Looking for intermediate skill level short course (1 - 2) days in Melbourne (Australia)

Hi Everyone,
I am relatively new to writing SQL queries, and do not consider myself to be a natural.
Late last year I studied a Unit called 'Introduction to Database Design' at Deakin University. This unit reflected the broad ANSI standard SQL (during theoretical studies), and Oracle SQL Plus (during practical studies). I did quite well in the unit, and now
have a thorough understanding of the basic SQL concepts such as JOINs, UNIONs, etc.
This year I find myself working specifically with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2, and related T-SQL syntax within my occupation. More specifically the company that I work for uses SAP Business One, and the underlying infrastructure at my work is MS SQL Server
2008 R2.
I would like to study some more SQL formally! My boss will probably back me in attending a one / two day course that deals specifically with T-SQL.
I am ideally looking to learn some 'intermediate' skills, such as CTEs, and Pivots. However performance of the SQL Server itself (such as Load Balancing, and Tuning) does not interest me.
 I live in the
Melbourne (Australia) and would like to find a suitable course in the CBD or surrounding suburbs.
If anybody can suggest any courses / course providers that are very good at teaching in my area can you please share. Finally my budget would probably be somewhere between $600 to $1000 for the course, but if the course comes with high recommendations I might
be able to budget a little higher.
Any help and or recommendations will be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards,
David

Hi David,
According to your description, you are going to find some T-SQL courses near to Melbourne Australia, right?
Since we are not in Australia, it's hard to give you the exact courses about T-SQL in Melbourne. However, you can learn it online. Here are some useful links about CTE and Pviots, please refer to the links below.

  • Looking for intermediate course in Flash

I'm looking for good self-paced training in Flash, geared toward the intermediate Flash developer with emphasis on development / ActionScript (over art/animation).  Something comprehensive with "best practices" and such.  I see the video-based tutorials like lynda.com and total training - but am wondering if there is anything more comprehensive and more like an "online course" with assignments, testing, etc.  I see that Adobe offers a downloadable "training library" from elementk but I see no indication of what it really is -- is it just a bunch of material you download and read or are their "courses" more interactive?  Anybody have experience with these?  Advice appreciated.  Thanks!

    lynda.com is what i use.

    good luck.

  • IPhone: Looking for a 3 level TableView drill down example

    Hi
The TableView drill down example available at Apple's Dev Center, as well as all the other examples of drill downs I've seen, only explains how to do a drill down with just 2 levels. The first view is a table view, and when the user selects an item in the list, another view with more information about that item is loaded.
However, I'm looking for an example on how to do a drill down with 3 levels, or more. The two first views should be regular table views and the final view can be some other view.
I'm currently struggling, trying to understand how to use only one TableViewController for the two first levels. Surely this must be possible, or do I have to create one TableViewController class for each level in the drill down?

I'll piggy-back on this question as mine is the same and I don't see any responses as of yet.
To continue drilling down (3rd level; maybe also 4th/5th, ending in a textView), are subsequent levels down just the first detail view simply reconfigured with fresh data from an additional array, or....should another (and another, and another...) unique detail view be created for each level and used instead? Is one method faster for the user or less trouble for the app writer, short or long term?
If it matters, the layout can be either programmatic or via the Interface Builder - just need a clue which direction to pursue.
If someone could just give a quick answer it would help a struggling new developer, thanks

It's very inappropriate and rude of you to use these help forums to spam!!! These are forums people go for help, not to be spammed! Please stop immediately.
Also you didn't pay a second attention to note that this is totally the wrong forum to post spam regarding SAP and 11i.

  • I am looking for a tutorial I had found a few days back on Tabular data display in Flex

    Hi,
I picked up Flex programming a few days ago and I was learning about data grids and tabular display of data. I came across a tutorial with code samples that showed how to 1. display information in a tabular format.
    2. how to read that information from a xml
    3. how to show more information if a item in the tabular format is selected.
the tutorial used gamers and their preferred games as tabular data items and once an item is clicked it showed the game publisher info and some detailed information as text. I am looking for this particular tutorial again and not able to find through google search
Could you please help me discovering this article again?
    regards,
    Ram

    Found it.

    Regards,

BTW, I too preferred the Application Manager to EAS...^^^Have you worked with 11.1.2.1? Oracle has made a few, seemingly minor changes that have really made me like it more (and this is coming from a guy that can almost remember every keystroke in AppMan -- I never touched the mouse and was way more productive -- Don't even get me started on Excel 2007+):
    1) Black text on a white background -- or at least dark blue on a white background. When I bounce between 11.1.2.1 in the cloud and the 11.1.1.3 VM I have it's uncanny how much easier it is to read in 11.1.2.1.
    2) HBRs now have REAL tabs instead of those brain-dead spaces they used to put in. Actually, you could tab, but on save, close, and reopen they would revert to spaces. No more. In fact the tabs work BETTER in HBRs than they do in calc scripts.
I guess that's about it, but those were two real pain points for me. The colors make a huge difference in readability. Thank goodness someone in product support looked at a book and noticed the default color scheme.

  • I'm looking for a Deep dive type of training based on the 20467 course (Designing BI solutions with SQL 2012)

I am looking for an instructor led classroom course around the Midwest, But everything I find is remote Instructor led class. And the online classes are only 6 hours 45 minutes a day, if you figure in a 45 minutes lunch, is it possible for one
to learn the course thoroughly in 30 hours over five days?
Although I took a class at CertificationCamps in Florida and they managed to compress a class from six days to three. but all we did was go through a book of exercises, and then go to our hotel rooms and memorize test Q&A. It was a waste of six grand
and useless. I retained nothing two years later.
Perhaps there are some Midwest (Indianapolis) BI developers who can recommend a place to go. Or let me know if you can really learn in a remote class.

    Hi Developer,
If I understand you correctly, you are looking for deep dive type of training about designing BI solutions in SQL Server 2012, right?
Since this is a non-technical question, I changed this thread from Questions type to Discussion. Hope some experienced person can help you.

  • Looking for APO training in Detroit area or online

    Hello.
I am brand new to SAP, and hoping to learn APO and combine it with my profesisonal experience for a new career direction. I have included a brief summary of my experience and education at the end of this post.
I am looking for a quality online /eLearning course for APO or a live course in the Detroit area to supplement my official SAP Education USA courses. I am much in need of SAP system access / lab setting for practicing etc.
I have taken SAP01 through SAP Education USA, and scheduled for:
SCM130     SAP R/3 Planning and Manufacturing Overview
SCM200     Business Processes in Planning (SCM)
    Thank you,
    Brian
    Brief background:
*Brand new to SAP, and not currently working with it
*Experienced Supply Chain / manufacturing professional, exculsively in a Big Three automotive company (non-manager)
    *MBA, (Supply Chain Management concentration)
    *MS, Information Technology Management
*Process experience in EDI, JIT, lean, planning, forecasting, scheduling, material releasing
*Cross functional experience in logistics, purchasing, sales and marketing (demand and volume planning)
*Excellent system / technology skills including experience with i2 Integrated Volume Planning (IVP) and Gateline Optimization Product (GOP)

    Hi Brian,
It is unfortunate but there are no real reliable people for teaching particularly APO. The best bet I would say is sap itself. It is worth every penny. I searched for people all over US and burnt my hands few places as well as they took money but did not teach even what they said.  APO itself if fairly new and very few people expertise in it.
Read the material first before going to the certification. I am sure with your background, you should be able to grab the topics fairly easily.I think the only uphill task for you is to understand how SAP deal with the supply chain not understanding the topics of SCM.
    All the best.

  • Looking for an excusive shop for thinkpad

I'v looking for a shop in city TORINO a few days.  Any body here can give me an adress?  Thankyou for your help.

Problem is the image circle on a EF-S lens is made to fill a crop sensor not a FF sensor, which is why crop bodies will accept EF and EFS lenses but FF only accept EF lenses. EF lenses project a circle big enough to cover a FF sensor.
Put an EFS lens on a FF and assuming you don't hit the FF mirror against the back of the EFS lens, you'll have heavy vignetting because the EFS lens doesn't cover the entire FF sensor. If you don't crack your mirror, you would have to do some pretty serious cropping.
