  • Looking for info on the msi 970 gaming .

Looking at the msi gaming 970 as a GPU. I know about the ram issue. Looking for info about the card in general (persons perspective ). Like how does it overclock, cooling, bios updates, warranty and so on.
    My specs
    4790k-4.0
    gigabyte z97 black edition MB
    8gb gskill
    WD valaciraptor HD
    Thanks.

Cooling: It has very good cooler (better than 780Ti which I own) so surely low temps (<70C with fans 35%~ )
OC: It's a gamble. One can overclock better than the other
Warranty: As far as I know, 1 year with seller and further 1 year directly with MSI
BIOS updates: it's new card so rarely any updates right now, but there are some if something is being fixed/improved.
Should work fine in your system, no bottleneck with i7 4790
Just depends if you look at reference design or Gaming series.

  • Looking for Info on MSI G31M3-F

I'm looking for anyone who's using a G31M3-F.  It seems like a great budget board for someone who wants to reused DDR2 mem and a Pent. D processor, but there's virtually no info on it.  Is it good for OC?  How long has it been out?  I can only find 4 reviews from newegg.  I don't do a lot of gaming but do place WoW from time to time.  The X3100 should handle that just fine.
The one question I have is that I've heard that if you ever plan to put a descrete video card into a Mobo, you should never get one with an IGP.  Is there any truth to that?

    Hello LoopFree,

but there's virtually no info on it.
What kind of info are you looking for?  For board specifications and processor & memory support information you can look at the product site(s):
    G31M3-F
    --> http://global.msi.eu/index.php?func=proddesc&maincat_no=1&cat2_no=170&prod_no=1470
    G31M3-F (FSB 1600)
    --> http://global.msi.eu/index.php?func=proddesc&maincat_no=1&cat2_no=170&prod_no=1590
    G31M3-F V2 (3 Audio Ports)
    --> http://global.msi.eu/index.php?func=proddesc&maincat_no=1&cat2_no=170&prod_no=1573
    G31M3-F V2 (6 Audio Ports)
    http://global.msi.eu/index.php?func=proddesc&maincat_no=1&cat2_no=170&prod_no=1574
Note that not all Pentium D models are supported on all G31M3-F boards and that you will need DDR2-667 or DDR2-800 modules.  DDR2-533 (and lower) modules are not supported.
    Quote
How long has it been out?
Not sure, first or second quarter of 2008 if I am not mistaken.  The earliest official BIOS Releases are from March 2008.

The mainboard should work fine if you add a stand-alone graphics card, if that is your question.  Check the test reports that can be accessed via the product site(s) for tested video cards.

To a certain extent, maybe, but as it is a budget board with a budget board BIOS, don't expect miracles.

  • HT1339 I was looking for info on restoring an iPod Touch 4th Gen. But iTunes presents the same Restore button, which when pressed, offers to update, not restore, to iOS 6.0.1. Why?

I found this article when searching for info on restoring (to factory conditions) an iPod Touch 4th Generation. Now I thought this shipped with iOS 5.x (x unknown). But as mentioned too briefly in the header, when I click 'Restore' in iTunes, it offers not to restore, but to update. That is not what I want. I need to use this iPod Touch with Xcode 4.2 under Snow Leopard.
So the question is: what is really going on here and why? Is it really true that 4th G iPod Touches ship with 6.0.1 instead of 5.x? If not, how can I get it to really go back to the original? Why is iTunes failing to offer a restore when I press 'Restore'? If I guessed wrong about which of my several machines running iTunes (some under Windows7, one under Snow Leopard)I used when I upgraded to iOS 6.0.1, would that explain iTune's failure to offer a true Restore?

Restore will not replace an old iOS level. It will update the iOS level to the latest level. If you have to restore youre iPod that is what will happen. The iOS is not a part of a backup.

    Kiaser,
I thought that I had in the previous post, but here is some more information on it:
The card is a Li've! 5. (referred to as the Li've! Player 5. in some places).
Here is a page that links to all the information about the card you should need:
    http://us.creative.com/support/kb/ar...p?l=2&sid=5805
This should include information and troubleshooting for the card.

  • Portals best practices - looking for Info

Looking to learn on what I should and should not try to do with portals. What
sort of UI designs are encourages and what's discouraged.
Does anyone have any helpful links or book resources to recommend? Thanks.

Thanks, Sameer. I am a little past that point. I have already looked at much
of the documentation on BEA site and even threw together a few prototype portals.
Now I'm looking for portal UI guidance and recommendation. Something along the
lines of use frames or don't use frames, which attributes of a web application
make it particularly suitable or not suitable for a portlet, etc. Thanks again.

Looks like the attribute sunIdentityServerDiscoEntries is defined twice in the schema. Run the following and see where it is defined for the second time.
    # cd /var/opt/SUNWdsee/dsins1/config/schema
    # grep -w sunIdentityServerDiscoEntries *.ldif | grep -iv objectclasses

  • Looking for info on "test wlan dot1x radius" command

Is there a way to perform RADIUS connectivity and optionally basic auth testing, without a client?
I see the "test wlan dot1x radius" command in the CLI which looks promising, but I can't find any info on it.
The "test ..." commands aren't in the Command Reference (?!)
Can anyone provide any info on how the above command works (if at all)
    Thanks in advance

For testing radius, I use NTRadPing. Might be a better option for you.

  • Z10 Looking for info on warranty on an eBay bought phone

    Device info
    Your carrier:
    Model: z10
    OS Version: 10.1.0.4181
    Apps and free space
File free before and after a battery remove/replace. (Go to Settings, then Options, then status): 16GB Total space, 3.3 Free space. After removal of battery: Exact same
Did a battery pull fix your issue?
Apps installed and their version if possible.   (Go to Settings, then Options, then applications)on't believe apps shoulf have an affect on this... However, all original apps are still on the device and I have Alien Flow, BBSensors, BeBuzz Pro, Flashlight Free, HUB++, Skooday, SoundHound, Skype, Run In Crowd, Crackle, Amazon Kindle, GasBuddy, Remember the Milk, and Evolution Browser
BT device model/version (you will have to look at the BT device):?
    When writing your question
Any other details that would help us out with your issue: -- I'm from Ontario, Canada.
Alright, so. I bought this phone off of eBay and it was originally with Rogers, I believe. The seller said it was unlocked and after I contacted them saying that it had Rogers information in it they paid for the unlock code so I could go with Telus, I never set anything up with Rogers. Anyways, the phone started malfunctioning around 2 months ago just been too busy to do anything about it. Malfunctioning as in.. Slow battery recharge with the original cable to the computer or to the wall connector. Also, the accelerometer appears to be broken as it no longer goes to landscape mode on any app or in the hub, youtube, etc. I've made sure the lock is not on, I've done multiple battery pulls, I've done multiple wipes of the device and started from fresh around 3 times. Okay, so now. I just recontacted the seller and they said to go to Telus but Telus doesn't have any information (warranty) on their system on the phone since it wasn't orignally bought from them, so they said to contact the original seller again and they're going to give me the original purchase info and all that paraphernalia. I was wondering, how will I go forth with a warranty from BlackBerry? If I can't go through my phone provider :s. Anyways, hopefully I explained that well enough. Thank you for your help! Also, if I'm missing something with the accelerometer please let me know! I miss youtube

Explained well enough, but unfortunately you purchased a used device, not from an authorized seller, meaning there is very likely no warranty.
All your description sounds like software faults. I'd wipe again and reload the OS.

  • Looking for info on Infiniband compatibility

    Hello,
Posting in this forum because the Networking forum seems dead.
I've searched high and low, and I can't seem to determine whether or not the newer Mellanox HCA's such as the ConnectX-3 are compatible with Solaris. Specifically, I'm looking to integrate with Comstar and export zpool-based SRP targets. Not concerned with IP use at all, really.
I have read that the Hermon driver supports the ConnectX-2, but can't confirm it works with ConnectX-3.
Mellanox and Oracle support aren't giving me much info... Mellanox said Oracle is responsible for the drivers, Oracle sales/support sent me here since I don't currently have a support contract.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

Funny this question just came up internally and the response was to check with Mellanox on which cards work with Solaris.
I checked the Mellanox OS/support page here and Solaris 11 is not even listed:
    Mellanox Technologies
I would ask them to update this page for current Solaris 11 releases.
Not a great response. I hope someone in the community can comment.
    Thanks, Cindy

I will find a Mellanox contact through the Solaris ISV team to see if we can get them to update their support page with current Solaris support info and to include the Connectx 3 card.

While charging either to a wall outlet, automobile charger or the USB cable to the PC, the device is perfectly usable for ALL functions.

  • Looking for info about CallRouter experience

    Hi All,
I need the equivalent of Tuxedo's data dependant routing feature with my
Weblogic Server application (based on EJBs). After reading the
documentation, I found that in a clustered configuration, one could
implement a router class (which implements the CallRouter interface) to
route method calls to a given instance based on a parameter value.
Has anyone had experience with this feature? Is this solution totally
transparent to the client and server application?
              Any info is appreciated...
              Thanks

  • Soon to be college student, looking for info as to which computer I need.

Hi! I will be a freshman in the fall. First off I have heard AMAZING things about the MacBook Pro, (and honestly I'm leaning toward it), but I am scared because this is my money we're talking about, and boy am I short on it!
This computer would need to be fast, reliable, and be able to handle me putting stuff on it. (I'm not a photographer so it wouldn't be thousands of stuff, but probably a couple hundred.)I'm a writer so I'm thinking of getting Windows Microsoft, but even with the student discount, I don't know if I'll be able to afford it. And it'll have to handle whatever college throws at me. Plus I will use it to watch TV on websites that might carry viruses, so it'll have to be good and handle the virus protection I put on it. I want this computer to last me a long time. There is no way I'll be able to afford a new on for a while.
Lastly, I want to order it immediately, as in as soon as I get enough money.
Any input is appreciated! There are no wrong answers!

Wow, that's good advice. I'm hoping to get my computer way before I start school, perhaps within the next few weeks even. And it would be a good idea to save the extra money and get the Dell. But at the same time I've heard that a Mac Book pro could potentially last me up to 7 years or more.
It does not matter how long the computer lasts you if it won't support your needs. Believe me, you won't be using the computer you buy today in seven years, at least not with the then current capabilities, software, and functionality. Technology changes fast.
Check with other students who are now taking the same courses you will be taking to see what computer worked best for them. I don't have a dog in the race. As I said I use both a MacbookPro and a PC. Both work well. I don't expect to be using the same ones in a year or two, let alone seven years from now.
My advice, based on your limited budget, is to get a PC unless there is a course requirement to get a Mac.
