Looking for installation manual for Airport / Bluetooth in Mac Mini (PPC)

Hi,
Last year I purchased a Mac Mini as an additional Mac. At the time, Wireless, and bluetooth were not available as a complete package from resellers. I bought the Airport / Bluetooth kit for the Mac Mini and want to install it.
I have been searching for the Manual to download. Can anyone help me.
BTW, I have a technical background, and have designed/built logic and RF electronics. But I want a guide, so as I do not assume.
Thank you,
John

Welcome to the Apple discussion forums.
Video showing how to take the mini apart can be found at http://eshop.macsales.com/tech_center/index.cfm?page=Video/directory.html Note installation of the wireless/bluetooth isn't addressed, but getting into the box is shown.
A memory replacement that does show the airport/bluetooth cards is at http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/82.13.0.html
Perhaps with the other references, this will provide a basis to know what you're diving into.

You are right, Adobe does not support CS5 because it is no longer sold.
Simply download the trial version of CS5 from this Adobe web site and input your serial number.

  • How much does it cost for installation fee for ftt...

hello i just found out my area will hopefully go live around middle of 2014 to get fttp at my house does any one know how much it cost for installation fee for fttp? do you get your own non shared fiber optic cable only you that use it? and do you get 300 meg download and 30 meg upload how much is it normally a month is there unlimited packages ? any info would be apreciated
    thank you

I think it all depends wether Openreach have either installed FTTP in your area (rather than FTTC) and that your exchange is FTTP or FTTC/P enabled or if they have installed FTTC with FTTPoD (Fibre to the Premisis on Demand) in your exchange area.
Your exchange Padstow (WWPADS) is a designated FTTC/P exchange (meaning FTTC will be available in someareas within the exchange area & FTTP will be available to some other areas within the same exchange area)
This means that if your property is in the area that has been upgraded with FTTP rather than FTTC then, I don't think the FTTPoD installation charges apply as the fibre infrastructure is already installed and in place to your nearest DP
Eithern though you maybe in a area that has FTTP (not FTTPoD) rather than FTTC you can still choose to have Unlimited BT Infinity 1 (upto 38mbps download &  upto 9.5mbps upload) or Unlimted BT Infinity 2 (upto 76mbps download & upto 19mbps upload) rather than choosing to have one of BT Retail's faster Infinity (Fibre broadband) services (ie either upto 160mbps or upto 300mbps).

  • Airport Extreme and Mac Mini on different networks

    Hello ALL,
I am creatng a Mac Mini server. I have the Mac Mini connected via ethernet to my new Airport Extreme. I read somewhere that for server purposes, I should wire the mac mini versus using the wireless connection.  My Extreme is bridged with the Uverse 2wire modem and I have wifi disabled on it.  The problem I have s my ipad and iphones are all on the wireless network created . I use remote apps for the mac mini. As of now the remote apps do not recognze the mac mini becuse its connected via ethernet.  Any solutions for ths? Can i turn on Ethernet and Wireless at the same time?    THANKS!!

My Extreme is bridged with the Uverse 2wire modem and I have wifi disabled on it.
The it on the end of the sentence could equally refer to the Extreme or the 2wire.
I think you mean the Extreme.
Can i turn on Ethernet and Wireless at the same time?
The context suggests you are talking about the mac mini but you could equally well refer to the Extreme.
Do not mix up domains.. I think this is what the problem is. If you have wireless on the 2wire and the idevices are getting IP from the 2wire, they are also getting a domain.
Mavericks is very sensitive to domain. The domain by default on the AE is local .. but the domain on the 2wire could well be your ISP.
I would recommend you turn wireless on .. on the Airport Extreme.. not on the Mini. And see if the idevices when connected to the same domain can then also connect to the mini.
    Tell me your results.
A netstat scan is a great tool to use in the Mac.. open the network utility and see what you get for domains. See if the phone etc are on a wrong domain.

  • Looking for a manual for gpib232ct converter

I am trying to test a gpib232ct converter but I don't have a manual. At least I want to know which one of the 2 switches in the board control the baud rate and if I need a null modem adapter for this converter.
    Thanks,
    David

Switches 1-3 are used to set the baud rate. The table below shows how to configure them.
    Indication 1 2 3
    OFF OFF OFF 300 baud
    ON OFF OFF 600 baud
    OFF ON OFF 1200 baud
    ON ON OFF 2400 baud
    OFF OFF ON 4800 baud
    ON OFF ON 9600 baud
    OFF ON ON 19200 baud
    ON ON ON 38400 baud
You must use a null-modem serial cable (also known as a file transfer cable
or a DTE-to-DTE cable) to connect your computer to the GPIB-232CT-A.

  • Looking for a manual for the Historical Data Viewer Lookout 6.1

Is there a manual on the Historical Data Viewer (Measurement and Automation Explorer)?
I have never logged any analog data, but want to log (to historical data) the battery voltage at a remote site during a power outage.
I have the object established and have a display showing the real-time battery voltage. I have selected logging and have set the resolution and the deviation.
I am stuck where it comes to the historical data viewer. I believe that I need to set up a trace to view the data, but can not find a manual for the  Historical Data Viewer (Measurement and Automation Explorer) so that I can read up on it.
Does anyone have a link to a manual?
    Thanks, Alan

You have to configure the Scale parameter of Pot in Lookout. The Historical Data Viewer just reads data from database the show it. It can't scale it.
But I can't find a way to add a reference line to the view. Maybe this can be a new feature.

  • What are you supposed to do for users manual for the iPhone 5?

What or how do you get the user's manual for the iPhone 5?

It is accessible on your iPhone by going in to Safari and clicking on the open book icon at the bottom of the screen. You will see the option for the iPhone User Guide. You can also access it on your computer via the www.apple.com/support website and either download it to your computer for offline use or open it and read it that way.

  • Flash (is it for me?), Wacom Cintiq 22HD, and Mac Mini

I have Flash as part of the CS6 Master Suite, which I purchased primarily for InDesign, Photoshop and Premiere, but as yet I haven't opened Flash. I'm hoping someone here can save me time by advising me whether Flash is suitable for my purposes. I'm not a professional, just a keen amateur, but I do want to use quality software and equipment to do the finest job I can.
Answers to a previous post in the Illustrator forum (Re: Animation – is Illustrator what I should be using?) suggested that I try Flash.
    Background
I'll be using Premiere for converting my audio-visuals to HD format. Back in the 1980s I was right into three-screen slide shows. As part of the transforming, I'll be introducing a small number of video clips (hence my need for Premiere) and also short animation sequences, probably 10 seconds at most. The animation will be done by an artist friend who is keen to extend his talents into computer art. If I buy the computer (some sort of Mac), a Cintiq, load the appropriate software, and then loan it all to Steve and show him how to use it, he'll happily spend as much time as required for the animation. We're bartering: he gets to use a computer and tablet for as long as he wants, I get animation.
A typical animation might involve Steve drawing outlines at appropriate intervals, over a background, then having the software generate the in-betweens. Watercolour-style shading (i.e. not fill-type, monotone colour) would be added, probably manually for each frame, unless the tweening can competently handle watercolour-style shading. For some of Steve's doodlings on his iPad (simplified versions of what we're aiming for), check out http://www.mediafire.com/download/sj731c17co55g5w/Steve's_iPad_Work.zip
We're both new to this and recently spent an afternoon together looking at videos on Flash and the Cintiq. The combination looks like it will work for us, but I have a few questions which I'm hoping some of the experts on this forum can answer. A simple yes or no may save me hours of reading documentation only to find out that something won't work as I want. I'll also include some questions about the Cintiq and Mac Mini in case someone who uses them with Flash can provide answers. I live in a place where I have no access to these devices before I buy. I have to buy 'cold'. Thus my wariness.
Please note: I'm not an artist and Steve isn't computer literate. So some of these questions might appear pretty dumb to an experienced user of Flash/Cintiq.
    Ques 1
Is Synfig Studio (as suggested at the end of my Illustrator thread) something I should consider? Or is Flash a better bet?
    Ques 2
Does Flash have vector tools that mimic a watercolour paintbrush like in Photoshop? Or is that not possible as a vector, and such effects have to be done outside Flash and then imported as background (or other method)?
    Ques 3
When a Flash animation is finished, how is it exported, for example, to Premier? Do you export as h.264?
    Ques 4
It is not clear to Steve and I after viewing three Cintiq videos, how the Cintiq interfaces to Flash. Does the Cintiq know about Flash, and appropriates certain drawing tools automatically? Or do you have to tell Flash (or the Cintiq) that this button on the Cintiq now operates this tool in Flash?
    Ques 5
Do Flash and Cintiq work well together – and easily?
    Ques 6
Do I need a monitor to be able to use Flash with the Cintiq? Or would a Mac Mini be a suitable computer – with the Cintiq acting as monitor? Steve won't ever be using this setup as a computer. He'll be treating the Cintiq as a canvas on which to draw and paint.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

    Hi Guy,
I thought I was the only one around who was old enough to have worked on wide screen multi-image slide shows!
Flash may be the right product for you and Steve. I use Flash with an Intuos 4 tablet and it works fine. What you want to do is to search the Flash forums for references to Cintiq. There may be some problems that interfere with your intended use, or it may work exactly as you want. The important element for working with any Wacom product is to be sure that you are using the latest drivers for the Wacom product.
If you choose to use a mac mini, get a new one, one that can use a lot of memory, you'll need it.
You can export Flash files to video in most any file type and compression is installed on the computer. So, if you're going to use a Mac, install Quicktime Pro and you should have everything that you need.
I have never heard of or used Synfig Studio, so I can't comment on that.
Flash's paint tools are different from Photoshop and more similar to Illustrator's. You will have all of the flexibility of the Cintiq to control painting effects, it will take some practice, but you should be able to get the effect that you're describing.
Hope this helps with your decision.

  • How can I create a account, mainly for webmail, if I recently bought a Mac Mini but never situated it and am on vacation now without a Apple computer ?

I read ICloud has a program you can download to be able to use it for messages on a Windows machine but it still requires that you already established an account on an Apple device with Operating System 5 on higher and I prefer an option without installing anything to have easy access when going to a cyber or internet cafe. The ME site refers you to ICloud but that fails to help me.
My Mac Mini is basically new with a one year warranty with free support ( ??? ) and maybe I can call a technical support center but international calls could be costly from here so this is my last resort.
A Apple store is nowhere to be found in this country so I hope to gain as much advice as possible from here.

I appreciate your reply Ralph but I got no way of using an APPLE device with operating system 5 or better because the internet cafe and hotels here use Windows computers as mentioned the first time. The Icloud instructions for a Microsoft machine still require you to initialize the account on a Macintosh prior to being able to use it on other electronics.

  • Decided to upgrade from an old PowerBook G4, mostly for eyesight issues. Bought a new Mac Mini and hooked it up to an Apple A1267 Cinema Monitor. I cannot even figure out how to turn them on. Help please.

I am exhausted just getting to the point of being allowed to ask my question.  I recently decided to upgrade from an old PowerBook G4 that we have used for years, and am using now.  I bought a new Mac Mini and a reconditioned Apple A1267 Monitor that was working beautifully when hooked to a slightly newer PowerBook in the store.  Both the Mini and the monitor are plugged in, and attached to each other but I feel light a dolt.  I cannot even figure out how to turn them on or even get a power light to come on. Can someone help me?

How is the Mini coonected to the momitor?
Does the power button n the mini not work?

  • Is there a solution for the unclickable pink halo cursor on Mac Mini

Since I've updated my Mac Mini to Yosemite it wakes up with a pink halo around the cursor. I am able to move the cursor but can not select anything. So far the only way that I've been able to correct it has been to do a power button restart.
Is anyone else having this issue?
Does anyone know is Apple is aware of this issue?
I can't seem to find a way to send feedback to Apple without spending $29 for a support chat.
    Thanks

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • Plantronics bluetooth to Mac mini?

Has anyone been able to pair a Plantronics PTM 50 headset to their Mac Mini?

I had a problem paring my MacBook Pro to my Plantronics Back Beat Go 2 wireless earbuds. I would search for, but not find, my BBG2. I turned off every other bluetooth device in the house, made sure I had done a "forget device" on all of them. Nothing worked, until...
I turned the WiFi off on my Mac. As soon as I turned WiFi off, POOF!  it found my BBG2 earbuds, paired with them, and works like a champ now. It uses both the input and output features of the earbuds with the MacBook Pro.
So, if Plantronics won't pair with your MacBook (and I'm on Yosemite) try turning off WiFi and THEN pairing with the comp.
