Looking for Headphone Recommendations for Zen Mi

Hey Guys
Yup, another one of those annoying what one threads, but hopefully someone will take heart and help me out.
Yesterday I bought Myself a CL Zen Micro to replace my Sony HD-NW, due to the fact that XP 64Bit support for the Sony looks to be non existant. So far I'm very happy with the Volume, and Clarity of the music (I listen to anything and everything)
At the moment, my headphones are Sony MDR-V300 Cans, but I think that it might be time to retire them. The main reason is the 3 Metre Cable that comes with it. They are great phones, but I really need something a bit more shorted in the cable race, as I use them in work every day, and people are starting to notice the HUGE bulge in my pocket
What I'm looking for is a DJ Style Headphone (Over the Head, big cans - Due to a birth defect, I have no ear canal on my right ear, however, with the big cans, the sound vibrates through my skull, and into the Inner ear, which is formed. Voila, Sound in my Right Ear) with a standard Headphone jack, and ideally metre cable either straight or curly.
Can anyone help with a recommendation? Ideally I'm looking to spend sub ?50, but can go higher depending on the quality. I'm looking for a headphone that has a meaty bass, but doesnt sacrifice the Mid and Treble Range. A good all rounder that can handle Rock and metal as well as classical and jazz. I've been looking at either the Numark PHX, the Sony MDRV500 or the Sennheiser HD25'2.
Cheers for any help

Koss Portapro. The look is retro-80s, but they are the best headphones on the market for less than $50. They're comfortable and they have a rich DJ sound which is good for rock music. They're not a real DJ-style headphone, but they should be okay for your needs.

Looking for a headphone solution when editing suround environment in Soundtrack Pro 2. I have a Mac Pro. Is there any phones that would connect (direct or indirect) to the optical audio output, or do I need to buy a 5:1 speaker sound system with headphone jack?

Hey sorry for the late reply, I was busy to figure out alternatives as harman kardon was a difficult affair to find and acquire, but the good news is I managed to get hold of alternative.
Sony I assume recently launched a Bluetooth headphone DR-BTN200 which is compatible to my MacBook Air , iPad mini and android phone galaxy s2 with ease, the sound quality is pretty good as compared to other brands of Bluetooth headphones I checked compatible or incompatible to apple devices alike, this is definitely what I was looking for, costed me 7990 INR, this is highly recommended for ppl who are confused, I carried my devices to the store and checked before I bought a pair and pretty much happy,
The best part of this is its battery backup, I have used this hours for 3-5 days but this has not drain even then, but I do keep this charging once in 2-3 days just to keep this ready otherwise it does not even ask for it neither the quality of sound drops after 2-3 days of use.
This is over the ear headphone which is very soft but it's get sweaty around the ear I guess that's bound to happen.
Do get back to me for any other details, would be glad to share with all :)

  • Looking for a bluetooth headphone for my Macbook Air and Ipad Mini, I am not looking for a headphone that needs a transmitter to be connected to the source rather a headphone that can be connected directly via bluetooth to the source device

I am desperately looking for a bluetooth headphone that would be compatible to my Macbook air and Ipad mini both. I am more of looking for a headphone that does not need a transmitter device to be connected to the source (in this case Macbook Air and Ipad Mini) and headphone acting as a receiver, rather need a headphone that would be connected directly via bluetooth to the source, it would be great if multiple apple devices be connected simultaneously. Please suggest some good headphones.

  • New Mac user, new to Wireless - looking for recommendations on a router

Hello all! I am new to Macs, and to wireless in general. I just bought a used Powerbook which of course has wireless capability. So my next step will be to set up a router. However, I have no experience with this, and am definitely not a computer geek at heart. So I am looking for recommendations on a router/wireless network system that seems to work well with Macs (and PC's as I now have both) and doesn't require vast amounts of computer networking knowledge to set up and get working. What works well? What should be avoided? Many thanks for your input! (Oh, if it makes any difference, my internet connection is DSL.)

I would strongly recommend the AirPort Extreme. Its simple, doesn't do much but it does the job perfectly. It never drops out and the distance of the signal is far (you can be online in your back and front yard). And its really easy to setup. And it works with both systems. But I do recommend getting a new one instead of a used one because you'll need the newer version of AirPort Assistant to set it up because older version of Tiger doesn't have that programme pre-installed.

Unfortunately, Safari cannot be updated past 5.1.10 on a Mac running v10.6.8.
So, the options are to upgrade to a newer OS X or use Firefox or  Chrome.

  • Looking for recommendations - iCal substitution (different calendar or task manager app)

    Hello everyone,
for some time I'm looking for iCal substitution/replacement. I'm looking for a multiplatform solution (idealy OS X / iOS / Win). I'm a head of small team (5 subordinates) and iCal no longer suits me.
I'm looking for a task manager or different calendar application where I would be able to manage all the tasks my team has. So far I have found application Wunderlist, which is very close to what I want (basic version is free, it works on OS X / iOS / Win and synces through their servers) but it misses some crucial options (monthly view for example).
Also I do not want to and will not use any Google service.
    Thanks for any recommendations!

  • Looking for a new soundcard that allows use of mic and headphone connections on front of c

    Hello,
I'm looking for a new soundcard to replace my on-board sound. My case, Antec P80, has two jacks on the front that allows me to connect a mic and a set of headphones...
Are there any soundblaster products that will allow me to use these two jacks?

If you're asking Creative card ... all cards with 0-pin properiatry connector onboard can do this partly (i.e. not 00% functioning) if you make DIY connection like showen on article --> http://audigy2zshowto.blogspot.com/
Perhaps some mb-integrated (onboard) SB systems from certain vendors has this connection utilized the way, as it's done with your onboard sound.

I am trying to find an app or software to burn iMovie 11 slideshow to a dvd.  I have a MacBook Pro with Mavericks.  There are a lot of DVD Creator apps at the App store. Looking for a recommendation of what to use and tips. Thank you.

I've been using "Burn" for years and it has been the only DVD burning software I have ever used for the mac. I have never needed to look at other apps. Unless you want something that has more bells and whistles such as Roxio's "Toast" : http://www.roxio.com/enu/products/toast/pro/overview.html
There are thousands of quality free apps out there for the mac that are not part of the App Store. All you have to do is read reviews online, do a little search, the Apple forums are full of recommendations from experienced users that have been here for years...

  • Looking for suggestions for a new display: What size, resolution and refresh is recommended?

I've been using my laptop display, 15.6" and its just too small. I figured I'd purchase a display to plug into the laptop. I'd like suggestion on specs. I figured a 20 to 23 inch would work ok but I've seen some folks with dual screens. Lastly, I have no understanding of resoution, refresh rates to look for or brands to either look at or stay away from.
    Any help would be great.
    Thanks.

The good news is that you don't need to worry too much about the specs -- just about any monitor you purchase will be OK.  First choose a size that fits in you work area, then pick the monitor from that range of products that has the highest resolution and refresh rates -- the monitors will all have very similar specs.
    I've been using PCConnection
    http://www.pcconnection.com/
as my primary source for computer purchases for over 12 years and highly recommend it.  They have user's comments for most of their products, so you can get a feel for the satisfaction level of the products.
I've never understood the value of having dual monitors, unless one needs to have a couple of real-time monitoring apps open at the same time for instant feedback about the data....

  • Looking for a new 13' or smaller laptop. Do you recommend U330 and U110?

    Hi all,
My 4-year old T42 just died. I'm looking for a new laptop. I want the following:
    13' or smaller
    Lightweight
Good performance for home and work use, may run PS or some authoring tools
May play small games, mainly Internet, movies
    DVD recordable?
    Bugget is up to $1500
I am interested in U330 or U110 (so pretty). Any recommendations?
    Thanks,
    CoCo

    CoCo,
I have found that there sadly isn't much information on this forum about the U110, but I'll offer some comments that perhaps you may find useful.  I also have a Thinkpad T40p that I have had for a few years and like it very much.  It has the SXGA+ screen (1140x1050) which I like a lot.  While it has been a great laptop and pretty portable (less than 5 pounds), my wife and I take a lot of road trips in our Corvette and the T40 is a bit hard to manage in the car (we use it for our map program a lot).  So when I saw the little notebooks (or netbooks) at Costco I was intrigued.
I didn't really like any of the cheaper netbooks that much, except for the nice price of $500 and under, so I started looking to see what else was available.  I found the U110, which seemed to be a comparitively powerful and well built computer (especially when compared to the cheap netbooks), but the price tag of $1500 and up was too much.  I found a slightly used one on ebay still under warrantee for $800, so I bought it.
I started reading up on it on various forums and online reviews and a common complaint about the U110 was that is was slow using Windows Vista.  But a number of opinions recommended Windows XP, and since my other computers (T40 and two desktops) run XP, I thought this would be for me as well on the U110.
When I got the U110, I too was somewhat disappointed in the performance of Vista, although I will admit I'm not familiar with Vista while being very familiar with XP.  So I decided to delete Vista and install XP, which turned out to be somewhat of an ordeal because I could find very little information on this forum or elsewhere regarding the details of the U110 partitioning and other related issues.  It is actually very easy, but it is very helpful if you talk to someone who has done it and can offer suggestions and procedures.
Since I installed XP I am very happy with the performance and it's a great little, and VERY portable, computer.  It will be a great travel computer because of its portability.
With all of that said, I'm not sure I would recommend it for a direct replacement of your T42.  First of all, you said your T42 "died".  Before giving up on it, I'd suggest you go to the Thinkpad forum - Google search for "thinkpad forum" and you'll find it - and go to the T4x Hardware forum.  There is a ton of information there and a lot of people contribute to it.  There are many problems solved, and it is likely your T42 may be salvagable.  It's a great computer.
While I like the U110 a lot, the larger Thinkpad displays are easier to read if you'll be staring at them for long times.  The U110 is fine for quick internet surfing and getting information, but it can't compare to the bigger displays.  What the U110 is great for is being really portable.  If that is your primary consideration, the U110 is your answer.  But if portability is not your primary concern, I'd stick with the Thinkpad.  And pricewise, the Thinkpad will be considerably less expensive than a late model Thinkpad like a T60 or similar.  You can pick up a good T60 for under $600, while I got a good price on my U110 for $800.  Performance wise, the Thinkpad is a real bargain.
The U110 will do what you want it to - DVD recording, small games, internet, movies, etc.  But you mentioned "home and work use", and I'm thinking you might mean this to be your only computer.  While I really like the U110, I wouldn't want it for my only computer - it's just too small.  The display is too small and the keyboard, while just fine for travel, will not compare to larger Thinkpad's.
I haven't seen the U330, but it's my impression that the Ideapads are sort of a lower end product when compared to the Thinkpads.   I won't give up my T40p until I can't fix it, and even then I will buy another one to replace it.  But my U110 is still a great little travel companion.
These are my opinions and impressions.  If you get a U110, please post your own impressions so others can benefit.
    Good luck,

  • Looking for laser printer recommendations (please read!)

I couldn't find a spot that fit this question and although I may not receive any answers here, this is a very active forum with members who are unafraid of new technology, so here's letting one rip...
OK, I've not had a laser printer in a number of years - when my beloved LaserWriter II NTX gave up the ghost. I find that I am lately, however, printing more and more text-only or text-heavy documents at home and going through black ink cartridges like a hungry lumberman through flapjacks. Although I've not looked into laser technology for years, I am wondering if it may not be more economical to print these pages on a 'personal' laser printer (I know that toner cartridges are not cheap, either, but they are less expensive, from what I've read, than using inkjet to print text-heavy documents) than to continue racking up rebate dollars by selling my soul for black ink cartridges.
So I am looking for a laser printer that can handle about 2,500-4,000 pages a month AND (here's the kicker!) have automatic duplex printing capabilities... I've never had this ability on a laser printer but I understand it's available on some models these days.
I'm not looking for an 'office capable' printer - maybe more like a 'small office'? No real need for Ethernet, yet, if it's a standard feature, I would certainly use it. A small footprint would be nice.
As I wander into the local Office Depot I am overwhelmed by the choices and yet stupefied to find that the 'hang tags' on many of the models don't really give too much information - page one can expect from a cartridge, connectivity options, duplexing capabilities (I seem to find none, yet am certain that I've read of their existence).
    So my criteria:
    1. monochrome
    2. PostScript emulation (unless CUPS supports lasers? It'd difficult to tell by the ad hype yet Apple does seem to have drivers or, at least, Brother and HP laser printers). I don't want to be limited to 72 typefaces...
    3. automated duplexing
    4. small footprint
    5. more economical to operate than an inkjet at 2,500-4000 pages per month
    6. networkable, though served through another CPU via USB is fine
    7. brand is not important - as long as reliability is high (and, like Brother, for instance, is supported by Apple)
Please leave a message if you should have ANY suggestions or, if you can point me towards a website with a good overview of what's available (and with actual tests would even be better!) I would be very appreciative.

    Jamie,
I just wanted to thank you once again for your suggestion of the HP LaserJet 1320. I picked one up last week at Office Depot and, after I receive my $50 mail-in rebate, my total cost will have been $139.99!
The printer itself had an 'instant savings' of $100 off the SRP of $399.99 (and - for those who might be interested - this instant savings continues until June 30 - see the HP website for details.), bring it down to $299.99; I had an $100 Office Depot 'rewards' card plus a $10 'instant off' coupon from the previous week, bringing it down to $189.99 and there was a mail-in rebate for $50 (which, according to the paperwork, I can expect within 6 weeks) so... I was able to get a $400 printer for less than $140 (+ tax, of course).
Still, even with $14 tax, I have to assume that I would have paid at least as much in shipping AND I only had to drive for less than 5 miles, spend 20 minutes explaining why I did not want or need either the extended warranty or the Super Special Laser Printer Official Office Depot Very Special Customer Service Box (a cable, some paper, and a few other doodads for $60) and now I've printed a couple of hundred sheets and love the thing.
Had it not been for your recommendation, I likely would have forgotten the $100 Office Depot card until it expired and would not have sought out the printer there in the first place.
It's such a warm and fuzzy feeling to get such a deal on such a terrific little printer... and, so, I thank you, again.
