Looking for HP 16X DVD ROM Drive driver

Does anyone know where I can find a driver for the HP 16X DVD ROM Drive?  I have an old HP 515n and I'm attempting to install Window 7 on it.  Windows 7 is asking for the DVD ROM driver.
Thanks.

Lowell, welcome to the forum.
The only drivers that are available on the Product Specifications page are for XP. Therefore, I don't believe that HP will be developing a driver for the drive. It is possibly too old.

  • Looking for LabView 6i GPIB-USB-A driver for Agilent E7401A

I am looking for LabView 6i GPIB-USA-A driver for Agilent E7401A EMC ANALYZER.

    Hi,
There is a driver for this device available for downloading from the National Instruments Instrument Driver Network. Here is a link to the download page:
    Multi-Environment Certified IVI Instrument Driver
Unfortunately, however, this driver is only available for 7.0 and 7.1. Unless someone else on this message board has created one for 6i, you will need to create your own.
The other option is to upgrade to LabVIEW 7.1, which I highly recommend. There are many improvements over LabVIEW 6, including Express VIs, Event Structures, and many others. You can see the new funtionality of LabVIEW 7.1 with a free online demo version at this link
    Try LabVIEW 7.1 FREE Online
If you are interested in upgrading, you can call your National Instruments Technical Sales Representative at (888) 280-7645. Have a great day, and good luck with your driver search.

  • 16X DVD Rom drive?????? WHY?????

WHY is it most people list their DVD Rom drive as being 16X????
ALL DVD drives are 16X anyway.
If there were other speeds then that would be different but there are not.

  • PSE 6 wants to look for reconnections on the wrong hard drive

I recently installed a new 500 GB hard drive.  I want that to be my new C [main/boot] drive and managed to accomplish this with some changes to the boot.ini file.  My original C is now named J and is a 120 GB hard drive that I wish to use to backup pictures. I have an identical set of digital pix on both the new C and J.
The problem I'm having with PSE 6 is that following a digital picture download to my new C, the thumbnails show up in PSE 6, but when I attempt to print one, the recently downloaded files are noted as disconnected.  When I try to reconnect, I find that the photos were indeed downloaded to my new C drive, but PSE 6 lists them as connected to the J [old C].  When I try to navigate the reconnect process to the proper hard drive, the button grays out and nothing happens.  I went to Edit>Preferences>Files>Folders for saved files and navigated to the new C and confirmed that is was set as the location for the stored files.  It seems that no matter what I do, PSE 6 wants to look for everything on the old C, now called J.
Any thoughts on why this is happening and how I can fix it?
Thanks for any and all help.

    John,
At long last, here is the output.log that I typed in.  For some reason, the site will not let me paste anything in it.  And, as I indicated earlier, any emails that I've sent by hitting REPLY keep bouncing back.
    Again, thanks for any help.

  • T23 with CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo drive problem

I have had my T23 for several years. It came with a DVD/ROM and floppy drive when I purchased it from IBM (not Lenovo). It has served me well but I needed a RW drive, so over Christmas I purchased a new ultrabay 2000 CD-RW/DVD Combo (p/n 22P6991) in the States. The drive can be seen from My Computer, Windows Explorer and Device Manager.
I copied one image (23kb jpeg) from my PC to the drive using Windows Recording Software and it worked. I then tried to move a folder with about 10 jpeg images to the same CD-RW. The images disappeared from the C:/ drive and sit in a virtual storage area (I assume) waiting to be transferred. The CD-RW with one jpeg on it is in the drive and I get a message from the windows writing wizard informing me that there is no disc in the drive. The disc is no longer recognized.
I browsed the forum and found a reference to DLA. I do not have any Sonic DLA software installed. In searching Support and Downloads on the Lenovo Site I see an upgrade to dla521 build 01c (dla521b01u.exe)  for 22P6991. As I do not have the base software to upgrade, how do I get the base software?  Apparently it is shipped in IBMTools/apps if the device came with the PC.
I may even be chasing the wrong solution here. Can anyone point me in the right direction?  Sure would appreciate it.
    My system:   T23 Notebook  2647-8RU   512RAM  40G HD   CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo (Ultrabay 2000)
    T23: 2647-8RU, Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
    A61E: 6418-12U, W7/Pro 64
    X200: 7454-CTO, W7/Pro 32
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Thank you for your response, I very much appreciate it.  I have DeepBurner installed. I assume it to be much the same as Easy CD Creator and Nero... though Nero is huge!  I did select multisession on before I did the first copy.
As an aside, I have noticed that there is no format command for the CD (I am using brand new CD-RW discs). Using the CDs right out of the box rendered the file system as CDFS after I wrote the first file to the disc using Windows CD Record. The disc is now unusable.
For DLA ... I did some web searching and found that the CD-RW/DVD combo comes with  file   q1dla1us13.exe . It is not on the Lenovo download site. I did not get a CD installation disc with my purchase. Lenovo phone support tells me to buy DLA.
Update:   I have given up on DLA. I downloaded CDBurnerXP and used it.  It was simple to use and it did the job. My concern about not being able to format the drive prior to using it was not an issue afterall.
Thank you for taking the time to help me.

  • Just put my i-tunes library on a 2nd hard drive, how do I easily change the location where the program looks for current songs from the C:/ drive to the new drive without going thru each song individually in the "get info" tab

I just installed a new hard drive and transfered my i-tunes library to the new drive.  How can I make a bulk change of the location the program looks for the current songs.  I know you can do it song by song from the "get info" tab but I need to do it for all 4500 songs.  I have already changed the location that new files are stored to the new hard drive.

The pop-up lets you connect to the library file, iTunes Library.itl, on the external drive. This will, in turn, automatically update the preference for the iTunes Media folder to be the iTunes Media or iTunes Music folder inside the iTunes folder on the external drive and it will update the locations of all the content inside the media folder so that it uses the version on the external drive.
This works seamlessly if all iTunes content was inside the iTunes Media (or iTunes Music) folder (which was itself inside the iTunes library folder) before you moved/copied the iTunes folder. For content outside the iTunes Media folder iTunes should remain connected to the original location. These files should be consolidated (before or after the move/copy) and in addition, if available the library should be upgraded to the newer layout which places iPod Games and Mobile Applications inside the media folder instead of the library folder. (File > Library > Organize Library...)
For split libraries there are methods to rejoin them before moving (preferred) or repairing after the fact (e.g. my script) which I can go into if needed.

  • My itunes seems to be looking for my library on my computer C drive,  rather than my external drive ( originally set up to as default ).  How do I re-set itunes to look for my library on the external drive ?

Suddenly, after a year of good operation,  my itunes seems to be looking for my library on my computer C drive, rather than the external drive it had been set up to as default   How do I get it to search for the stored library on the external drive again ?

    Quit iTunes.
    On the external drive;
1 - Create new folder called iTunes (or whatever you want).
2 - Move your music folder into this.
3 - Go to the the C: drive iTunes folder.
4 - Copy the iTunes library.itl file into the iTunes folder on the external drive.
5 - Start iTunes holding the Shift key.
6 - Select Choose existing library and select the iTunes library.itl file you just copied to the external.

  • Looking for source or part number T540 drive caddy

I am looking for either a source or the part number for the bracket that holds the main hard drive in a T540 or W540.  It may be the same as a T440, but I don't have one to look at.  The parts list does not show it separate from the drive.  Any info would be appreciated

    Hi Richk,
I pulled the unit out from my W540 and funny enough, there are no markings of any kind on this plastic rail / bracket.
I found a used unit on eBay, but no parts numbers for neither that nor the foil. I will keep Googling, see if I turn something up.

  • Compression for CD or DVD - ROM ??

I want to make a PDF document which links to several Video clips (or different chapters in one video clip). I can make the links in Acrobat no problem, but I can't make them open a .vob in a VideoTS folder (it opens Toast for some reason). So I figure I need to make individual clips compressed in some other way?
Because my projects usually go straight to DVD after creating menus of varying complexity in DVDSP, my work flow through Compressor has become reliable and un-varied. I have tweaked my favourite settings which work well for me.
But now I have to make something quite different and I'm having trouble getting my head around the enormous variety of settings and choices offered in Compressor.
I believe I can't compress these clips in mpeg-2 and author all this in a conventional DVD because of the above problem. I think I have to compress the clips into .mov (or the like) and have all this on some sort of CD-ROM (DVD-ROM)?
If so what compression method do I choose?
I've done several experiments with a short clip representing the type of footage I have filmed. H264 gives excellent picture results, but it is jumpy on playback. QuickTime movies look dreadful.
Can someone please point me in the right (or any) direction? Right now I feel I'm going round in circles.
    Cheers...

  • MSI 16x DVD-ROM

I recently but together a brand new system and I am having a problem with the MSI DVD-ROM.  In safe mode this problem disappears oddly enough, but what happens is that is states there is an I/O error when trying to read the drive.  Any suggestions?  The MSI 48x16x48 CD-RW that I have hooked up to the secondary IDE as well works great.  Any ideas?  What gets me is how it works fine in safe mode....  I tried MSI tech support people but they still haven't gotten back to me and it's kinda been a couple of weeks.
    Thanks all!!!

Did you try setting it as master on IDE2 without any slave?
    What board do you have?
Do you have the option to test the drive on another computer?

  • Some Advice Concerning my MSI 16x DVD Rom Needed

This probably isn't the forum to ask this but I'm running out of options. I'm using DVD X Plat and it absolutly refuses to use the MSI DVD Rom to read with. I'm having to use the writer as the reader resulting in read times of 15-18 min. By the way I have had excellent performance in burning DVD-R's and CD-R's, TDK's, Memorex and Generics. I have tried everything but consider myself a hobbiest at most. I have the reader on IDE 1, the Burner on 2 and the HDD on 3. I thought I would get the best performance with the reader on 1 and burner on 2. The reader plays DVD's, CD's fine but absolutly will not read while backing-up DVD's. Anyone familiar or experience any problems like this. Could it possibly be the reader? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
    Butch R

NovJoe, Thanks for the reply. The Seagate HDD is IDE. You gave me some advice on the settings in BIOS. Would they still be same considering my HDD is IDE? Also I was informed that having the burner and rom on 2 seperate channels would be better. While speed would not increase perhaps quality would. Any comments? I just burnt a DVD to DVD using Nero and the results were great with the Rom and Burner. No one else has experienced the problem I'm having with the program that has responded to my query on their forum. Pulling my hair out
