.lang.String;@1e534cb
    [/pre]
But I guess, since the JSTL related JAR files are part of the default Web application, there is no reason it shouldn't work.
    That's why you said:
Let us do a sanity test first. So now what?
(And, by the way, thanks for your help.)
    Cheers,
    Avi.

I Am looking for an app free app that will allow me to type and edit my homework.     I am  using a 7.1.1 version of I pad.   I have a wireless printer from Walmart hp envy 4502 which is working great.  Appreciate any input

Only two devices on our plan, so not so much an issue. And I have found myself using it much more than I thought I would when we got them (also first smart phones for both of us). Even got my wife to use hers for checking email while we were out of the country (big step forward for her ). I'm very interested in the ApplePay, but will want to wait a bit before diving into it. And since both phones are still in great working order, will likely wait a bit for the upgrade (sometime next year?). Will depend, I suppose, on the kinds of deals we see and what the plans turn out to be for updating my iPad and getting here one.

Maybe you are looking for
